Hebrews 10:37-38 NABRE

"For, after just a brief moment, he who is to come shall come; he shall not delay. But my just one shall live by faith, and if he draws back I take no pleasure in him."

Good morning Brothers, we all have faith, some more than others.   Our faith, in order for it to increase we must work at it.  We must pray, we must read God's Word, we must use the wisdom that we are given.  

If you choose not too, then we draw back to our old selves.   It doesn't happen right away but it is a gradual thing.  We start slipping into our old habits.   Stop this morning and look at areas where you need to increase your faith.  

Have a blessed day Brother, know you are loved from above!  One more thing, if you haven't done it in awhile, take your spouse on a date, surprise her!

‭Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭20-21‬ NABRE

"The law entered in so that transgression might increase but, where sin increased, grace overflowed all the more, so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through justification for eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

We have a choice how we live our lives.  God doesn't make us do anything, it is us that must choose.  Our true happiness on this planet is found in eternal life.  It isn't found anyplace else!

Once Jesus has entered in, there is no turning back for turning back would be turning away.   No one said following Jesus would be easy, but in reality it is easy once you are committed. 

So I guess the question this morning is "Now what do we do?"

"Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you of two minds."

It takes action to draw near to God. God calls each of us to Him, it is us that must make the move.  Which mind are you feeding? 

Your spiritual mind is much like a muscle if it isn't being fed and exercised it will get soft and weak.  Seek out ways to draw nearer to God.  

May God reveal His presence to you today, may you be a blessing to those around you.

‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭6-8‬ NABRE

"The concern of the flesh is death, but the concern of the spirit is life and peace. For the concern of the flesh is hostility toward God; it does not submit to the law of God, nor can it; and those who are in the flesh cannot please God."

We are called to deny self, pick up our cross and follow Jesus.  This is what pleases God, this is what he asks us to do.  

So the question is am I in the flesh or am I in the spirit.  We struggle with the flesh but greater is He who lives in me.  We find peace in the spirit.  Jesus helps us overcome, so trust in Jesus, deny self and together create a new life.  

May God's peace be with you today as you deny self.  Pray for your brothers in their daily walk.  Ask God to work miracles in their life's, Ask God to answer their prayers today.  

Please pray especially for Ignacio Rodriquez today that God intercedes to heal him.  Take a minute out of your day and ask God to release his pain and create a new life for Ignacio.

"He did not doubt God's promise in unbelief; rather, he was empowered by faith and gave glory to God and was fully convinced that what he had promised he was also able to do."

Jesus is Lord!  Why do we doubt?  Why do we lack faith at times?  I believe it is our relationship with Jesus, it is our friendship with God that we need to work on.  

God never waivers, never doubts, His ways are true.   When we try to be the lord of our own lives is when we get in trouble.  Trust in God's promises and step out in faith that He will guide you.  

Jesus is Lord brothers, may your day be blessed with hope and a desire to seek Him.

"But if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly, and he will be given it. But he should ask in faith, not doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed about by the wind."

Ask and you shall receive, ask with faith that you have already received.  God is all powerful and gives to those that ask.  Are you asking?

We become that person which we feed.  What are you feeding your spiritual self?   Are you spending time in God's word?

Just a reminder about the beginning of God's embrace tomorrow night in Schulenburg or Halletsville on Thursday, both start at 7:00.  If  you are asking God for wisdom, this is a great program for that.  

May God's grace be upon you today and may others see the reason for hope in your eyes.

No matter our calling in life, as a follower of Jesus we are to go into the world.  We are to bring Jesus to others.  

Does that mean you have to change who you are?   No, be who God made you to be.

What a beautiful day to go to church and worship the God who made us.  Enjoy your day brothers, enjoy the beauty around.

"Rise up, Rise up! Clothe yourself in strength, O arm of the Lord! Rise up as in the days of antiquity, as in generations long past. Have you not struck the arrogant one and wounded the dragon?"

Rise up!  These two words jump off the page this morning.  It doesn't take much to rise up, it takes a decision.  

Rise up in strength is putting on the armor of God, His word.  Jesus leads us each and every day into the battlefield.  We know it isn't an physical battle but a spiritual battle.  It is simple actions every day where you make an impact.  

May your simple daily steps make a huge impact in God's army today.

We are all called to be disciples and in fact we are.  We are all profession some message with our lives.  We are sharing our thoughts and believes with others.  Even the non-believers are. 

What makes the difference?  The One that we are following!  "A call to discipleship isn't a call to perfection",  It is a decision to follow Jesus.  In following Him we will become perfected. Don't limit yourself with doubt, go be a difference maker!

Enjoy the day brothers, for the King of kings has His hand on you.  Stand on the Word of God today.

‭Ephesians‬ ‭3‬:‭16-17‬ CPDV

"And I ask him to grant to you to be strengthened in virtue by his Spirit, in accord with the wealth of his glory, in the inner man, so that Christ may live in your hearts through a faith rooted in, and founded on, charity."

Christ is love, His mission on earth is love, His mission in heaven is love.  God loves you so much that He gave us His son.  Think about that for a minute this morning.  Would you sacrifice one of your children for someone?   Me neither. 

Love is His purpose, this is what this bible verse speaks to me.   Love not only strengthens you personally but it builds others up.  We are all called to love others like Jesus does, He doesn't judge.   

May Jesus be in your thoughts as you live your life today and share the love Jesus has for you with others.

"A prayer of David. Hear, LORD, my plea for justice; pay heed to my cry; Listen to my prayer from lips without guile."

God hears every one of our prayers even when we don't think he does.  He does not turn His back on us, never does nor will He. 

God seeks us day and night never letting up until the lost lamb is brought back to safety.  We can be so stubborn in our ways of thinking we know better.  But in our time of need, when the chips are down, who do we turn too?

In all things give God the praise, honor and glory.  For His love for us knows no boundaries.

"so we, though many, are one body in Christ and individually parts of one another. Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us exercise them: if prophecy, in proportion to the faith; if ministry, in ministering; if one is a teacher, in teaching; if one exhorts, in exhortation; if one contributes, in generosity; if one is over others, with diligence; if one does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness."

We all play an integral part in the body of Christ.  Let us exercise the gifts we have received.  Have you figured out what your part is?  Is there a particular gift you feel drawn too?  

In order to reach out we must first reach in.  We can't give what we don't have.  Make sure you are spending time on you each day, to be in union with God.  Life can be so hectic but as a member of the body and Jesus as the head, we need that alone time with Him.

"But whoever keeps his word, truly in him the charity of God is perfected. And by this we know that we are in him. Whoever declares himself to remain in him, ought to walk just as he himself walked."

Once we have accepted Jesus and asked Him to walk with us, He starts to perfect us.  We begin to realize what causes Him pain.  Thing back, before your Christian walk, you didn't think too much about hurting Him.  Today it is different, now you think about Him, this is how you know you are in Him.  

One does not live on bread alone but by ever word that comes forth from the mouth of God.  Matt 4:4b.

"Since Christ has suffered in the flesh, you also should be armed with the same intention. For he who suffers in the flesh desists from sin, so that now he may live, for the remainder of his time in the flesh, not by the desires of men, but by the will of God."

The will of God, what does this say to you?  We all have our own struggles but Jesus has suffered the consequences of those struggles.  Know that He conquered sin for you.  

We are called to follow Him which leads to a life of abundance.  So reach out to Jesus in your daily walk, do not be afraid for He alone can conquer your fear. 

It is God's will that we follow Him.  May Jesus lift your spirits today to see His purpose for your life.

I like to thing that we get to start over each morning, refreshed and ready to go.  The frustrations of yesterday are gone.  We can hang on to them but all they do is weigh us down.  

Imagine the frustration of Peter denying Christ twice.  He could of let this stop him in his tracks but instead he moved on.  He let this become a defining moment in his life.  

God has given us a new day brothers, let the Sun shine on you today.

"I will betroth you to me forever: I will betroth you to me with justice and with judgment, with loyalty and with compassion; I will betroth you to me with fidelity, and you shall know the LORD."

Our Heavenly Father seeks a covenant relationship with us much like a husband and wife.   As we move towards this relationship we learn to recognize His presence and His will for us.  

It is the justice and judgement we struggle with, for He lets us realize when we are not in tune with Him.  Then we must decide to move towards Him, or continue doing what He is showing us.  

The good thing is, He waits for us with compassion, fidelity and loyalty.  He never falters, it is us that must make the move.  

The God of mercy waits for you today to seek Him. Enjoy the day brothers, be the light of hope for someone today.

"For thus said the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel: By waiting and by calm you shall be saved, in quiet and in trust shall be your strength. But this you did not will."

Have you asked God for direction in your life and waited for the answer?   Not easy is it!   For we are used to making a decision and then putting our plan into action.   

When we are seeking God's guidance we must first ask for guidance and then we turn it over to Him.  We will feel God moving us in His direction when there is a calmness and peace about what He wants us to do.   

I believe this is trusting in God, our ways are not His ways.  Relax, let go and wait patiently on The Lord, always being in prayer.

Enjoy the day Brothers, God is working His plan before our eyes.

Sin is so destructive, over time we get to the point we don't even recognize it.  We justify that sin is ok but in reality, the evil one is creating a division we don't see right away.   

By the grace of God, He calls out to us.  He thinks no less or no more of us because we are His creation.  He allows us the choice to have a clean heart thru repentance but we have to recognize His will and seek Him.  In seeking Him, He gives us a steadfast spirit.  Steadfast meaning an unshakeable or unwavering spirit.  The winds will blow but we stay the course.  

May God make your paths straight today and guide you into His loving embrace.

You shall seek me. And you will find me, when you have sought me with your whole heart. 

We are all seeking God in some way.  Some don't even know they are seeking Him, but they are.  I believe God prepares us in our daily journey for our face to face visit.  We strive to be our best but yet we still struggle.  God will help you overcome, if you ask.  

As long as we seeking Him each day we are being molded to be more and more like Jesus.  

Help others on their journey, we are called to be our brothers keeper.  Step out of your comfort zone and be the person God is desiring you to be.  

Go in peace today and be a blessing to those around you.

God is in control, in all things give Him thanks.  When was the last time you thanked Him?   When things are going well we have a tendency to not seek Jesus as much.   When things seem out of control we seek Him all the time.  

Jesus Christ is the equalizer, praise and honor Him at all times.  He knows what you need and when you need it.  

Be glad and exult, for your reward in heaven is plentiful.  Mathew 5:12a

O Lord, as we go about our day today, help us see the good in all things.  Happy Monday, Jesus is by your side!

God grace is sufficient for this life that we live.  We are truly blessed to know the Living God.  Our mission is to reach out to others and help them know The Living God.  He is alive!!

"You are my beloved son, in you I am well pleased."  These are the words we all want to hear.  It is in the daily steps of our lives that we will hear them.  

Enjoy the day brothers and learn to lean on God's grace when you need a little boost.

Sometimes we think we have it all figured out, we have God on our side and in the process we become wise.  We rely upon our own strength and forget where true strength comes from.   

Don't get complacent in your Christian walk, ponder your steps and ask, "Is this what Jesus wants me to do?"

Look around you, there is a lot going in the world today.  What most don't realize it is a spiritual struggle for our souls.  

So what do warriors do when they are in a battle?  They protect themselves with armor.   Our armor is The Word of God, our strength is found on our knees.  Doesn't makes sense from the worlds view but this is exactly what Jesus did.  

One does not live on bread alone but upon every word that comes forth from the mouth of God. Matthew 4:4b

"You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden."

Good morning, we have been given another day to live for Jesus.  What are you going to do with it?   

Life is so precious and so fleeting.  We are given a certain amount of time to live and we are being constantly bombarded with the message of the world.  This is a message of death, it brings instant gratification but nothing eternal that we want. 

Let others see why you have hope for eternity before it is too late.  Be the one who knocks on the door so Jesus can enter.  

Enjoy the day and stay warm.

"And so I said to them: "You know the affliction in which we are, because Jerusalem is desolate, and its gates have been consumed by fire. Come, and let us rebuild the walls of Jerusalem, and let us no longer be in disgrace." And I revealed to them how the hand of my God was with me for good, and the words of the king, which he had spoken to me. And I said: "Let us rise up, and build." And their hands were strengthened for good."

We each have a task to do and we were each blessed but in different ways.  Your hands were strengthened for good.  Do not worry about anything but do what is in front of you.  

God is the Master Builder, He sees the big picture.  We just get a small glimpse of what is going on in front of us.   We all play an integral part in His plan and our strength comes from Him. So let's build one block at a time.

"Death and life are in the power of the tongue. Whoever values it shall eat from its fruits. 

Out of the abundance of a man's heart, the mouth speaks.  There is power in the spoken word.  The tongue can tear down and build up. We need to feed the spirit good fruit so we may build up.  

What are you putting into your thoughts on a daily basis.  Are you spending time in God's word.  Listen to what you are saying for your ears hear it. Is it helping or hurting.  Is the fruit bitter or is it sweet?  

When we speak good of others we hear it as well, it builds upon what is already there.  The opposite is true as well so pay attention to your words today.  Listen to what life is coming from your tongue.  

May the God of peace be by your side today to walk with you.

"Then, on the last great day of the feast, Jesus was standing and crying out, saying: "If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink: whoever believes in me, just as Scripture says, 'From his chest shall flow rivers of living water.' "

Have you ever been really thirsty and couldn't get any water?  You would do anything to get a drink of water.   Remember that first drink of water once you got it, how it quenched the tongue?  

Jesus is the answer for our spiritual thirst.  He offers the same quenching for the soul.  Turn to Him for salvation, it is not found in the world only thru Jesus Christ, our living water.  

Happy New Year, be the well for His living water this week.

"Alas, alas, alas, O Lord God! Behold, you have made heaven and earth, by your great strength and by your outstretched arm. No word is difficult for you."

Today is the Epiphany of our Lord, Jesus Christ. There are many epiphanies (revelations) in our lives.  Do you take the time to seek Him?  To seek the epiphanies that are in God's word?

I had an epiphany yesterday when I attended the community gathering.  How the alpha and the omega is tied to the beginning and the end.  Read the first two chapters of Genesis and the last two chapters of Revelations.  

What God is asking of you may not seem possible but that is not for you to debate.  Let Him handle the impossible you just do what He asks. 

May this year be like no other for you!  In the name of Jesus.

"Give to them according to their works and according to the wickedness of their inventions. Assign to them according to the works of their hands. Repay them with their own retribution."

The Lord sees what you do and knows your heart.  He doesn't give us anything we can't handle but He will allow challenges that will stretch us.  During the whole process we must have the spirit of God in order to receive His grace.  

Another way of saying it is, we get what we give.

‭Galatians‬ ‭2‬:‭19-21‬ CPDV

"For through the law, I have become dead to the law, so that I may live for God. I have been nailed to the cross with Christ. I live; yet now, it is not I, but truly Christ, who lives in me. And though I live now in the flesh, I live in the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and who delivered himself for me. I do not reject the grace of God. For if justice is through the law, then Christ died in vain."

I am reminded this morning how fleeting our life on earth really is.  We are not promised tomorrow only today, will I be a difference maker while I am here?

 I live; yet now, it is not I, but truly Christ, who lives in me. Hard words to live by but we should remember them when we feel pain and want to lash out.  We should remember them when we see someone in need and are too busy to stop.  We should remember them as we begin anew this year, it is not I, but Christ who lives in me.

Happy New Year 01-01-2015

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

 

Behold, the new has come. Powerful words to meditate on going into the new year my brothers. I know there are sins I have committed against Our Lord that hurt me but I know he is a forgiving Lord and forgives me. If there are any sins against Our Lord, any sins against our brothers or sisters, any sins against ourselves; let them pass. 

Ask Our Lord for forgiveness, ask your brothers or sisters for forgiveness, forgive your brothers or sisters who have sinned against you. Go into the new year being a new creation. Be a new creation, spread God's forgiveness, faith, hope and love. 

I know people who have lost their way from God, as im sure you all know someone who has lost their way. Pray for them to become a new creation in the new year. Pray for men to say Yes to the retreat coming up and pray for yourselves to know the Glory of God.
