Psalms 100:3

"Know that the LORD is God, he made us, we belong to him, we are his people, the flock he shepherds."

The devil is always looking for ways to get to us.  He will stop at nothing to distract you, harm you, tempt you, it is you that must turn to God and ask for help.  He is calling but you must listen and follow. 

Life is always going to come at you but God is ever at your side.   He is the air you breathe, let Him shepherd you each day.  Let Him guard your steps, be open to Him.  A closed minded person will miss much in life. 

Lord God, we are your people, we belong to you and you have purpose for each of us.  Help us see and know the love You have for us.  Help us calm the storms in our lives.  Lord God, protect us and guide us into Your arms.  I ask this through Christ our Lord, amen.

John 15:16

"It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you."

You were each chosen personally by God for a purpose.  I do not believe there is happen chance in life, God has a plan.   If you are walking with Him, that plan is to glorify the Father. You were chosen to bear fruit for the Kingdom.   

God is calling you to rise above your circumstances in life.   Glorify Him with your life.  So when you ask the Father, He will give it to you because it will bear fruit for the Kingdom.   Remember you are part of the Kingdom so ask.  

Jesus, I come before you this morning and I ask that you heal those with addictions.  I ask that you heal those that are afflicted.   I ask that you heal Your people so they may glorify The Father.  I ask this in Your most holy name, Jesus, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 4-28-2016 Acts 15:16

Acts 15:16

"'After this I shall return and rebuild the fallen hut of David; from its ruins I shall rebuild it and raise it up again,"

We can really make a mess of our lives. Living life in a selfish way tears down the hut that God gave us. We think we know better and just go about living care free not realizing there is consequences to our actions.

That is why God sent His Son Jesus, so He can rebuild His hut. He needs a home to live within you. Are you ready to let Jesus help you in your journey. Just ask Him to help, He will never fail you, may not happen right away but He is right there rebuilding the temple His Father gave Him.

Lord God, we are a stubborn people, my prayer today is that you reach the unbelieving and selfish hearts and help them see You in action. Help them with their unbelief and wipe away their sin with Your blood. Heal those in need Lord and transforms their lives for Your glory. In Jesus name amen.

John 15:2

"He takes away every branch in me that does not bear fruit, and every one that does he prunes so that it bears more fruit."

Jesus the Master grower in your life. While walking with Jesus your life is being transformed. It doesn't happen over night but as long as you are walking you are being transformed. Your bad habits are going away and your good habits are being strengthened.

We are called to live our lives for Him, it is a simple decision. Will you let go and let Him prune your vine? Only God knows what you are truly capable of and you were created for greatness. Why get in the way, walk with the Master and be amazed.

Lord God, I hear your voice calling in the night. I will follow you, you do know how to produce much fruit. Bless us with Your presence Lord, give us hope for tomorrow. Enliven our spirits to those we come in contact with. Strengthen us Lord for the journey ahead. I ask this through Christ our Lord, Amen.

John 14:31

"but the world must know that I love the Father and that I do just as the Father has commanded me. Get up, let us go."

Does the world know that you love the Father? Do those around you know where you stand. Jesus always leads by example and He shows us the way. Being a warrior for Christ takes conviction, action and heart.

God commands us but does not force us. He has given each of us free will to choose. Share your faith with others, I believe it strengthens them knowing that someone is willing to stand up. We will be with the Father for eternity we may as well obey what He asks of us while alive.

Lord God, it is you that gives us strength, it is you that gives us wisdom. Help us get up and move towards you. Our hearts burn for you Lord God, help us recognize you in our daily lives. I pray for those in need this morning Lord, let them know they are loved. In Jesus name, amen.

1 Peter 5:7

"Cast all your worries upon him because he cares for you."

Do you ever wake up at night and find yourself worrying about stuff. Maybe it is work related or it is family related. The worrying doesn't do you any good other than give you a sleepless night.

Next time this happens give it to God. Ask Him to handle it for you. He knows what is best, He knows your future. Thank God for dealing with it and go back to sleep. Worry won't solve your problems but Jesus will if you trust Him.

Lord God, I thank you for dealing with my worries. I thank you for taking care of me and my family. Lord, I praise You with my life with action. Help us to trust in you and guide us to your salvation. I ask this through Christ our Lord, Amen.

Enjoy your week, God has it handled if you would trust in Him.

Acts 14:22

"They strengthened the spirits of the disciples and exhorted them to persevere in the faith, saying, "It is necessary for us to undergo many hardships to enter the kingdom of God.""

Do you encourage others or do you put them down? We are all called as children of God to strengthen the spirit of the disciples. I was at a wedding yesterday and the person having to say grace was nervous, very nervous. They did just fine when the time came, I made it a point to let them know.

It is never easy to go against the grain, to be just a little bit different. As Christians, that is what we are called to do. Let His spirit shine, don't take the easy way, take the road last traveled and be blessed with hardships.

Dear Lord God, we all face trials and tribulations in life. Give us strength to preserve, Help us see the road last traveled and choose it. Give us your grace to face the hardships and overcome the challenges. I thank you for your blessings and I thank you for your love. In Jesus name, amen.

"The words that I speak to you I do not speak on my own. The Father who dwells in me is doing his works."

Let His light shine. Jesus came to bring us life so that we live abundantly in His presence. It is Jesus living within you that gives you the ability to spread His word.

The world teaches us not to speak about faith, not to offend. Speak life to others, they need to see the gospel in action and you are the action. Remember it isn't you doing it but Jesus working through you. Glorify the Father with your life.

Lord God, there are many lost in the world. Give us courage to speak your word. Give us courage to put our faith into action. Keep us humble Lord and may we always glorify You. I ask this through Christ the Lord, Amen.

""Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God; have faith also in me."

Our day to day jobs can be a real challenge. There are tremendous pressures placed upon you to perform and produce with less and less. You have faith in God.

Do not let your hearts be troubled, turn to Jesus and ask for help and direction. Even though the challenges are still there, they don't impact you the same way. The seas become calm when you place your faith in Him.

Lord God, we try to hide our troubles with various things. Help us find our way to You. Help us put on the armor of God each day as we go into battle. Jesus be our protection and our Savior in the daily struggle. May we praise you Lord God with our actions. In Jesus name, Amen.

John 13:20

"Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever receives the one I send receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me.""

Our journey through life parallels God's word. You can be in the land of Egypt, lost in the desert or living in the promised land. The choice is yours, you get to decide where you are at.

Jesus is the promised land, He is your destiny. Think about where you are at in life and decide to receive Him. If life is seems hopeless, receive Him, if you are lost, receive Him. God is awesome, it will be way more than you ever expected, way more.

Lord God, what a great adventure you have set us on. Help each of us walk by faith and not by sight. Help us see and receive your message Lord God give hope to the hopeless and direction to the lost. You are an awesome God, fill us with Your Spirit, I ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

John 12:44

"Jesus cried out and said, "Whoever believes in me believes not only in me but also in the one who sent me,"

Can you feel Jesus's passion about His Father God?  He cries out, that is what I want to do this morning.  GOD, He loves you, I mean really really loves you.   The Guy that made the universe, created the stars and the heavens.  He loves you!

He Loves You, do you get it.  He made you!  As a wise old man told me, God doesn't make Junk.  You are made perfect in God's eyes, we are washed clean by His Son.   God did this for you!  WOW!!! WOW!  God did this just for you!!

Dear Father God, I do believe, I want to honor you with my life.  Thank you God for giving us Hope.  Thank you God for blessing us with Your Son.  Thank You God for opening our eyes to Your presence and Thank you God for your Holy Spirit.   Lord God Heal our hearts today and help us cry out as Your Son did.  I pray this through Christ the Lord, Amen.

Acts 11:23

"When he arrived and saw the grace of God, he rejoiced and encouraged them all to remain faithful to the Lord in firmness of heart,"

God's love is never ending, He always knows what is right and what the right course of action is.   I think that is His message today.  If you know in your heart you are doing what God is asking you, then press on, stay the course.  

The bumps in life are never easy especially when following God and He is making your paths straight, but God never gives up and neither should you.  He loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son so that we might have eternal life.  Now that is firmness of heart. 

Dear Lord, you know my desires and thoughts, that is my prayer this morning.  Help us stay the course Lord, help us see Your glory for our lives.  Give us peace in the middle of the storm and send us your grace in our times of need.  In Jesus name, Amen.

John 10:3

"The gatekeeper opens it for him, and the sheep hear his voice, as he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out."

Following the voice of God, what an awesome adventure. He will lead you to places you never imagined you were capable of going. You hear His voice in your heart. You feel His love in your heart.

Life is a journey that is meant to be lived to its fullest, this is only accomplished thru Christ. Life without Him is a lie, just look around you. Listen to what He tells you and follow His voice.

Lord God, I love you with all my heart. Lead me where you want me to go. Guide my steps and allow me to hear Your voice. Lord, I pray for those in need, may they hear you calling them by name and turn to you for the answer. In Jesus name, Amen.

John 10:30

"The Father and I are one."

Understanding the Trinity goes beyond human comprehension. We think we have it figured out and then realize there is so much more. They both desire the same end result for each of us. And that is for us to stand at the throne of God and praise Him.

Whether you realize it or not, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are all willing you to come home. The only other person in the equation is you. Our human nature can get in the way but as Jesus said "not my will but Yours be done". So in your times of need call out to Jesus and ask for Help.

Dear Lord God, I thank you for another day, I thank you for sending your Son to guide us home. I thank you for your blessings of rain. Help each of us realize that our true power is in You and the Father. May we never forget that. I ask this through Christ the Lord, Amen

John 6:63

"It is the spirit that gives life, while the flesh is of no avail. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and life."

There are times in our lives that we must make a decision.  Which path will we follow.  The world or flesh has nothing to offer other than death.  Look around you and just observe it.   There is no true happiness in the way of the world.  

The Spirit of God is life eternal.  It has every thing that you truly desire.   Why do we spend so much time being fed by the world and so little time on God's word.  The readings each day are full of life, they show us how to live even in this day and age.  

Come Holy Spirit, breath life into us, show us the way to life eternal.  Feed us God's holy word.   Give us the desire to learn and apply the Gospels in our lives.  Help us see our ways and make our paths straight.  I ask this through Christ our Lord, Amen.

Acts 9:17

"So Ananias went and entered the house; laying his hands on him, he said, "Saul, my brother, the Lord has sent me, Jesus who appeared to you on the way by which you came, that you may regain your sight and be filled with the holy Spirit.""

Saul's life changed dramatically when he encountered Jesus yet he was missing something. As you read today's readings you will see Saul is praying to God. I am sure he must of been bewildered at what was going on.

Saul was praying to regain his sight and unknown to him he was to "Be filled with the Holy Spirit". God works in mysterious ways, he always gives us more than we ask for.

Dear Lord God, you always give us more than we ask for. Your ways are always better than ours. May we be like Ananias and be a messenger of yours. May there be an out pouring of your Holy Spirit upon your people. Lord God watch over us and help us today to do Your will. In the name above every other name, Jesus.

"The Spirit said to Philip, "Go and join up with that chariot.""

We all need to be taught, we really can not rely upon our own understanding. What Chariot have you joined up with? Are you involved with a bible study someplace?

God's embrace is the Chariot I have joined. The insight and understanding that I have gained is tremendous. It helps on my daily journey, to learn more about me and my God. Find a chariot and don't ride alone.

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for your guidance. I thank you for understanding my own human weakness and I most especially thank you for Your Holy Spirit. Help each of us find a chariot so we maybe instructed on life's journey. In Jesus name, Amen.

Proverbs 4:13

"Hold fast to instruction, never let it go; keep it, for it is your life."

It is your life, life on earth is fleeting and whether we realize it or not we are constantly being bombarded with the message of the world.

God's instructions is a precious treasure, it needs to be nurtured and guarded. Proverbs is a good place to start for His instructions as well as Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

Dear Lord God, watch over us this day, protect us from the world. Help us come to know you more and more. Send us your Holy Spirit to be our guide. Give us the desire to hold fast to your instructions. I ask these things through Christ our Lord, amen.

Acts 8:1a

"Now Saul was consenting to his execution.

Saul, stood by and witnessed the stoning of Stephen. He didn't pick up a stone yet he didn't do anything to stop it. Stephen didn't do anything wrong other than speak the truth.

We have a responsibility to speak up when we see someone being unjustly accused. Our silence is also consenting to what is being said. Saul's silence weighed heavy on his conscience, it wasn't too long after this that he encountered Jesus.

Dear Lord God, give us words to speak when we are called upon. Help us see those that are being persecuted and act. Lord, thank you for sending us your Holy Spirit to guide us. Help us recognize that it is not us but you working through us. May we all live lives of living examples, through Christ our Lord, amen.

Have a blessed day, you are cherished more than you realize, He died for you.

John 6:27

"Do not work for food that perishes but for the food that endures for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him the Father, God, has set his seal.""

Do you ever just sit back and people watch. You get to see all walks of life, some with joy, some looking to make a dollar, some carrying a cross. How you live makes a difference.

We all have to work in the world. How you view and treat others is the key. Jesus looked upon others with compassion, he never viewed others as a way to make a living. His time had value, He never wasted it.

Lord God, we each have purpose in the world. Help us see how we are to live and build up food that endures for eternity. Help us look upon others as Jesus would. I thank you for this beautiful day that lays ahead. In Jesus name, Amen.

Lord Jesus, thank You for Your repeated promise to those who glorify Your mercy and encourage others to trust in Your mercy that You will shield them with Your mercy in the final battle. I pray that all those who are apostles of Divine Mercy would claim this powerful promise. - Sister Faustina

Revelations 5:12

"and they cried out in a loud voice: "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches, wisdom and strength, honor and glory and blessing.""

Worthy is the Lamb, we are blessed to be able to worship Him. No matter where you are at, you can walk into a Catholic Church and give Him praise. There is comfort in knowing you can walk through the doors and feel at home.

He suffered for each of us, He knows your trials, it is Jesus that is the answer. Be at peace when you see Him on the cross, He has fought your fight. Acknowledge Him today and give Him the praise for He is worthy.

Lord God, you blessed us with Your life, You give us everything. I thank You Lord God for opening my eyes. I thank You Lord God for Your blessings. I thank You Lord God for the peace, the beauty, the praise that You are sharing with us. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, amen.

John 6:21

"They wanted to take him into the boat, but the boat immediately arrived at the shore to which they were heading."
‭‭
Why would the disciples want to take Jesus into the boat if they were already at the shore? I don't think they were, yet they arrived so quickly. This is like our lives, we think we have time to accept Jesus yet in a blink of an eye our lives are over.

Don't wait to bring Jesus onboard, invite Him aboard. Let Him captain your life and enjoy His presence. He doesn't promise it will always be smooth sailing but it will always be a peaceful ride.

Dear Lord God, I love you. I enjoy your company in my life. I thank you for speaking to my heart and allowing me to hear you. Lord, help us to slow down so we can recognize you as you direct our lives. Bring peace to those who are in rough seas and allow us to have time with you. Jesus, I trust in you. Amen

"There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish; but what good are these for so many?"

Sometimes the problem seems over whelming that we think there is nothing we can do to help, even with what we have.  God tests us to see if we will help or walk away.  

Even with the little that you have God can do great things with it.  Get engaged and be part of the solution.  Use what you have and let Him multiple it, there is no telling what the outcome will be.

"He does not ration his gift of the Spirit."

With everything in the world, there is a limited qty, only so much, you can eventually run out. Our time is the same, yet the gift of the Holy Spirit is limitless. His gift never runs out, and you always have room for more.

God doesn't put limits on His gifts, we do. Do you ask God to send you His Holy Spirit. Do you stretch yourself to make more room for Him. Do you share His Gift? He never rations His Spirit and we must be open to receive. Ask and you shall receive.

Dear God, I thank You for not putting limits on Your Spirit. I thank You for Your blessings, Your graces and for Your guidance in all of our lives. Send us your Holy Spirit Lord God, set our hearts ablaze for You, and teach us to honor You during the day. Comfort those in need Lord God, and help us see when we need to ask, in Jesus name, Amen.

John 3:18

"Whoever believes in him will not be condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God."

We live in such a sea of humanity, as I look around, who chooses to believe and who doesn't. We all look the same no matter where we are in the world.

God gives each of us free will, on how to live our life, how to interact with others, what we think is important and what is not. I don't want to see anyone make the wrong decision.

Lord God, what a joy to see you in others, to see a sparkle in their eyes. Help me see where I can help.

"so must the Son of Man be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life."

As a Christian brother or sister, how do you lift up the cross?  What in your life tells others you believe.  Does your actions speak for Him.  Does your words speak for Him.  Do you speak with Him?

When I read this verse today this is how I read it.  We demonstrate His saving grace in our daily lives.  How do you expect to have eternal life if you don't walk with Him each day.  Some days He carries you, other days you walk together.

Dear Lord God, I do not know the outcome of today, I ask for strength to walk with you today.  Help me see ways to lift you up.  I pray for those whom you are carrying, my heart goes out to them.  Give them comfort Lord and give them the grace to lift You up so others may believe.  Jesus, I trust in you.

"so I said, "See; I come with an inscribed scroll written upon me. I delight to do your will, my God"

Doing God's will, how do I know I am doing it?  I follow my heart, if I get a sense to do something I follow that direction.  If it isn't right it will feel wrong.  Now that doesn't mean it will feel comfortable.  That's how God strengthens us. 

There is joy in following God's will, true joy.  There is peace in your day and there is growth in your spirit.  God's will is written on your heart, you just have to follow it.

John 20:25

"So the other disciples said to him, "We have seen the Lord." But he said to them, "Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands and put my finger into the nailmarks and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.""

The Lord God asks if you believe. Do you believe what is written in His good book. Do you believe all the signs and wonders that were done in His name? Then why the unbelief in our own lives.

We are all like Thomas in some way, we must see to believe. The faith of the Apostles brought many to believe. Is your faith bringing others to believe? Be bold, be convicted, call on the Lord to strengthen your faith.

Dear God, today is another day to draw closer to you. Help us where we are falling short in our lives and strengthen our faith. Be ever at our side Lord God and be with those that are struggling with pain and suffering, help them see You in their journey. I pray this in the name above ever other name, Jesus. Amen

Mark 16:15

"He said to them, "Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature."

He is risen! What a joy there is knowing that Jesus is risen and that He is risen within us. Now as He states, we are to go into the world and proclaim.

Live your life and talk about Jesus, watch what happens. Your joy increases, others joy increases. People want to know that He is alive and that you proclaim it. Your faith makes others stronger and you will witness and hear some remarkable things. Ask God to loosen your tongue.

Dear Heavenly Father, You are the creator of the world. It is You that gives us strength and desire. Increase our faith, wipe away our unbelief and makes us bold. Let us see You in action in our lives. Thank You for a good nights sleep and I look forward to what lies ahead. Amen.

Come Holy Spirit, give us strength.

John 21:5-6

"Jesus said to them, "Children, have you caught anything to eat?" They answered him, "No." So he said to them, "Cast the net over the right side of the boat and you will find something." So they cast it, and were not able to pull it in because of the number of fish."

There are times in our lives we need to be reminded that it is not us that can make things happen.  Is your way working, stop and ask yourself is it working?  I know I need help but I also need reminded to seek Him.  

Only Jesus can point you in the right direction.  Only He can tell you where to lower your net.  Go ahead and be Peter, fishing without direction and see where that will get you or maybe you have done that and you are ready for Christ to direct your life.  

O Holy God, O mighty One, You know I am weak and need help.  Guide me today in where and what I need to do and say.  You know my thoughts and desires, please fill the net Lord, tell me what to do.  I thank You for Your blessings and I thank You for peace in my heart and those that You and I love, in Your most holy name Jesus Amen.  

Come Holy Spirit.
