Isaiah 30:1-17 Forewarned



"For thus said the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel: By waiting and by calm you shall be saved, in quiet and in trust shall be your strength. But this you did not will. "No," you said, "Upon horses we will flee." Very well, you shall flee! "Upon swift steeds we will ride." Very well, swift shall be your pursuers!"  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭30:15-16‬

Isaiah 30:1-17  Forewarned.  Isaiah forewarns the people, gives them good counsel but like most of us we do not wait upon the Lord and take matters into our own hands and we are told what the outcome will be.  Wait and stay calm, the walls are encroaching is the hardest time to wait and to stay calm, our emotions want to take over.  Don't react, stay calm is God's counsel.  Quiet and trust is your strength, isn't that true, it gives you time to think and realize God is in charge.  We want to respond but God says to remain quiet and allow Him to work.  His outcome is best, by pushing forward the outcome is yours and is filled with strife.  Wait upon the Lord, He will tell you when to go.  

What is God saying to me:  Listen

Dear Lord, give us the strength to wait and be still, to remain calm and trust in Your plan.  You warn us what happens when we do not listen and do not wait, the outcome does not bring peace or joy.  Sitting in your counsel brings perspective and allows us to look into situations.  I am thankful for what Your word reveals, strength comes from waiting upon You, lead the way Lord.  Prayers for our country that is being stirred up, may we not get caught up in this strife but trust in You for the outcome.  Thank You Father for the beautiful days and refreshing breezes. Isaiah 29:17-24 Be Teachable



"Therefore thus says the LORD, the God of the house of Jacob, who redeemed Abraham: No longer shall Jacob be ashamed, no longer shall his face grow pale. For when his children see the work of my hands in his midst, They shall sanctify my name; they shall sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, be in awe of the God of Israel."  Isaiah‬ ‭29:22-23‬

Isaiah 29:17-24  Be Teachable.  I was blind but now I see.  You go through life and face all kind of things because God is in the back seat, you haven't given Him His rightful place.  Then one day you recognize His call, you humble yourself in His presence and you become teachable.  Be teachable is my recommendation even if you have doubts, be willing to listen and see how your choices impact your life and those around you.  God reaches out but doesn't move until we reach back, when you figure out that your way isn't what is best.  Be in awe of the Holy One of Israel and see God at work. 

What is God saying to me:  I hear you and I Am trying, he is not alone.  

Dear Father, I am so thankful that life knocked me around to where I began to listen and see the mighty works of Your hands.  My prayer is to always be teachable, to hear Your call and allow You to sanctify my life through everyday circumstances.  Thank You Father for time to visit, for memories of my youth and for hope in my heart.  Prayers for hearts to be softened so they may see the glory of You in their lives and appreciate the gifts that You give.  Watch over a friend recovering from surgery, heal his heart Lord for you know the pain it has endured.  I ask this in Your Holy Name, Amen.

Isaiah 29:9-16 Trust in Him



"Your perversity is as though the potter were taken to be the clay: As though what is made should say of its maker, "He did not make me!" Or the vessel should say of the potter, "He does not understand.""  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭29:16‬

Isaiah 29:9-16  Trust in Him.  What prophets are amongst us sending the warning.  Are we heeding what is being said.   Do our actions speak of the Lord and our love for the Triune God or are they empty.  "The Lord said: Since this people draws near with words only and honors me with their lips alone, though their hearts are far from me, And fear of me has become mere precept of human teaching,". ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭29:13‬  Do our actions tell God how it is going to be?  After all it is 2020 and how can He expect us to live a virtuous life?  Funny how God speaks of just this thing 2900 years ago, the people of that time in their actions were saying "He does not understand."  What are your actions saying to God?  Tell God your plans and He will laugh at you, ask God how to move forward and He will guide you.  Be the clay not the potter in your life.  

What is God saying to me:  I Am leading, there is a reason it is called faith, you are not walking blindly.  

Dear Father, You are the Potter, I am the clay, following Your gentle direction.  My heart is not hardened, it is pliable and ready for what this day has to offer.  You know my tomorrow and I only think I do, continue the lessons in faith, this is how we learn to trust in Your divine providence.  Prayers for a family that buried a father, console their loss with fond memories of good times.  Thank You Lord for leading, may my words and actions be of the same heart, Yours.   In Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 29:1-9 Emptiness



"As when a hungry man dreams he is eating and awakens with an empty stomach, Or when a thirsty man dreams he is drinking and awakens faint, his throat parched, So shall the horde of all the nations be, who make war against Mount Zion."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭29:8‬

Isaiah 29:1-9  Emptiness.  Thou hast made us for thyself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it finds its rest in thee.  Saint Augustine of Hippo.  Emptiness Rebellion, we can rebell against the Lord, not heed His voice and turn our back on Truth.  Our hearts yearn for the Truth and is only satisfied when we receive it, especially physically.  The Lord speaks to

us as we sleep, the dreams of being satisfied are there to remind us what we are missing when we awake to the reality of emptiness, of the choices that we are making to ignore Truth.  

There is nothing better than being satisfied by the Bread of Life and drink from the Living Waters of Jesus Christ at Mass.  

What is God saying to me:  Truth is not to be denied.  

Dear Father, there is such Joy in receiving You physically and being in Your presence, here, I am satisfied and nourished to go into the world and do Your will.  There is nothing lacking when we honor and worship You with all our heart, mind and soul.  Lord, I pray for our priests who are speaking truth and calling the faithful home, bless their words to impact hearts.  Thank You for Your blessed assurance as we enjoy the day You have given us.  I ask this in the name above every other name, Jesus Christ, Amen.

Isaiah 28:23-29 Friendship



"Give ear and hear my voice, pay attention and hear my word:

This too comes from the LORD of hosts; wonderful is his counsel and great his wisdom."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭28:23, 29‬

Isaiah 28:23-29  Friendship. The parable of the farmer, he listens to God, his instructions come from the Lord.  Can the farmer make the crop grow, no God does that.  But he must prepare the ground, make the rows, harvest the crop, crush the grain.  In our discipleship, can we make it grow, no God does that.  "Give ear and hear my voice, pay attention and hear my word:  Isaiah 28:23. The farmer listened and used the wisdom given by God along with His counsel.  The friendship that we have with our Heavenly Father enables us to listen and hear.  We realize that we are doing His will and He is responsible for the fruit.  

What is God saying to me:  I Am in control, you just tend the field and listen.  Trust in My voice.  

Dear Lord, we live in a fast paced world with lots of voices that seek to distract us from the truth.  Guard our hearts and attune our ears to hear You clearly.  Thank You for the blessings and the opportunities for growth.  There is a peace when the result belongs to You as long as I am obedient to Your voice.  Increase the farmers Lord, may they be drawn to You and the truth our hearts desire.  Prayers for this day and Your will.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 28:7-22 Good sheep



"Yes, with stammering lips and in a strange language he will speak to this people, to whom he said: "This is the resting place, give rest to the weary; And this is the place of repose"— but they refused to hear. So for them the word of the LORD shall be: "Command on command, command on command, Rule on rule, rule on rule, here a little, there a little!" So that when they walk, they shall stumble backward, broken, ensnared, and captured."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭28:11-13‬

Isaiah 28:7-22  Good sheep.  "My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me."  ‭‭John‬ ‭10:27‬  Be teachable by the Holy Spirit.  Reading God's word and grasping the message is not easy, it requires removing yourself from the world and enjoying the simplicity of just you and God.  You would think Isaiah was talking about strong drink.  "But these also stagger from wine and stumble from strong drink: Priest and prophet stagger from strong drink, overpowered by wine; They are confused by strong drink, they stagger in their visions, they totter when giving judgment."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭28:7‬  And he could be but another way to look at it is our senses can be overloaded from our environment, the busyness of life and God's voice isn't heard.  His word can seem like a bunch of rules and commands that we think are hard to follow.  And therefore we don't listen and stumble back and forth hurting ourselves like a drunk person.  When we remove ourselves from the world and listen to the Good Shepherd without all the distractions then we hear.  He gives us the grace to listen for we are not under the influence of all the stuff.  There is but one voice to hear and that is His, the stillness is a blessing from God.  Make the time, being drunk in the world is the waste of a good life.  

What is God saying to me:  

Dear Father, I am thankful this morning for what You are doing, it is amazing.  I am thankful for the real life experiences  that You give and Your perfect timing.  The world can be intoxicating and we need to know this so we do not fall into the trap.  Prayers for a friend helping his mother as she prepares for new life in You, may Your will be done and Your glory shine through.  Bless this day Lord, and thank You for allowing me to listen. Amen.

Isaiah 28:1-6 An unguarded house



"On that day the LORD of hosts will be a glorious crown And a brilliant diadem for the remnant of his people, A spirit of judgment for the one who sits in judgment, And strength for those who turn back the battle at the gate."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭28:5-6‬

Isaiah 28:1-6  An unguarded house.  God warns us in these verses that we can get lulled into a false sense of security.  "The fading blooms of his glorious beauty at the head of the fertile valley Will be like an early fig before summer: whoever sees it, swallows it as soon as it is in hand."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭28:4‬  When our hope and trust is placed in our own abilities and results, we are ripe for the picking, in fact we won't even see it coming until it is too late.  How do you guard your house?  Prayer, Eucharistic adoration, spending time with God, a Sacramental life    My feet hit the floor this morning and before I begin the day, I put on the armor of God.  David ran into the battle knowing that God has his back and he defeated Goliath.  Do not enter your day and be unguarded, God commands it.  He is your glorious crown.  

What is God saying to me:  I respond when you ask, learn to ask more, the battle is mine, you are My feet.  

Dear Lord, I see the victory as the battle approaches, we will face many struggles but You are always by our side. Awaken those that are asleep or are oblivious to what is going in their midst.  I pray for hearts to be softened and not hardened.  Pharaoh rejected You and his heart was hardened only to be defeated.  It is all there in Your word for all to read.  Prayers for this day and good decisions to be made with You leading.  Thank You Father for the desire You place within my heart.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen

Isaiah 27 - On That Day





"On that day, A great trumpet shall blow, and the lost in the land of Assyria and the outcasts in the land of Egypt Shall come and worship the LORD on the holy mountain, in Jerusalem."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭27:13‬

Isaiah 27 - On That Day.  How will you react when you hear the great trumpet?  When we all hear the great trumpet?  "And he will send out his angels with a trumpet blast, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other."‭‭ Matthew‬ ‭24:31‬  Will it be a time of jubilation or will it be a time of fear and unknowing?  I pondered that all morning, which one of the servants will I be who was given the talents and the Master has returned.  We are each called to do the will of the Father, ignore Him and the Sound of the trumpet will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up.  Do His will to the best of your ability and watch as your heart skips a beat knowing the long awaited day is here, the Bridegroom has returned. There is nothing to fear as you examine your life, are you doing what is being asked of you?  Are you living with a Holy fear of the one who sits upon the holy mountain.  

What is God saying to me:

Dear Father, "that day" is not here yet but It does approach.  We operate within time but You do not, will our last breath be when we hear the great trumpet and be called to the holy mountain.  In our daily struggles Lord, give us the strength to endure the challenges of the day and the trickery of the evil one.  Help us recognize the temptations that are placed in our way to trip us up.  Prayers for a friend in search of a job, doing Your will, may he find Peace within the struggle.  Thank You for the life giving rain as it penetrates the dirt.  Bless this day Father and use me where You need me, Amen.

Isaiah 26:20-21 Change



"Go, my people, enter your chambers, and close the doors behind you; Hide yourselves for a brief moment, until the wrath is past."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭26:20‬

Isaiah 26:20-21  Change.  The night of the passover, God's people went behind closed doors as God's wrath passed by.  Noah and his family went behind closed doors as God washed the earth and protected them.  When they came out of their homes, everything had changed, life was not the same.  We too have been told to stay home, be safe until the wrath has passed.  We too are experiencing new life when we came out, life is different.  Do we heed these warnings and see God at work in our lives or do we try and go back to what was normal?  God seeks our attention in these moments, He desires a deeper relationship so when these events happen, we do not fear but recognize the new life that is coming.  God does not forsake us during these times, His hope is that we sit still and listen as the world that controls our life is quieted, then He can be heard for the journey ahead and the new life that awaits.  If we are willing to change.  

What is God saying to me: There is safety in familiar surroundings and quiet confidence when we sit in the stillness and listen.  This is where My Peace is heard. 

Dear Lord God, You always find a way to speak to my heart even when it doesn't seem possible.  I thank You for the stillness in our quiet place, where we can sit and listen to each other.  Prayers for a friend feeling discomfort, You are making all things new.  As we go into the world today, may we take You with us Lord and not leave this place of comfort.  Blessings upon this day and what it has to hold for each of us, in Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 26:1-19 The state of Grace



"The course of your judgments, LORD, we await; your name and your memory are the desire of our souls. My soul yearns for you at night, yes, my spirit within me seeks you at dawn; When your judgment comes upon the earth, the world's inhabitants learn justice."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭26:8-9‬

Isaiah 26:1-19  The state of Grace.  God's people live in a state of Peace.  The fight is all around them but they trust in God.  "Trust in the LORD forever! For the LORD is an eternal Rock."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭26:4‬  We can get drawn into the fight and believe that it is our efforts that gains the victory and the peace.  It is in trusting in God, being willing to listen to His calming voice and knowing that He has all under control.  The Talking heads stir the people into a frenzy, is this the will of God?  No.  Salvation is gained in our obedience to the One True God and living in His presence.  Guard your actions against His will, His actions are always done with love, there is no malice or self serving thoughts in His actions.  We are all God's children even those you do not agree with.  He loves each equally and seeks salvation for all.  Unfortunately, not all will choose the better path and will learn of His Justice.  Be blessed this Sunday, God is love, live there and not in the world.  

What is God saying to me:  My Son faced the same world in political turmoil, yet He lived in Peace.  

Dear Father God, there is joy in being in Your presence, in watching Your faithful servant carry out his priestly duty.  Help each of us find this state of Grace that is in obedient servitude to You, not out of fear but out of love.  Prayers for our country Father that is pushing back on our civil liberties and thinking they are gods.  Prayers for those who can not be in Your holy presence, may their voices be heard as they seek You.  Thank You Father for this quiet cool morning and the graces You are giving.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 25:10-12 The sin of pride



"For the hand of the LORD will rest on this mountain, but Moab will be trodden down as straw is trodden down in the mire. He will spread out his hands in its midst, as a swimmer spreads out his hands to swim; His pride will be brought low despite his strokes. The high-walled fortress he will raze, bringing it low, leveling it to the ground, to the very dust."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭25:10-12‬

Isaiah 25:10-12  The sin of pride.  Within the fortified wall, the viewpoint is ours.  Does it pass the judgement of God?  G.K. Chesterton has said, "Pride is the falsification of fact by the introduction of self,".  If we are going against the will of God, we are destined for failure.  I Am reminded that our actions should be done with love, not love of self but the love that God shares.  It isn't a self serving love but a love that serves others to bring them into relationship with The Father.  He will root out the things of the heart that interfere with your own deeper relationship.  

What is God saying to me: You are listening and seeing things from My viewpoint.  Rose colored glasses will get in the way.  

Dear Lord God, there is a depth to Your teaching, it isn't just sitting at your feet but through out our entire day.  I thank You for this relationship and the perception to see beyond our morning prayer.  You are loving Father guiding His children to truth, not their own truth but truth that sets us free.   Prayers for a dear friend aging graciously who knows how to live in Your presence.  May we learn these same lessons as we grow older and continue to the Wedding Banquet.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 25:1-9 Heaven on Earth



"He will destroy death forever. The Lord GOD will wipe away the tears from all faces; The reproach of his people he will remove from the whole earth; for the LORD has spoken. On that day it will be said: "Indeed, this is our God; we looked to him, and he saved us! This is the LORD to whom we looked; let us rejoice and be glad that he has saved us!""  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭25:8-9‬

Isaiah 25:1-9  Heaven on Earth.  "and he saved us!" captures my attention, it is in the past tense, it has already happened.  "For you have made the city a heap, the fortified city a ruin, The castle of the insolent, a city no more, not ever to be rebuilt."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭25:2‬  What city is Isaiah speaking of?  I see the heart, our own hearts.  The definition of insolent is lack of respect, do our hearts reflect the joy that God gives us or does it still have walls built up in an effort to protect itself.  Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven resides in the heart, if Christ resides there then it is Heaven.  Examine the fortified city, who is King within, your actions and words will be the judge.  

What is God saying to me: you place yourself on the throne and you feel the ill effects of that.  Be conscious of your actions and your words, I will sit upon the throne, it is My rightful place, when I Am there, there is no sin.  

Dear Father, You open up mysteries within Your word, I am thankful for Your grace that You give each of us.  I am blessed to know friends that even in their silence are great teachers.  You know I have much to learn and each day is an opportunity to put into practice the joys of Your Spirit.  Reveal the areas of my heart that needs addressed, remove the sin that does not belong there, I give You full authority to be the King of my heart, You know what is best, I only think I do.  Prayers for a friend recovering from back surgery, bless his day with joy.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Isaiah 24 - Apocalyptic



"These shall lift up their voice, they shall sing for joy in the majesty of the LORD, they shall shout from the western sea: "Therefore, in the east give glory to the LORD! In the coastlands of the sea, to the name of the LORD, the God of Israel!""  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭24:14-15‬

Isaiah 24 - Apocalyptic.  Can we experience hope in the midst of destruction?  Isaiah seen a time that was devastating.  As you read Isaiah 24, it reads like  this day and age.    "Broken down is the city of chaos, every house is shut against entry. In the streets they cry out for lack of wine; all joy has grown dim, cheer is exiled from the land. In the city nothing remains but desolation, gates battered into ruins."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭24:10-12.  Yet in the midst of this despair, there is hope, there is a joy of who is coming.  ‬Our troubles do not last forever for within desolation is the seeds of resurrection.  Some of the most valuable lessons I learned was during trials and from these I grew, I changed to be a better person.  Look East and rejoice, better days are ahead, God wills it, those with vision will see this even in the midst of chaos.  

What is God saying to me: There is Hope for the hopeless and Joy for the joyless.  

Dear Father God, Your word is filled with truth, it doesn't live only in history but it is alive today.  There is a joy of knowing what is around the corner, the Son always shines after a storm.  Help the blind to see, awake the dead to live again.  Thank You Father for what You are doing for those who are living within You, we are experiencing Heaven on earth.  Prayers for healing for someone who is sick, prayers for truth to be revealed in a situation.  Thank You Father for always having perfect timing.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 23 - Restoration



"At the end of the seventy years the LORD shall visit Tyre. She shall return to her hire and serve as prostitute with all the world's kingdoms on the face of the earth. But her merchandise and her hire shall be sacred to the LORD. It shall not be stored up or laid away; instead, her merchandise shall belong to those who dwell before the LORD, to eat their fill and clothe themselves in choice attire."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭23:17-18‬

Isaiah 23 - Restoration.   The port city Tyre is destroyed, it believed in its own success and this was its down fall.  The world convinced it how great and powerful it was, this was its destruction.  We all have gifts and talents given to us by God, we can use them for God or for self.  The port city was restored and began again to be a center of enterprise for the benefit of God's people.  "Entrust your works to the LORD, and your plans will succeed."  ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭16:3‬  We are to go into the world but not be transformed by it.  Jesus ate with sinners but did not become sin himself.  When we take God everywhere we go and recognize that the results are his and his alone, we are doing His will, our needs will be provided for.  "Do not conform yourselves to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect. For by the grace given to me I tell everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than one ought to think, but to think soberly, each according to the measure of faith that God has apportioned."  ‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:2-3‬  Be restored through the will of God.  

What is God saying to me:  Walk in Faith

Dear Father, sometimes we need destruction to get our priorities in line with Your will.  You created us in Your image and likeness but our own flawed nature begins to believe the results are our own.  Walking with You and not concerned with the result, You always provide.  Thank You Father for the beautiful people who share their lives in humble ways that reveals Your truth in scripture.  I see You restoring hope and peace within souls.   Bless this day Father, help us commit our ways to You.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 22:15-25 Authority



"I will clothe him with your robe, gird him with your sash, confer on him your authority. He shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah. I will place the key of the House of David on his shoulder; what he opens, no one will shut, what he shuts, no one will open."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭22:21-22‬

Isaiah 22:15-25  Authority.  Authority is kept through obedience to our Father in Heaven and lost by serving self and not God.  Isaiah speaks of Jesus carrying the key to Heaven.  It was closed to us when Adam disobeyed his Father, Jesus opened Heaven to us to never be shut again, He bore it all for us.  He also passes on His authority in Apostolic succession when He gave this authority to Peter.  "And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.""  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭16:18-19‬ ""To the angel of the church in Philadelphia, write this: "'The holy one, the true, who holds the key of David, who opens and no one shall close, who closes and no one shall open, says this: "'"I know your works (behold, I have left an open door before you, which no one can close). You have limited strength, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name."  ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭3:7-8‬  It is our obedience to the Father that gains us entry and it is our sin that denies His existence.  You have limited strength, Jesus doesn't, greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.  1 John 4:4b. Be obedient accept His authority and live forever.  

What is God saying to me: Breathe, just be in this moment together.  

Dear Lord, it is knowing the past that we see the future, Your Son knew the past and could see the future as it approached.  I thank You for the insights into Your word and the way You are teaching me.  There is so much there but You give bite size pieces that build upon each other.  Continue to instruct me Father with Your Holy Spirit, and lead the way.  Prayers for friends that are sick, You are the Great Healer of body and soul.   May we be obedient to Your will and not deny You in actions.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 22:1-14 A Shaking



"It is a day of panic, rout and confusion, from the Lord, the GOD of hosts, in the Valley of Vision Walls crash; a cry for help to the mountains."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭22:5‬

Isaiah 22:1-14  A Shaking.  Isaiah, the prophet, sees a future where God's people have placed their hope and trust into things, into walls of security but not in their creator.  He sees a day of panic when their mountains come crashing in on them, their human made walls crash, they are lost.  What walls do we put up, financial?Weapons?  Stocked Supplies?  When we place our hope and trust in things and not in God, we are destined for a day of panic and confusion.  It is easy to fall victim to the ways of this world but as Christians we are called to look to the Lord, to trust Him.  We are being shaken, you can see it with fires and the uncertainty in the world.  Place your trust in God and live in peace, even in the storm.  

What is God saying to me:

Dear Father, it is a beautiful morning to sit and ponder Your word.  To look at my life and see the walls I place my trust in.   Our lives here are but a moment in time and we are to learn to trust in You and to love You with all our heart, our mind and soul.  Increase this knowledge of Your love Lord, that we may serve You, and remove the walls that interfere with Your will.  Prayers for a newborn in ICU, make her healthy Lord and give her parents peace.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 21:13-17 Safehaven



"Oracle: in the steppe: In the thicket in the steppe you will spend the night, caravans of Dedanites. Meet the thirsty, bring them water, inhabitants of the land of Tema, greet the fugitives with bread. For they have fled from the sword, from the drawn sword; From the taut bow, from the thick of battle."  Isaiah‬ ‭21:13-15‬

Isaiah 21:13-17  Safehaven.  I recall a time, I went to the thicket late at night.  I was battle weary, running scared, my thirst was quenched and I was fed.  This thicket was in front of the tabernacle that houses the Bread of Life.  My prayers were answered in many different ways.  I see the hungry and thirsty in the fight seeking a safe place, a place to get away from the fight.  The thicket is an awesome place, open to all, just you and God.  As this world spins faster and faster, the security you seek is found in Jesus Christ.  He quenches you're thirst and with daily prayer, an attentive ear, He gives you ever lasting life even in a world that appears to be falling apart.  Order will come out of this chaos for God is in charge, go to the thicket.  

What is God saying to me:  I have spoken, you see that today, in that moment of life, you were blind to My reality, today you are living My reality.  Heaven on earth with a few bumps.  

Dear Lord God, I thank You for this memory and for Your reassurance as I sleep.  There is a joy that can not be described when we know we are doing Your will.  I pray for those fleeing the fires, I pray for those shooting arrows inflicting pain upon themselves.  Love In truth is the only response that brings us peace.  Thank You Father for some amazing people I get to hang with, continue to bless them with Peace and Joy that surpasses all understanding.  You are working all things out.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 21:11-12 Watchman



"Oracle on Dumah: They call to me from Seir, "Watchman, how much longer the night? Watchman, how much longer the night?" The watchman replies, "Morning has come, and again night. If you will ask, ask; come back again.""  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭21:11-12‬

""Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you."  Matthew‬ ‭7:7‬  Have you ever sought answer to prayer and you are waiting for God's response only to miss it.  Maybe you didn't recognize God's answer, you were looking for your own answer but God has something different in mind.  In the darkness of unknowing do we wait patiently and attentively, ready to act upon the answer.  Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. 1 John 4:4b.  The watchmen is God, He is the One we call out to, with Him in the inside we are always prepared to respond.  Listen for the Watchmen, be ready for morning, it does approach and the Son will be bright, preparing the day.

What is God saying to me:  Listen, I do respond but you have to wait for the proper time.  There is a reason for My timing, it is always perfect

Dear Father, it was a great day Father, a little slow in starting, not always knowing what You are saying but I waited patiently for Your reply.  You see beyond the night and are preparing us for a brighter tomorrow.  There is such joy in watching You at work, to hear Your voice and know that in all situations, You are in charge.  Father, I know You are at work, raising the flag, and preparing hearts to listen and respond when it is morning.  Prayers for this country that is being divided, bit by bit, may we recognize Your will for our lives, hear Your call and be on guard with the Watchmen.  Prepare us for the night, it may be long, it maybe dark but You are always there to respond when we call out.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 21:1-10 Valley of Tears



"To you, who have been threshed, beaten on my threshing floor, What I have heard from the LORD of hosts, The God of Israel, I have announced to you."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭21:10‬

Isaiah 21:1-10  Valley of Tears.  "and, after he had given thanks, broke it and said, "This is my body that is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.""  ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭11:24‬  Do you know how wheat is threshed out?  How the wheat is separated from the shaft.  It is beaten till the grain falls off of the stalk and then tossed in the air and the wind blows the stalk pieces away.  Do you offer your body as a living sacrifice on the threshing floor?  Or do you live for self?  If it is self then more threshing is needed, God will produce the yield He desires or we will fall like Babylon.  On that Day, all of Babylon will fall and Jesus will come riding on a horse, until then keep your shields oiled (Prayer), it isn't an easy world.  

What is God saying to me:  Keep on

Dear Father, I wait for that day, until then You are the Potter and I Am the clay.  I see the hardships that we put ourselves in, I see the challenges and You know what my spirit desires.  You are Loving God and know what is best for us.  Prayers for Your family Father that works in the fields, helping produce the grain.  Prayers for a family who losses a loved one, he is at the table of plenty, dining with You, no longer in this valley of tears.  Thank You Father for giving of Yourself this morning and preparing me for the day, our shield is oiled and arrows in our quivers.  Jesus, I trust in You, Amen.

Isaiah 20: Calm yourself



"The inhabitants of this coastland shall say on that day, "See what has happened to those we hoped in, to whom we fled for help and deliverance from the king of Assyria! What escape is there for us now?"" ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭20:6‬

Isaiah 20: Calm Yourself.  A people seeking security, ignored the voice of God, they did not listen, they grabbed a hold of the first sign of security only to be led away in captivity.  Isaiah listened to God and did exactly as He asked.  I love the stillness of the morning, it helps me connect with God and we talk.  His message is to trust in Him and Him alone, even in the not knowing what tomorrow brings we are to trust in Him.  What seems like security is but a trap to lead you away.  Sitting in the stillness, though nothing is said, God shows the way.  Trust God, not man, a message for this day and time.  

What is God saying to me: They can not take away your joy, only you can give it away, trust in Me.

Dear Lord God, what seems like security in this world is a trap that seeks to steal our joy.  You are our Joy, in You we place our hope and trust in.  In the quiet of the day, You lead us with Your reassuring voice and we know all will be well for You are God, Mighty God.  I thank You Father for this hope and this trust, though the way isn't clear, the end is clear.  Prayers for plans to come together, prayers for insights into things unknown and prayers for Your voice to be heard in the quiet of our hearts.  Security is only found when we trust in You alone.  Thank You Father for this day and the desire to do Your will, I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 19 - Reconciliation



"Oracle on Egypt: See, the LORD is riding on a swift cloud on his way to Egypt; The idols of Egypt tremble before him, the hearts of the Egyptians melt within them. I will stir up Egypt against Egypt: brother will war against brother, Neighbor against neighbor, city against city, kingdom against kingdom."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭19:1-2‬

Isaiah 19 - Reconciliation.  Isaiah, a prophet, sees into the future, he sees the time of fulfillment but to get there he sees the trials one must go through.  Life is to prepare us for Heaven, it is a spiritual struggle for you are wanted.  God always gives us a way out, He doesn't stir up strife without the solution.  He sent Moses to set the captives free, He brings us Jesus to follow.  Nothing happens without God's knowledge, rest in this confidence that there is a plan and it will be a glorious victory.  Today in my Catholic Faith we celebrate the Feast of the Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary.  Without Mary, there would be no Jesus.  Jesus entered the world through Mary, a swift cloud, that changed the world forever.  "On that day Israel shall be a third party with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing in the midst of the earth, when the LORD of hosts gives this blessing: "Blessed be my people Egypt, and the work of my hands Assyria, and my heritage, Israel.""

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭19:24-25‬  On that day we will all know the truth and it will set you a free.  

What is God saying to me: My plan takes time

Dear Father, You see brother against brother, all created by You.  Why can we not see what You see, all created in the image and likeness of You.  Until that day Father may we take to heart Your words and look for its meaning in our lives.  You seek a world united and honoring You in love, not a world divided by chaos.  Watch over us this day Father, I thank You for Your insight into the day.  Bless our efforts and plant us on fruitful soil this day, Amen.

Isaiah 18 - The Conquering Army



"Then will gifts be brought to the LORD of hosts—to the place of the name of the LORD of hosts, Mount Zion—from a people tall and bronzed, from a people dreaded near and far, a nation strong and conquering, whose land is washed by rivers."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭18:7‬

Isaiah 18 - The Conquering Army.   The Israelites conquered the Egyptians without lifting a finger.  The Christians conquered the Roman Empire without lifting a finger through martyrdom.  Jesus conquered the world on the cross without putting up a fight.  A nation strong and conquering does not rely upon its own strength, it places its trust in Yahweh.  Isaiah speaks of events of his time but once again they hold true for this day and age.  Place your trust in God and Him alone, do not fear the dark of night and fight the battle without putting up a fight.  In the end God triumphs.  

What is God saying to me:  The battle is Mine, be obedient to My voice.  

Dear Father, the imagery You paint through Your Saints stands time, it speaks through the ages and allows us to see how we are to respond in Love.  Father Thank You for a beautiful morning, enjoying the sounds of family and family life.  Help us live in the here and now, may we realize that with You, all is well.  Without You, we are buzzard food, according to Your word.  "They shall all be left to the mountain vultures and to the beasts of the earth; The vultures shall summer on them, all the beasts of the earth shall winter on them."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭18:6‬  God, You are the choice that saves and helps us grow strong in Your presence.  Bless this day, grow the seed that we plant this day for Your glory.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 17 - Turn to Me



"On that day people shall turn to their maker, their eyes shall look to the Holy One of Israel.

Truly, you have forgotten the God who saves you, the Rock, your refuge, you have not remembered. Therefore, though you plant plants for the Pleasant One, and set out cuttings for a foreign one,"  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭17:7, 10‬

Isaiah 17 - Turn to Me.  There is something about the words "on that day" that captures my attention.  In a sense it refers to the judgement day when all man kind will know the existence of our Sovereign God.  It also can refer to a day that we realized that God is real and we turn to Him and let Him in   

 

"Only gleanings shall be left in it, as when an olive tree has been beaten— Two or three olives at the very top, four or five on its most fruitful branches— oracle of the LORD, the God of Israel."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭17:6‬   I see the olive tree being shaken, do God's people recognize God shaking the tree, it is happening before our eyes.  Do we turn to the Holy One of Israel to be our rock, to give us strength to hold on or do we have some other god that we turn to?  Do not be abandoned on that day, be brought home to the Father with open arms.  

What is God saying to me:  I call My family home, I welcome them in My house, My covenant will not be denied for I Am Love.  

Dear Father, there is such joy in receiving You, body, soul and divinity.  This fullness of truth is available to all when they place their trust and hope in You.  The spiritual graces we receive can not be seen but we are given food for the journey.  You are the Holy One of Israel and I Am Yours.  Prayers for those on the fringes being shaken and not even knowing it is happening.  I do not know what tomorrow brings but I Am Yours, the Rock of my world.  Bless this day Father and for family get togethers, thank You for the memories and good times.  These are pleasing to the both of us.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 16:1-14 know justice know Peace



"Let the outcasts of Moab live with you, be their shelter from the destroyer. When there is an end to the oppressor, when destruction has ceased, and the marauders have vanished from the land, A throne shall be set up in mercy, and on it shall sit in fidelity, in David's tent, A judge upholding right, prompt to do justice."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭16:4-5‬

Isaiah 16:1-14 know justice know Peace.  Isaiah sees the plight of the people, he sees those that are not wanted, that are rejected and he encourages the people of Judah to take them in.  He awaits the coming of the Messiah knowing that life will be better, it will fair and all will be treated equally.  The sins of the world will have been put to an end.  Today, I see the plight of the people, I see a band of marauders yelling at each other.  I see those that are outcast and rejected by their own people.  What are we to do?   A world without God is not thriving, a world with God is beautiful.  I too await the coming of the Lord, when we will all know Justice and we will all know Peace, for He will be in front of us.  Until that day, all we can do is pray for each other, that the will of God be done thru us.  Have a blessed day and be thankful for what you have even if it is not much there are others with less.   The Moab's were not thankful and lost it all.  

What is God saying to me: 

Dear Father, I thank You for this day Lord, I thank You for all that You are doing in this world.  You as well see the turmoil, help us know Peace, help us be kind to each other, to be loving to those that are in need.  I thank You for Your Divine wisdom in working all things out, for bringing order to the chaos, I just wish it didn't take so long.  Prayers for a friend battling cancer, breath peace into her soul.  Prayers for a little boy who got badly hurt, You know the answer to these challenges.  Prayers for a young man walking in faith, strengthen him for the journey you have him on, it will not be a easy one.  Bless this day Father, keep us safe and be ever close to us, Amen.

Isaiah 15:1-8 Destruction



"My heart cries out for Moab, his fugitives reach Zoar, Eglath-shelishiyah: The ascent of Luhith they ascend weeping; On the way to Horonaim they utter rending cries;". ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭15:5‬

Isaiah 15:1-8  Destruction. Moab is a pagan kingdom, they did not follow God.  Isaiah seea the coming dangers for Moab in this chapter, he sees the desolation that will be unleashed upon them.  As believers, you as well see the fate of those who follow false gods.  Does your heart cry out for them?  Do you want them to know what you know.  They have a relationship with these false gods but they don't know it, it is just a way of life, it is how the world works.  Isaiah lived with God and in God, he seen the trap and sought God out.  It is also a way of life but it takes effort to live in this relationship, you have to work at it.  Speak when asked to speak, God will have already prepared where He is asking you to go.  The people living in Moab are destined for an eternity of grief.  

What is God saying to me: A little bit of context goes along way, seek and you shall find, ask and it shall be opened unto you.  

Dear Father God, what was alien to me yesterday makes sense this morning.  In our journey together, You are weaving a tapestry and over time the picture is being revealed.  I pray for Moab Lord, You know how my heart pangs for them but it is a delicate balance to share the truth and not force love.  Your Son, never forced Himself upon another, He spoke in love and trusted in You, that Your creation would listen and respond.  Bless this day Father, bless Your people Lord and reveal truth to those that are seeking it.  Thank You for another joy filled morning contemplating the Truth.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 14:28-32 The Lord is my refuge

"What will one answer the messengers of the nations? "The LORD has established Zion, and in her the afflicted of his people find refuge.""  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭14:32‬

Isaiah 14:28-32  The Lord is my refuge.  An army approaches, the smoke you see is the dust rising up to warn of its approach.  The Philistia didn't place their trust in God, they placed it in man and God is not their protection, those that chose God always find refuge.  Can you relate to God's message?  When we place our trust in man and not in God at some point we are going to be disappointed.  I have watched as people who have fallen away from their faith because of some situation that happened that wasn't of God.  They wander about lost because God was not/is not their center.  The Israelites even in their afflictions chose God, maybe in unorganized ways yet God is at the center.  The dust rises in the north, what the future holds only God knows, that is where I will rest what about you?  Our next president will not be your saving grace, only God grants rest in the midst of the turmoil.  Have a blessed day, God has something for you to do, be sure to listen and respond with love. 

What is God saying to me:

Dear Father, I see some hanging on to You in the midst of the storm, You always answer our pleas when we trust in You.  Thank You Father for answered prayers, for dreams to come true and for missions to be advanced.  You always find a way.  Prayers for those being guided by man only leading to possible death of their soul.  Help them see that You are love and only in love should we respond.  Our actions speak louder than words as well as how strong our faith is.  Thank You for this day Father, use me where You need me and guide my steps.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 14:24-27 Set captives free



"The LORD of hosts has sworn: As I have resolved, so shall it be; As I have planned, so shall it stand: To break the Assyrian in my land and trample him on my mountains; Then his yoke shall be removed from them, and his burden from their shoulder."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭14:24-25‬

Isaiah 14:24-27  Set captives free.  What holds you back from knowing God fully?  Loving God fully and serving God fully?  Jesus came to set captives free, He speaks about it throughout His word.  Do you speak to Jesus?  There is a grace given to us when we sit and listen to God.  There are yokes, we freely chose, that hold us captive.  We sometimes don't even see it as a yoke, it isn't until we sit in silence, enter the scene of Christ and have a conversation.  He reveals truth to you through His word.  ""The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring glad tidings to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free,"  ‭‭Luke‬ ‭4:18‬  If we are to be set free from our own ignorance we will need to listen to Jesus.  He reveals truth in His word, not man's ways but God's ways.  So shall it be, so shall it stand.  

What is God saying to me: Not everyone understands but I love them anyway.  Make a way for the Holy Spirit to enter in, My voice will be heard, then they will know.  The disciples didn't understand, it wasn't until the Gospel played out in front of them did they see that I was at the heart of it and they entered into full communion with me.  Not everyone is willing to be vulnerable to receive this grace.  

Dear Father, You have ways of unlocking a door when we sit in silence, You know my prayer this morning.  The gift of insight awaits those willing to enter the scene with You, Lord God, when we are open to the Holy Spirit.  Prayers today for a family burying a mother, a wife, a Grandmother, may  Your Perpetual Light shine upon her and may she rest In Peace.   Thank You Father for the gift of wise Grandmothers, their lessons speak to us beyond the grave.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 14:3-23 The great deceiver



"How you have fallen from the heavens, O Morning Star, son of the dawn! How you have been cut down to the earth, you who conquered nations! In your heart you said: "I will scale the heavens; Above the stars of God I will set up my throne; I will take my seat on the Mount of Assembly, on the heights of Zaphon."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭14:12-13‬

Isaiah 14:3-23  The great deceiver.  "Jesus said, "I have observed Satan fall like lightning from the sky."  ‭‭Luke‬ ‭10:18‬  Isaiah has clarity of vision to see the son of dawn fall from the heavens.  He is not blind to what was going on within his world, his relationship with the Father of Heaven gives him this clarity.  The conscious effort to listen and be part of God's divine nature opens his eyes to his world.  Many do not believe in the son of dawn, Lucifer.   They are blind to him for he has control of their thoughts.  It isn't until we sit in the presence of God and be part of the Body of Christ is our world revealed to us.  "This is why I speak to them in parables, because 'they look but do not see and hear but do not listen or understand.' Isaiah's prophecy is fulfilled in them, which says: 'You shall indeed hear but not understand, you shall indeed look but never see. Gross is the heart of this people, they will hardly hear with their ears, they have closed their eyes, lest they see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and be converted, and I heal them."  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13:13-15‬  Open the eyes of your heart in His presence. 

What is God saying to me: Clarity of vision comes from above in the stillness, chaos drowns out My voice, this is its goal.  Be still and know that I Am God.  

Dear Father, there is clarity of mind early in the morning sitting at Your feet.  You are no respecter of persons and freely give what is available to all.  I thank You for revealing truth within Your Holy Word and allowing my mind to rest.  I pray for those who are blind to You, blind to the one who leads them around, they are not conscious of what they are doing.  Snap them out of this slumber and awakening them to the Risen Lord.  Prayers for a friend in Mexico overcoming Covid, build him up Father for a greater purpose.  I ask this in the name above every other name, Jesus Christ, the Great Healer, Amen.
