Week 11 - The Journey Day 4 

"Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place."  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:18‬

I hear Jesus make this statement then I wonder what is He saying?  I like everyone else that heard His comment don't understand.  Reading God's word can be perplexing at times, Jesus spoke in a way that makes you think.  Which requires us to use our God given talents.  

Jesus foretells of His death, here in the midst of us is God speaking and He is the one who will be put to death for a Divine purpose.  ""Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill."  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:17‬.  He came to fulfill the Mosaic law and to enter in the new Heaven and new earth, the new covenant where He dies to pay reparations for our sins.  My sins that I have committed.  

Just like the disciples seating in front of Jesus, He is the message and we can miss that in our prayer time trying to overthink it.  When we sit and listen, hear the birds chirp, feel the warmth of the sun on our face, listen to a neighbor sling a hammer, we begin to see God at work.  Jesus has purpose in all that He speaks and is written down.  Do not miss Jesus directly in front of you, He is God.

What is God saying to me?  Listen, there is beauty in the silence, even though it isn't silent in the true sense of the word, it is within.  

Dear Father, You came to teach us and to sit with us, we can become so busy with what is said or being done that we completely miss what You are saying.  I thank You for just being, for being everywhere and allowing us to hear the Advocate teach what it is You are giving.  Thank You for the beauty of this day and the joy it brings when we sit and listen to You.  Thank You Father for the gift of life and the experience of You, it is in this relationship that we grow to know You better.  Prayers for friends that have Covid, heal their bodies and their minds.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

"He replied to him, "Amen, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise." ‭‭Luke‬ ‭23:43‬

What saved the good thief?  "Everyone who acknowledges me before others I will acknowledge before my heavenly Father." Matthew‬ ‭10:32‬.  The good thief rebuked the other thief and said "have you no fear of God".  He knew who was being crucified next to him, his heart knew who was there, love can not conceal itself.  The Word of God is live and must act upon His word.  "The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he saves them." ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭34:8‬

What else did the good thief do that we should do on a regular bases?  "Those who conceal their sins do not prosper, but those who confess and forsake them obtain mercy."  ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭28:13‬.  He went to confessions, one of the Sacraments of the Catholic Church, to the Great High Priest and he was absolved of his sins when Jesus told him, "today you will be with Me in paradise."

I always thought the good thief stole Heaven but he didn't he followed the word of God because he feared God.  "The beginning of wisdom is fear of the Lord, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding." Proverbs‬ ‭9:10‬. Read His word, a little each day and sit in silence and listen.  He will give you tremendous insight. 

What is God saying to me?  There is no better way to start your day than sitting here with Me.  You feel my warmth, you see My beauty and you hear My voice.  Blessed is the man who sits and listen.  Enjoy your day, I Am right here.  

Dear Father, there is joy sitting at Your feet, there is depth in Your word when we listen to You speak to us in it.  I pray for others sitting at Your feet, give them patience and understanding as they push thru their own mental blocks, to empty themselves of all their burdens and get to the place of understanding.  It is hear that the journey begins.  Prayers for friends sick with Covid, thank You Lord for giving us a holy fear for Your omnipotent power to save.  In all the situations of our lives with love in our hearts all is well for You are at home.  Praise be to God, my Creator and my Redeemer, Amen.

"Amen, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place."  ‭‭Luke‬ ‭21:32

I am struck by God at His love for us, He does not do anything without first telling us what to expect.  "in the same way, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near."  ‭‭Luke‬ ‭21:31‬.  When Moses was taking the Israelites to the promised land, God told Pharaoh thru Moses what was going to happen before it happened.  

Jesus tells us what is coming, He foretells the future and it makes me wonder.  Do we know the word of God to see the signs.  Do the signs of our time get our attention to the point we are drawn closer to God and His love.  Or like Pharaoh are we skeptical and ignore the word of God.  Jesus doesn't make these comments to scare us but to prepare us for what is to come.  

Within His mantle of protection all is well.  Moses was surrounded by plagues and pestilence and was completely unharmed.  Jesus's message is to see the signs because we are in covenant union with God.  Daily prayer, sitting in silence and listening is the key.  Moses didn't go it by himself, it was God that directed his path.  Listen.  

What is God saying to me?  We are not there yet, we are in a stage of preparation.  You are correct in knowing how much My people are loved and I do not want to harm them.  It is in listening to My voice daily many times where true joy is found.  These times are only the beginning.  

Dear Father, there is such peace watching You in action thru Your word.  Even in our trials we are being fortified for Your glory.  Nothing will be undone by You that was

not meant to be undone.  I sit and praise You this morning and know that all is well.  Thankful that we have this time of peace, thankful for a day of truth in only how You can direct me.  Many prayers this morning for others going thru life silently enduring their trials.  Strengthen us Lord for Your glory.  Prayers for friends traveling and being in Your mantle of protection.  We are blessed Father by You and I am thankful for all of it.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Week 11 - The Journey Day 1 

"He said to them, "Amen, I say to you, there is no one who has given up house or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God who will not receive [back] an overabundant return in this present age and eternal life in the age to come." ‭‭Luke‬ ‭18:29-30‬

What is God asking of you?  Is He asking us to give up our families or our possessions?  In a sense yes but not in the way many would think.  If the things or people in your life are more important than God than yes we are not to follow them but we are to follow God.  In listening to God and following Him, He will not abandon you nor ask you to abandon them.  He will ask you to walk with them and use the gifts you have been given to glorify Him.  

There will be sacrifice involved, how do you give something up without sacrifice but with Christ there will be new life.  There will be new direction and new joy, there will be an abundance in your relationship with God and those that are within your care.  Things will only be things, the possessions will no longer own you, God has purpose in your life, God is always first and nothing should come between you and God.  No thing nor no person, it is in trusting in God for the Godly outcome and expecting His promise of an abundant return.  It is written in His word and He always speaks truth.  

What is God saying to me?  I am working all things out, trust in me.  

Dear Father, once again another great morning at Your feet.  There is much to be heard and grow from when You are first in our life and our day.  I thank You for the blessings of this day, for the plans that You have put into motion.  I thank You for the outcome that You desire and the growth of others in their faith walk.  Prayers for a friend and a family in need of prayer, they are Your faithful servants trusting You for the abundance that is promised.  Bless them with grace and peace.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Week 10 - The Journey Day 7

"Amen, I say to you, whoever does not accept the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it." ‭‭Luke‬ ‭18:17‬

I have this image of my grandchildren's day, they will wake up and not really knowing what the day will bring, will bounce right into it.  They are in loving homes and are well cared for, they will do the next thing that is placed in front of them.  They will be corrected when they are stepping out of line and at the end of the day will lay down to begin again tomorrow.  They are loved and love their parents, they trust in what they say and each day is a lesson that adds on to the previous one.  

Now I think about my day, I begin again with hope and trust in my heart.  I thank my Heavenly Father for what the day holds, I trust Him in what it brings, I know life will teach me lessons and I know that I am loved by Him.  I may not like the outcome but that is ok because it is beyond my control other than what God gives me to do.  I can't express being child like in any other way, trusting God in all your circumstances is no different than my grandchildren trusting in their world.  God seeks this in our lives and this I believe is faith.  

What is God saying to me?  The kingdom of God is not a destination, it is in front of you each day.  I will not give you anything beyond what you can bare.  I love you and I only want the best for you.  

Dear Father, these are busy days and I am trying, there are things beyond my control and I am trusting.  I don't always like what the day brings but I know there is purpose in it.  I thank You for the strength to fight the good fight, to endure when sometimes I don't want to.  I am blessed by Your love and the love of Mary's Immaculate heart, she plays an integral part in this journey.  Prayers for friends in the battle, living in the kingdom and are being faithful to Your call.  Prayers for diligent parents watching over their children teaching them life giving faith.  Bless this day Lord, anoint it's fruits and bless Your kingdom with our faithful efforts.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

"Blessed are those servants whom the master finds vigilant on his arrival. Amen, I say to you, he will gird himself, have them recline at table, and proceed to wait on them."  ‭‭Luke‬ ‭12:37‬

The wedding feast of the Lamb, be vigilant. Jesus is teaching His followers and those that are listening.  They have concerns about their needs and wants, not trusting in their Heavenly Father and are not being vigilant.  The ways of the world has their attention.  

Jesus could preach these very same words today and the audience would be the same.  The Son of Man looks around and sees the lost and the weary not taking heed.  The things of this world do not satisfy only the will of the Father will feed our need.  Jesus tells us to be vigilant, be prepared, we know not the day nor the hour for the door to be open.  

What is God saying to me?  My will be done, do not concern yourself about tomorrow, do what is asked of you today by Me.  This is what servants do and I will wait upon them.  

Dear Father, it is a beautiful morning to sit and ponder.   Even though the world moves on, there is opportunity to visit with You and be taught by the Master.   Prayers for a friend being operated on today Lord, he is a faithful servant doing what is asked of him.  Bless the doctors and nurses today with Your hands and eyes, give his family peace as they wait for the good news.   Help us be vigilant and always at the ready.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Week 10 - The Journey Day 4

"And he said, "Amen, I say to you, no prophet is accepted in his own native place."  ‭‭Luke‬ ‭4:24‬

What is a prophet?  Prophet doesn't mean one who predicts what is to come but refers to the Greek word prophētēs: "one who speaks for another." Jesus just finished speaking for God, His Father when He said the above verse. ""The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring glad tidings to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, and to proclaim a year acceptable to the Lord.""  ‭‭Luke‬ ‭4:18-19‬

God sent many prophets before He sent Jesus and just like in the time of Jesus, they were ignored.  Jesus was in the Synagogue speaking truth in a way that was challenging those who were listening.  God speaks do we listen?   The culture speaks and justifies sin, this is ok and that is ok and it is all a form of sin which separates us from God.  God speaks and I listen, that is the challenge Jesus speaks in the temple,  we are to listen for God and to God.  

What is God saying to me?  The culture denies the existence of Me and there are consequences.  Children are losing their way without the guidance of a holy family in their presence.  Life is a gift that is to be respected with a holy fear of who I Am.  

Dear Father, there is joy in covenant relationship, help us see the joy of the Holy Family, may we imitate their loving guidance of each other.   I pray for families that have been separated due to divorce, the schemes of the devil.  May we  learn what are rightful roles are when we listen and honor You with our attention.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

"Jesus said to him, "Amen, I say to you, this very night before the cock crows, you will deny me three times." ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭26:34‬

Will I deny Christ today three times before I lay my head down tonight.  We all know the story of Peter denying Christ three times in the still of the night.  Simple scenes around a fire where he was asked was he a friend of Jesus, how about us.  It is easy to examine Peter but what about me?  I pray I don't but also know that there will be moments when I may deny Him.  Will I acknowledge Him at the dinner table inviting Him to bless the food?  Will the people I am with think that I am a follower of Jesus if I would claim Him there.  Will I deny Him when I see someone in need but continue on my way.  Each day we each face the same choice Peter faced, will I claim Jesus Christ in public as a friend and Savior.  

"In fact, a Christian is always and everywhere either confessing Christ or denying Him. Every wrong act performed, every duty disregarded or imperfectly discharged, every indication of a character not conformed to His will and likened to His image, is, by the very necessity of the case, a denial of our Lord and Saviour.

What is God saying to me?  

Dear Father, examine me and conform me into Your image and likeness.  The ways that go against your will, change.  Take me by the hand and lead me as You were led in this world.  Forgive for the times that I have and will deny You, I want to claim You in all my life.  Prayers for a friend that has a debilitating disease changing his world, heal him Father, he has lots of life ahead of him.  Prayers for another with Covid, may the effects be mild and not life changing.   Thank You Father for the gift of this day and all it has to offer, I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Week 10 - The Journey Day 1



Week 10 - The Journey Day 1

"And while they were eating, he said, "Amen, I say to you, one of you will betray me." ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭26:21‬

It is a spiritual battle, Jesus was well aware of His circumstances and He knew the depth of faith with those with Him.  From outer appearance they were perfect, attended church regularly, appeared to have a good prayer life, all looked to be fine but. 

Jesus battled the devil in the desert for forty days and did not fall victim to his ploys.  The devil sits and waits for an opportunity to separate us from God.  In relationship with God, we are to be open and honest with Him, He knows all anyway.  "Humble yourselves before the Lord and he will exalt you."

‭‭James‬ ‭4:10‬ ‭ Judas allowed his own pride to be the wedge the devil used to separate him from His Savior.  His own words betrayed him, Jesus knew it and so did the evil one.  

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, on your own intelligence do not rely; In all your ways be mindful of him, and he will make straight your paths."  ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:5-6‬.  The only difference between Judas and Peter is Peter turned towards God after he denied Him, Judas never turned towards Him.  We all make mistakes and deny Christ but do not let that stop us from turning to God.  There is blessings beyond measure when we recognize our own weaknesses and lean on His strength.  Greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world.  1 John 4:4b

What is God saying to me:  March on

Dear Father, ours sins are finite but Your mercy is infinite, help us live out this life in right relationship with You.  Give us Your strength to be empowered to know You, to love you and to trust You even in our own weaknesses.  I thank You for your love Father, there is blessings when we know we are loved by You.  Prayers for a friend that has been separated from You because of sin, bring Him home Father, help him see the need for God is in his life.  If I can help Lord, use me.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Week 9 - The Journey Day 7

"Amen, I say to you, wherever this gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will be spoken of, in memory of her."  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭26:13‬

Following the will of God.  As I sat with this scripture this morning, the woman did not just enter the scene without a true understanding who Jesus is.  She knew this was the Messiah in her presence.  Her relationship with God had been formed over many years and God had prepared her for this task in her daily walk with our Triune God.  

God always prepares us for our tasks at hand if we are in communion with Him.  He also prepared His Son for burial, Jesus knew this was coming but was this affirmation to the Son of Man that His time was at hand.  God prepares the way, we follow.  Our actions speak louder than words and demonstrate our belief in the Risen Christ, it begins in small simple steps every day of your life.  

What is God saying to me?  I am with you.  

Dear Father, You prepare the way and we are to follow.  In our daily conversations we are growing together, in reading Your word and contemplating the lives of the Saints, You are revealing their journey and how they came to know You.  You honor those who seek You with deliberate actions and are willing to demonstrate their love for You.  I pray for a world so busy that it does not take the time to know You, I pray for the things that fill our day that are not from You, use all of this to make us better.  Bless this day Father, thank You for another beautiful morning listening to the birds chirp and You speaking.  Amen.

Week 9 - The Journey Day 6

"He will answer them, 'Amen, I say to you, what you did not do for one of these least ones, you did not do for me.' And these will go off to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."" Matthew‬ ‭25:45-46‬

Jesus speaks with love and concern in His heart.  He knows the plight that we are on and how easy the path that leads to hell.  His words recorded 2000 plus years ago speak of the future and they were spoken in a way that leads us to change.  Even the most ardent disciple can look within and see areas that are not in alignment with God.  Areas of our own lives that could lead us off the path of righteous.  

The life that Christ lived was not an easy one but there is not one circumstance where someone asked Jesus for help or was in need that He did not help.   In our own lives this is the example we are to follow, where there is hunger, give food, where there is thirst give drink, where there is need and you are asked to help, give of yourself, this is the bread of life that transforms us.  

What is God saying to me?

Dear Father, I see the love and concern when You said these words.  The hope was for us to take them to heart and be transformed by them.  Any time I have asked for help, you have always helped, this is what you ask of us, to give of the resources that are freely given to us.  Thank You for the blessing of this day and all it has to offer, may I use the gifts, talents and resources to the best of my abilities with Your help.  Amen.

"And the king will say to them in reply, 'Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.' Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you accursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels."  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭25:40-41‬

Heaven or hell?  Jesus speaks, I listen.  Sitting at the feet of Jesus, He gives us choices, examples and consequences.  The Good Shepherd speaks, our choices have consequences as do our focuses.  Other focused and doing the will of the Father leads to Heaven.  Self focused and my way with no concern for God leads to hell.  

We can take an examination of our journey to this point, am I listening, am I carrying the cross or willing accepting the path that I am on or am I fighting the path, not at peace, not asking for help, not willing to follow.  The life that we live is on us, it is in a sense the bread of life.  Am I learning from my mistakes and becoming better or am I justifying why I am the way I am and ignoring truth, God's truth.  

Hell is real, we decide where we go based upon our actions.  A Christian hears God speak and follows His direction.  A goat blazes his own trail that leads to the eternal fire.  

What is God saying to me?  Hell is real, My Son does not deny its existence and how My children find themselves there.  The good news is, there is time to listen and respond to the Good Shepherd's voice.  I Am talking to you.  

Dear Lord, Jesus speaks truth in His word, He does not deny the consequences of sin nor does He sugarcoat the outcome.  In listening to Him preach, He paints a clear picture of what truth is and what the world tries to cover up.  Give us the bread of life, awaken our senses to the reality of our actions and be greater in all of our circumstances of life, You are my God and I am loved by you.  Prayers for a friend traveling home, watch over him and his family.  Thank You for Your words of wisdom through him and his example of faithfully following Your voice.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

"But he said in reply, 'Amen, I say to you, I do not know you.'"  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭25:12‬

Lord, Do you know me?  For if you don't know me, then: "While they went off to buy it, the bridegroom came and those who were ready went into the wedding feast with him. Then the door was locked."  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭25:10‬

What is God saying to me?  I do know you, you do My will, most of the time.  We visit daily and we have a conversation, we are intimate with each other, of course I know you.  My concerns are your concerns.  

Dear Father, I thank You for having the strength to ask You the question: Do You know me?  This strength came over time in our visits and with the help of Your Advocate, the Holy Spirit.  There is still time Father, send Your Advocate to convict hearts that are not ready.  As You said, we do not know the day nor the hour of Your coming.  It will be announced but it will be too late then.  We have time now.  Prayers for a productive day, prayers for direction with Your mission and doors to be opened.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Week 9 - The Journey Day 3



Week 9 - The Journey Day 3

"Amen, I say to you, he will put him in charge of all his property."  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:47‬

Our relationship with God.  Jesus speaks of a servant who is given charge of his household and the master finds him upon his return doing what a good servant should be doing.  Obviously the master will give him more responsibility.  

As I sat with God this morning, He is omnipresent so He already knows if my household is in order.  Even beyond that He knows if I am in order.  We talked about that this morning and we both are in agreement, it begins with prayer, it begins with our relationship.  

With more comes responsibilities.   In business, advancement only comes when the person demonstrates the ability and dedication to advance.  It would be ill advised to put someone in a position that wasn't ready.  So it is with God, and it begins with daily prayer.  The Master is ever present and, what good gifts He gives you, you will be ready for.  Listen and speak with God before you begin your day or time will get the better of you.  

What is God saying to me?  I was listening and I did respond, our relationship is real.  I am here with you nothing is from My site. 

Dear Father, in our walk You are opening up the lack of prayer in the lives of others.  You are revealing how the drunkard gets in the way to slow us down.  Yet You are Loving God, waiting upon us to listen and respond.  I thank You for responding to my voice this morning, for the affirmation of Your presence.  I pray for others to understand the importance of taking care of their household and the importance of daily prayer.  Little eyes are watching and so is the evil one in hopes of us slipping up.  Bless this day, we are ready for whatever comes.  In Jesus name, Amen.

"Amen, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away." ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:34-35‬

Listen to Jesus give a teaching, He doesn't mince His words, He gives clear and concise directions for His disciples.  "As he was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately and said, "Tell us, when will this happen, and what sign will there be of your coming, and of the end of the age?"" ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:3‬  In the last days it will not be easy for His disciples.  

We are not in these times yet but are well on our way.  Discipleship comes at a cost and we are to be prepared for such a time.  One of the reason I believe Jesus answered them in the way that He does.  He acknowledges the power of evil and we must recognize the signs of the times. "False messiahs and false prophets will arise, and they will perform signs and wonders so great as to deceive, if that were possible, even the elect."  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:24‬

Even the elect can be deceived but the good news there is still time.  There is nothing to be afraid of for God prepared His disciples for such a time, the reason He speaks of it.  When we listen to Jesus, He enters in and there is a peace that overcomes all tribulations.  That doesn't mean they go away, it means we will be prepared for them.  His disciples go to Him for the answers and He is never far away when we call out to Him.  

What is God saying to me?  You are surrounded by beauty, remember My Love penetrates all evil.  

Dear Father I thank You for the beauty that is before our eyes, for the opportunity to hear Jesus speak to His disciples and give them peace in times of tribulations.  Father help us learn to trust You in all things and know just as Jesus did, that You will never forsake us.  Love is stronger than any evil that will come against us.  Help us see the importance of listening to Your voice.  Prayers for a young lady seeking peace in her life, You know the answer to her situation.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Week 9 - The Journey Day 1

"He said to them in reply, "You see all these things, do you not? Amen, I say to you, there will not be left here a stone upon another stone that will not be thrown down." ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:2‬

Jesus just finished denouncing the Pharisees and He being God knows what happens when life is built without God.  It is destined for destruction.  You see all these things, do you not?  We can deny Christ and He clearly tells us what the outcome will be.  

In our culture today, do we not see the same thing going on, the effort to remove God.  I could mention many different things where God or His teachings are being ignored and we see what is happening to this world view. 

"The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone."  Psalms‬ ‭118:22‬  In our own lives, we have experienced things where God was not a part of it, it did not work.  It is in coming to the understanding that with God all things are possible and we need to have Him in His throne room, our hearts.  Building the foundation is the most important of any building.  Listen to God and build a life upon Him.  

What is God saying to me?

Dear Father, I have many imperfections but You overlook all of them and show me Your love.  Day after day, we talk together and we listen to each other.  In this relationship You are building upon the Cornerstone.  You are opening up scripture and sharing of Your self and the life of Jesus.  I thank You for all my failures that have helped me find You.  I pray that others recognize a life without You leads to destruction.  Bless this day Lord, may it be filled with Your presence.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

"Amen, I say to you, all these things will come upon this generation."  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭23:36‬

Jesus is proclaiming the truth and also fulfilling scripture.  Listen to Jesus as He proclaims the word of God, listen to His passion and conviction in His voice, He calls a spade a spade.  Those listening have to ponder these words and search themselves out.  

"Therefore, behold, I send to you prophets and wise men and scribes; some of them you will kill and crucify, some of them you will scourge in your synagogues and pursue from town to town, so that there may come upon you all the righteous blood shed upon earth, from the righteous blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, the son of Barachiah, whom you murdered between the sanctuary and the altar."  Matthew‬ ‭23:34-35‬

God sends them prophets, wise men and scribes, they will kill and crucify Jesus, they will scourge Him and pursue Him from town to town to catch Him in a trap.  The trials of life will catch all of us, yet in these situations we can have peace if we know Truth.  Jesus fulfilled scripture and the new age is upon us, be prepared to speak of your joy.  Each day with God is one day closer to Heaven.  

What is God saying to me?  Some days are meant to test you, will you ponder the life I have for you.  Will you listen even though I do not respond.  I am God and so is Jesus, we are one, we can not be separated from each other.  

Dear Father, I like when You give me words to ponder, I like it when the treasure isn't the words but spending time together seeking insight.  Thank You Father for these days, for the time to listen and put priorities into place.  Thank You for blessing this day, for never being far away and for always loving each of us as Your creation, made in Your image.   I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

"Which of the two did his father's will?" They answered, "The first." Jesus said to them, "Amen, I say to you, tax collectors and prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God before you."  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭21:31‬

Conversion of heart.  Jesus looks at His accusers and seeks for them to come and know what He knows.  He understands human nature and also knows they must think on their own.  He answers a question with a question, knowing it is the only way to get His point across.  The Son of God, filled with love seeks their souls for His Fathers glory.  

How many times do we stand in judgement and want to fight back, to prove we are right.  God knew the truth but He has to help His accusers come to the truth.  Only thru love will we be able we to help another, helping them question their own reasoning to see the error of their ways.  The Son of Man didn't come to condemn but to point to the truth.  

By what authority do you do these things?  It is only thru the gifts of the Holy Spirit do we do these things.  Jesus as Son of Man, cooperates fully with the Holy Spirit, this is the journey, Amen.  

What is God saying to me?  In sitting still and using the gifts I have given you, your intellect, your vision, your perception, you gain insight to My Son, your brother.  

Dear Father, it is like You are peeling an onion back and sharing an insight that was not there before.  In our journey together, You are opening up scripture and the purpose it was written for.  We are visual in nature and in these insights there is a deeper meaning for each of us to grasp.  Thank You Father for these summer days, thank You for the time to sit and ponder and the desire to do so.  I can so easily get distracted and not give You the most Important part of my day.  Prayers of thanksgiving for prayers answered, You hear our pleas and You have answered them.  You are Loving Father, Amen.

"Jesus said to them in reply, "Amen, I say to you, if you have faith and do not waver, not only will you do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, 'Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,' it will be done."  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭21:21‬

The power of the tongue!  The Son of man, spoke to the fig tree and said: "Seeing a fig tree by the road, he went over to it, but found nothing on it except leaves. And he said to it, "May no fruit ever come from you again." And immediately the fig tree withered."  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭21:19‬.  Jesus as man spoke these words and it came to pass, our words have power!  

I was traveling this week and a man was being escorted thru security because he left his drivers license at home.  He said to me:" why do I always do what my wife says I do?"  Indicating that his wife says he leaves things behind.  Our words have power.  They are used to build up and to tear down.  Jesus talks about our faith, with faith we can move mountains.  Did this women move mountains not in the way Jesus is referring to but she did move her husband.  

While we are listening to God, hear all that is being said, our own words that are spoken make things happen.  Be attentive to your heart for these are the words that we speak.  "By their fruits you will know them. Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles?"  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:16‬

What is God saying to me?  

Dear Father, You speak in many different ways and all are with love.  I thank You for for this past week, You are moving mountains and we are learning.  I thank You for the grace that is all around us, if we are attentive to Your voice.  Bless this day Lord, keep us safe and out of harms way.  Blessings to the faithful that are producing the fruit of salvation and the growth that is coming.  In our struggles of life we are being formed into Saints, we pray.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Week 8 - The Journey Day 3



Week 8 - The Journey Day 3

"Jesus said to them, "Amen, I say to you that you who have followed me, in the new age, when the Son of Man is seated on his throne of glory, will yourselves sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel."  Matthew‬ ‭19:28‬

I like Peter's question to Jesus that is answered above.  "Then Peter said to him in reply, "We have given up everything and followed you. What will there be for us?" Matthew‬ ‭19:27‬.  What will there be for us?  Glory!  Jesus affirms His disciples and their actions, but only the ones who are following with their heart.  Some are following only in action that feeds self, Judas.  

Jesus is sitting on the throne at the right hand of the Father.  We proclaim it every time we go to mass in the Apostles Creed, this IS the new age, we have the opportunity of new life, to leave it all behind and follow Jesus.  Now Jesus knew His disciples weren't perfect, He knew they were not ready to follow Him unto death yet He confirmed their rightful place in Heaven.  

God does not seek the perfect, He perfects the called.  In our daily conversation with God, He reveals glory to us, He reveals truth to us, He perfects us on the journey.  Just as He did with the disciples, those that followed Him into death.  

Dear Father, each day is a new day to grow closer to you.  Reach into our hearts and reveal love to us, reveal the teachings of Jesus and His actions that transformed a world from death into life.  We live in some perilous times but nothing You haven't already seen.  Teach us to pray, teach us to listen in our prayer time.  It is You that prepares us for tomorrow and only thru love will we gain Heaven.  Prayers for a family burying a father day, a man that led his family with love, a man who shared Christ.  Prayers for another family watching a child fight to breath, You are mighty God and we know all is well when You are in the throne room in our hearts.  In Jesus name, Amen.

"Then Jesus said to his disciples, "Amen, I say to you, it will be hard for one who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven." ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭19:23‬

Jesus is answering the question we all have, how do I gain eternal life?  "Now someone approached him and said, "Teacher, what good must I do to gain eternal life?" Matthew 19:16. His is response is only One is good for He knows each day we fall short because of sin.  But the last part of this verse got my attention.  "If you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments."  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭19:17‬b

Eternal life isn't an accomplishment, it isn't something you hang on the wall and point to it.  It isn't something on our own we are capable of.  I know each day I fail some days bad but I also know I need God.  Jesus tells this young man to sell his possessions and follow Him.  But the possessions own him and therefore he walks away.  Riches can be anything, it can be riches, it can be health, it can be ego, it can be attitude, it can be power, God knows what we hold onto in our hearts. 

Life in Heaven begins here, it begins by following Jesus, it begins by allowing God to unpack you, to remove the things that burden you and keep us from Heaven.  Now some will say "I have been washed by the blood of Jesus" and they lay claim to Heaven.  I need washed everyday and that is why I go every day many times.  Heaven isn't easy to enter, Jesus died a horrible death to enter.  I know I will not stroll in because I was good in this life.  

What is God saying to me?  Die to self, I must work within.  

Dear Father, You see all to the very core and You know what holds us back.  Purify us in this life so the rest of eternity we may glow with Your passion.  Prayers for a friend weighed down and blind to it.  Prayers for each of us that we may allow Your Holy Spirit to mold us into Your image here on this side of Heaven.  Bless this day Father, comfort those who have lost loved ones, bring them peace and show them Your loving kindness.   I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Week 8 - The Journey Day 8

"Again, [amen,] I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything for which they are to pray, it shall be granted to them by my heavenly Father."  Matthew‬ ‭18:19‬

The power of prayer.  "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." Matthew‬ ‭18:20‬  What actions does Jesus show us in how He lives His faith.  It wasn't hidden, He practiced what He preached and His actions spoke of His belief.   

As I prayed with this verse today, God revealed the Truth in how we are to live.  If we believe then we will share with others of our belief.  We will show how God is active in our lives.  Jesus as Son of Man, remember His Divine Nature, while still God was not the active part of His humanity.   He is all man as we are all man, it is His Divine will that operates within us.  

When we share of ourselves, confirm it with another, God will answer our prayer.  Now some of us may question this but God answers all of our prayers.  ""Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:7-8‬.  Prayers are answered in many different ways and not as we would think.  

What is God saying to me?  In the quietness of your heart you hear the truth.  I do not always reveal it right away, there are times we sit together and I look at you, My creation as you ponder.  The truth is the journey and you are living it.  

Dear Father, words can not describe my thoughts and feelings.  I sit with You and ponder all that is being given.  You have the paint brush in Your hand and are bringing all things together.  In the journey I am learning more and more about You thru the life of Your Son, through Your Word and through my life.  You hear my prayers, You hear our prayers and there is a comfort in knowing they are answered in the best possible outcome that will bring about Your Kingdom.  You are God and You love me and all of Your creation.  Prayers for a friend learning to live again knowing there is a day that he will meet You.  Strengthen his heart and his faith to become Your disciple.  I ask this in the name above every other name, Jesus Christ, Amen.

Week 7 - The Journey Day 6



Week 7 - The Journey Day 6

"Amen, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭18:18‬

As a disciple, you had to be listening to Jesus and understand what He is saying.  Can you hear Jesus saying these words as He is speaking to the disciples, His followers, this band of misfits that He will leave the church to.  Jesus was referring to sin and how we are to deal with it with others.  If a brother sins against us, we are called to deal with it, first one on one, then with others and then the church if it hasn't been resolved.  Then we are to give it to God with forgiveness in our hearts.   

"and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors;". ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:12‬.  Holding on to hurts by another only hurts us, if we bind the hurt on our hearts then it will be bound in Heaven.  We tie God's hands in His ability to forgive us our debts.  Following Jesus requires thought, it requires us to listen and apply what we hear.  "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life."  ‭‭John‬ ‭3:16‬.  Sit at the feet of Jesus and listen.  

What is God saying to me?  In My presence you will experience relationship, the words that you hear are My words.  The thoughts that you hear are mine, in this relationship we have communion that draws you into a deeper relationship.  I love You for You are My creation listening to the guidance of My Holy Spirit.  

Dear Father, it is a beautiful morning to sit and listen.  There is something special when we spend time together.  You are not off in some far off place but right here with me, I thank You Lord for this understanding and for our relationship.  Prayers for this day and for those wandering around lost without a compass in their lives.  I bind them to You Lord and trust in Your Divine wisdom that Your will be done in all of our lives.  Bless this day and all it has to offer.  Thank You for the fond memories this past weekend.  Amen.

Week 7 - The Journey Day 5. Happy 4th of July.



Week - The Journey Day 5 Happy 4th of July.  

"And if he finds it, amen, I say to you, he rejoices more over it than over the ninety-nine that did not stray."  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭18:13‬

We all belong to God, it was Him that put breath in our lungs, gave our hearts a beat, we are the apple of His eye.  We each have a Guardian Angel that calls upon God for our safety and for our souls.  ""See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven always look upon the face of my heavenly Father."‭‭Matthew‬ ‭18:10‬.  

The hounds of Heaven will not stop at doing the will of the Father in search of the lost sheep.  This will becomes our will within the journey, for you realize without God you are nothing.  Without Him choosing You, without Him looking for us, without His grace, we are lost.  There is constancy in God's desire for us that continually draws us closer.  If you think you are special because you are one of the 99, you are wrong.  Jesus died for all even that lost sheep that causes pain.  Do not despise one of these little ones, get in the fight and do the Fathers will.  "In just the same way, it is not the will of your heavenly Father that one of these little ones be lost." ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭18:14‬

What is God saying to me?  Build up treasure in Heaven, this time is but a bleep in eternity.  

Dear Father we have been given freedom to choose, to choose You and Your way or to choose I and my way.  Help us see the error of our ways, help us see the need of Your daily protection by Your side.  Help us see the peaceful way of life, even as the lost sheep go astray, You are always looking out of our best interests.  In our wanderings Lord, may we hear the constant reminder of Your Love, the constant knowledge of Your presence in our lives.  Prayers for the self righteous thinking they are better than the other when in fact it is the opposite.  Thank You Father for growing up in a country dedicated to freedom, may we not take it for granted and give it away.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Week 7 - The Journey Day 4



Week 7 - The Journey Day 4

"and said, "Amen, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven."  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭18:3‬

Jesus is speaking to His disciples and they, in my opinion, are seeking a place of status in Heaven.  The greatest in Heaven is God so why would one need to ask the question.  It was pride that got Lucifer kicked out of Heaven and it is pride that needs removed from us.  

I asked my grandkids what does it mean to be a little child and the two answers are: fun and love in your heart.  A fun loving spirit has a clean conscious, it is free from the worries of life.  Children do not have concern for the things of this world for their lives are under the authority of their parents.  Jesus as the Son of God is under the authority of His Father.  He takes direction and is a good follower.  Watching children and their trusting nature is a great life lesson for us.  You WILL NOT enter the Kingdom of Heaven unless you become child like.  

Let go, grab the Fathers hand and trust in Him, stop worrying.  With a strong foundation, our children and us have nothing to be concerned with.  All is well.  

What is God saying to me?  Life is a great teacher and those around you can be good teachers even the smallest of them.  Love in your heart comes from me and the innocence of a child.  

Dear Father, the joy of watching children explore life and take it all in for what it is, is a treasure.  Seeing the simplicity of life through the eyes of a child is fun to watch.  They are not seeking position, only contentment in their surroundings, only security in knowing that their parents are not far away.  Awaken our perception with the eyes and senses of a child.  Help us see the love that You have for us in the life and free will that You give us.   Bless this day, bless this country and fill us with Your love.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Week 7 - The Journey Day 3



Week 7 - The Journey Day 3

"He said to them, "Because of your little faith. Amen, I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." Matthew‬ ‭17:20‬

The mustard seed on its own is nothing, it can't grow, it can't become what is was designed to be.  But with God, it can grow, it can be transformed from the tiniest of seeds into a huge tree.  The mustard seed has one purpose to become a mustard tree, once planted, all its energy is from God and when fed that's its purpose.  

On my own I am nothing but knowing God, knowing His purpose for me and my obedience to that purpose, He will produce His creation.  I am nothing without God, within me is the greatness but only in Christ.  Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.  God the Father tells us where our source is: "While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud cast a shadow over them, then from the cloud came a voice that said, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.""  Matthew‬ ‭17:5‬.  It is your faith that leads us to Him and with Christ all things are possible.  

What is God saying to me?  Be My Light in a world covered by darkness.  In Me is the light that will illuminate your soul, be attentive to My voice.

"Amen, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom."Matthew‬ ‭16:28‬

What is Jesus saying?  I sat this morning with the disciples as Jesus spoke these words.  Is it any wonder they were confused as Jesus speaks plainly, they still had not experienced the living God and there He was in their midst.  We sit and read scripture not grasping what Jesus is saying, it requires God to reveal it to us.  Quiet contemplation with Jesus.  

Jesus had to die before He comes into His kingdom and in a sense we have to die(to self) before Jesus comes in.  As the mystical body of Christ, the church, we will see Jesus in His kingdom if we let Him in.  There is so much packed within one verse.  Jesus has told the disciples that He is the messiah, He is their savior and they have yet to understand.  When Christ enters in because when He knocks you open the door to your heart, each day, in a sense this is Heaven, may not feel like Heaven but where Christ is, He can not die twice.  Have a blessed day, Jesus speaks, we listen.  

What is God saying to me?  Be patient. 

Dear Father, You are a mystery, you are a witness to us when we take the time to be directed by You.  Father, I seen Your Son teaching this morning, I seen Him looking at the disciples knowing they didn't understand and with His help, He brings them to a deeper understanding.  I see You at work bringing about Your kingdom and preparing us for what tomorrow holds.  Thank You for another day to sit at Your feet and the gift of hearing and seeing.  You have the words of ever lasting life, bless this day and all it has to offer as You send us into it.  Amen.
