Philippians 2:13

"For God is the one who, for his good purpose, works in you both to desire and to work."

The decisions we make today determine our destiny tomorrow. God is always working in us, He gives us the desire to do good, the desire to reach out and help, the desire to pray, the desire to love others. It is us who decide how to move forward.

God will take you where you are at now and use all of life's circumstances for His good purpose. Will you let go and be lead?

Why do we still try to control our own lives? He created the universe, He can handle what ever comes at you today - Jesus take the wheel.

Matthew 28:20

"teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.""

Have you ever gotten out of the habit of prayer? We all have at some point, God is still there. He waits patiently for us to slow down and just talk to Him, like a friend you haven't seen for awhile. We sometimes think there is a set way of praying but there isn't. Just speak to Him what is on your heart.

Tell Him both the good and the bad, He knows it anyway. We find peace when we visit Jesus.

Isaiah 42:16

"I will lead the blind on a way they do not know; by paths they do not know I will guide them. I will turn darkness into light before them, and make crooked ways straight. These are my promises: I made them, I will not forsake them."

God's promise, He will not forsake you. Even when things seem bleak and you do not see your way forward, you are not alone. He will guide you if you turn to Him.

Let God turn your darkness into light, let him make your paths straight.

John 10:16

"I have other sheep that do not belong to this fold. These also I must lead, and they will hear my voice, and there will be one flock, one shepherd."

What did Jesus mean by "do not belong to this fold"? Could this be referring to the multitude of religions that are out there today. Most are following Jesus.

There is One God, One Son and One Holy Ghost and eventually one flock, as it is written in The Good Book.

It is Sunday, the day to give honor and praise to our God. If you don't normally go to church why not go today, and thank the Father for His blessings on you and your family.

Mark 16:19-20

"So then the Lord Jesus, after he spoke to them, was taken up into heaven and took his seat at the right hand of God. But they went forth and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the word through accompanying signs."

As I look back there have been many signs!  We all go through life and we either live for ourself, for others or for Jesus.   Life is more when we except Jesus and start living for Him.  It is no longer repetitious, there is joy in life.  

He is working with us and we realize it.  We follow His direction and guidance.  We begin to see the signs as God confirms His Word. 

Praise be Jesus Christ, the Risen One.

Wisdom 13:1-2

"Foolish by nature were all who were in ignorance of God, and who from the good things seen did not succeed in knowing the one who is, and from studying the works did not discern the artisan; Instead either fire, or wind, or the swift air, or the circuit of the stars, or the mighty water, or the luminaries of heaven, the governors of the world, they considered gods."

Why is it that some of do not believe in God Almighty yet they seem to recognize mother nature or some other god?  They do not see God around them, they do not recognize what the Father has done for them.  They ignore their past - why is that?

God is.  He is real, ask God to reveal himself to you, to remove all doubt from your heart.  I realize this isn't for most of you reading this but it is in my thoughts this morning.  Help the unbeliever BELIEVE.   Be the spark that sets your world on fire today!

Jeremiah 6:16

"Thus says the LORD: Stand by the earliest roads, ask the pathways of old, "Which is the way to good?" and walk it; thus you will find rest for yourselves. But they said, "We will not walk it.""

In our youth we think we know better, how could our elders be relevant in this day and age.   They seem to forget that one day they will be old and wise.  

Give respect to those that have gone before you, they know the trials of life and can help you avoid some of life's pitfalls.  

Jesus lives in you, share His joy with someone today.

For the sake of the joy that lay before him he endured the cross, despising its shame, and has taken his seat at the right of the throne of God."

Our encouragement comes from the scriptures.  Don't let life get in the way keep your eyes on Jesus.  Open His book for instruction, He will lead you as He most certainly did I this morning.

Proverbs 14:12

There is a way which seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death. 

How do we know if we are doing the right thing?  Sometimes we don't but if we are not seeking the counsel of God in our decisions we are really on our own.  

Leave a child in a room by himself for any length of time and there is a good chance he will get in trouble.  We are no different when left to our own accord.  We need the Fathers guiding hand but we must seek it.  It is found in prayer and time spent in adoration.  

It is an every day challenge to stay on course, this is only done on our knees.  God loves you that much, He doesn't want you to get lost in the wilderness.

Luke 24:48

"You are witnesses of these things."

The power of Jesus, we sometimes think it is by our own power and will but it is actually being without power.  I must decrease, so He may increase.  

I went to candle light Saturday and it was awesome.  I felt a real calmness Saturday evening, hard to explain but just a real peace.  I didn't do anything different than any other time.  All I can say is that Candle light witnessed to the retreat theme.  

Jesus walks amongst us every day, the world deceives each of us in where peace is found.  True peace is found in Jesus. Where you find peace, you will find Jesus and His will.  You must decrease so He can increase.  

"He stood in their midst and said to them, "Peace be with you"". Luke 24:36

They began to relate their experiences on the road and how He was recognized by them in the breaking of the bread. 

Good Sunday morning, what a Glorious day.  I am continually amazed by Jesus. Do you recognize The Father when He reaches out.  Do you share your experiences?

My prayer today for you is to be amazed, BE AMAZED!!  I can't yell this loud enough via email - LOL

Daniel 10:19

"He said, "O man of high esteem, do not be afraid. Peace be with you; take courage and be courageous!" Now as soon as he spoke to me, I received strength and said, "May my lord speak, for you have strengthened me.""

We are the work of the Masters hands, doesn't that give you comfort knowing He is where our strength comes from.  What a glorious day that lays ahead for all of us.  

Praise God with actions, praise him with prayer, praise him with love of neighbor.  Be strong in your faith and know that God is in charge, where you find peace you will find God.

"Jesus said to them, "Children, have you caught anything to eat?" They answered him, "No." So he said to them, "Cast the net over the right side of the boat and you will find something." So they cast it, and were not able to pull it in because of the number of fish."

Do you recognize Jesus when He gives you direction?  Is your way working?  If not, pay attention to what God is telling you.  The direction may come thru a Bible verse, a friend, a stranger or it may just be a recurring thought.  

It is when we listen to the Lord that we will be fed.

Do you ever need a reminder of who is in charge?  We get so caught up in our daily lives sometimes forgetting that He is in control.  Realize where your joy comes from and thank Him for it.  

We are only hear for a short time, make a difference with Jesus in your heart.

Isaiah 40:28 

"Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is God from of old, creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary, and his knowledge is beyond scrutiny."

He does not faint or grow weary.  We sometimes thing that we made such a mess that God couldn't fix it.   He is God, He has seen every thing man kind can throw at Him.  

Trust in Jesus and press on. 

Turn to Him in your time of need and give thanks that God almighty knows what you need and when.  Don't get weary in your spiritual routine, it is your routine that gives you strength

Praise be to Jesus, the risen King!

Galatians 5:22-23

"In contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law."

Have you ever gotten into a discussion with a believer from a different faith.  They feel so justified to point out the error of your ways.  

We make following Jesus so difficult by our own actions.  I am reminded this morning to keep it simple.  Don't over complicate being a Christian.  

So the next time you are being challenged, test the spirit of the challenge with the above Bible verse.  

God is great and loves all His children!!

My heart is full of Joy this morning, just want to sing praises to God our King.  Give the Lord the praises He deserves for without Him we are nothing. 

Today is Divine Mercy Sunday, sing or day a Divine Mercy Chaplet in honor of Jesus who conquered sin for all.

Acts 4:20

"It is impossible for us not to speak about what we have seen and heard."

Have you stopped and thought about the miraculous signs you have witnessed in this day and age, how the presence of Jesus is alive. Those around you see the difference yet don't understand. They are like those that would not believe when they were told that Jesus had rising from the dead.

I find myself reflecting this morning, He seeks each of us to reach out to the blind, the crippled, and the unbelieving. Be the one to knock so they may open the door to His presence.

Daily Thoughts 04-10-2015

Colossians 2:6-7

"So, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in him, rooted in him and built upon him and established in the faith as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving."
‭‭

Walk in Him?  How do we walk in Jesus?  Jesus seeks to be your friend, do you nourish that friendship.  Do you spend time talking with Him?   Root your self in getting to know Jesus.   It is no different than developing a friendship with a buddy.  It takes time but more importantly it takes effort.  It just doesn't happen unless you try.  

Our walk with Jesus should be every day not just on Sunday morning.  When we spend time in Jesus we get to know Jesus and not just know about Him.  

Give Him the glory and Thank your father for the day that lays ahead.

Romans 8:10-11

"But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the spirit is alive because of righteousness. If the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, the one who raised Christ from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also, through his Spirit that dwells in you."

Our every breath comes from God, we think we control our lives but God is the One who gives us life. When we realize that He is the One, our lives change, we realize our power comes from above. Our mortal bodies gain new life when Jesus enters and dwells in us. He always knock but we let Him in, be renewed in spirit knowing "Greater is He that lives in me than he that lives in the world"

Be His messenger today, be the one who knocks on the door to allow Christ to enter. Have a blessed day!

Acts 2:38-39

"Peter [said] to them, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the holy Spirit. For the promise is made to you and to your children and to all those far off, whomever the Lord our God will call."

Our journey in life isn't always easy as a Christian but we get to start over each and every day.   Yesterday is done all we have is today.   I have to be honest with you. I stumbled yesterday, nothing major but just fell and let life get in the way.  I get to start over today. 

Jesus's walk on this earth was to remind us, it is ok.  We are human but like Him we get to pick up our cross and keep moving forward towards the goal.  

The gifts of the Holy Spirit are all around you. Have you noticed any?   The above scriptures are from Him.  Listen, pay attention, give Him the glory and be humble.  God loves you!

Continue on my friend, Jesus has lead the way.

John 6:51

"I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world."

Jesus transformed the world that fateful day by risen from the dead.  God leads all of us closer to Him, it is us who choose what to do.  

I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.  John 14:6

Be transformed by Jesus Christ.  Be transformed by the sacraments, grow closer to our Lord every chance you get.  He is the Risen Lord - Praise be to Jesus.

Easter Sunday - He is Risen!

Acts 10:40-42

He commissioned us to preach to the people and testify that he is the one appointed by God as judge of the living and the dead."

We have all been given a gift by the Holy Spirit.  Jesus has entered our lives and dwells with us.  Be who God made you to be - a child of God, one of His Chosen.  

Listen to what the Fathers asks of you, and go forward.  Do not be afraid for He will always be there waiting on you.  

Rejoice - For Jesus has conquered death for you, He is Risen!!

John 19:25

"Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary of Magdala."

A mothers love is unfathomable, my thoughts today go back to what Mary must have been feeling on this Holy Saturday.   Her only Son Jesus, had been killed on a cross.  She held Him as a baby and had watched Him hang on a cross.  

Some don't understand why Catholics honor Mary but we all honor our own mother.  Mary is the mother of our Lord, the one that is in you.  What would Jesus do?

The silent protest was great, about 30 of us walking up and down at the antique fair.   Very few attended the Chippendales and loads of people got to see the old wooden cross on Good Friday.

Amen Brothers!

The cross of Jesus Christ changed the world.  The cross will change and transform our hearts into true followers of the Risen Lord Jesus Christ.  To follow Christ, is to first die to this world.  What we believed initially as important and necessary may have been a front for our own lacking in faith and trust in Jesus Christ.  Our Faith journey begins when we go before the cross and come humbly before Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  We kneel at the foot of the cross and look up at our Salvation, nailed to and hanging on the cross because he chose to free us from the bondage of our sins.  We ask from our hearts for forgiveness of our sins and to be transformed.  Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world.  We as creations in God's image- we are from God's Goodness, from His Great Love - His plan from the beginning was for us to commune with the Him. We belong to God, not to the world.  His Son is the Good Shepherd who will find the lost sheep and bring them home. 

[Isaiah 53:5] 
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Hebrews 4:15

Jesus's journey had its up and downs as well.  Lean on Him for safety, lean on Him for understanding.

Daily Thoughts 03-02-2015 Holy Thursday

John 13:15-17

"I have given you a model to follow, so that as I have done for you, you should also do. Amen, amen, I say to you, no slave is greater than his master nor any messenger greater than the one who sent him. If you understand this, blessed are you if you do it."
‭‭

If you do it?  Jesus died on a cross to ransom you.  The Passover feast for the Israelites was to remember having to put blood over the doorway so the first born would not die.  Jesus puts His blood over your doorway.  

What are you doing with it?  Are you living His example?  Do others see Christ thru you?  Even that guy at the office who gets under your skin, who does he see?  

Jesus washed the disciples feet to help them understand that their calling is to not be served but to serve.   To not let pride get in the way but be humble.  

Remember your journey in life is short, if you have to suffer a little for a friend, a stranger or loved one - think what would Jesus do?

As we begin today lets recall how Jesus lived His life.  He set the example for us.  He didn't seek a fancy title or nice things.  In fact He worked hard and was always willing to help.   He reached His hand out when someone was in need.   

We have the same opportunity to be  like Jesus today, to reach out and help.  When you take your eyes off of yourself and just follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you are living a Christ centered life.  We can never be Jesus but we can follow His example.
