Matthew 13:57-58
"And they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his native place and in his own house." And he did not work many mighty deeds there because of their lack of faith."
Why is it that we have influence over a stranger but our own families won't listen to us? There are no past histories for the stranger, they only see the present. The same with Jesus, maybe they recalled Jesus while he was growing up. They could not believe the stories they were hearing.
Be careful of placing judgements on those that you know their history. We could be passing up an opportunity to witness Jesus in action.
You know you are on target when you are taking on flack, enjoy your day and fear not. God is there with you.
