Daily Thoughts 5-23-2016 1 Peter 1:6-7

1 Peter 1:6-7

"In this you rejoice, although now for a little while you may have to suffer through various trials, so that the genuineness of your faith, more precious than gold that is perishable even though tested by fire, may prove to be for praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ."
‭‭
We are all tested by fire to see if our faith in the risen Lord is genuine. I heard a good homily yesterday that spoke of fire. The love of Christ is always there, when we remove ourselves from this fire, our faith begins to fade. The fire is always there but we don't feel it.

There are times in our lives when we don't feel like it. Love isn't a feeling, it is an action, you do it anyway. Moving towards God feeds our Spirit, it gives us hope in eternity. Offer your trials and sufferings to Him even when you just don't feel like it. The feeling will return because you have to feel the heat if you are in the fire.

Dear Lord God, I love you with all my heart, help me be a witness to that love especially those closest to me. May I never forget what my calling in life is and may I honor you today in actions, I pray for those that are in the heat of battle, may they turn to you in their time of need. Amen.

Lord Jesus, may the Eucharist be my power in the battle of life and the power of my intercession for souls. As I receive You in Holy Communion, help me to offer my little sufferings to You for the sake of souls - Sister Faustina.
