Daily Thoughts 10-23-2016 Luke 18:11

"The Pharisee took up his position and spoke this prayer to himself, 'O God, I thank you that I am not like the rest of humanity—greedy, dishonest, adulterous—or even like this tax collector."‭‭ Luke‬ ‭18:11‬

Do you ever compare yourself to someone else thinking you are better than them, thinking that what you are doing is earning favor with God. The Pharisee thought that way not realizing that he was really condemning himself.

Salvation is a gift there is nothing that we do that earns it. We should guard against being self righteous for the day you believe you have arrived is the day you have begun to lose. Be like the tax collector knowing that God will one day judge you and you are at His mercy.

Dear Heavenly Father, Your word says that the prayer of the lowly is always heard, may I always remain lowly. Guide my steps each day Lord God to come to know Your ways more and more. May I never look down on others and think better of myself. May I see what you see Lord God. I ask this in the of name, Jesus, Amen.
