"And he replied, "Then every scribe who has been instructed in the kingdom of heaven is like the head of a household who brings from his storeroom both the new and the old."" Matthew 13:52
Are you a scribe? Do you sit at the Masters feet and seek understanding in His word and store what He gives you? What better treasure to store than the grace He pours out. To wait patiently and listen to God reveals graces to us that we most likely would of glanced over. Did Jesus not tell us: "The Advocate, the holy Spirit that the Father will send in my name—he will teach you everything and remind you of all that [I] told you." John 14:26. I believe what He teaches is the new, an insight that we gained because we are earnestly seeking the Potter. And what He gives, if it sits in the storeroom, it serves no purpose. He expects us to give it away. What did He say yesterday? "Thus the LORD answered me: If you come back and I take you back, in my presence you shall stand; If you utter what is precious and not what is worthless, you shall be my mouth. Then they will be the ones who turn to you, not you who turn to them." Jeremiah 15:19. Discover the riches of God's word as you are spending time being instructed by His Holy Spirit.
Spirit of the Living God, instruct me in Your ways, reveal to me the depth of Your word. Use the events of my life to teach and mold me to become Your faithful servant. Thank You for the stillness of the morning and the joy in my soul as we visit together. May I remain humble in my efforts and recognize You in all that I do. Triune God be my all, Triune God be my all, Triune God be my all. Amen.
Mary, Daughter of Zion, pray for us.
Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. 1 John 4:4b
