Luke 7:14

"He stepped forward and touched the coffin; at this the bearers halted, and he said, "Young man, I tell you, arise!"

Jesus breaths life into each of us.  There is hope in Christ and the opposite without.  Life without Christ is dead, it is filled with things that are empty. 

What joy there must have been when this young man arose and started living again.  Jesus did this to him and still performs this miracle every day.  He brings new life back into dead bodies.  Is your hope grounded in Christ?

Dear Lord, You bring joy to our days.  Open our hearts to your message today, give us ears to listen to you telling us to arise and live the life that you intended us to live.  There is life in your word Lord, may it be revealed to us as we read it.  Amen.

Meditation: See, I have left My heavenly throne to become united with you. What you see is just a tiny part and already your soul swoons with love. How amazed will your heart be when you see Me in all My glory (Diary, 1810).    My Prayer Response: Lord Jesus, Holy Communion here on earth is a foretaste of the heavenly banquet! Help us, O Lord, to fittingly prepare for the eternal banquet by receiving You faithfully and lovingly at each Holy Communion.
