Daily Thoughts 4-30-2017 Luke 24:35

"You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.'" ‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:28‬

Walking with Jesus each day is a joy, reading scripture and getting to know our Lord and reflecting upon what is the message He is telling me, is a joy.  Spending time each day with Christ does fill you with joy.  It is in the time spent daily walking with Jesus, He helps you understand., He reveals Himself.  The real treasure is when YOU recognize Him in the breaking of the bread.  "Then the two recounted what had taken place on the way and how he was made known to them in the breaking of the bread." Luke‬ ‭24:35

Come Lord Jesus and fill us with Your Holy Spirit, may our hearts burn to know You more each day.  Be by our side as we walk through life and help us on our journeys.  Thank You for revealing Your mysteries to us and giving us the grace to follow You.  Be our everything so we may honor You with our lives each day in spreading the Good News in actions.  Amen.

Daily Thoughts 4-29-2017 John 6:18-19

"The sea was stirred up because a strong wind was blowing. When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat, and they began to be afraid." John‬ ‭6:18-19‬

How many times in our lives do we create distance between ourselves and Jesus, only to be fearful of His returning.  He never looses sight of us in our lives, always at the ready to intervene and help.  It is us who must decide to let him draw near, to invite him into our lives.  It is in those daily moments we get to know our Master, sitting at His feet and developing a friendship.  He loves you more than you can comprehend.  

Dear Heavenly Father, the moments in our lives when we feel we have no control you are always closer to us.  Awaken our senses to see you coming near, open our spirits to invite you in and remove any fear or doubt we may have.  Bless this day with Your presence and reunite us with Your Holy Spirit.  Amen.

Daily Thoughts 4-28-2017 John 6:11

"Then Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed them to those who were reclining, and also as much of the fish as they wanted." ‭‭John‬ ‭6:11‬

From the hands of Jesus, He feeds the multitude with such little.  This miracle is in all four gospels along with the resurrection.  We know the importance of the resurrection but what about the importance of the fishes and loaves?  Why is this miracle in all the gospels.  In His own words: "He said to them, "Do you still not understand?"" Mark‬ ‭8:21‬. How will you recognize Christ if you do not know Him in the presence of the Eucharist.  From the hands of Jesus, He feeds us at every mass.  

Dear Lord God, You feed Your people with Your flesh and blood.  Give us the understanding so we may honor You completely upon receiving Your very flesh and blood during mass.  Increase in us our desire to speak the truth to all that we meet.  Help us bring others to the True Vine, I ask this in the name of Jesus, amen.

Daily Thoughts 4-27-2017 John 3:34

"For the one whom God sent speaks the words of God. He does not ration his gift of the Spirit." ‭‭John‬ ‭3:34‬

Obedience to the word of God is the keys to His Spirit.  God gives us direction and we either choose to follow or we do not.  God doesn't ration His gift, we ration the receiving by our obedience.  It is like teaching a child, the more He obeys direction the more you give to help them grow. Listen to what you are being told and then follow.  We all know time out is no fun for kids.

Dear Heavenly Father, You loves us so much, You sent Your Son to hang on a tree for each of us.  May I always be obedient to Your direction.  May I always trust what You ask of me.  May I step out on faith, knowing You are there to guide me.  Thank You for Your loving guidance and for Your friendship.  You are deserving of all my love, may I not hold back.  I ask this through Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer, Amen.

Pray for the men's retreat this weekend, may the gifts of God's Holy Spirit be revealed to all in attendance.

Daily Thoughts 4-26-2017 Psalms 34:2-3

"I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise shall be always in my mouth. My soul will glory in the LORD; let the poor hear and be glad." ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭34:2-3‬

Do you ever deal with someone who is arrogant or proud?  They look at themselves as though they have charge over their world.  In the morning do you slow down and praise God?  Do you thank Him for the day ahead.  Even in our busy lives we can slow down and listen.  If arrogance is a challenge, it is a matter of time before your pride will catch up, then the spirit becomes poor.  Maybe then we will slow down and worship God.  You are never too busy, your choices today will set your path tomorrow.

Dear Lord God, You are merciful and always ready to accept us no matter where we are at.  May I listen to You and follow, may I not get caught up in the busyness of the day and miss those opportunities to turn to you.  Our plans may get changed but You are always in control.  Give us peace in knowing You are God and wait patiently for us.  I ask this in Jesus name, amen.

Daily Thoughts 4-25-2017 1 Peter 5:7

"Cast all your worries upon him because he cares for you." 1 Peter‬ ‭5:7‬

Jesus, I trust in You.  God tells us to place our trust in Him, to cast our worries upon Him.  Do you think you can add another day to your life by worrying?  Thank God for your troubles for through them you are being strengthened.  You care that is why you worry.  Turn to Christ and give them to Him, say an extra prayer and know that He will not abandon you.  "The God of all grace who called you to his eternal glory through Christ [Jesus] will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you after you have suffered a little." ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭5:10‬. The victory is His!!  He is risen.

Dear Lord Jesus, You bless us with your teachings in the gospels, may I recall these words in my times of worry.  Help me to open Your Word and read, help me to cast all my cares upon You, You are my Savior and my Lord.  Fill us with Your Holy Spirit and may we always have a kind word for those we meet.  Blessed be the name of Jesus, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 4-24-2017 Acts 4:29:30

"And now, Lord, take note of their threats, and enable your servants to speak your word with all boldness, as you stretch forth [your] hand to heal, and signs and wonders are done through the name of your holy servant Jesus." ‭‭Acts‬ ‭4:29-30‬

The name of Jesus, He defeated death and was raised up.  There isn't anything He can not conquer.  God tells us to claim our victory over death by following Christ, to be bold and stretch forth our hands.   It is our faith in Christ that God uses to heal.  Live in the presence of Jesus today, carry Him with you where ever you go.  Let His light shine, if not you then who?

Dear Heavenly Father, You prepare us for the day.  You enable us to speak of You with boldness, be ever on our lips.  May we always be prepared to give reason for our joy.  Enable us to claim victory over sin in the name of Jesus, our Risen Lord.  Bless this day with joy and may the light of Christ be in our hearts.  I ask this Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever, Amen.

Divine Mercy Sunday Daily Thought 4-23-2017 John 20:21

"[Jesus] said to them again, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you."" ‭‭John‬ ‭20:21‬. "And every day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved." ‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:47B‬

Faith is shared, it is given away and received by others.  As you live your faith is being passed on.   Is your faith that of doubting Thomas?  Is your faith that of Peter?  Jesus sends His disciples forward to spread His message, to share His life with others.  Go where the Father sends you and be in peace, He is there ahead of you.  Go forth and spread the Gospel with your life, speak and be heard, act and be seen, by those that are being called.  We are all being called.

Dear Lord God, what a blessed day You have provided for us.  May we be in awe of what we witness each day we live our faith.  Increase in us our love for You, remove our unbelief with actions and may we help build Your Kingdom one day at a time.  May Your mercy rest upon us as we live our lives for You.   I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 4-22-2017 Mark 16:11

"When they heard that he was alive and had been seen by her, they did not believe." ‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:11‬

Jesus is alive!  He lives within you and me, we profess with our lives the Risen Lord.  Do those around you believe?   They see the change but can't see the Risen Lord.  Why is it we don't believe, are we conditioned by society to doubt what we see?  Jesus is alive, He is real!  Claim new life in Christ and go tell it on the mountains.  Whether they chose to believe is their choice, they just don't know what you know.  God is not dead, He is alive!!

Dear Heavenly Father, You breath new life into these old bones.  You turn darkness into day, You are the Risen Hope that is in my heart, I thank You for Your spirit, may I share it with everyone I come in contact with.  Bless this day with the Risen Lord, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 4-21-2017 John 21:13-14

"Jesus came over and took the bread and gave it to them, and in like manner the fish. This was now the third time Jesus was revealed to his disciples after being raised from the dead." ‭‭John‬ ‭21:13-14‬

The Risen Lord, He feeds us His body so we may have eternal life!  Praise God!  What is the significance of bread?  Do you notice how Jesus continually breaks bread with His followers, He also says "Do this in remembrance of me" 1 Corinthians 11:24.  Unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood you do not have live within you.  John 6:53.  We are each called to the supper of the Lamb, to partake in the life of Christ.  How are you to have life eternal if you do not have faith in the body and blood of Jesus in the Eucharist?  It requires faith to see the Risen Lord, it requires faith to see Christ in the Eucharist.  

Dear Lord God, thank You for a beautiful morning to sit and reflect upon Your word.   Thank You for stirring my heart and instilling Your thoughts in my mind.  The day is only beginning and I know together there isn't anything that we can not handle.  Your life is our example on how to live, may I glorify You in all I do.  In those moments You give or I fall victim to, may I always thank You even if it is challenging for it is You who is charge of this day.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 4-20-2017 Luke 24:46-47

"And he said to them, "Thus it is written that the Messiah would suffer and rise from the dead on the third day and that repentance, for the forgiveness of sins, would be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem."
‭‭Luke‬ ‭24:46-47‬

Choosing between right and wrong in our lives happens every single day from the moment we get up, till the time we go to sleep.  Jesus suffered and dies so we may have new life in Him.  Do you give Him that authority?   The decisions you make do they empower Jesus to live within you.  Do not be like the crowd that denied our Lord and released Barabas "You denied the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you." Acts3:14 The murderer is the devil, sinning releases him into our lives every single time.  Ask the Holy and Righteous one to live within you, He defeated the evil one, let Him go to battle for you.  

Dear Lord God, You know whom we have given power to.  Praise be Jesus if it be You and praise be Jesus if it be the murderer for You know how to defeat death.  Breath life into our spirits Lord, breath joy into our days.  Show us how sin interferes with our relationship with You, help us make right choices so You are empowered in our lives.  I ask this in the name of the Holy and Righteous one, Jesus Christ, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 4-19-2017 Luke 24:36

"Then the two recounted what had taken place on the way and how he was made known to them in the breaking of the bread." ‭‭Luke‬ ‭24:35‬

Do you recognize the Living presence of Jesus in the Eucharist?  The story of the two walking to emmasus and how they didn't recognize Jesus walking with them.  How Jesus made the scriptures come to life "Then beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he interpreted to them what referred to him in all the scriptures. Luke 24:35.  The same is said about the Eucharist, manna from heaven, the offerings at the altar.  Jesus continues to make His presence known in the Eucharist, do you see Him?  "Jesus said to them, "Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you." ‭‭John‬ ‭6:53‬

Dear Heavenly Father, You sent manna from Heaven to feed Your people.  You gave Your people instruction on Holy offerings in Leviticus.  You always provide a way for us to honor You.  May we recognize You in the Eucharist each time we receive You.  Breath into us Your holy word and Your living presence.  May the Pascal mysteries come to life for each of us.  Amen.

Daily Thoughts 4-18-2017 Acts 2:37-38

"Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and they asked Peter and the other apostles, "What are we to do, my brothers?" Peter [said] to them, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the holy Spirit." ‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:37-38‬

Can you picture yourself being in the crowd listening to Peter knowing you may have been one of them that yelled out "crucify Him".   Now Peter is testifying to them and they are feeling the guilt and pain of their actions.   Peter gives them the salvation from Jesus if they accept his words.  These words ring true today, it is Jesus speaking and offering His salvation.  "Repent and be baptized every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the holy Spirit."  Come Holy Spirit and renew the face of the earth.  

Dear Lord God, Your words speak truth, we are not to condemn but offer forgiveness and hope.  May my actions be that of Peter today, shinning the light of Christ into a world that yells crucify You but wants forgiveness.   Lift up our spirits Lord and bless this day.  I love You and adore You because by Your holy cross You have redeemed the World.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 4-17-2017 Acts 2:25-28

"For David says of him: 'I saw the Lord ever before me, with him at my right hand I shall not be disturbed. Therefore my heart has been glad and my tongue has exulted; my flesh, too, will dwell in hope, because you will not abandon my soul to the netherworld, nor will you suffer your holy one to see corruption. Jesus is risen along with all those who died before Him who followed the will of the Father.  Listen, what is He telling you?  Be the yeast.  

Dear Lord God, You are my strength and salvation.  It is You that I hope for.  Today is a new day to walk with the Risen Christ, be ever at my side, pointing in the direction I should go.  Breath into me Your Holy Spirit and guide my path to peace.  I ask this in Jesus's name, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 4-16-2017 1 Corinthians 5:8

"Therefore let us celebrate the feast, not with the old yeast, the yeast of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth." ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭5:8‬

Jesus Christ is risen, we have journeyed through lent to prepare ourselves for the Risen Lord.  We are to carry Him into the marketplace, the old we are to leave behind and the New we are to carry forward.  He walks amongst us to show the way, listen and follow.  Be the yeast.

Dear Lord Jesus, You are alive in my heart.  Be the yeast that rises in our thoughts.  Thank You God for giving us Your Son, the New Covenant, so we may have eternal life.  Breath into us the Risen Lord so we may bring Your truth to others.  Be the hope in our eyes of the Living God.  Live within so we may die to sin.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Risen Lord, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 4-15-2017 Romans 6:6

"We know that our old self was crucified with him, so that our sinful body might be done away with, that we might no longer be in slavery to sin." Romans‬ ‭6:6‬

Our human nature sometimes gets the better of us.  Christ died so that we may no longer be under the power of sin.  It is he who gives us strength to die to our sin.  There is life in Christ Jesus, there is power in the blood of the Lamb.  Remember what Jesus did for us and sin no more.  

Let us pray to our Redeemer, who suffered for us, was buried, and rose from the dead.

– Lord, have mercy on us.

Christ, our Lord, you saw your mother standing by the cross;

  may we share your saving passion in our time of suffering.

– Lord, have mercy on us.

Christ, our Saviour, you died like a grain of wheat falling into the ground;

  gather us to yourself in the harvest of redemption.

– Lord, have mercy on us.

Christ, our shepherd, lying in the tomb you were hidden from men;

  teach us to love our real life, which is hidden with you in God.

– Lord, have mercy on us.

Christ, the new Adam, you went down into the world of the dead to free the just;

  may those who are dead in sin hear your voice and live.

– Lord, have mercy on us.

Son of the living God, we were buried with you in baptism;

  let us rise with you, alive to God for ever.

Daily Thoughts 4-14-2017 John 19:28p

"After this, aware that everything was now finished, in order that the scripture might be fulfilled, Jesus said, "I thirst." John‬ ‭19:28‬

The world is moving pretty fast, the world is out for self.  Jesus thirsts for us, for us to turn from our sinful ways and come to Him.  He thirsts for us, today we remember the crucifixion of the Son of Man, do you thirst for Him?  Does your actions show it?  As you go about your day remember what the Son of Man did for you. 

Dear Jesus, I thirst for You, I am sorry for falling short on a regular bases.  I am sorry for my pride and my controlling nature.  You humbled Yourself on the cross so that I may have life eternal.   Help me lay down my pride and desire to control at Your most holy cross.  I love You and adore You because by Your holy cross You have redeemed the world.  Amen.

Daily Thoughts 4-13-2017 John 13:14-15

"If I, therefore, the master and teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash one another's feet. I have given you a model to follow, so that as I have done for you, you should also do." ‭‭John‬ ‭13:14-15‬

You should also do, Jesus doesn't say we have to do or must do.  He said should, Jesus leads by example, He always points to the Father and He serves and reaches out.  He goes beyond Himself.  As we begin the tridium pay attention to how Jesus lived His life and share in His joy by imitating Jesus.  Are you willing to die to self?

Dear Lord Jesus, I love You and adore You.  You teach by example and never stop loving us.  Help me see how I am to follow.  Pour out Your grace upon Your servants.  I thank You for the Passover meal that You prepared for us.  As we celebrate the Passover, protect us from every evil by Your blood.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 4-12-2017 Psalms 69:21

"Insult has broken my heart, and I despair; I looked for compassion, but there was none, for comforters, but found none." ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭69:21‬

I can't help but think of Jesus and how He felt when being persecuted, who came to His rescue?  It was a lonely walk to carry that burden and the same can be true for us if we carry the load by ourselves.  He asks each of us, do we show compassion to those around us, do we offer comfort to those in need?  Jesus will rise and so will you, pray for those that are in need.  Offer up an intention especially for those burdened with a broken heart.  

Lord Jesus, You bless us each day with wonderful encounters with others.  May they see the Risen Lord shine in our eyes.  May they see a loving, compassionate follower of Christ.  Lord, help us see the peace in sitting at Your feet each morning and spending time with You.  It is You who heals, may our time with You each day strengthen us for the day ahead. I ask this in Your most holy name, Jesus Christ.

Daily Thoughts 4-11-2017 Isaiah 49:4

"Though I thought I had toiled in vain, for nothing and for naught spent my strength, Yet my right is with the LORD, my recompense is with my God." ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭49:4‬

In our darkest moments, He shines brightest.  God calls us forward, when we obey the results are His not ours.  Jesus from the cross did not have a lot to show for His actions but look what They have done with it now.  As a follower of Christ the journey belongs to Him, who are you trying to glorify?

Dear Heavenly Father, I trust in you.  Some days I feel like I am toiling in vain and going no where, You know what the plan is.  Keep me focused on the prize, my Lord and bless this day.  Thank You Lord Jesus for taking that lonely walk so I can be with The Father, I love You.  Amen.

""Why was this perfume not sold for three hundred denarii and given to poor people? ""‭‭John‬ ‭12:5‬

Judas said this after Mary prepared Jesus for His coming death.  His heart wasn't concerned about anything but himself.  How many times do we miss the gifts God can give us when we are thinking about self.  Never miss these opportunities, remove the eyes from self and humble yourself before the Lord.  

Lord Jesus, as we begin Holy Week, help us reflect upon You and Your willingness to lay down Your life so we may be come free from sin.  Move our thoughts away from the frivolous things of this world and focus on You, our Savior.  The lessons we receive even in our failures are treasures if we place our trust in You.  Thank You for Your constant guidance so we may find eternal life.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 4-10-2017 Matthew 26:57

"Those who had seized Jesus led Him away to Caiaphas, the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were gathered together." ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭26:57‬

The Pascal Lamb being lead away to slaughter, do you understand the meaning of the Pascal Lamb. To prepare for the Passover meal a lamb needed to be purchased.   The Lamb was to be pure and without blemish.  The blood from the lamb would be spread around the doorway so the family was protected and the flesh of the lamb was to be eaten.  

Jesus, was sold into the sin of slavery, bought at a price for thirty pieces of sliver, He was innocent and pure, without blemish, without sin.  His blood is what washes us clean from our sin and His body, the bread of life we are to consume to feed us for the spiritual journey.   

He is the Pascal Lamb, have you considered returning to the Church of your fathers, where the true presence of the Pascal Lamb is celebrated?

Dear Lord God, You teach us each day what You want us to know.  You gave Your life for each of us, may I acknowledge this in my actions.  Help me follow Your example of setting my will aside.  I thank You and praise You Lord Jesus for giving each so much.  You are the King of the Jews, sent to save each of us with the blood of the Pascal Lamb.  To God be the Glory for ever and ever, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 4-8-2017 John 11:56

"So they were seeking for Jesus, and were saying to one another as they stood in the temple, "What do you think; that He will not come to the feast at all?" John‬ ‭11:56‬

Jesus is the feast, it is He whom we turn too in our times of need.  Jesus will come to each of us but we must invite Him.  He will not come uninvited, does it not say, "ask and you shall receive".  Too many times we wait for the answer but we don't ask for it.  Jesus is the answer that you have been searching for.  God bless and may the Holy Spirit come upon you today for you have been searching and now you have found Him, you are the temple He resides in.  

Dear Heavenly Father, You are a loving and merciful God.  Send the gift of Your Son Jesus to all seeking for Him.  Empower them to speak the word of truth that others may come to know the Son of the Living God.  Bless this day Lord and may we be guided by the Holy Spirit to do the work that You have given us to do.  In Jesus name, amen.

Daily Thoughts 4-7-2017 John 6:63

"It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life." ‭‭John‬ ‭6:63

Where is your treasure?  What does it profit a man to gain the whole world but loose his soul in the process.  If you think about the things that bring true joy they have nothing to do with the flesh.  They are friendship, family, helping someone in need, giving of yourself.  These are the things in life that is the treasure.  What is God's word telling you?  

Lord, break the bonds of sin

  which our weaknesses have forged to enchain us,

and in your loving mercy

  forgive your people's guilt.

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,

  who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,

  one God, for ever and ever.

Daily Thoughts 4-6-2017 Psalms 95:8

If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts. Psalms 95:8

Listening to God, He speaks to all of us, do we really listen to Him?  There is story after story of normal ever day people who did listen in the Bible.  Starting in Genesis 12, Abram listened and followed.  Noah is another normal ever day guy who listened in Genesis 6.  They didn't harden their hearts, they took God for His word and followed.  Are you being asked to do something, are you being asked to wait, listen to what God is telling you and then follow your heart.  

Dear Lord Jesus, open the ears of my heart, make Your servant pliable in Your loving hands.  Breath life into these olds bones and bring life into Your world.  Help us see mountains being moved when we are faithful to Your voice.  Encourage us as we follow Lord so the light of Christ may shine forth into a world that chooses not to listen.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 4-5-2017 Daniel 3:28

"Nebuchadnezzar responded and said, "Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego, who has sent His angel and delivered His servants who put their trust in Him" Daniel‬ ‭3:28‬a

Trusting God is easy when everything is going right, when things aren't going right or the outcome you envisioned doesn't seem to happen is when trusting God really counts.  The trials of life aren't easy but always trust God, if you are His and He is yours, them don't worry He knows what He is doing.  His plans are always better than ours anyway.   

Dear Lord God, Your ways are marvelous, You are the God of hope who directs my path.   May I always trust in Your ways and be at peace in all situations.  Bring joy into my day and comfort knowing You are my God.  Blessed be Your Holy Name, may I always praise You Lord, even when the fire is hottest.  I ask this in Jesus name, amen.

Daily Thoughts 4-4-2016 John 8:28

"So Jesus said, "When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and I do nothing on My own initiative, but I speak these things as the Father taught Me." John‬ ‭8:28‬

We are drawing closer to Holy Week, where we recall the days of Jesus's crucifixion.   Do you look to Jesus on the cross?  Do you praise Him for sacrificing Himself so that you can conquer sin?  Jesus honors our Father by following His direction, by turning to Him in His time of need.  We, likewise, need to turn and follow the direction of Jesus.  When you are weak, look to Jesus and ask for help. He did not die in vain for you, you will justify His suffering by turning away from sin.  

Dear Lord Jesus, the walk we all must walk isn't easy.  Each day brings many different things, help us turn to You and Your life.   Guide our steps today so we may lift high the cross and honor You with our lives.  Help us reach out to those in need and be there when they need a listening ear or a kind word.  Bless this day Lord and may You always be in our thoughts.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 4-3-2017 Ezekiel 33:11

"Say to them, 'As I live!' declares the Lord GOD, 'I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn back, turn back from your evil ways! Why then will you die, O house of Israel?" ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭33:11

To walk in the ways of God, this is what we are called to do.   God is merciful and gives us every opportunity to turn towards Him.  That little voice that tells you not to do it, don't drown it out or cover it up.  This is the Holy Spirit, given to you so you will make the choice to follow God.  It is a learned skill, to listen and follow.  

Dear Heavenly Father, You hear us early in the morning, You prepare us for the day.  You give us the choice of life, may I follow Your direction.  Raise up more Godly man to follow You, this generation needs to see You in action.  The youth desire to know You are real and alive in their elders.  May I be a loving example of a follower of Christ.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 4-2-2017 Ezekiel 37:14

"I will put My Spirit within you and you will come to life, and I will place you on your own land. Then you will know that I, the LORD, have spoken and done it," declares the LORD.'" Ezekiel‬ ‭37:14‬

I went to mass yesterday where there was a confirmation.  It made me think of my confirmation, His Spirit was instilled but not activated at least in any outwardly way.  The bishop sends us forth and then we decide how we respond.  Do we let Christ shine thru, do we give authority to Christ to take over.  The decision is ours, God speaks, "He cried out with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come forth." John‬ ‭11:43‬  Lazarus has to listen and then come out, otherwise he is still dead.  

Father, I thank You for instilling Your Holy Spirit within me, I know I haven't always responded as You would have liked.  I still need to listen better and follow Your direction.  May Your Holy Spirit guide me today and may I respond as You would.  Lord, may Your will be stronger in our lives and may Your Holy Spirit convict us when not doing Your will.   I ask this in the name above every other name, Jesus Christ, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 4-1-2017 John 7:46

"The officers answered, "Never has a man spoken the way this man speaks."" ‭‭John‬ ‭7:46‬

Jesus speaks truth, He speaks what the Father gives Him to say.  The people were not used to hearing such truths for it was quite a contrast to what they normally heard from the scribes and Pharisees.  Are the times any different now, some trying to push their agenda or cover up some falsehood.   Jesus spoke with authority, directly from the Father and what He said happened.  It wasn't half truths or twisted to fit some agenda.  "and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."" ‭‭John‬ ‭8:32‬

Dear Lord Jesus, we live in a world not any different than during Your days.  May the truth of Christ fill our hearts and pass our lips.  Give us the grace to speak the truth all the time.  Give us the grace to walk in the truth at all times.  Remove from us the burden of sin so our words are Your words.  A Special prayer for a friend that is struggling, give him strength to overcome the lies of the world.  May the Spirit of Truth fill his soul.  I ask this in Your most holy name, Amen.
