Matthew 4:19 11-30-2018 dailythoughts.com

"He said to them, "Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men."" ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭4:19‬

This one verse defines the mission of discipleship: come and then go.   The twelve apostles where the first to come after Him and it took over three years before their belief had matured to the point that they could go.  How is your belief?   The apostles spent time with Jesus, they spent time getting to know the Holy Spirit, the spent time honoring the Father.  They witnessed Christ in action, their belief grew.  Your discipleship is no different, we first must come after Jesus, we must learn from Him, whether that is in worship, sitting in His presence or gathering in small groups to learn, spending time is key.   "But how can they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how can they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone to preach?" ‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:14‬.  As your belief grows so does the catch but never stop casting the net, fishing is a skill that requires effort.

Dear Heavenly Father, there are days that nothing is in the net, increase my belief.  Open my heart to the possibility to Your mission in my life.  Thank You for the blessings that are being poured out and for those that are learning and helping to fish.  When I open my mouth, I trust in You for the words.  Jesus is returning, May we turn our gaze upon Him and recognize the importance of our actions and belief.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Mother of the Child Jesus, pray for us.

Luke 21:28 11-29-2018 dailythoughts.com

"But when these signs begin to happen, stand erect and raise your heads because your redemption is at hand." ‭‭Luke‬ ‭21:28‬

There is beauty and calmness in the silence of the morning.  There is much noise in our lives but in the silence there is power, there is the opportunity to develop your relationship with God.  His Word speaks to us to the events of our lives and gives us peace that nothing will harm you, for you are His.  Spending this time in silence prepares you to stand erect and raise your heads during difficult times.  You learn to praise God and hear Him speak through His word.  All the scriptures have not been fulfilled as of yet so you still have time to grow in faith and your understanding of the Triune God before the day of redemption is at hand.

Dear Father God, I pray for those lost in the noise, I pray their challenges force them to turn to You and be able to sit in the silence so You can engage in their lives.  I thank You for the many opportunities to live for You, I thank You for Your strength during the stuff. I will praise You this day in whatever situation you allow to happen, I am Yours and I thank You for that.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Revelation 15:3-4

"and they sang the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb: "Great and wonderful are your works, Lord God almighty. Just and true are your ways, O king of the nations. Who will not fear you, Lord, or glorify your name? For you alone are holy. All the nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous acts have been revealed."" Revelation‬ ‭15:3-4‬

Walking with God each and every day brings a joy, you witness the works and repairs He is doing in your life and every where you go.  You also witness others not walking with God and creating works that bring about turmoil.  Whether we realize it or not we knowingly worship God or we unknowingly, without thinking worship the evil one.  God requires our intellect and spirit.  The devil just wants us to rush into the day, who has time for all that prayer, you go to church on Sundays, you are a good person meanwhile the world grabs you from the moment you get out of bed.  Praise God, If He grabs you the minute your eyes open.  There is a joy beyond understanding walking with God each and every day.  Sing His praises.

Dear Lord God, I thank You for Your Holy protection over myself, my family, my friends, my place of business and my day.  You are mighty and mighty are your deeds.  Thank You for the joy in my spirit this morning, thank You for never letting me rush into the day.  I did that for way too long and all it brought was false hope.  You are my God, You are my guide and You allow me to see through Your lenses.  May I always find favor with You for You are my King.  To God be the Glory, Amen.

Revelation 2:10c 11-27-2018 dailythoughts.com with music

"Remain faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life." Revelation‬ ‭2:10‬c

Saying these words and living them are two different things.  It is easy to claim Christianity but can you walk the talk?  What about when you are being tried(purified), do you remain faithful to the teachings of Christ?  Or do you take charge and fire on?  Jesus lived them, He died living them and received the crown of life.  In our daily lives do we slow down and recognize Christ in our own actions.  Is it His response or is it my response, Walking the talk gives proof to Christ within.  "You tested us, O God, tried us as silver tried by fire." ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭66:10‬.  The crown comes with a price, Jesus won your salvation but you will be tried as fire, you will be purified.

Dear Heavenly Father, I can see the err of my ways when I just talk the talk.  I thank You for helping me walk the talk.  I thank You for us being able to visit and throughout the day You reveal the answer.  I may not like the answer but I know You are leading me.  I thank You for the guidance and the opportunity to grow in my faith and our relationship.  Bless this day Lord, help those lost by their own actions.  May they slow down and listen to Your wise counsel.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Psalms 24:3-4 11-26-2018 dailythoughts.com

"Who may go up the mountain of the LORD? Who can stand in his holy place? "The clean of hand and pure of heart, who has not given his soul to useless things, what is vain." Psalms‬ ‭24:3-4‬

What was your first thought this morning as you woke up?  Was it something that would please God or was it something that was vain or useless?  Seeking God requires sacrifice, it requires being on guard at all times, it requires protecting your soul!  Your journey to God will not come easy, it will take effort on your part but with Heaven as the reward it beats anything this world can provide.  Stay awake and be attentive to the voice of God.

Dear Lord, I thank You for this day that lays ahead.  May my drowsiness not get the better of me.  May my motives be pure and may I always be on guard to not fall victim to the ways of the devil.  I thank You for my guardian angel who is constantly seeking my protection and steering me away from harm.  Bless this day Lord, and may You always be in the forefront of my thoughts.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Mark 11:9b 11-25-2018 dailythoughts.com

"Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" ‭‭Mark‬ ‭11:9‬b

Are you being transformed into the body and blood of Jesus?  There are many thoughts going thru my head this morning.  I watch as we let our emotions get the better of us and we carry hurts and pains, we put up walls in an effort to protect ourselves.  As Christians is this what Christ did, is this what He asks us to do?  No.  As Christians we are called to break walls down, to bring the peace of Christ wherever we go.  Jesus asks you today to examine yourself, if He is King of your heart are your actions His.  Are you proclaiming Christ with all your being, are you forgiving when it hurts, are you understanding of others faults?  We are all called to come in the name of the Lord, do we?

Dear Lord God, You know my weaknesses and the pains that I carry, I ask that You be greater than all of these.  I desire to be transformed into Your body and blood even in my human weaknesses.  I thank You for our relationship, I thank You for illuminating those areas of my life that cause You pain.  As my King, may I honor You with my sacrifice each day to lay down my life and carry you wherever we go.  Praise, honor and glory to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!  Amen.

Psalms 144:1 11-24-2018 dailythoughts.com

"Blessed be the LORD, my rock, who trains my hands for battle, my fingers for war;" ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭144:1‬

How is your training going?  When we thing about a battle or war we tend to thing about aggression but with God the battle is His.  We are to train for the front line but in a different way.  Sitting still each day in His presence, pondering upon His word and listening for His small whispers is the training.  This prepares you for battle as you step out the door.  Prayer is the battle weapon, hands folded together pointing upward.  Fingers grasping a rosary and feeling each bead as you pray.  Understanding that He is your rock, no matter the situation, give it to Him in prayer and be at peace.  Have you soldiered up today, there is no better place to be and the energy is amazing.

Dear Lord God, being in union with You releases the pressure of having to solve our own situations.  Help us live in peace with Your training, help us be obedient to Your commands and open up a new way to go to battle.  Hands clasped we are ready.  You are my rock whom I trust in all situations, thank You for this day.  Prayers for an elderly lady who has fallen and for her family, may they find comfort in knowing You are the Supreme Leader.   I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Luke 19:48 11-23-2018 dailythoughts.com

"but they could find no way to accomplish their purpose because all the people were hanging on his words." ‭‭Luke‬ ‭19:48‬

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
‭‭John‬ ‭1:1‬  Do you devour the Word of God, do you sit each day and chew on God, on His word?  Taking God into your spirit each day, drives away those things on the outside that want to separate you from God.  Inviting Jesus in each day will give you peace and He being the Word, will begin to cleanse from the inside out.  "So I went to the angel, telling him to give me the little book. And he said to me, "Take it and eat it; it will make your stomach bitter, but in your mouth it will be sweet as honey."" ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭10:9‬.  There is joy in knowing the life of Christ and on the inside He begins to make changes, the changes you want but are unable to do.  You know what your Spirit is telling you, do you listen to the Word of God on the inside.  Live the scripture.

Dear Father God, I am still full from thanksgiving dinner but am driven to seek You each morning.  I hang on Your words and chew on your life a little each day.  You are greater within than anything on the outside, this gives me peace and strength.  Thank You Father for encouraging me each day to turn to You even when, at times, the desire isn't there.  You are blessing each of us from the inside out, May Your words be as sweet when they come out as they are going in.  Be my everything, Amen.

Revelations 5:911-22-2018 dailythoughts.com

"And they sang a new song, saying, "Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals; for You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation." Revelation‬ ‭5:9‬

There is a lot to be thankful for this morning, the most important of all is my salvation.  He, Jesus, died on a cross so I could have new life in Heaven and on earth.  As you are giving thanks today, think about the price He willingly paid for you and give thanks where it rightly belongs.  Slowing down and giving thanks help us realize how blessed we truly are.  For some it has been a difficult year but you know, you are loved by God and He has seen you through it.  All these things are nothing compared to eternity, what a blessing to ponder that you were purchased.  ""You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth."" ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭5:10‬.  Our respond back is our song to God, live with a thankful heart all the time, learn to thank God even in the trials for they are nothing in the picture of eternity.  Happy Thanksgiving, You are in my prayers and thoughts everyday, share the love today with those that have yet to realize there is new life here in the Kingdom of God.

Dear Father God, my heart is filled with joy this morning.  You know my song for You put it there.  Thank You for the many opportunities to sing praise to You, to speak of the joy that You have given.  Thank You for my family and especially for the women You gave me to journey thru life, she is a treasure as I watch her prepare for this day.  Father, I will never be able to repay youbut I will never stop trying.  To Jesus be the glory and the power for ever and ever amen.

Happy Thanksgiving, be thankful for all things.

Luke 19:21-22b

"for I was afraid of you, because you are a demanding person; you take up what you did not lay down and you harvest what you did not plant.' He said to him, 'With your own words I shall condemn you, you wicked servant. You knew I was a demanding person" ‭‭Luke‬ ‭19:21-22‬b

Do you see the role fear plays in our lives, it will bring us death if we allow it to conquer us.  There is a difference between head knowledge and heart knowledge.  Fear is head knowledge for you are already predicting the outcome, heart knowledge is trusting in God for the outcome even though you maybe fearful.  Heart knowledge makes us act, head knowledge stymies our growth. We will give an accounting of our life.  God is demanding, but gives us free will to choose our path.  Where will we speak from, our head or our heart?  Where love of God resides, fear has no foothold.

Dear Father, we will move in small deliberate steps, accomplishing the tasks You lay in front of us.  May I always be obedient to Your will, help me ignore those moments of fear and doubt.  It is You I seek to please and no other, through this life You are leading us Home.  Bless this day Lord, protect all who are traveling this thanksgiving.  Help us speak often and fondly of You, May we use Your gifts to proclaim the Kingdom.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Revelations 3:19, 2111-20-2018 dailythoughts.com

"Those whom I love, I reprove and chastise. Be earnest, therefore, and repent. "I will give the victor the right to sit with me on my throne, as I myself first won the victory and sit with my Father on his throne." Revelation‬ ‭3:19‬, 21

If we are honest with ourselves we want the easy way, the path of least resistance, the places of honor.  Is this the victory that Jesus is talking about?  In our lives we will face adversity, times of trials and opportunities to strengthen our resolve.  Look upon these times as ways God is refining you, do not look for pity but count yourself worthy that the Master views you in high regard that You are worthy of His correction.  Take the time and look inward, what is He correcting and then go and repent of your sins.  The right to the throne is reserved for those who fought the good fight with joy in their heart living the will of the Master.  He loves You.

Dear Heavenly Father, we are guaranteed change in our lives and opportunities to do Your will.  Help me see the error of my ways and correct what needs correction.  Help me overcome my weaknesses of seeking the easy way.  Your way is always better but never easy.  I thank You Father for this day and the challenges it offers, prayers for a friend enduring difficult chastisement.  May this correction be permanent in his life as he is being prepared for the throne.  I love You Father God, Amen.

Psalms 1:1-2 11-19-2018 dailythoughts.com

"Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in company with scoffers. Rather, the law of the LORD is his joy; and on his law he meditates day and night." Psalms‬ ‭1:1-2‬

"For the LORD gives wisdom, from his mouth come knowledge and understanding;" ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭2:6‬  We are passing through this life and true knowledge and understanding comes from our Father.  Why do we waste our time seeking it someplace else?  The greatest muscle God gave us is our brain.  Do we use our intellect to mediate on Him and His law day and night.  When doing so we will not sit in the counsel of the wicked for we will see through their schemes.  We will speak the truth and let others decide for themselves whom they shall follow.  Jesus never stopped anyone with physical force, He just presented the truth.   Each day brings new adventures and opportunities to learn, chew on the word of God and grow in joy.

Dear Heavenly Father, there is so much to comprehend but You teach us with kind and gentle ways in our daily lives.  Help us be attentive to Your Holy Spirit and not miss an opportunity to hear what is going on around us.  May our hearing be super sensitive today to Your wisdom and understanding.  Thank You Father for walking with us and leading by example through Your Son Jesus. I ask this in the of Christ, Son of the Living God.  Amen.

Mark 13:26 11-18-2018 dailythoughts.com

"And then they will see 'the Son of Man coming in the clouds' with great power and glory," Mark‬ ‭13:26‬

The Triune God coming in the clouds, can you imagine that day?  If you know the Son, you know the Father and if you know the Father and the Son, you know the Spirit.  Watching God transform lives and making His Presence know is a joy.  He is preparing us for that day for if we know Him and heed His voice today there will be no fear or trembling when He comes.  I can't imagine not knowing Him but if we choose to ignore what is happening before our eyes, we will come to know He is real on that day.  We will be fearful for we do not know Him when we had a chance, never forget He is Love.

Dear Triune God, You are awakening lost souls in great and mysterious ways, You make Your presence known to who You are.  We are to respond to Your call and assist in preparing the way.  You are the way, the truth and the life, awaken us to the Great Adventure so our journey thru life speaks of You and draws others to Christ.  Prayers for Joe who has just begun knowing the Triune God.  Bless this day and may we speak loud and clear through our actions.   In Jesus name, amen.

Luke 18:8 11-17-2018 dailythoughts.com

"I tell you, he will see to it that justice is done for them speedily. But when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?" Luke‬ ‭18:8‬

It is a great question that Jesus asks, He is the Son of Man, why did he ask it.  "Jesus said to him, "Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed." ‭‭John‬ ‭20:29‬  Do you operate on faith or do you have to have concrete evidence.  In my own life, I have seen and believe but I can't give any evidence other than how I walk.  Jesus asks each of us to operate on faith, sometimes that is scary because you are not in control.  Stop trying to control all the situations in your life.  Have faith that God is in control of your destiny and walk on faith even if you are uncomfortable, stretch yourself.

Dear Lord, it has been a busy week and I am sitting in our place of comfort.  You know what is best for each of us.  Help us realize that your plans are always better for us, and through this faith in You, You will bring about the Kingdom of God.  I am blown away by the faith of the Mens group, there is power in following You.  Prayers for those being stretched and being asked to get out of the boat to walk on water.  You always prepare the way and You ask us to trust in You with our steps of faith.  I love You and thank You for this time.  Thanks be to God, Amen.

Psalms 146:5 11-15-2018 dailythoughts.com

"How blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, Whose hope is in the LORD his God," ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭146:5‬

The God of Jacob.   We think God seeks our perfection but look at the life of Jacob.  He cheated his brother out of his birthright of the family's wealth.  He lied to his father to get his blessing over his brother.  He was far from perfect but his heart was for God.  In our lives are we seeking to be perfect or are we seeking God.  God knows your heart, He looks past your imperfections and excepts you for who you are.  He will discipline your imperfections, Jacob had to spend seven more years of servitude when wanting to marry Rachel.  Jacob never looked back, he accepted his fate and trusted in his God.  God is always there, even when we are not, He uses all for His good.  Don't know about you but I am thankful I worship the merciful and loving God of Jacob who is my help.

Dear God of Jacob, what a blessing to sit still today and spend time together.  You see everything and yet we spend time together.  You see my imperfections, my struggles, and our victories.  I am thankful for the desire to turn to you and acknowledge You in all that I do.  I am thankful that I turn to You in my moments of need.  You are my help and You are greater in me than the world around me. One day, thru Your grace, we will be together forever.  This I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 11-14-2018 dailythoughts.com

"In all circumstances give thanks, for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus."  ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5:18‬

As St Paul puts it, he lives with a thorn in his side that he would like removed.  Don't we all have things that we pray about but they seem to stay with you.  God reminds us to give Him thanks for we live under His authority.  When the time is right, He will cleanse us, we must be obedient to Him and always give thanks, even in the small trials of life.  God knows you better than you know yourself.  So some days we have to remind ourselves that even though the thorn creates discomfort, we are to be thankful for this circumstance.  We could end up like one of the nine lepers who got cleansed but never returned to thank God.

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for the circumstances even though I would rather not have to feel the discomfort, You know best for my life.  If there are things that I need to be doing different, please reveal those to me.  I am Your ardent disciple ready for discipline and open to You.  Bless this day, thank You for all that You provide.  I never want to not thank You and rely upon my own resources.  You are my authority and it is You I am obedient to.  Amen.

Luke 17:7 11-13-2018 dailythoughts.com

""Who among you would say to your servant who has just come in from plowing or tending sheep in the field, 'Come here immediately and take your place at table'?" Luke‬ ‭17:7‬

As a follower of Jesus, do you ever get to rest from this world?  No, It constantly seeks to get a hold of you so we must always have our guard up and be prepared to do what the Master asks of us.  Not easy being a follower of Christ, yet "Whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in this world will preserve it for eternal life." ‭‭John‬ ‭12:25‬.  As Christians, our work is never done.  It would be nice to sit at the table but only when we have done what we have been commanded to do and it has been prepared for you.  Until then we must be unprofitable servants in the vineyard.

Dear Father, You live with me each day and know me intimately.  You know what my heart desires and how I yearn for You.  Help me each day to live for You and not get weary or overwhelmed.  I am at Your service and will do what You ask of me.  Help me see the snares of the devil and give me strength to seek Your will always.  Blessings upon Your faithful servants, May they be strengthened for another day to go into the fields.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Luke 17:5 11-12-2018 www.dailythoughts.com

"And the apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith."" Luke‬ ‭17:5‬

In the circumstances of life, who do you place your trust in?  There is a joy in knowing that you are the child of The King.  Things don't always go as planned or the events of the day interfere with what we had hoped for but thru all of those situations you are loved beyond your wildest dreams.  Give thanks to our Father in Heaven for another beautiful day that He is totally in control off.  Let go of the wheel and allow God to be the captain of your life.  There is a joy that can not contain itself when we live under the tutelage of the Holy Spirit.  In asking God to increase our faith, it also means we are to place our trust in Him.  Be blessed today knowing you are chosen for this great adventure.  Don't hide that joy, let it out.

Dear Heavenly Father, what a great start to the day, my heart is ready O God, my heart is ready.   Thank You for the thoughts that are deeply implanted within my spirit, thank You for the faith that is instilled.  Thank You Father for handling all the circumstances of the day, You have my best interest at heart and I trust You implicitly.  Prayers for a friend who is learning to let go and let God, may they express the excitement of knowing You in the generosity of their heart.  Bless this day and increase our faith in You, Amen.

Hebrews 9:25-26

"Not that he might offer himself repeatedly, as the high priest enters each year into the sanctuary with blood that is not his own; if that were so, he would have had to suffer repeatedly from the foundation of the world. But now once for all he has appeared at the end of the ages to take away sin by his sacrifice." ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭9:25-26‬

Sacrifice, isn't this what Jesus did for each of us at a very personal level.  There is something special being Catholic and attending mass doing what Christ asks of each of us.  "and, after he had given thanks, broke it and said, "This is my body that is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.""
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭11:24‬ ‭

Whom do you serve?  I sat this morning in mass and thought back thru the centuries from the beginning of how God has lead His people thru the celebration at the altar.  In the mass He is fulfilling the law that His Father gave us.   ""Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill." Matthew‬ ‭5:17‬

Sacrifice is at the heart of the mass, it is at the heart of all Christians, especially during these times.  So the next time you are at the Altar, reflect upon your own sacrifice to God's people.  Whom do you serve?  One more thing that the priest always ends every homily with and I agree with him.  "Pray for one another."  Prayer isn't always words, the life of Jesus is His prayer back to His Father in Heaven.  "Then he took the bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body, which will be given for you; do this in memory of me."" ‭‭Luke‬ ‭22:19‬

Dear Heavenly Father, I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son.  With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified.  He has spoken through the Prophets.   I believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.   I acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.  I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.  Help me live these words in my daily actions.  Amen.

Philippians 4:13

"I have the strength for everything through him who empowers me." ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:13‬

Opportunity.  Do you realize that through our Lord Jesus Christ, He gives us opportunity to testify to His saving grace.  I love hearing testimonies on how Christ is empowering His faithful.  Even in our moments of weakness, He is empowering us for a greater purpose.  God within indicates when we are to stand up and we must be willing to surrender and step up.  It is His strength within you that will impact those around you.  We just have to recognize the opportunities and take the leap of faith.  "The person who is trustworthy in very small matters is also trustworthy in great ones." Luke‬ ‭16:10‬a

Dear Lord God, Thank You for the beautiful gift, it will be cherished forever and have a place of honor in my life.  I thank You for Your faithful servants who in small ways are stepping up and proclaiming the power of Your Son Jesus.  May I be counted worthy when called upon and step up, I pray I will.  Prayers for a kind heart that is in need of You, may He be empowered for a greater mission in Your Kingdom.  Bless this day and prayers for all those suffering in our world.   I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Our Lady of Victory, pray for us.

2 Chronicles 7:16

"now I have chosen and consecrated this house that my name may be there forever; my eyes and my heart shall be there always." ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭7:16‬

Did you know that Piety is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit.  Does your spirit desire pious devotion to God?   You, your person is the temple of the Lord.   "Do you not know that your body is a temple of the holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?" ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭6:19‬.  God chose you to be His Holy temple, a place where He resides so that through you, He may impact the world that you live in.  He is a choice we make each day and He resides in our heart if we will allow it.  How is your personal devotion to our Lord God?

Dear Father, I love You, live within and remove what ever impurities that are hiding in the corners.  Bless this day Lord.  Amen.

O angel of God Angel, My guardian dear To Whom God's love Commits me here. Ever this day Be at my side To light To guard To rule and guide. Amen

Luke 15:7 11-8-2018 dailythoughts.com Happy Brothers Day!

"I tell you, in just the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance." ‭‭Luke‬ ‭15:7‬

A little humility in our lives will go along way.  "all have sinned and are deprived of the glory of God." ‭‭Romans‬ ‭3:23‬.  We are all sinners and are in need of the glory of God especially in these times.  Step back and take a look at only your actions, are you right and they are wrong.  We all need repentance everyday, we justify our actions because in our way of thinking we are right yet Jesus wants us to think about our own actions and compare them to how He responded to the culture He lives in.  In seeing our own weaknesses and our own righteousness we realize we are in need of repentance.  Slow down, step back and look, be the one the angels in Heaven are rejoicing over.   Be Jesus to someone today, may He be greater than me.  Your actions are impacting the world around you.

Dear Heavenly Father, may I see what You see and be the difference in the world that is thirsty for truth.  Open us up to our self-righteous acts and convict us to change our thinking and our ways.  Help us seek repentance for our wrong doings, guide us to focus on You and use the past for Your glory.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Mary, Queen of Saints, pray for us.

Philippians 2:12 11-7-2018 dailythoughts.com

"So then, my beloved, obedient as you have always been, not only when I am present but all the more now when I am absent, work out your salvation with fear and trembling." ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:12‬

Is God ever absent in your life, interesting question isn't.  The Apostles experienced this absence first hand and we as disciples go thru periods when it feels like absence.  Obedience is the key word, during those periods of dryness we must continue to do those things that develops relationship with God.  Like the ten virgins waiting on the Master, not knowing His return, you do not want to let your lamp run out of oil.  To answer the question, He is never far from us, He I believe is testing our resolve if it is truly Him we desire or only the graces.  A little more to think about.

Dear Father God, I know You are never far from me even in those times it feels like a great distance.  I thank You for the resolve to persevere and continue to work out my salvation for it is never guaranteed, You guarantee it but I have a major role to play.  Prayers for a young man trying to find his way in life, may He be guided by You Lord and begin to see You everywhere.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Mother of Love, pray for us.

Luke 14:24 11-6-2018 dailythoughts.com

"For, I tell you, none of those men who were invited will taste my dinner.'"  ‭‭Luke‬ ‭14:24‬

The hustle and bustle of life can sure keep us busy and occupied with things.   The Bible verses leading up to this verse is of all those called but had more important things to do.  Each day we are invited to spend time with Christ, to contemplate His teachings and be fed by His Spirit.  What is so important in your life that you can not accept His invitation.  God is asking us to always have Him first in our lives.  What ever choices we make, God needs to be first.  You never know when the dinner table is set for you.  The choice is always yours on which you will choose.

Dear Lord God, I am thankful for the time we spend together and for the invitation always being there.  I pray that life never gets so hectic that You are placed second.  You are always first in my life.  Thank You for the gift of companionship in my life, she is a treasure and a gift from You.  May you continue to bless us with friendship and a desire to please you.   Prayers for a friend struggling with forgiveness, may they come to be unburdened and find happiness in You.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Philippians 2:3 11-5-2018 dailythoughts.com

"Do nothing out of selfishness or out of vainglory; rather, humbly regard others as more important than yourselves," ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:3‬

Wouldn't our world be a better place if we all lived by this verse?  There is such a sharp contrast to what the world says and what God does.  Do you realize that God treats you as the most important, you can speak to Him at anytime, He surprises you with the unexpected, He gave His only Son so you could get to Heaven.  "Rather, whoever wishes to be great among you will be your servant;" ‭‭Mark‬ ‭10:43‬b.  Go and give yourself away today, be at peace today and become unimportant.

Dear Lord God, You are always there to listen, sometimes You speak, You are always there for us.  I thank You Father for caring for us and guiding us to become better servants.  Remove what ever vainglory may be within me, correct those faults that bring You sorrow.  Thank You for being by my side Father and being the example we are all asked to live.  Open the eyes of our hearts to see Your glory and what our purpose is here.  Bless this day, may I be attentive to the needs of others, You are taking care of my needs.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Queen of Peace, pray for us.

Mark 12:34 11-4-2018 dailythoughts.com

"And when Jesus saw that [he] answered with understanding, he said to him, "You are not far from the kingdom of God." And no one dared to ask him any more questions." Mark‬ ‭12:34‬

"Sh'ma Yisrael", Jesus begins his response to the question of the scribe with: "listen O'Israel", He is reaffirming His Fathers will for us and seeking to know our response.  In order to learn we must first listen and then respond with words or actions of our understanding.  You have heard the saying knowledge is power, applied knowledge is power.  Do we put into practice of what we are being taught?  "No one dared ask Him any more questions."  Why?  I believe because Jesus responds with truth and those asking didn't want to be put to shame with their lack of applied knowledge.  We can question God but we must be prepared in our daily lives to give Him our response to His answer.

Dear Heavenly Father, I enjoyed Your teaching today and the lesson that Your faithful servant gave.  May I apply what You are teaching, May I learn from You and not of my own understanding.  Watch over us this day, I pray for Your faithful servants and may I listen more intently so we may gain understanding.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Mary, Queen of Saints, pray for us.

Philippians 1:20 11-2-2018 dailythoughts.com

"My eager expectation and hope is that I shall not be put to shame in any way, but that with all boldness, now as always, Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death." Philippians‬ ‭1:20‬

This is a powerful statement Paul makes, it gives us insight who Paul is or who Saul has become.  He is not living for self, this could bring shame upon him, he is living for Christ in a very bold way.  His witness gives testimony to who Christ is and what He is doing in the life of Paul.  Saul was a very proud man, this pride was his undoing.  Paul on the other hand has the same traits but they are being tempered by his life for Christ.  How is our Lord using a former weakness as a strength to glorify His body?

Dear Father, the crisp clean air feels good this morning.  You created each of us in Your image with our own uniqueness, help me use that uniqueness to glorify You and not bring shame upon myself.  I thank You for showing us how to take a weakness and turn it into a strength for You, You made us perfect.  May I glorify You today in some way and may I be a blessing to those I encounter.  Thankful for a beautiful day ahead and friends to share it with.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Our Lady of Victory, Pray for us.

Not a song but fits the reflection.  I dare you to listen to it and then do it.

John 6:38-39 11-2-2018 dailythoughts.com

"because I came down from heaven not to do my own will but the will of the one who sent me. And this is the will of the one who sent me, that I should not lose anything of what he gave me, but that I should raise it [on] the last day." ‭‭John‬ ‭6:38-39‬

Praise be the name of Jesus, He and the Father are One.  The partnership that we develop with Christ brings us to the Father.  I by no means am perfect, each day offers challenges and opportunities to live out my partnership with Christ.  He will not lose me, I may hit a bump but He won't.  We all make mistakes but if He is greater in me then I am counting on Him to purify me on the way.  Jesus is risen and He is Risen in me, not that I can't lose but I can't lose as long as I continually turn to Him for guidance.  If I continue to give Him authority in my life.  God is Amazing, my heart can not express in words what I am feeling but there is a joy that goes beyond understanding.  Onward Christian Soldier, the Victory is ours but not without some hardships along the way.  Give thanks today for the blessings that God is revealing to you.  You will be raised up on the last day because Christ found you and He does not lose what He was given.

Dear Father God, I look into the world and see the divisions that are being preached each day and I see the unity that You give us.  Nothing matters but living for You, I thank You God for a sense of who You are and what You are doing in our lives.  Father, awaken the joy within our hearts of what eternity will be with You, no more pain, no more sorrow, no more suffering.  Refine each of us Father through the blood of Your Son Jesus so we are ready to stand in Your glory.  Thank You Triune God be my all, Triune God be my all, Triune God be my all!

Praise be the name of Jesus!

Mary, Our Lady of Hope, pray for us.

Psalms 24:3-4 11-1-2018 dailythoughts.com

"Who may go up the mountain of the LORD? Who can stand in his holy place? "The clean of hand and pure of heart, who has not given his soul to useless things, what is vain." Psalms‬ ‭24:3-4‬

You ever climb a mountain?  It isn't easy, in fact it will challenge you to the core.  The great thing about climbing it, you can see the top, you see the goal.  Our spiritual journeys are much the same, the goal is being at the top with God.  Many obstacles will come before us that will challenge you, will distract us.  In my moments of weariness, I sit and be still.  Much like catching your breath as you climb a mountain.  I ask myself are my desires mine or God's.  Are the desires from above?   These moments define who we are, develop perseverance and build character.  And then you are off again climbing God's mountain with a lighter load for 'I' is out of the way.

Dear Father God, I see You looking down encouraging our progress forward.  There are many who have gone before us who have climbed Your mountain.   I trust in the desires You place within my heart, I trust You to cleanse my hands and purify my heart.  I trust You Lord for Your view is much better than mine.  Bless this day Father, prayers for a friend being challenged everyday with obstacles, help him see his way forward.  Jesus, I trust in You, Amen.

Mary, Our Lady of Victory, pray for us.
