Daily Thoughts - Begging

Daily Thoughts - Begging

"The people walking in front rebuked him, telling him to be silent, but he kept calling out all the more, "Son of David, have pity on me!""  ‭‭Luke‬ ‭18‬:‭39‬

Are we not to remain like this beggar along the side of the road, always depending upon God.  "Son of David, have pity on me!"   The people with Jesus have forgotten their mission, they have arrived and yet are blind to the needs of another in search of healing.  God hears the cry of the poor.

What gave or better yet who gave the beggar the insight to call Jesus, Son of David?  The Triune God in action, God the Father, invoking the Holy Spirit and His Son being announced who He truly is - God.  The more we know the more we need humility in our lives and never forget it is God who gives us sight.

The beggar could not see but he could hear and had prayed to be able to see.  He seen a lot with eyes closed, in our prayer time there is a lesson the blind man gives us.  With eyes closed listening to the world with your thoughts, God speaks.  "Son of David, have pity on me!"

Dear Father God, I know I am loved by You.  I see the treasure You have placed within and it shines brightest in the silence of my heart.  Thank You for the gift of this day, may I never forget that I was once blind but now I see.  Bless this day and all it has to offer, may we hear You calling in the darkness.  In Jesus name, Amen.
