James 2:22
"You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did."
Working together, what a concept, what is God asking of you this day? Are you listening to the Father, are you willing to do what He asks.
As a Christian, faith is an action, even when we don't feel like doing it or feel we are going to be judged for it. Who do you follow? Trust that Jesus is making His ways complete thru your action.
God speaks to each of us and needs to make things happen. There is so much pain that needs to be corrected. Live your faith today, be the eyes and ears, feet and hands and voice of Jesus, be complete.

"but he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness." I will rather boast most gladly of my weaknesses, in order that the power of Christ may dwell with me."
Whose power do you depend upon? Is it your own power you rely on or is it the power of Jesus that you depend upon. I must decrease so He may increase.
Lord my prayer today is that I realize that all I need in life is your grace. You will take care of everything else.

"If I send them away hungry to their homes, they will collapse on the way, and some of them have come a great distance.""
God knows the roads we have taken to reach Him. He knows who is hungry and He knows what feeds the soul. And He knows when the proper time is to feed us.
Thank you Jesus for calling us to your table of plenty and providing what we need for the journey ahead. We always go to Jesus when we need nourishment. His food is everlasting!

"Who is like you among the gods, O LORD? Who is like you, magnificent among the holy ones? Awe-inspiring in deeds of renown, worker of wonders,"
Worker of wonders, it is truly inspiring to be able to see God at work. Just when you are about to loose hope God will begin to work miracles. He does it on His time.
There is purpose in His actions, there is a reason He acts or He doesn't. But when God starts to act just be prepared for it will be awe-inspiring.
Pray for your brothers going on Retreat this weekend. Ask that God inspire them for His glory.

"The disciples then did as Jesus had ordered, and prepared the Passover."
Are you doing what Jesus asks of you? Jesus really isn't asking, He is ordering His disciples to get ready. He is the only one who knows what the future holds. Jesus knows the real importance of what is about to happen.
The same with your life and the world that you live in. He needs His disciples to be doing what He asks of them. You must decide on whom you are to follow.

What joy there is when Jesus reveals Himself to us. It is unexpected yet we were seeking Him and He was seeking us. Do you recall receiving the unfading crown of glory?
The Masters love is unfading, it is always there. Turn to Him and seek His guidance in your life. God loves you so much! Trust in Him both the good and the bad, there is a lesson in all things. Your life is for His glory.

Where do your thoughts turn to thru out the day? Do you find yourself thinking about God? This is a form of prayer. Prayer isn't always with words, it is also with thoughts. It is with silence and it is with gestures such as a smile.
We can live our lives in constant prayer by simply thinking about God or His Son and His life, as we go about our day. We have the opportunity to learn from Him by reading the scriptures. This is another form of prayer, holding the Bible is being in the presence of God.
Let the joy of the Lord shine thru you today. Have a blessed Sunday and be at peace for God is speaking to you thru His word.

Life is a journey, God prepares you all through life for the coming of Jesus, if you have him in your heart. We are all human and God knows that. Trust in Jesus and rely upon him to guide you.
Will we trio up now and again, probably, but God is always there to pick us up. When we are near the finish line of life and we have done our best. We will be at peace, maybe at little apprehensive but ready for the coming of the Lord. God has a role in helping us get there if we are willing.

"Anyone who is so "progressive" as not to remain in the teaching of the Christ does not have God; whoever remains in the teaching has the Father and the Son."
Our world around us is working hard to redefine what sin is. If you love someone then adultery is ok. Yet in God's eyes it is still sin. Sin is still sin no matter what spin is put on it.
God still loves the sinner. He doesn't turn them away. Jesus asks us to turn away from sin and sin no more. Continue on the journey and stay within the teachings of Jesus, they never change but we change.
Be at peace today The Father has already taken care of it. Relax and enjoy the day.

Have you considered how you treat others especially those close to you. Are your words and actions cultivating peace? When something is said or done that hurts you do you let it bounce off as to cultivate peace or do you want to respond back with what was given.
We are human and want to respond back, next time cultivate peace, it's fruit is righteousness. Your world will slowly change around you. Don't give as the world gives, give as Jesus gives.
May you be blessed with peace in all your actions and responses. Think what would Jesus do.

For some reason " Do this in remembrance of me" is playing in my head. We are called to do something with the gifts our Father has given us. We can not just receive Jesus and then go back to being our old selves.
We are being transformed into His eyes, His hands, His feet, His ears and His voice. You are to carry the message of Jesus with you each day as you live life. If not you then who?
Jesus is the new covenant, He is our salvation and He is also guiding you to be a difference maker in the world around you.

Why would this verse be in the Bible if Jesus hadn't instituted the Eucharist?
We are all called to imitate Jesus, it isn't easy and we must be careful to not offend our Father in Heaven. Jesus wants what is best for us. Is there anything that you are holding back from God?
We can become so pious that we act like the Pharisee's thinking we are better than the next person. Remember it is in humility that we accept Jesus, it is He who gives us strength. Don't become so high and mighty that you turn people away.
God is working His purpose through you be at peace and let the master work. Enjoy your week!

"I call heaven and earth today to witness against you: I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. Choose life, then, that you and your descendants may live,"
Jesus is life, we live in strange times where those who do not know Jesus choose death. They choose what appears to be a way out when in fact it is a trap. Pray today brothers for the unborn. Pray that God intervenes in the life of the innocent.
We have a responsibility to speak up and help those that do not know Jesus to come to know Him. You will impact future generations with a simple gesture.
God loves you and only wants the best for you, be His love today.

God never forgets us, it may feel
That way at times but He is right there beside you. God maybe drawing you in closer and wants you to work at it.
If it were easy all the time we would take Him for granted. We would think we can control how God interacts with us. God is drawing you in closer, He is strengthening your spirit don't stop.
Give Him the glory today and continue on the journey.

What is a choice portion in God's way of thinking? In the way of the world it would be the best of the best, prime plus beef, an expensive wine. I don't believe this is what God is speaking about in this verse.
In the way of God it would be going to mass an extra day, seeking ways to grow spiritually, spending time in adoration just you and God. These I think are the good things we should not deprive ourselves of.
You never know what message God will give you and when. Seek Him and He will give you your choice portion.

Daily Thoughts 08-09-2015
John 6:45
"It is written in the prophets: 'They shall all be taught by God.' Everyone who listens to my Father and learns from him comes to me."
God allows us to have free will, He already knows the outcome of our plans. Much like a daddy who lets his child make a mistake so the child can learn. What happens when the child trips up, he comes running back to daddy for comfort.
In the same way we sometimes have to learn like this. Then God can point to Jesus, His perfect Son as an example of how to live our lives. With compassion, humility, determination, preservation and most important love.
Follow Jesus, the perfect Son and our daily bread.

Psalms 25:20
"Preserve my soul and rescue me; do not let me be disgraced, for in you I seek refuge."
You ever pay attention to those around you, complete strangers as you shop or go about your day. We are all seeking but not many are seeking Christ. Life is bombarding us with stuff all the time.
When we seek Christ, we allow Him to preserve our soul, to guide our thoughts and turn away from those things that will eventually disgrace us. Seek Jesus with all your heart, He seeks you with all His heart.
Enjoy another beautiful hot day in God's country.

Daily Thoughts 08-07-2015
Luke 15:18
"I shall get up and go to my father and I shall say to him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you."
Our goal in life is to get to heaven, we are granted entry into Heaven by the blood of Jesus. It is our sins that separates us from Jesus which separates us from heaven.
Thank God we can go to our Father and ask for forgiveness. As long as we are seeking God we have open communication. Don't buy into the world's way of living. There are real consequences to our sins.
Praise God, Jesus is the way to Heaven. Happy Friday.

"The words of a talebearer are like dainty morsels: they sink into one's inmost being."
Do you realize the impact your words have on your life? They guide your future, they direct your daily path, leading you. Words help you generate a living, create hope.
The opposite is true as well, they can create discourse and bad tempers. Guard what you say and pay attention to what you are speaking. Those tiny morsels are impacting your future be sure they are pleasing to God.
Jesus Christ is at work within you, be His voice today.

Daily Thoughts 08-05-2015
John 19:25
"Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary of Magdala."
Have you ever thought about the life of Mary, the Mother of Jesus? She said yes at the annunciation and that was all the direction she was given. She was going to raise Jesus, the Son of God. There was no instruction manual or road map.
Now she stands at the cross after witnessing the death of her Son, Jesus. Did she know Jesus would rise from the dead? I doubt it. Her journey through life was not easy in fact the hand maid of the Lord had a really tough life. God didn't make it easy.
The journey of life makes you who you are both the good and bad. Thank God for all! Enjoy the journey.

Hebrews 12:14
"Strive for peace with everyone, and for that holiness without which no one will see the Lord."
If we are not at peace with someone how is that person to see Christ in you? How are you to live a life of holiness without being at peace with everyone. What can you do to make amends?
Make ever effort to be at peace, they may not agree with you but there is no point in carrying anger, that only hurts you not them. Seek forgiveness and move on. Forgive and forget. Allow Jesus to work through you.
Be at peace today knowing the master is guiding you and is always in control if we let Him. Trust.

Genesis 12:1
"The LORD said to Abram: Go forth from your land, your relatives, and from your father's house to a land that I will show you."
When we encounter God the future we planned changes. God ask us to step out on faith and to allow Him to plan our future. We may not have our family or friends go with us. We have to relinquish control and trust that God has you covered.
When you are in new surroundings you can no longer depend upon yourself. You seek the one who sent you - God. Ask God what He expects of you and have faith He will lead you on the journey as He did Abraham.
Lord, help us remember to take it one day at a time, just as Jesus did.

Exodus 16:4
"Then the LORD said to Moses: I am going to rain down bread from heaven for you. Each day the people are to go out and gather their daily portion; thus will I test them, to see whether they follow my instructions or not."
Trust, God is in control this day and age as well. Do we follow His instructions each day? Do we trust God completely not worrying about tomorrow? We can caught up thinking it is us doing all the good. We begin to fill with self pride and believe we have some control.
God gives us our daily portion, we are to trust God and Him alone for the future. Remember it is a journey, the sooner you learn to trust God for everything the sooner you enter the promised land.
Jesus, help me trust in you today.

1 Corinthians 1:4-5
"I give thanks to my God always on your account for the grace of God bestowed on you in Christ Jesus, that in him you were enriched in every way, with all discourse and all knowledge,"
Can you imagine Paul writing this letter? Jesus has been risen over 50 years and Christianity has been growing ever since. There is joy in Paul's heart. He played a small part but God and His Son Jesus continued to build the Church.
We do the same today, we share our faith and let God and His Son Jesus enrich their people. It hasn't changed that much but we need to do our part. Share your faith with others so Jesus can give them knowledge.
May God's peace be with you today and the love of Jesus in your heart.
