Ben Sira 14:14
"Do not deprive yourself of good things now or let a choice portion escape you."
What is a choice portion in God's way of thinking? In the way of the world it would be the best of the best, prime plus beef, an expensive wine. I don't believe this is what God is speaking about in this verse.
In the way of God it would be going to mass an extra day, seeking ways to grow spiritually, spending time in adoration just you and God. These I think are the good things we should not deprive ourselves of.
You never know what message God will give you and when. Seek Him and He will give you your choice portion.
Be at peace today, God is in control. For His glory do we live.
