Daily Thoughts 10-3-2016 Luke 10:36-37

"Which of these three, in your opinion, was neighbor to the robbers' victim?" He answered, "The one who treated him with mercy." Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise.""
‭‭
Is the word of God real to you?  Do you put it into practice in your own life?  We can think that these stories do not apply in this day and age but they apply in all times.  This week you will have the opportunity to be the Good Samaritan, what will you do.  Will you show mercy or just keep going?

It may be a total stranger or it may be someone who is close to you that you do not see eye to eye with.  We are all called to live out the gospels in our own daily lives.  Just remember one of these days it maybe you who is the one in need and everyone just passes by.  Do as Jesus tells us, "Go and do likewise.", make the gospels real In your own life.

Dear Heavenly Father, we are all called to live out our lives by sharing Your Love.  Give each of us what we need so we can be the Good Samaritan to others, especially to those that are the closest to us.  May we always remember to love as You did, even when it hurts or doesn't make sense.  May we bring peace into our world one person at a time.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Peace Prayer of St Francis

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:

where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.

O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen.
