"But now you will be speechless and unable to talk until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled at their proper time."" Luke 1:20
Zechariah was a devout man, a religious man, yet he still had doubt. The angel Gabriel was in front of him and telling him, his prayer had been heard and answered. Why his doubt? Maybe he had been waiting for such a long time, he didn't think it possible anymore. God, in His word, tells us to trust and believe in His word. Maybe the angel Gabriel isn't standing in front of you but He is sending you the same message.
Dear Lord, I come before you this morning knowing You hear my prayers. Help me with my doubt and unbelief. May I learn to wait for Your proper time and not get in the way. I thank You for the small signs you send us so we may believe. Prepare our hearts for Your coming this Advent Season Lord so our voices may proclaim the good news at the proper time. I ask this in Your most holy name, Amen.
Mary, Mother of God, pray for us.
