John 3:7-8 4-30-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Do not be amazed that I told you, 'You must be born from above.' The wind blows where it wills, and you can hear the sound it makes, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes; so it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit."" ‭‭John‬ ‭3:7-8‬

Do you see Nicodemus being drawn to Jesus like a moth to the light?  The truth of Christ speaks to each of us differently and we are drawn to the truth.  What is it that makes one come alive and another still sit still? Timing, different events in our lives prepare us to be born of the Spirit.  Enjoy the journey even the stumbles for God allows these to happen in your life so you are ready to say yes to Him and then put your faith into action.  I love the story of Nicodemus, he is each of our stories.

Dear Father, I thank You for drawing me to the truth, for revealing who You are and for giving me Your Holy Spirit.   I thank You for the journey and for Your guidance this day.  I trust in You, even in my weaknesses, I trust in You.   Allow Your Holy Spirit to move us into action.   I ask this through Your Son, Jesus Christ, Amen.

John 3:6 4-29-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"What is born of flesh is flesh and what is born of spirit is spirit." John‬ ‭3:6‬

Trusting in God in all things is from above.  Our faith journey will lead us to many places and teach us many things.  Even in those moments that life is unsure if you are focused above then all is good.  When we rely on ourselves and not above we get into trouble.  The mystery is learning to communicate with God and trust in the path God has you on.  The great adventure awaits those that let go and let God.  "As they prayed, the place where they were gathered shook, and they were all filled with the holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness."  Acts‬ ‭4:31

Dear Father, I trust in You for this part of our journey.  I pray for parents who are challenged to have time for prayer in their lives may they recognize their vocation of parenthood as their prayer life.  Amen.

Mary, Mystical Rose, pray for us.

John 21:13-14 4-26-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Jesus came over and took the bread and gave it to them, and in like manner the fish. This was now the third time Jesus was revealed to his disciples after being raised from the dead." John‬ ‭21:13-14‬

If you close your eyes you can almost smell the bread Jesus prepared for them.  You can feel the desire in Peters heart(would need to read John 21:1-14). Peter had the desire to be united with Christ, God created this desire.  Absence makes the heart grow fonder and God is preparing Peter for a lifetime of being united.  When God wants to get His point across He reinforces it several times.  We have the same opportunity as Peter to be united with Christ, to be in His presence.  The fire is the Holy Spirit burning within, will you jump in or play it safe on the boat?  Jesus and bread again, I love the subtle ways God gets us to think about our faith and the importance of His images.

Dear Father, You are offering us Yourself in gentle ways, preparing us for what is to come, helping us focus only on today and giving us Your presence in the Holy Eucharist.  I thank You for being what satisfies my heart.  I thank You for drawing me out of the boat to come to You.  I thank You for this day.  You take the wheel and may I praise You today in word and deed.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Luke 24:35-36 4-25-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Then the two recounted what had taken place on the way and how he was made known to them in the breaking of the bread.  While they were still speaking about this, he stood in their midst and said to them, "Peace be with you." ‭‭Luke‬ ‭24:35-36‬

Jesus vanished when they recognized Him in the breaking of the bread.  Now He appears when they recount what had taken place.  Why would Jesus do this?  Must be important and have significant meaning.  It is called a faith journey for a reason, we must be willing to see with the eyes of our heart.  Our humanness wants to tell us otherwise, how can Jesus really be flesh and blood in the Eucharist.  Yet, He makes His presence known in the breaking of the bread.  "And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the holy Spirit."
‭‭John‬ ‭20:22‬  Open the eyes of your heart and believe, He is Risen and is always with us.

Dear Lord, I sense You looking down this morning with a message for someone who is in need of an answer.  May they see with the eyes of their heart and come alive.  Thank You Father for breathing upon me, allowing me to see and revealing Yourself to me in the breaking of the bread and in Your word.  Live in us today to do Your will.  Prayers for a friend grieving the loss of a loved one, may they find peace in You and renewed purpose in life.  I ask this through Your Holy Name, Jesus.  Amen.

Acts 3:4-5 4-24-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"But Peter looked intently at him, as did John, and said, "Look at us." He paid attention to them, expecting to receive something from them." Acts‬ ‭3:4-5‬

How many times had Peter and John walk past this crippled beggar and pay him no mind.  Today they stop and give him their undivided attention.  The beggar took notice and knew this was different, he had expectancy in his spirit.  How many beggars do we each walk past in our lives and pay them no mind.  Do we give of ourselves or do we just see the same person that has been in the same area for a long time.   Peter and John, had received Jesus, now they could see.  Jesus never walked past someone in need.  The beggar had the desire to change, he wanted what Peter and John had and he received Jesus.  From sinner to saint, we are each on that journey, if we can see. Do we have expectancy?

Dear Lord, help me see, Amen.

Mary, Virgin Most Prudent, pray for us.

John 20:15 4-23-2019 www.Dailythoughts.com

"Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?" She thought it was the gardener and said to him, "Sir, if you carried him away, tell me where you laid him, and I will take him."" ‭‭John‬ ‭20:15‬

God speaks into our lives and yet some of us don't hear Him, nor do we see, we are too busy with our own plans that we fail to recognize God in our lives.  Do we slow down and listen to the message that He is trying to give us.  To sit and contemplate what God is saying, He may have to say it multiple times in multiple ways through various people but if you are listening, You will recognize His voice.  He speaks to each of us but we must be willing to listen and obey.  "Jesus turned to them and said, "Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep instead for yourselves and for your children," ‭‭Luke‬ ‭23:28‬

Dear Heavenly Father, I am thankful for You being a loving and caring Father to never stop reaching out to us with Love.  I pray that Your voice is heard and acted upon, especially in this day and age.  I pray for those who are struggling to hear You or who are blinded to the truth, may You speak louder in our lives than that of the world.  Help us see past our own troubled lives to see the Risen Lord acting on our behalf.   I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Queen of Angels, pray for us.

Acts 2:25-28 4-22-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"For David says of him: 'I saw the Lord ever before me, with him at my right hand I shall not be disturbed. Therefore my heart has been glad and my tongue has exulted; my flesh, too, will dwell in hope, because you will not abandon my soul to the netherworld, nor will you suffer your holy one to see corruption. You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.'" Acts‬ ‭2:25-28‬

Easter Monday - He is Risen: These are the Words Peter said after receiving the Holy Spirit. You can see the transformation within him, he no longer hides in the darkness but stands up and proclaims the gospel. There is something to be said about being under the tutelage of the Holy Spirit. Being in His presence day in and day out, fills you with joy and transforms the person. What disturbs you no longer disturbs you, each day there is small transformations that you do not perceive but they are happening. Jesus is alive and He is real, He is Risen!

Dear Father God, I pray for a world lost this morning in darkness, that is still trying to deny Your existence. I pray for all that are under Your tutelage that they stand up and speak against the darkness, bringing the joy of Christ into the world. I pray for bold, effective Christians to accept their responsibilities and proclaim the Gospel. We are only in this world a short time may our time be effective through Christ Jesus, Amen.

1 Corinthians 5:7b-8a 4-21-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"For our paschal lamb, Christ, has been sacrificed. Therefore, let us celebrate the feast." 1 Corinthians‬ ‭5:7b-8b

Easter Sunday - Alleluia, He has Risen: Easter is a decision, not just a feeling.  The Risen Lord is with us all year yet we decide to let Him shine in our lives, not just on Easter. After the celebration is over will we do what Christ ask of each of us.  "I have given you a model to follow, so that as I have done for you, you should also do."
‭‭John‬ ‭13:15‬.  "Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, [love] is not pompous, it is not inflated, it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭13:4-7‬.  As we enjoy the Easter season and Easter weather let's remember to continue doing what the Risen Lord done for each of us.  It is a decision we make each day to lay down our lives, put aside our fears and give of ourselves as Christ did for us.  In doing so the celebration never ends.

Dear Risen Lord, it is a joy to be in Your company amongst our loved ones, to listen to each other and share in the Body of Christ.  Thank You for this weather, the peace that we experience in enjoying each other's company.  In knowing who we belong too and for giving us the power of the Holy Spirit to share in Your Pascal feast all the days of our lives.  Prayers for all those traveling home today, may they contemplate the special moments with family and friends.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Mother of the Risen Lord, pray for us.

Happy Easter from my family to yours!  Live the feast and begin each day in His Holy Word.   Alleluia, He is Alive!!

Isaiah 54:11-14 4-20-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"O afflicted one, storm-battered and unconsoled, I lay your pavements in carnelians, your foundations in sapphires; I will make your battlements of rubies, your gates of jewels, and all your walls of precious stones. All your children shall be taught by the LORD; great shall be the peace of your children. In justice shall you be established, far from oppression, you shall not fear, from destruction, it cannot come near." Isaiah‬ ‭54:11-14‬

Our Lenten journey - Black Saturday:  We can wander far from God in our lives, in the Easter Vigil He reminds us that He calls out and is waiting with open arms.  Life has ways of knocking us down and for us to put up walls to protect ourselves.  God seeks for us to renew our love with Him this Easter season, to accept Our faults and trials, to recognize that all these things He has allowed to make us who we are.  Yet without God it will only be another black Saturday without Him in our lives.  Are you ready to accept the Risen Lord and be established, far from oppression, to not fear, to be far from destruction, it cannot come near.  Accept the free gift and receive Him into your heart.

Dear God, Your Word goes far and wide, it accomplishes what you intended it for.  I thank You for all that happens in my life, I thank You for the Joy and the pain.  I thank You for the unexpected moments to witness to Your glory.   Prayers for mothers that are grieving loss in different ways, help them see that they are living in peace.  I ask all of this in the name of Jesus, the One who died and rose from the dead for each of us.  Amen.

John 19:25-27 4-19-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary of Magdala. When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, "Woman, behold, your son." Then he said to the disciple, "Behold, your mother." And from that hour the disciple took her into his home." John‬ ‭19:25-27‬

Our Lenten journey - Good Friday: I find myself contemplating the cross that Mary was asked to carry and she willingly said yes.  She experienced the fullness of joy in giving birth to our Lord and she experienced the fullness of suffering in witnessing Him being tortured and crucified.  "(and you yourself a sword will pierce) so that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed." ‭‭Luke‬ ‭2:35‬. Women are the unsung hero's within this world following in the foot steps of Mary.  They may not get the recognition they deserve but they quietly carry their faith in a lot of households.  Be sure to recognize their strength along with Jesus  this Easter.

Dear Father, I thank You for this spiritual journey that we are all on, may we recognize the strength that Mary had and is available to us when we ask for it.  Thank You Father for dying for my sins so I may live forever, help me not miss an opportunity to speak to the truth You have instilled within me.  Awaken others Lord to become Your disciples and continue to build Your Kingdom here on earth with Holy and devout people.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Revelations 1:4b-8 4-18-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits before his throne, and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead and ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, who has made us into a kingdom, priests for his God and Father, to him be glory and power forever [and ever]. Amen. Behold, he is coming amid the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him. All the peoples of the earth will lament him. Yes. Amen. "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "the one who is and who was and who is to come, the almighty." Revelation‬ ‭1:4-8‬

Our Lenten journey - Holy Thursday:  God is not dead, He is alive!  Maybe seems like a strange way to begin the Pascal Triduum.  To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, who has made us into a kingdom, priests for his God and Father, to him be glory and power forever [and ever]. Amen.  He is not dead if we are living in Him and He in us.  He is dead if we are doing nothing with it.  We are all living in the Kingdom of God, He died so we may live and live to glorify Him.  He gave us a world to enjoy but also to use it to bring Him glory and not ourselves.  If we are after our own pursuits and not His then think about why are you here?   This vehicle I am in will pass away but not my spirit, John recognized that and only sought to glorify God.  Live your life to glorify God and bring others with you.

Dear Father, it has been an interesting lent this year, a lot of introspection going on.  I am thankful for walking with You and for You to show me my faults and my gifts.  I am thankful that You are not dead in me and are very much alive.  Help us see ourselves in the Pascal Triduum and help us grow deeper in love with You.  May we each bring Your Kingdom into Your world in our own and unique ways.  To God be the glory for ever and ever, Amen.

Mary, Mother of the Christ Child, pray for us.  Thank You 🙏

Matthew 26:25 4-17-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Then Judas, his betrayer, said in reply, "Surely it is not I, Rabbi?" He answered, "You have said so." ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭26:25‬

Our Lenten journey - Holy Wednesday:  Free will, we each have the choice, we are not predestined though God does know the outcome.  Judas not only lied to Jesus but also lied to himself.   Earlier, Judas had made arrangements to betray Jesus, he had justified his actions.  He had lied to God that much that he was able to look Jesus in the eye and deny his wrong doings, he had premeditated his actions.  I see a world that does basically the same thing, able to justify their actions, lie to themselves and to God.  Holy Week reminds us that we all play apart in the crucifixion of Jesus and the resurrection of the body of Christ.  Are you Peter, repentant for your sins or Judas, living the lie of your own truth?

Dear Father, I am sorry for those times that I have denied You and lied to myself.  I want to be more and more like Peter and not like Judas.  I pray for all those caught in the lies of the world.  I pray for a world that needs repentance and a world that seeks only to glorify You.  We can rebuild Notre-Dame Cathedral but can we rebuild the Church that needs it?  May I be super-sensitive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit and may You be greater in me than that of the way of the world.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Queen of Saints, pray for us.

John 13:38 4-16-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Jesus answered, "Will you lay down your life for me? Amen, amen, I say to you, the cock will not crow before you deny me three times." John‬ ‭13:38‬

Our Lenten Journey - Holy Tuesday: Is there a difference between Judas & Peter?  They both denied Jesus for their selfish desires, one for money, the other for fear.  In what ways am I denying Jesus in my everyday life?  We each do it in various ways, in how we respond to others, in how we interact with those we don't agree with.  In trying to make ourselves appear to be better than we are.  The question Jesus asks is for each of us, will we lay down our life for Him and only show love?  The difference between Peter and Judas  is Peter sought out the forgiveness of Jesus.  He recognized the wrong that he had done and wanted to make it right.  We too have the same opportunities to the right the wrongs we have done.

Dear Lord, we all make mistakes and are given the same opportunities as Peter and Judas.  Help us turn to You and seek Your forgiveness in ways that we have denied You.  Open our hearts and minds to not be selfish but willing to give of ourselves, to not pass judgement on others and to accept where we are on the journey, realizing we have so much more to learn and to trust in You for our salvation.  I pray for those being persecuted for their faith, I pray for the Church which is under attack.  May our prayers reach heaven and may we see Your Glorious Resurrection in the lives of those we love.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Psalms 27:3 4-15-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Though an army encamp against me, my heart does not fear; Though war be waged against me, even then do I trust." ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭27:3‬

Our Lenten journey - Holy Monday: It is Jesus's last week before His crucifixion, He could see those opposed to Him growing yet that did not deter Him from His mission.  Sin comes at all of us in many different forms, it's goal is to stop us from our resurrection but like Christ we do not fear, we repent and trust in the saving power of God.  Do not fear see it as it is and continue on.

Dear Father, I thank You for the power of prayer and the beauty that we are surrounded by.  May we recognize the trappings that the world puts in front of us and like Your Son, may it not deter us from our mission on earth.  If we have stumbled, may we trust in Your Word, may we not fear and may we receive Your grace thru confession.   Bless this day Lord and help us proclaim the coming of Your Son, Jesus.  Amen.

Luke 22:31-32

""Simon, Simon, behold Satan has demanded to sift all of you like wheat, but I have prayed that your own faith may not fail; and once you have turned back, you must strengthen your brothers." Luke‬ ‭22:31-32‬

Our Lenten journey - Palm Sunday: We will all be sifted, and we each will make choices in life who we will serve.  Jesus knew what was coming for Peter, his human desires would take over though Peter did not want that.  I watch people and see them going about without a care in the world allowing their human desires to take over.  Even in my own self I see this.  It is God in the inside that reminds us to turn to Him, His Son died on the cross, was condemned for our sins and rose from the died so we could live for ever.

We all are the characters in these Bible verses in today's readings.  We strive to be Peter but fall short due to our humanity.  It is a blessing to know that Jesus knew this and even in Simon's sifting it was ultimately for the glory of God.

Dear Lord, You know my thoughts and You know my desires.  I hear Your prayer to strengthen my faith, even in the journeys that I am on.  Lord, may I continue to grow stronger and recognize my own human weaknesses so I can rely upon Your strength.  Prayers for all those who are not aware of You, who do not fear You, You know what is coming, may we all be strengthened by Your prayer so others will come to know You.  Amen.

John 11:45-46 4-13-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Now many of the Jews who had come to Mary and seen what he had done began to believe in him. But some of them went to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done." John‬ ‭11:45-46‬

Day 40 of our Lenten journey:  Are you willing to receive?  To sit in the presence of God each day we must be willing to receive for He has a plan for each of us.  But just like the Jews  in the Bible verses some received Him and believed and some  didn't.  Nothing happens in our lives without the will of God unless we do not receive what He wants to give.  It is all for the glory of God so as a friend of mine said, "you deserve it" so receive.  Now there will be times we will receive medicine and that can be bitter.  Once again, it doesn't happen unless God allows and it is all for the glory of God.

Dear Father, we enter into Your passion, I thank You for this journey we are on.  I thank You for Your timing, for always listening and for allowing me to hear You speak.  Prayers for a bake sale today and for someone in need of a kidney.  You are Almighty and there is nothing You can not do, may we see You in all the joys and trials of our lives.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

John 10:32 4-12-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

Jesus answered them, "I have shown you many good works from my Father. For which of these are you trying to stone me?" John‬ ‭10:32

Day 39 of our Lenten journey: I find myself contemplating upon the passion of Christ this morning.  How would anyone know Jesus was God other than by His good works.  He even testifies to that to those trying to stone Him.  What about our good works?  Do they testify to our commitment to Christ, our Triune God.  It isn't our good works that will get us to heaven but they will proclaim whom we belong too.  As Holy Week approaches, ponder your own journey in Christ, does it speak of who died for your sins?  "Jesus answered them, "I told you and you do not believe. The works I do in my Father's name testify to me."  John 10:25

Dear Lord God, I ponder my own life and wonder what it is You are calling me to do?  What good works yet lay ahead that only I can speak of, not in words but in actions.  I love it when You call Your children to You, In very simple ways thru the actions of others just living the life they are called too.  Prayers for a friend making His journey home, his life is full of good works and he has been saved by Your grace which now speaks of who His Father is.  Thank You Jesus for the beautiful music you are making and thank You for this morning.  In Jesus name, Amen.

John 8:55 4-11-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"You do not know him, but I know him. And if I should say that I do not know him, I would be like you a liar. But I do know him and I keep his word." ‭‭John‬ ‭8:55‬

Day 38 of our Lenten journey: Jesus is speaking to the Jews who claim to know God and have bought the lies of the devil.  How many times do we become entrapped by the father of lies and do his bidding for him, believing we are acting in truth?  "So if a son frees you, then you will truly be free. I know that you are descendants of Abraham. But you are trying to kill me, because my word has no room among you." ‭‭John‬ ‭8:36-37‬.  Our journey in life requires us to know His Word, live His Word and keep His Word.  What lies are we accepting as truth compromising the Word of God?

O Divine Father, I am sorry for my misdeeds as I allow my sinful ways to get the better of me.  Thank You for allowing me to contemplate my own actions and see how I have become deceived by the father of lies thinking that I know better.  Thank You Jesus for coming and setting us free, may we rely upon Your strength, may we sit and listen to You speak truth into our days and may we continue in this journey so we may glorify You in all that we do.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Daniel 3:91-92, 95 4-10-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Then King Nebuchadnezzar was startled and rose in haste, asking his counselors, "Did we not cast three men bound into the fire?" "Certainly, O king," they answered. "But," he replied, "I see four men unbound and unhurt, walking in the fire, and the fourth looks like a son of God."

Nebuchadnezzar exclaimed, "Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who sent his angel to deliver the servants that trusted in him; they disobeyed the royal command and yielded their bodies rather than serve or worship any god except their own God." Daniel‬ ‭3:91-92, 95‬

Day 35 of our Lenten journey: The day has begun, each day we begin, do we seek the Lord God Almighty before we begin.  The fire is all around, it can affect us if we are not trusting in our God.  The king of this world stokes the fire in our own life's, do we yield our bodies to him or do we yield our bodies to the King of Glory.  Being tested in the fire will help us realize what is truly important in life.  This period is only temporary and our real purpose lies ahead living in paradise.  Begin with God and walk in the calm cool breezes of His strength.

Dear Father, Blessed be Your Holy Name, Thank You for walking beside me this day as the fire tries to get to our spirit.  I am so thankful that You awakened my soul to a Your Almighty Power.  Thank You Father for sending Your Son to show us the way.  May we praise You in the challenges of our everyday lives, You are the God who saves us and allows us to be tested.  Blessed be God.  Amen.

John 8:28 4-9-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"So Jesus said [to them], "When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will realize that I AM, and that I do nothing on my own, but I say only what the Father taught me."
‭‭John‬ ‭8:28‬

Day 34 of our Lenten journey: Jesus spoke plainly to those around Him but all they seen was His humanity.  They could not see His divinity until He was on the cross and had died for our sins.  What do you see when you look upon the cross?  This morning I see Christ's humanity, His efforts to get people to understand only for them to not see.  I am sure there are things He is saying that I am not getting but that doesn't prevent Christ from continuing until I do.  Do you look to the cross and contemplate Christ journey with you?

Dear Jesus, I do not always understand my own journey but You always know what is needed to build our relationship.  I pray for those who are closed to the truth, who do not see that You are the Son of God.  I pray for my own humanity and my blindness to our journey.  Help me be the person that You desire me to be.  I pray for a friend who recently had his hip replaced, I also pray for a friend with some heart issues, may they feel the healing power of God upon them.   I thank You for the desire to know You more and more each day.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Daniel 14:9,35 4-8-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"They perverted their thinking; they would not allow their eyes to look to heaven, and did not keep in mind just judgments.

As she wept she looked up to heaven, for she trusted in the Lord wholeheartedly." ‭‭Daniel‬ ‭13:9, 35‬

Day 34 of our Lenten journey: Don't we all make those decisions, the choice to look to Heaven for help or not.  When we know what we are about to do is wrong, the choice is to look or not look.  When we are in need we always look to Heaven.  "Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."" John‬ ‭8:12‬.  The choice is ours to walk in the light of Christ by following Jesus or to walk in darkness.  When we wholeheartedly trust in Christ, even in our moments of weakness we look to Heaven for help and God will come to our rescue.  It is when we deny Him that we get ourselves into trouble.  The choice is always ours.

Dear Father, I look to Heaven and You give me strength.  I seek You and You are there.  You are my great protector guarding my soul and preparing it for eternity.  Thank You for walking with me and for the guidance of right judgement passed on by my parents.  Thank you for prayers being answered in small and simple ways, it is a joy to see You at work in our lives.  Bless this day and may we be at peace.  Great are you God and wonderful are Your ways!! In Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Queen of the Holy Rosary, pray for us.

Philippians 3:12-14 4-7-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"It is not that I have already taken hold of it or have already attained perfect maturity, but I continue my pursuit in hope that I may possess it, since I have indeed been taken possession of by Christ [Jesus]. Brothers, I for my part do not consider myself to have taken possession. Just one thing: forgetting what lies behind but straining forward to what lies ahead, I continue my pursuit toward the goal, the prize of God's upward calling, in Christ Jesus." Philippians‬ ‭3:12-14‬

Day 31 of our Lenten journey:  "I have indeed been taken possession of by Christ Jesus", I reflect back upon the events of the past 24 hours, I, while still striving towards the goal fell short but also realizing that in my moments of human weakness, Christ engaged me to not get angry, to not lash out, to stay calm amidst the everyday circumstances and unforeseen situations.  I have not taken possession but always strive for that.  Thank God this morning for His love pouring out of His soul that resides in you.

Our Father, which art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespassed against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, Amen.

John 7:50-51 4-6-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Nicodemus, one of their members who had come to him earlier, said to them, "Does our law condemn a person before it first hears him and finds out what he is doing?"" John‬ ‭7:50-51‬

Day 31 of our Lenten journey:  Do you know God or, do you know about God.  I love Nicodemus because he went to Jesus, he wanted to know who Jesus was.  Nicodemus had heard all the stories just like everyone else, maybe even just like you.   He had to find out for himself, he went to Jesus.  That is God's message this morning, to know Him personally.  Until we know God we are just going thru the motions.  And knowing God is a lifetime journey but it requires our presence and perseverance each and EVERY day of our lives.  Allow your heart to be infused with the power of God.  It is absolutely amazing.

Dear Father, my heart burns for You this morning and for Your will that everyone know You as Nicodemus does.  Thank You Father for the guidance of the Holy Spirit.  I pray for those that know about You but have yet to know You.  If it be Your will, may I be of assistance.  Prayers for all reading this today, may the fire of Your Love touch them and may You be real in their lives. Watch over us as we journey thru life, and like Nicodemus may our own curiosity lead us into union with the Triune God.  Triune God, Be our all.  Triune God, Be our all.  Triune God, be our all.  Amen.

Mary, Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us.

John 7:28 4-5-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"So Jesus cried out in the temple area as he was teaching and said, "You know me and also know where I am from. Yet I did not come on my own, but the one who sent me, whom you do not know, is true." ‭‭John‬ ‭7:28‬

Day 30 of our Lenten journey: Are you willing to stand in the face of injustice.  Jesus went to the feast of the tabernacles in secret knowing they were trying to kill Him.  His time had come to face His accuser and He could only speak truth.  When we see or feel injustice will you speak truth or remain quiet.  We are each called each day to speak truth, to acknowledge God in our lives.  The strength comes from Him and when called upon, He will give you the words.  You know Him!

Dear Heavenly Father, the last couple of days have been fun, thank You for all of this.  Where ever we are sent today, may what we speak be true, bring You honor and glory and may we be ready to stand up to the lies of the world.  Give us Hope, faith and charity in our spirit today.  Thank You for answering our prayers, may we be strong enough to receive when You do and not retreat from Your calling.  I ask this in the name of Jesus.

Mary, Queen of Saints, pray for us.

John 5:44 3-4-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"How can you believe, when you accept praise from one another and do not seek the praise that comes from the only God?" John‬ ‭5:44‬

Day 29 of our Lenten journey: What motivates you, is it praise from one another or a lofty position?  We are called to be like a little child.  "Daddy, look at me" or "Daddy watch this".  A child seeks the adoring eye of their father.  Is our motivation of self or of God.  When we focus on God each day, do what He places in front of us, life has no worries for you are doing what pleases Him.  A child's heart takes great pleasure in pleasing their Father.  As His word says: "Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven." Matthew‬ ‭5:12‬a.  A father always gives what His child needs.  Live in the moment of now.

Dear Father, give me the heart of a child that seeks to please his Father.  Give me the security of knowing that I am loved by You and no harm will come that we can't deal with.  Allow me to see what it is You ask of me and may I only seek Your praises.  Watch over us this day and like that little child, watch what we do for Your glory and honor.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Mother of God, pray for us.

John 5:25 4-3-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Amen, amen, I say to you, the hour is coming and is now here when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live." ‭‭John‬ ‭5:25‬

Day 28 of our Lenten journey: I was with someone last week that heard God's voice in their life.  She said, God had been speaking to her for a long time and she just recently recognized that it was God speaking.  He never leaves us and always speaks.  When we are dead to God, we can't hear Him but when we are alive in Christ, we recognize His voice.  He calls us into action, to listen intently and respond with love as He has done.  The challenge is among all the noise in our lives can we hear God speaking.  A trained ear can, this takes practice and faith.  Remember, faith is an action word, put your faith into action and come alive in Christ.  Quiet, dedicated prayer time is a great place to remove the noise.

Dear Father, my senses fail me but I perceive You are there.  Watch over us as we walk steadily in Your direction trusting in that small still quiet voice that points us to truth.  Thank You Father for the blessings in my life, the blessing of peace, the blessing of calm, the blessing of vision, especially in a world that can blind us to the truth.  May we be super sensitive to Your voice, may we hear and respond to life and live.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Ezekiel 47:12 4-2-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Along each bank of the river every kind of fruit tree will grow; their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail. Every month they will bear fresh fruit because the waters of the river flow out from the sanctuary. Their fruit is used for food, and their leaves for healing." Ezekiel‬ ‭47:12‬

Day 27 of our Lenten journey:  The living waters of Christ that flow from Him gives us peace, gives us strength, nourishes us for the day ahead.  In today's first reading, Ezekiel 47:1-9,12,  how many are beginning the day by turning to God to be nourished.  Our Father is the source of all good and we, His faithful followers, must plug in to the source.  The water that begins as a trickle is Jesus feeding us into an ocean of people that has an impact on this world.  Plug in to the goodness, spend time alone with God and be made new again.  Your fruit is used for food, and your leaves for healing, in a world parched for truth, but only thru Jesus.

Dear Father, You are changing the world, one person at a time.  I prayer for unity in prayer today, may we see where there is need in our world and may we answer the call.  May our actions speak of the truth of Jesus Christ, may we be nourished by giving You time in our lives and allowing You to flow from within.  Thank You Father for another glorious day and a blessed way to begin it.  I pray for all those walking into an abortion clinic today, may they see the joy of life, turn around and make the choice for life. Amen.

Mary, Mother of Hope, pray for us.

Psalms 30:4 4-1-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"LORD, you brought my soul up from Sheol; you let me live, from going down to the pit." ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭30:4‬

Day 26 of our Lenten journey: "My people are ruined for lack of knowledge!" ‭‭Hosea‬ ‭4:6‬a.  When God enters the picture everything changes, I recall a day in my life when he tapped me on the shoulder.  I was prevented from going down to the pit.  Knowledge entered in, our relationship became real.  With that relationship comes responsibility and you as well are being asked to step up.  How many today are going about blindly, not knowing the Risen Lord and all we have to do is be who He made us to be.  Give thanks for the path God has you on, you will not lack knowledge.

Dear Father, I pray for all those going into the vineyard lost in their own ways.  I pray for their children being taught to blindly follow.  Lord, awaken us with truth, bring truth into our day that spurs us into action.  Father, I pray for the unborn, whom you have given life to, may they all see the light of day.  Lord, use me today where I am needed so together we can bring the love of Christ to the lost and the needy.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Mary, Mother of the Innocent, pray for us.

I encourage you to go see the movie unplanned.  God is at work.  "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." Edmund Burk
