WEEK ELEVEN: THE SERMON ON THE MOUNT Day 6

WEEK ELEVEN: THE SERMON ON THE MOUNT Day 6

MORNING FACE TO FACE WITH GOD:
Begin with Prayer to the Holy Spirit

REPETITION OF DAYS FOUR AND FIVE:
Ask for an intimate knowledge of our Lord, who has become man for me, that I may love Him more and follow Him more closely (#104)

Today, you are doing a repetition of Days Four and Five of this week. In a repetition St. Ignatius says that "we should pay attention to and dwell upon those points in which we have experienced greater consolation or desolation or greater spiritual appreciation." (# 62) If you wish, you can do a triple colloquy: refer to #63 of the Third Exercise of the First Week.

I did a triple colloquy this morning as I watched and listened to the blessings of God.  The things we take for granted that are so freely given and can be so easily taken away.  We believe we have control of "our" world when in fact it is God's infinite goodness that blesses us day in and day out.  Even the cold is a blessing as it offers us change of season and a transformed world overnight.  Take the time to sit with Mary, with Jesus and with God and just listen.

What did I hear?  Accept His blessings (Mary)  Do not measure yourself (Jesus)  His infinite Goodness (God)

What is God saying to me?

Dear Father, I thank You for the joys of this day and the blessings that are upon us.  May I not take for granted Your infinite goodness, for Your loving kindness and for Your forgiveness.  May I not measure myself against this but accept my fate within Your hands.  It is You that transforms our world and it is also You that allows us to make this choice.  I trust in You in all things and I pray that I am obedient to Your will.  Use me this day as an instrument in Your hands.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Queen of Peace, Pray for us.
St Joesph, Faithful Guardian of Christ, Pray for us.
Viva Cristo Rey.

Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.  1 John 4:4b
