When you first hear one of the parables, it doesn't make sense, you struggle to understand it. God gave each of us a brain, the parable is meant to challenge us to think, to seek out the meaning, to find the hidden treasure. "When you look for me, you will find me. Yes, when you seek me with all your heart," Jeremiah 29:13. Spending time contemplating is spending time with God. "The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you." Philippians 4:9. Where there is peace, there is God.
Dear Lord God, it is just You and I in the stillness of the morning. My heart yearns for you and a deeper meaning in Your word. I may not always get it right but you are always there. Challenge our thinking Lord so we may find peace in all that we do. Nourish us spiritual so we may remain in peace and not become distracted by the ways of the world. Bless this day with understanding and peace. I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
