Hebrews 10:24-25 1-31-2019 dailythoughts.com

"We must consider how to rouse one another to love and good works. We should not stay away from our assembly, as is the custom of some, but encourage one another, and this all the more as you see the day drawing near." ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:24-25‬

Didn't Jesus do this with every one He came in contact with, He listened to them, seen the pain in their lives, healed them and they left better, full of joy.  He roused them to love one another, He encouraged good works as their eyes came off themselves.  He also had a posse wherever He went, surrounded by others who were like minded.  I enjoy watching Jesus move amongst a group of believers.  Through each other He rouses each of us and good works become natural.  I encourage you to find a group of like minded believers and plug in.  It is absolutely amazing, witnessing God at work!

Dear Father God, I do not fear for You are always with me.  I thank You for that grace.  Bless this day Lord, bless the men's prayer meeting this morning.  You rouse each of us in special ways and we in turn carry You into the world, always living better than when we came.  Prayers for those who have not figured out how to plug in to You, give them the grace and desire to be in Your presence.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Hebrews 10:11 1-30-2019 dailythoughts.com

"Every priest stands daily at his ministry, offering frequently those same sacrifices that can never take away sins." ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:11‬

So are you a priest?  What is your ministry?  When we sit at the feet of Jesus each day, He writes His laws in your mind and your heart.  You begin to see your daily sacrifice as a ministry.  You meet people where they are at and Jesus begins to show you ways to plant seeds.  That is all He asks of us, to plant seeds and to till the ground.  He, the Great High Priest will grow the seed.  Allowing God to work through you is a great ministry because your will becomes His.  Each day is an adventure and with Jesus within, you just have to be you because you are made in His image.  Enjoy the day ahead, God prepared it for you, give Him thanks by giving it back to Him.  Listen to your heart.

Dear Lord God, You are so good to me, each day is a blessing and You meet me where I am at.  I thank You for Your calling in my life.  I thank You for sitting at Your feet and being prepared for the day.  You always know what I need and when to give it.  Prayers for a friend who is being strengthened, can't wait to see what You are doing in Him, my sense tells me it will be really good.  Bless this day and bless Your people in their daily lives, Amen.

Hebrews 10:10 1-29-2019 dailythoughts.com

"By this "will," we have been consecrated through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all." ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:10‬

You have already been made Holy, do you realize this?  Jesus paid the price for you and all we need to do is accept it.  "and, after he had given thanks, broke it and said, "This is my body that is for you. Do this in remembrance of me."" ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭11:24‬.  Do we see the opportunities He places in front of us to give thanks?  If you are already Holy then all we must do is respond to the will of God.  He will give you the strength to carry them out.  Do not let life whizz by and miss the presence of God.  Do not focus on self and miss His beauty.  We are surrounded by many opportunities to carry out His will and give back what He has willingly given, His life.

Dear Lord God, Thank You for this day, Thank You for consecrating me for Your Holy will.  May I respond as You would in the daily opportunities that come up.  May I see You in all I meet and do as You would do.  Prayers for a couple going through some struggles, may they recognize the beauty of God working in their lives, and may they be at peace as God continues to reveal His plan.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Mark 3:25 1-28-2019 dailythoughts.com

"And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand." Mark‬ ‭3:25‬

I think how sin creeps into our lives in very simple ways to cloud our thinking and before you know it, it has taken hold and is driving wedges into all kind of situations.  Christ gives us the power to get rid of this division, "get behind me Satan".  Spend a little time thinking how you are being made weak and ask God for His strength.  Division causes pain and weakens for all involved, it also makes us realize the power of good and evil.  Most see the effects of evil, invite God in and see the power of Good take over.

Dear Heavenly Father, we live in a world that denies sin but feels the effects of it.  Help us live life's that are dedicated to You and sin does not have a strong hold on us.  Help us examine our conscious, help us acknowledge sin and help us be united with You, the King of Glory.  Prayers for all under the influence of the devil, he is real and just like Eve can convince us we are doing no wrong.  I ask this in Jesus name, the One who conquered Sin so we may live forever.

Mary, Queen of Saints, pray for us.

Nehemiah 8:5-6 1-27-2019 dailythoughts.com

"Ezra opened the scroll so that all the people might see it, for he was standing higher than any of the people. When he opened it, all the people stood. Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God, and all the people, their hands raised high, answered, "Amen, amen!" Then they knelt down and bowed before the LORD, their faces to the ground." ‭‭Nehemiah‬ ‭8:5-6‬

What is God saying to me?  Just as My Son Jesus fulfilled the scripture so do you when you follow His instructions.  The old is revealed in the new and the new is revealed in the old.  My Words are constant and never changing.  It is man and man's ways that change the desire of My heart.  You may not understand why some kneel and bow down in their worship services, they are following My example that has been laid  out in scripture and by the example of My Son.  (I read the readings for today which included the Gospel reading Lk 1:1-4; 4:14-21, and the above verse spoke of how I worship God at Sunday Mass)

Dear Father, Your Words come to life as I hear them and read them.  You are revealing their beauty a little at a time.  I thank You for illuminating my mind when we are engaged together.  Thank You for the opportunity and the desire to worship You and receive You into my spirit.  You are constantly engaging my senses to perceive what it is I have to comprehend.  Bless this day, allow Your Presence to penetrate all the areas of my being so I may better communicate Your will. I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

2 Timothy 1:6

"For this reason, I remind you to stir into flame the gift of God that you have through the imposition of my hands." ‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭1:6‬

Saint Paul gives us great advice this morning.  It reminds me of sitting in front of a fire enjoying its comfort and warmth.  If I sit too long these rewards die down and I must do something to continue to get the benefit.  Much like our Christian walk, rest too long and the fire will reside within.  Prayer, daily face time with God, mass or church services, reading scripture, quiet reflection, giving of self to others, listening to someone in need, visiting the sick, speaking of God, receiving the Eucharist, praising God, all these actions stoke the fire.  And through them God speaks, He feeds the mind, He nourishes the soul, He feeds the spirit.  The fire burning within gives off much love if we will stir it into flames.

Lord God, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof but only say the word and I shall be healed.  Thank You Father for inner healing, I will keep stirring and I know you are faithful and will keep stoking the fire.  My life is an offering to You.  Prayers for a friend in need of great help, give Him strength to stand erect during these trials, he is a good man.  I ask this through Jesus Christ, the fire within.  Amen.

Mary, Our Lady of Love, pray for us.

Mark 16:15 1-25-2019 dailythoughts.com

"He said to them, "Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature." ‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15‬

Until the Gospel becomes personal, in my opinion, nothing happens.  We are all sent into the world and we all proclaim, is the Gospel part of that proclamation?  Saul proclaimed a message and then the Word of God became personal and the proclamation was of God for He journeyed with Him.  Think about your actions and see either Saul or Paul proclaiming, we do one or the other.  On a personal note, did you realize at the end of every Catholic Mass we are sent, "Go forth spreading the Gospel with lives of dedicated love." Or some variation of this, have you considered this is really the beginning of the mass if we are participating.  Who do you carry into the world? Just a little food for thought.

Dear Father, You know the joy in my heart this morning, You know my thoughts and You are with me all the time.  Thank You Father for ears to hear, eyes to see and a voice to speak.  It is Your Holy Spirit that works through me, I love chewing on Your Words and Your answer back.  You are amazing and all is good even if the seas are choppy and chaotic at times.  You are Real!  To God be the Glory, forever and ever, Amen.

Hebrews 8:1-6 1-24-2019 dailythoughts.com

"The main point of what has been said is this: we have such a high priest, who has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, a minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle that the Lord, not man, set up. Now every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices; thus the necessity for this one also to have something to offer. If then he were on earth, he would not be a priest, since there are those who offer gifts according to the law. They worship in a copy and shadow of the heavenly sanctuary, as Moses was warned when he was about to erect the tabernacle. For he says, "See that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain." Now he has obtained so much more excellent a ministry as he is mediator of a better covenant, enacted on better promises." ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭8:1-6‬

Have you discovered the beauty of the Catholic Mass?  The priest is a minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle that the Lord, not man, set up.  The priest is following the pattern that was shown us by the great High Priest, Jesus.  He, the priest, is the Persona Christi for the Mediator of a better covenant.   We also have been shown a pattern by Jesus as we go forth from the mass to imitate Christ and bring God into the world.  Our actions speak for who we represent, when you say Amen upon receiving the Eucharist are you also saying "I do", when you go out into the world with Jesus within your soul?

Dear Heavenly Father, are we listening to You as You speak, are we putting our faith into action when in the marketplace.  Are we living the scriptures in our daily walk?  "He said to them, "Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature." ‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15‬  Help me see my actions today Lord, help me slow down and respond and not react, help me bring Christ out into the world.  For You are greater in me, I trust in You for Your will to be done and I give You authority in my life.  Help us see the truth in Your Most Holy Mass, the offering of self.  Amen.

Mary, Queen of Saints, pray for us.

Mark 3:1-5 1-23-2019 dailythoughts.com

"Again he entered the synagogue. There was a man there who had a withered hand. They watched him closely to see if he would cure him on the sabbath so that they might accuse him. He said to the man with the withered hand, "Come up here before us." Then he said to them, "Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath rather than to do evil, to save life rather than to destroy it?" But they remained silent. Looking around at them with anger and grieved at their hardness of heart, he said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." He stretched it out and his hand was restored." ‭‭Mark‬ ‭3:1-5‬

If you close your eyes and put yourself in the synagogue, you can almost hear the thoughts of all involved.  The man with the crippled hand is praying and worshiping God.  His heart is where it needs to be.  The Pharisees are wondering if Jesus will break the law, they are full of self righteousness not concerned about his hand or God.  Jesus see their hearts as well and becomes angry.  He knows they are missing what God seeks.  How do we treat others, do we see what Jesus sees?  Are we willing to help, will we get involved and offer prayers up to God or are we indifferent causing Jesus to become grieved.  In this story, God allows each of them to choose their own path just as He does us.

Dear Father, I pray I don't become like the Pharisees in my daily walk.  Help me see the heart and respond as You do.  Prayers for direction in a situation God, You see what I can't.  I give You authority in the path forward.  Bless this day, may you continue to rain down peace within our lives.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Mark 2:23 1-22-2019 dailythoughts.com

"As he was passing through a field of grain on the sabbath, his disciples began to make a path while picking the heads of grain." ‭‭Mark‬ ‭2:23‬

When I close my eyes this morning, I can feel the breeze and the stalks of grain passing thru my fingers.  I can feel the warmth of the day and the joy in my heart.   I am also reminded that I am following Jesus.  At times in our lives it may seem as though we are going thru the motions when in fact we are following the path God has for us if we are giving Him our most precious gift, our time.  Close your eyes and enjoy the comfort God gives us when we are in His presence.

Dear Heavenly Father, You provide the finest wheat and always feed us with the best gifts.  In the monotony of life, let us feel the joy when we sit still in Your presence.  Our journey is only beginning but we must learn to follow You.  Thank You for this day and the opportunities it has to offer.  I see You out in front and I am being obedient and following right behind.  Prayers for those that are lost and seeking You, may they find You in the quiet of their heart.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Hebrews 5:8-9 1-21-2019 dailythoughts.com

"Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered; and when he was made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him," ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭5:8-9‬

Jesus understands our journey for He walked it as well, He suffered our walk for it was us who was on His mind.  Jesus was perfect but He chose His path so we could be made clean.  You were on His mind as He walked, is He on your mind as you walk?  Will we obey Him to receive eternal salvation, He understands the choices we make.  You are being made perfect.

Dear Lord God, You understand me and accept me for who I am, even my weaknesses.  I seek to please You each day and somedays fall short but You are the encourager renewing my spirit.  Prayers for those going through hardships, may they recognize God speaking to them and may they trust in Him.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Hebrews 4:14-16 1-19-2019 dailythoughts.com

"Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has similarly been tested in every way, yet without sin. So let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and to find grace for timely help." ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:14-16‬

Are we to go to confessions?  Or can we just confess our sins to God and forget about them?  What does the Bible tell us about confessions: "Whomever you forgive anything, so do I. For indeed what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, has been for you in the presence of Christ,"
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭2:10‬ ‭ These are the words of St Paul, who forgives sins in the presence of Christ.  Again St Paul tells us: "And all this is from God, who has reconciled us to himself through Christ and given us the ministry of reconciliation," ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:18‬.  God gave us the ministry of reconciliation, and we are to go to the throne of mercy.  We are called to go to confessions, we are told we will receive grace for timely help.  There is much more to confessions than our own understanding.  Admit your faults and seek His mercy in the presence of Christ.  For myself, this is the person who the authority has been given to - a priest.

Dear Father, we are all sinners and fall short of Your Glory, with Your help we can receive Your grace to get back up and go again.  I am striving to learn, teach me Father what it is I am to learn.  Thank You for the Sacrament of Confessions, May I go to Your throne, humble of heart and eager to receive.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Mark 2:5 1-18-2019 dailythoughts.com

"When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Child, your sins are forgiven."" ‭‭Mark‬ ‭2:5‬

Sin has a way of paralyzing our faith, it gets us to believe that you are no good or are not worthy, this is the lie of sin.  It is our faith that cries out to God, it is our faith that searches for God, it is our faith that turns to God with our sin.  We get to a point that we can no longer do anything other than turn to Him that created us in His image.  I am amazed at how God hears us and how quickly He responds.  Do we see that response or hear it?  We do but sometimes we are blind or deaf to it.  God hears you and say: "Child, your sins are forgiven."  "he said to the paralytic, "I say to you, rise, pick up your mat, and go home."" Mark‬ ‭2:11‬.  Now we must accept His word and walk in faith, one day at a time.  Don't forget Jesus fell three times while carrying His cross.  Get back up, dust yourself off and go again.  God heard you, do you hear Him?

Dear Father God, you amaze me more than I can fathom!  Ever word we speak You hear and You always respond in miraculous ways when we cry out for help.  Build up our faith when we are weak, increase our strength in our daily walk.  Remind us to tell Satan to get behind us when he attacks.  You, God, are greater within, make us see Your strength in our souls.  Thank You Father for always being there.  Prayers for all those struggling with alcohol, give them peace in knowing this too shall pass, one day at a time.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Hebrews 3:14 1-17-2019 dailythoughts.com

"We have become partners of Christ if only we hold the beginning of the reality firm until the end," ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭3:14‬

Do you recall that excitement when you first received Jesus?  When you were blessed with the reality of His Presence and the Holy Spirit.  Doesn't stay like that forever does it, we face many challenges, obstacles and disappointments along the way.  Jesus faces these same things on His journey, how did He maintain His Joy?  He reached out to His Father and recognized how He is loved by Him.  When He got weary, He went to Him.  There is a joy and a peace in knowing you are loved and God listens and understands.  He is the rock because His Son Jesus walked the same walk, He stood firm even while hanging on the cross.  Your situation, Jesus, shows us the way, turn to the Father and be made strong, renew your strength and go enjoy the day.  Praise God you are loved!

Dear Father God, You know what I speak about, You understand and You rose from the dead.  We are partners because Your blood runs thru my veins, You are my strength and my Joy.  I am loved by You and You are the way.  Thank You Father for Your grace, Your blessings and most of all Your hope.  Today is going to be a good day.  I love You and thank You for allowing me to see what Jesus sees, to feel what Jesus feels and to live as Jesus lives. Amen.

Mark 1:35 1-16-2019 dailythoughts.com

"In the early morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went away to a secluded place, and was praying there." ‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:35‬

Why would God need to get up early and go pray? Because He is the Son of Man, the demands, that He chose, were constant and He needed that quiet time to be in relationship with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Do you deny yourself sleep and the warmth of your bed to get up early to be in relationship with the Triune God. You have many demands on you as well, there is peace in listening to God early in the day when the mind is at rest. Jesus, had to make the same decision, do I listen to my body or do I seek my Father in Heaven. He chose wisely, what will you do?

Dear Triune God, I see the humanity of Jesus facing the same decisions I must make, I thank You for the desire to be with You. I thank You for the peace in the quiet of the morning and the quiet of my heart. You prepare me for the day ahead and the demands it has. Thank You Father for sending Your Son Jesus to be our example and for the guidance of Your Holy Spirit. Give us the grace to carry Jesus with us throughout the entire day. I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

"All were amazed and asked one another, "What is this? A new teaching with authority. He commands even the unclean spirits and they obey him.""  ‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:27‬

Do we give Jesus authority in our own lives? I sit and reflect this morning with the thought, "cleanse me from my sins".   Do we allow Jesus to operate within, it is easy to see the sins of others but what about ours?  Will we allow Jesus to drive out the unclean spirits?

Dear Father God, I give You authority to operate within and cleanse me from my sins.  I thank You Father for driving out what is not clean within.  Bless this day and be ever by my side and within, Amen.

Hebrews 1:2-3 1-14-2019 dailythoughts.com

"in these last days, he spoke to us through a son, whom he made heir of all things and through whom he created the universe, who is the refulgence of his glory, the very imprint of his being, and who sustains all things by his mighty word. When he had accomplished purification from sins, he took his seat at the right hand of the Majesty on high," Hebrews‬ ‭1:2-3‬

Do you hear Jesus calling You?  The trappings of this world can lead us astray into areas we never dreamed we would go, yet God calls and we are to follow.  He knows the way forward, He has already paid the price for our sins and we must be purified to seek His Holy will for our lives.  I examine myself this morning and ponder my actions, am I listening, are my actions of Him.  We too can take our place in Heaven but we must become good followers of the Son of God.  Listen to Him and let Him guide you into eternity.

Dear Heavenly Father, I am listening being carried into Your heart.  It isn't easy to know the way forward, I see the snares of the devil and the victims being trapped.  I trust in You this day, I pray for those lost in the darkness may I help in whatever way You ask.  Thank You for the continued purification, I am thankful they are plain and simple steps.   Bless this day and may we hear Your voice so we can follow You.  Amen.

Titus 3:5-7

"not because of any righteous deeds we had done but because of his mercy, he saved us through the bath of rebirth and renewal by the holy Spirit, whom he richly poured out on us through Jesus Christ our savior, so that we might be justified by his grace and become heirs in hope of eternal life."  ‭‭Titus‬ ‭3:5-7‬

I am grabbing with the term justified by His grace this morning.  Grace is a gift from God, freely given, in order for it to be justified it must be received.  And if received there will be evidence of its existence.  The Holy Spirit came upon Jesus when He was baptized, this is when His ministry took on a public roll, His actions were the evidence of the Holy Spirit.  I believe in the same way our actions, when listening and responding to Jesus, testifies to the grace that we received.  To ignore what Jesus tells us denies the grace we are given.  So if we are to be justified by grace we must act upon it.  I must decrease so He can increase.

Mary, Mother of the Innocence, pray for us.

Come Holy Spirit, over shadow us with your gentle wisdom and power.  Enliven us to proclaim all that is good within and increase our desire to do as You did.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Matthew 4:16 1-12-2019 dailythoughts.com

"the people who sit in darkness have seen a great light, on those dwelling in a land overshadowed by death light has arisen."" ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭4:16‬

Are you being lead into the heart of God?  Do you consider how Jesus thought, how He responded to others, how He chose right from wrong, how He lives His life.  This life I live is no longer mine but His, it really makes you think how do I, overshadowed by death let the light of Christ arise in everyday events.  The choices you make are leading you towards God or away.  Closer is always best and removes the pain we cause ourselves and others.

Dear Heavenly Father, You are leading me into the heart of Jesus, the journey is amazing and has opened up new insights.  Reveal yourself to those sitting in darkness who are causing themselves and others pain.  Prayers for a friend dealing with Cancer, strengthen him for the journey and heal his body.  I ask this through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.

Luke 5:13-15 1-11-2019 dailythoughts.com

"Jesus stretched out his hand, touched him, and said, "I do will it. Be made clean." And the leprosy left him immediately. Then he ordered him not to tell anyone, but "Go, show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing what Moses prescribed; that will be proof for them." The report about him spread all the more, and great crowds assembled to listen to him and to be cured of their ailments," ‭‭Luke‬ ‭5:13-15‬

"I do will it. Be made clean."  Jesus wants us all to be made clean, to go to the temple and worship His Father.  Anyone with leprosy was kept away from the temple and there was a process for purification.  (Leviticus 14:2-9).  What are you holding onto that like the Leper, you need to bring to Jesus.  Jesus wills it, do you?  To see Jesus at work in others is truly amazing, to hear the reports is a gift.  If we are going to deepen our relationship with God, we will be purified as well.  Not a fun process because you have to look inward.

Dear Heavenly Father, You know what is going on in my world and what I am asking for.  I trust in You and thank You for the guidance and purification.  Praise and thanksgiving for the growth of the various prayer groups, Jesus is at work along with Your Holy Spirit.  Watch over all of us this day, keep us out of harm and draw us to Your Holy temple.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Don't you love traditions, they get passed on from generation to generation.  We just took down our Christmas tree and put up all the decorations.  Traditions teach values, gives purpose to what we do.  In this scripture, Jesus also followed traditions that were given to Him.  If we are honest with ourselves, do we seek to follow traditions or do we look for new and exciting ways?  I see a world denying Christ and His traditions being deceived by the evil one.  There are a lot of things a foot but we as faithful followers of Jesus must follow Him.  "Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ." ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭11:1‬.  We go to Church to worship God, not only to be fed, we offer ourselves and give of our time to worship Him that created us.

Dear Lord Jesus, You came so we may follow You and do as You did.  Thank You for the wonderful traditions that You gave us.  Thank You for all Your faithful servants who give of themselves in sacrifice to Your Holy Orders.  Lord, help us examine ourselves as we enter Your presence and may we be in amazement when we come into Your Holy Church to worship You.  You are the Truth and the Way, may I follow faithfully and trust in Your guidance.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Mother Most Pure, pray for us.

John 6:50-52 1-9-2019 dailythoughts.com

"They had all seen him and were terrified. But at once he spoke with them, "Take courage, it is I, do not be afraid!" He got into the boat with them and the wind died down. They were [completely] astounded. They had not understood the incident of the loaves. On the contrary, their hearts were hardened."  Mark‬ ‭6:50-52‬

Are we open to the teachings of Jesus in our every day lives?  Do you see the miracles that are happening around you?  We can journey with Christ and still have hardened hearts.  Being open to the possibilities allows His love to be perfected within us.  It takes us to sit and examine ourselves, being available to Jesus and asking: what if?  Or what really happened?  "While they were eating, he took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them, and said, "Take it; this is my body."" ‭‭Mark‬ ‭14:22‬.  In my humanness I am nothing but upon receiving the divinity of Christ, I become what I eat and am able to continue on being perfected by God.  We all need food for the journey!

Dear Lord God, our hearts can be hardened to the possibilities of life, we become filled with pride, self centered ness, envy, false teachings and miss out on the beauty of receiving You.  Help us see with openness and perfect each of us as only You can.  Prayers for those being softened in their daily journey, help them recognize You in the boat teaching, may they receive with child like faith what You are giving them.  Bless this day Lord and bless our CCD class tonight with astonishment.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Mother of Love, pray for us.

Luke 4:18a 1-8-2019 dailythoughts.com

""The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring glad tidings to the poor."  Luke‬ ‭4:18‬a

Have you been anointed?  Or is that reserved for just some and not others?  As I reflect upon this verse, another comes to mind, the parable of the gold coins, Luke 19:11-27.   To whom much is given, much is expected.  We each spread the good news differently and if you take an accounting of how you speak of God, You will see in what ways you are proclaiming.  At the mass, the priest puts his hands over the gifts and blesses them.  He is multiplying the gifts, the body and blood of Jesus.  You are the gifts that He is multiplying.   Without you than Jesus can not reach those that He is to bring the glad tidings too.  What are you waiting for, trust in the Lord and act.  Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.  1 John 4:4b

Dear Father God, there is beauty in the multiplication of the fish and loaves.  We are your body here on earth and have been anointed for special purposes.   Thank You Lord for this calling, may I continue to trust in You, listen to Your call and respond with faith knowing I am not alone for You are with me.  Prayers for this day, be in my actions and deeds so more come to experience life with You.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Luke 12:37a 1-7-2019 dailythoughts.com

"Blessed are those servants whom the master finds vigilant on his arrival." ‭‭Luke‬ ‭12:37‬a

When I was a kid, I was a boy scout and the scouts motto is: "always be prepared."  It is the motto for a Christian as well, God tells us to be vigilant and prepared for His return.  It is such a blessing to be able to have a conversation with God, to have Him in your life 24/7 because I seek Him out.  Life can be so chaotic that we neglect being prepared.  We are too busy to speak with Him, we are too busy to worship Him, we place other things as greater priorities than God.  I was like that in my younger days and I understand not knowing any better.  But now I know and it is a blessing.  To know that God hears you and you hear Him, to give Him your time, to be able to converse at any time.  To go and worship Him is such a blessing.   Life is busy but not giving God some of your time in prayer and worship is a big mistake.  A servant listens to His Master.

Dear Father, I see many things each day in ways I used to be.  I thank You for coming into my world and for allowing me to see.  I pray for all those that are too busy in their daily lives to give You some of Your time.  I offer myself in their place, use me as Your instrument to bring Your light into the darkness of a crazy world.  I am Your obedient servant who seeks to make You happy.  Bless this day Lord with Peace, Insight and understanding.  Prayers for Robert, may He recognize You are real and are not to be denied.  Thank You Father for this day, Amen.

Isaiah 60:1-2 1-6-2019 dailythoughts.com

"Arise! Shine, for your light has come, the glory of the LORD has dawned upon you. Though darkness covers the earth, and thick clouds, the peoples, Upon you the LORD will dawn, and over you his glory will be seen." Isaiah‬ ‭60:1-2‬

Today we celebrate the Epiphany of Our Lord.  Is He the shining light the guides you back to Him for eternity?  We all are guided in life by something or someone.  What guides you, is it love of family, love of Jesus, love of power, love of money, love of self.  Allow Jesus to be your guiding light and see the world in a completely different light.  In all those things that guide us if we place Jesus at the center and allow Him to lead we will fulfill His prophecy for each of us.  "Then you shall see and be radiant, your heart shall throb and overflow. For the riches of the sea shall be poured out before you, the wealth of nations shall come to you." ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭60:5‬

Dear Lord God, You know how my heart overflows for You.  The treasures that you offer are more than anything else that the world can give.  Thank You Father for the many gifts that You give in chance encounters, in those who are full of wisdom, in the knowledge that You offer through others.  You are my guiding light, and You are my desire.  May I share Your joy in simple ways that gives You glory.  Praise be the name of Jesus, He has come to save each of us.  Be docile and submissive to His wisdom and guidance.  Amen.

Mary, Mother of the Child Jesus, pray for us.

1 John 3:18-21 1-5-2019 dailythoughts.com

"Children, let us love not in word or speech but in deed and truth. Now this is how we shall know that we belong to the truth and reassure our hearts before him in whatever our hearts condemn, for God is greater than our hearts and knows everything. Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence in God" 1 John‬ ‭3:18-21

God knows your heart for it is He who gives life to it.  Do you take your situations to God and ask Him to help?  The great thing is He knows what is at the heart of the situation.  Being probed by God, if we are wanting the truth, will reveal what if anything you are doing that is causing or encouraging the issue.  We can all talk a good game and justify our position but it is our actions as Christians that speak louder than anything else.  Examine yourself before God and see if your heart is condemning YOUR actions.  "Probe me, God, know my heart; try me, know my thoughts. See if there is a wicked path in me; lead me along an ancient path."
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭139:23-24‬

Dear Heavenly Father, You reside in my heart for I open it to You and invited You in.  Probe me Lord and reveal what I can not see.  Thank You Lord God for instilling the virtue of Love and obedience within me.  Prayers for those that are allowing conflicts to control their lives and relationships, with those who love them and with You.  Heal the wounds Lord and renew the love in deeds and truth.  Praise be Your Holy Name, may it always be on my lips today.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Mother of Love, pray for us.

John 1:35-36 1-4-2018 dailythoughts.com

"The next day John was there again with two of his disciples, and as he watched Jesus walk by, he said, "Behold, the Lamb of God."" ‭‭John‬ ‭1:35-36‬

Are we not all to be like John the Baptist?  Point others to the Lamb of God.  John went before Jesus preaching repentance but it is Christ who was to be their Savior.   It is a new year and a new beginning but maybe in your situation it is the same as last year and nothing seems to have changed.  Jesus is the Lamb of God.  It is to Him we are to go to, to take all things to Him in prayer and listen.   In my prayer room, I am strengthened to listen.  It maybe a word, it maybe a song, it maybe just a sense but I never leave without receiving something.  The answer is Jesus and being in His presence, even if it is in your kitchen.  So I tell you, "Behold, the Lamb of God, He waits for you."

Dear Heavenly Father, my prayer this morning is for others that believe they have no answer, You are the answer.   Help those that are in need of salvation Lord.  Help them see their daily walk is strengthened by bringing everything to You, even if they don't think there will be a answer.   I thank You for loving each of us sinners and giving us the strength to begin again, even if we have failed.  You still love us and eagerly wait to give us the strength to carry on.   Prayers for all those dealing with addiction may they see the Lamb of God acting in their lives.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Luke 2:21 1-3-2019 dailythoughts.com

"When eight days were completed for his circumcision, he was named Jesus, the name given him by the angel before he was conceived in the womb." ‭‭Luke‬ ‭2:21‬

You were also named before you were conceived, did you know that?  ""Did not He who made me in the womb make him, And the same one fashion us in the womb?"
‭‭Job‬ ‭31:15‬ ‭"For now the LORD has spoken who formed me as his servant from the womb, That Jacob may be brought back to him and Israel gathered to him; I am honored in the sight of the LORD, and my God is now my strength!" ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭49:5‬ ‭Is Jesus your strength?  Greater is He that is in me than He that is in the world.  1 John 4:4b. Jesus and the Triune God formed you before you were born, that is amazing love, are you giving Him the honor he rightfully deserves?"He said to him, "You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment."
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭22:37-38‬

Dear Heavenly Father, we are each wonderfully made in Your image and likeness to imitate Your Son Jesus.  Help me recognize the areas I fall short, help me honor and serve You as Jesus does.  Allow me to trust and humble myself before You today for You are greater than anything I will face.  Prayers for our Bishops who are on retreat, may the Holy Spirit be their guide.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Mary, Mother of Jesus, pray for us.

1 John 2:27 1-2-2019 dailythoughts.com

"As for you, the anointing that you received from him remains in you, so that you do not need anyone to teach you. But his anointing teaches you about everything and is true and not false; just as it taught you, remain in him." ‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:27‬

A new year, a new beginning.  Don't we look to others for answers, do we seek out the answer from God?  As I begin this year, I am drawn to my spiritual devotion, spending time at the Masters feet.  It isn't easy because your brain wants to jump around, you get fidgety, or there is nothingness in your thoughts.  But over time you learn to sit still, listen and hear God speak.  "For a child is born to us, a son is given to us; upon his shoulder dominion rests. They name him Wonder-Counselor, God-Hero, Father-Forever, Prince of Peace." Isaiah‬ ‭9:5‬ "This too comes from the LORD of hosts; wonderful is his counsel and great his wisdom." ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭28:29‬.  Wonder-Counselor is His message to me, these words popped into my head and I went to Him(the Bible).  In Him we receive wisdom and knowledge.

Wonder-Counselor, You teach only what You can give.  I am enjoying our visits more and more each day even though they seem void but in fact are full.  I am a willing spirit in Your hands God, open what is hidden, increase my desire and help us develop the habit of sitting at Your feet.  Prayers for those lost in the noise, remove what hinders the spiritual journey.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Mary, Mother of Love, pray for us.

God says it a little different in song but the message is the same. https://youtu.be/S14ewSXwLc8

Numbers 6:24-26 1-1-2019 dailythoughts.com

"The LORD bless you and keep you! The LORD let his face shine upon you, and be gracious to you! The LORD look upon you kindly and give you peace!" ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭6:24-26‬

It is a new year and a new beginning!  As I went to mass celebrating the Solemnity of the Blessed Mother this evening these words seemed like a great way to end the year and now are a great way to begin again.  With God in our lives and our love for Him and His Holy Family, we are blessed.  He seeks nothing more than to bring you joy and comfort.  What will be different in this new year?  I will make ever effort to pay attention to His promptings, to listen to what He is saying,(I recognize this as what grabs my attention) and to be super sensitive to His Holy Spirit.  God bless you in 2019, make time for Him each and every day and live in peace.  You are loved by the Creator of the Universe!

Dear Heavenly Father, I am blessed beyond measure for no matter what the situation You are with me and I am with You.  Thank You for the graces that you pour out, thank You for drawing us closer to Your perfect examples of Christian living.  Bless the Church Lord with Holy people willing to stand in the gap.  This coming year will be a blessing and You are working miracles before our eyes.  Prayers for all those dealing with loneliness and suffering loss of a loved one, be close to them Lord and pour Your love out upon them.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us.
