Luke 4:18a 1-8-2019 dailythoughts.com

""The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring glad tidings to the poor."  Luke‬ ‭4:18‬a

Have you been anointed?  Or is that reserved for just some and not others?  As I reflect upon this verse, another comes to mind, the parable of the gold coins, Luke 19:11-27.   To whom much is given, much is expected.  We each spread the good news differently and if you take an accounting of how you speak of God, You will see in what ways you are proclaiming.  At the mass, the priest puts his hands over the gifts and blesses them.  He is multiplying the gifts, the body and blood of Jesus.  You are the gifts that He is multiplying.   Without you than Jesus can not reach those that He is to bring the glad tidings too.  What are you waiting for, trust in the Lord and act.  Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.  1 John 4:4b

Dear Father God, there is beauty in the multiplication of the fish and loaves.  We are your body here on earth and have been anointed for special purposes.   Thank You Lord for this calling, may I continue to trust in You, listen to Your call and respond with faith knowing I am not alone for You are with me.  Prayers for this day, be in my actions and deeds so more come to experience life with You.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Mary, Queen of Peace, pray for us.

Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.  1 John 4:4b
