"They had all seen him and were terrified. But at once he spoke with them, "Take courage, it is I, do not be afraid!" He got into the boat with them and the wind died down. They were [completely] astounded. They had not understood the incident of the loaves. On the contrary, their hearts were hardened." Mark 6:50-52
Are we open to the teachings of Jesus in our every day lives? Do you see the miracles that are happening around you? We can journey with Christ and still have hardened hearts. Being open to the possibilities allows His love to be perfected within us. It takes us to sit and examine ourselves, being available to Jesus and asking: what if? Or what really happened? "While they were eating, he took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them, and said, "Take it; this is my body."" Mark 14:22. In my humanness I am nothing but upon receiving the divinity of Christ, I become what I eat and am able to continue on being perfected by God. We all need food for the journey!
Dear Lord God, our hearts can be hardened to the possibilities of life, we become filled with pride, self centered ness, envy, false teachings and miss out on the beauty of receiving You. Help us see with openness and perfect each of us as only You can. Prayers for those being softened in their daily journey, help them recognize You in the boat teaching, may they receive with child like faith what You are giving them. Bless this day Lord and bless our CCD class tonight with astonishment. In Jesus name, Amen.
Mary, Mother of Love, pray for us.
