"not because of any righteous deeds we had done but because of his mercy, he saved us through the bath of rebirth and renewal by the holy Spirit, whom he richly poured out on us through Jesus Christ our savior, so that we might be justified by his grace and become heirs in hope of eternal life." Titus 3:5-7
I am grabbing with the term justified by His grace this morning. Grace is a gift from God, freely given, in order for it to be justified it must be received. And if received there will be evidence of its existence. The Holy Spirit came upon Jesus when He was baptized, this is when His ministry took on a public roll, His actions were the evidence of the Holy Spirit. I believe in the same way our actions, when listening and responding to Jesus, testifies to the grace that we received. To ignore what Jesus tells us denies the grace we are given. So if we are to be justified by grace we must act upon it. I must decrease so He can increase.

Come Holy Spirit, over shadow us with your gentle wisdom and power. Enliven us to proclaim all that is good within and increase our desire to do as You did. I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
