If then he were on earth, he would not be a priest, since there are those who offer gifts according to the law. They worship in a copy and shadow of the heavenly sanctuary, as Moses was warned when he was about to erect the tabernacle. For he says, "See that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain." Now he has obtained so much more excellent a ministry as he is mediator of a better covenant, enacted on better promises." Hebrews 8:1-6
Have you discovered the beauty of the Catholic Mass? The priest is a minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle that the Lord, not man, set up. The priest is following the pattern that was shown us by the great High Priest, Jesus. He, the priest, is the Persona Christi for the Mediator of a better covenant. We also have been shown a pattern by Jesus as we go forth from the mass to imitate Christ and bring God into the world. Our actions speak for who we represent, when you say Amen upon receiving the Eucharist are you also saying "I do", when you go out into the world with Jesus within your soul?
Dear Heavenly Father, are we listening to You as You speak, are we putting our faith into action when in the marketplace. Are we living the scriptures in our daily walk? "He said to them, "Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature." Mark 16:15 Help me see my actions today Lord, help me slow down and respond and not react, help me bring Christ out into the world. For You are greater in me, I trust in You for Your will to be done and I give You authority in my life. Help us see the truth in Your Most Holy Mass, the offering of self. Amen.
