Isaiah 49:17-26 The Sacrifice

"I will make your oppressors eat their own flesh, and they shall be drunk with their own blood as though with new wine. All flesh shall know that I, the LORD, am your savior, your redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob." Isaiah‬ ‭49:26‬

Isaiah 49:17-26  The Sacrifice.    "Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters."  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭12:30‬ ‭ According to the Word of God, we will not get out of this world without eating flesh, either the flesh of Christ which is the truth or our own flesh, for the truth that we follow is our own.  Jesus said to them, "Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you."  ‭‭John‬ ‭6:53‬  In the end we will know the truth, which side will you be standing on?  Jesus did not die in vain, He died for you, YOU are Christ's passion.  Listen to God and lay down the flesh of this world.  "Jesus said to him, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."  ‭‭John‬ ‭14:6‬

What is God saying to to me: In due time

Dear Father, You gave me time to think this morning, to quiet my thoughts and enjoy the beginning of another beautiful day.  Thank You Father for sharing with me what is important, Your creation that is within each of us.  I thank You Father for the Advocate, it is He who has taught all that went before us and it is He who is teaching us now if we would be obedient to His voice.  Prayers of thanksgiving for all the great gifts that You provide and the most important ones are the simplest but yet the most difficult to comprehend.  Prayers for our country as we decide our path forward, even in the turmoil, You are there leading the faithful through the wilderness.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 49:8-16 Cry Out

"See, upon the palms of my hands I have engraved you; your walls are ever before me."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭49:16‬

Isaiah 49:8-16  Cry Out.  We are never alone in this world, the One whom we can not see is there with us always at the ready for our cry out.  The Israelites cried out in Egypt and He rescued us, the blood of Abel cried out and He rescued us, Joesph cried out and He rescued us.  Even in our own sins when we cry out, God hears our cries.  His Son, Jesus bore our pain in the palm of His hands, He knows every intimate detail and is at the ready when we cry out.  Humble yourself before the Lord, lay down your pride and receive the gift of Love.

What is God saying to me:

Dear Father, there is lots going on and yet we find time to visit each day, many times.  I thank You for listening, for always being there to calm the seas.  Your Love has penetrated my heart deeply and there is nothing I fear other than You and with You there is nothing to fear.  I pray for the humility to always cry out in both good times and bad, I know You will always answer.  Bless this day Father, watch over this country and the attack we are under.  Even in this situation You are making all things new.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 49:1-7 Jesus

"For now the LORD has spoken who formed me as his servant from the womb, That Jacob may be brought back to him and Israel gathered to him; I am honored in the sight of the LORD, and my God is now my strength!"  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭49:5‬

Isaiah 49:1-7  Jesus.  I read these verses this morning and it is Jesus speaking.  I see Isaiah sitting and writing down the holy inspired word of God.  I see a man of faith living the life that he is called too, but I hear Jesus.  I see two in these verses, Jesus and Isaiah.  Isaiah without scripture lived in the presence of God, he lived that relationship and we get to read it.  What do you hear when you sit and ponder these verses, what does your senses give you?  Live in the presence of God and live His words.

What is God saying to me: I Am alive, I Am real, My Spirit teaches those willing to listen.  Be blessed today and thank you for sharing of yourself today.

Dear Father, I am so fortunate to be able to sit and listen, to be directed daily to wake to Your word.  I am thankful for the images and words or word you give in my mind, to witness the reality of You.  I pray for the clarity of mind to listen today, to recognize Your will in all the situations that are placed in front of me.  May I live the reality that You are giving, may I get out of the way and be a willing participant in Your glorious plan.  Thank You Father for raising up holy men and women who through their actions and words are witnessing to Your presence in a world that denies You.  Be with us this day especially those who live Your Word, I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 48 - The battle within

"If only you would attend to my commandments, your peace would be like a river, your vindication like the waves of the sea, Your descendants like the sand, the offspring of your loins like its grains, Their name never cut off or blotted out from my presence. Go forth from Babylon, flee from Chaldea! With shouts of joy declare this, announce it; Make it known to the ends of the earth, Say: "The LORD has redeemed his servant Jacob. They did not thirst when he led them through dry lands; Water from the rock he set flowing for them; he cleft the rock, and waters welled forth." There is no peace for the wicked, says the LORD."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭48:18-22‬

Isaiah 48 - The battle within.  Can we play God?  What I mean about play is fake our love for Him, will we get that past Him?  Isaiah looks at a people and sees a people playing God. "Hear this, house of Jacob called by the name Israel, sprung from the stock of Judah, You who swear by the name of the LORD and invoke the God of Israel without sincerity, without justice,". ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭48:1‬  God sees the heart so there is no playing God.  1 Samuel 16:7  The choices we make each day reveals our heart to God.  We do not see the spiritual battle going on but we feel the effects of it.  Yesterday was a cold morning, the bed was nice and warm, a delay to my start, the day got away from me.  Do we sacrifice our time and give some of it to God?  Simple decisions each day reveals the heart.   Recognize the battle, do not loose your peace, it is such an easy thing to do, one day leads to two, two to three and before you know it, there is a bunch of weeds that have grown up between the wheat.  Be obedient to God's will even when it is uncomfortable.  Have a blessed day, He loves you.

What is God saying to me: There is lessons in the failures, continue on, it is going to be a good day.

Dear Father, I see the battle, I see the struggle that is occurring.  We fall victim to the schemes of the devil and do not see it happening.  Your words speak life into my soul, they give me joy and reassurance that all is well.  You see into tomorrow and are with me, I thank You for Your guidance and protective hand that watches over my coming and going.  I trust in You!  Prayers for a friend burying his mother, comfort him Lord in his time of need.  Thank You Father of knowing another and seeing him win the race even in the trials of life.  Prayers for a
friend who lost his job, may he see the battle.  I ask this in the Holy name of Jesus, Amen.

Isaiah 47 false gods

"Thus do your wizards serve you with whom you have toiled from your youth; They wander their separate ways, with none to save you."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭47:15‬

Isaiah 47  false gods.  Life or death, there are but two roads and our choices leads us down one or the other.  Isaiah 47 reveals what happens when we get lost in our own pride, believing everything but the One True God.  Who do we take our counsel from?  Is it the voice of this world that seeks to hang a millstone around your neck and you are completely unaware of it or is it God.  Sitting in the silence and listening to His counsel, awaiting His response leads to life.  He slows your world down to where you can see, you can hear, you can listen and then with free will you get to choose.  "Both these things shall come to you suddenly, in a single day: Complete bereavement and widowhood shall come upon you Despite your many sorceries and the full power of your spells;"
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭47:9‬  Life or death will happen in a blink of the eye, only God saves, choose wisely and listen to God.

What is God saying to me:

Dear Lord God, You are King of my life, no matter the situations, I trust in Your Divine judgement.  I thank You for waken me each day with the desire to seek You, to slow my world down to where I can listen.  Thank You Father for the great gifts You are giving in the simple things of life.  To watch our grandkids grow, to spend time together, to witness to Your love.  You know what this week holds, I entrust myself to You and seek Your help to navigate its outcome.  Guide my thoughts, guide my actions, remove the obstacles that impede our relationship for in the end, I want to be with You and our family.   I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Isaiah 46 Constant

"Hear me, O house of Jacob, all the remnant of the house of Israel, My burden from the womb, whom I have carried since birth. Even to your old age I am he, even when your hair is gray I will carry you; I have done this, and I will lift you up, I will carry you to safety.

Listen to me, you fainthearted, far from the victory of justice: I am bringing on that victory, it is not far off, my salvation shall not tarry; I will put salvation within Zion, give to Israel my glory."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭46:3-4, 12-13

Isaiah 46  Constant.  God is seeking this morning, someone needs to read this and I am just going with it.  Share if you are asked.  You ever notice how those that don't believe in God, fight against Him.  The Divinity they fight against is a constant reminder in their lives.  Like any Good Father, God continually seeks us out and like any child that disagrees fights back.  It isn't until we realize there is truth in what is said, when we begin to listen with our hearts, then we begin to mature and develop that relationship.  Just like a child growing up, the parent is always constant, showing them the way to truth.  God will prevail, His word is constant and He waits for us to grow up and receive Him.

What is God saying to me:

Dear Father, I see You in my life growing, I see Your yearning for those who have turned their back upon You and I see Your loving effort to reach out.  I see Your pain on the cross as You bore those pains and the pain for our sins.  I am thankful for You teaching me and getting my attention.  I am thankful for being able to worship You in the Holy Mass, I am thankful for this gift You gave the Church and it's constant truth that it teaches.  Prayers for our priests that are being challenged in their speech when speaking truth.  Thank You Father for leading us to safety And truth.   I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Isaiah 45 In the Lord

"I have not spoken in secret from some place in the land of darkness, I have not said to the descendants of Jacob, "Look for me in an empty waste." I, the LORD, promise justice, I declare what is right. Come and assemble, gather together, you fugitives from among the nations! They are without knowledge who bear wooden idols and pray to gods that cannot save. Come close and declare; let them take counsel together: Who announced this from the beginning, declared it from of old? Was it not I, the LORD, besides whom there is no other God? There is no just and saving God but me."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭45:19-21‬

Isaiah 45  In the Lord.   Nothing happens without God knowing, He gathers His people together in ways only He can gather.  There is not many versions of God, there is but one God, we do not know His ways, we do not tell Him how it goes.  We do not know the plans of the Lord, I would rather be in the Lord, trusting in His Divine providence as salvation unfolds.  Jesus tells us: "Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters." Matthew‬ ‭12:30‬  Be in the Lord as He gathers His people together.   In the fellowship of His Church, He will teach us His ways, pay attention.

What is God saying to me:  In the darkness, there is much going on, hidden from those who do not sit.  Wait and see the Glory of the Lord.

Dear Father, there is much going on as You gather us together.  I am thankful for the Advocate, that teaches Your ways.  Thankful for the plans that You are bringing together as the Master Builder and the Cornerstone.  You are the Pillar of Truth.  Prayers of thanksgiving for what You are doing right in front of us.  Bless this day Father, in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Isaiah 44:24-28 Our Rock of Salvation.

"I say of Cyrus, My shepherd! He carries out my every wish, Saying of Jerusalem, "Let it be rebuilt," and of the temple, "Lay its foundations.""  Isaiah‬ ‭44:28‬

Isaiah 44:24-28  Our Rock of Salvation.   We have seen how many try to make God in his own image, Jesus is the true Shepherd who came to teach us the truth. He gave us the teachings of His Father, He showed us the way to salvation and in these truths we are saved.  Just like in the days of old when they ignored the prophets and denied Christ and tried to make a god into their own image.  The same is happening today, Christ gives us truth.  "And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it."  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭16:18‬   Are we to deny the truth that His Church teaches us, is that any different than the people of the Old Testament ignoring the Prophets and fashioning idols into the image of God.  There is but One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church.

What is God saying to me:  I Am the way the Truth and the Life.

Dear Father, You and Your Church is a blessing to my life, I thank You for Your teachings that are being revealed within Your word.  May it sink deep within my heart so it may produce the fruit that You desire.  I pray for those being laid astray by the false prophets of this world, may distance create a desire to know the truth of Peace and draw them closer to You.  Bless this day Father and be ever by my side as we go forth, In Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 44:6-23 True God and True Man.

"It is used for fuel: with some of the wood he warms himself, makes a fire and bakes bread. Yet he makes a god and worships it, turns it into an idol and adores it! Half of it he burns in the fire, on its embers he roasts meat; he eats the roast and is full. He warms himself and says, "Ah! I am warm! I see the flames!" The rest of it he makes into a god, an image to worship and adore. He prays to it and says, "Help me! You are my god!" They do not know, do not understand; their eyes are too clouded to see, their minds, to perceive."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭44:15-18‬

Isaiah 6-23  True God and True Man.  Can we make God into our image and likeness?  The obvious answer is no but do our actions and beliefs share this Truth?  Everybody wants to be happy and that need to be happy allows us to go around and find that which fits our beliefs.  God forbid in this day and age that we are challenged and made to feel uncomfortable.  True God does not seek to make you comfortable, He seeks to challenge you, to make you think and use the intellect He gave you to find the Truth.  I see a world trying to define Truth when the only real Truth is what God teaches.  If it is comfort you seek then these verses fit.  We can not make God into our image and likeness, it is the other way around.  God transforms us into His image and likeness, without that occurring in your life, it is just a warm feeling with no substance.  To deny Church teachings is to deny Christ.

What is God saying to me: The pearl of great price requires effort and the desire to find it, use your intellect and be challenged. I Am God.  "Thus says the LORD, Israel's king, its redeemer, the LORD of hosts: I am the first, I am the last; there is no God but me."
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭44:6‬

Dear Father, You who began a good work within each of us will see it through to the end, it will accomplish what You desire for we belong to You, we are Yours.  You are the keeper of my soul, leading me into Your heart, teach me Your ways O'Lord, it isn't comfort I seek but to please You.  Prayers for a world being challenged and in the middle of a battle, Jesus I trust in You, True God and True Man.  Thank You for the blessings this day has to offer, I will give You the effort and will rely upon You for the result.   I ask this in Jesus's name, Amen.

Isaiah 44:1-5 I am the Lord’s

"I will pour out water upon the thirsty ground, streams upon the dry land; I will pour out my spirit upon your offspring, my blessing upon your descendants. They shall spring forth amid grass like poplars beside flowing waters. One shall say, "I am the LORD's," another shall be named after Jacob, And this one shall write on his hand, "The LORD's," and receive the name Israel." ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭44:3-5‬

Isaiah 44:1-5  I am the Lord's.  Who do you belong to?  Or in this world you belong to no one and are throwing caution to the wind.  Many are living life that way but I would rather belong to the Lord.  Being in a dry and thirsty land can suck the life out of you but Jesus shows us by belonging to God the Father and trusting in Him, all is well.  There is plenty of water to drink, there is peace, there is hope and there is life.  "Thus says the LORD who made you, your help, who formed you from the womb: Do not fear, Jacob, my servant, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭44:2‬  There is no better way to live, He has you.  This was the journey Jesus as Son of Man was on, each day belonged to God the Father, Jesus accepted the outcome for they lived within the Covenant relationship.  Even going to the cross, Jesus did not turn back or look for a way out, He lovingly trusted His Father.  Who do you belong to?  The choice is real easy, God is love, His rival, a dry and parched land!

What is God saying to me: Be still and know that I Am God, Jesus did.

Dear Lord God, I belong to You, each day we talk regularly and I know You have all under control.  You teach me each day and show areas in need of improvement, I listen and respond.  You also know some days are better than others, I thank You for Your loving kindness, there is always plenty of water when You live next to the stream.  Prayers for people's being forced into lockdown, concerned about tomorrow, give them peace.  Prayers for a friend whose family is experiencing Covid, give them peace.  Thank You for another day to listen and learn, I ask this in Jesus's name, Amen.

Isaiah 43 - Covenant Relationship

"But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, Jacob, and formed you, Israel: Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name: you are mine.

You are my witnesses —oracle of the LORD — my servant whom I have chosen To know and believe in me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, and after me there shall be none.

The people whom I formed for myself, that they might recount my praise. Yet you did not call upon me, Jacob, for you grew weary of me, Israel. You did not bring me sheep for your burnt offerings, nor honor me with your sacrifices. I did not exact from you the service of offerings, nor weary you for frankincense. You did not buy me sweet cane, nor did you fill me with the fat of your sacrifices; Instead, you burdened me with your sins, wearied me with your crimes." ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭43:1, 10, 21-24‬

Isaiah 43 - Covenant Relationship.  God speaks of His covenant relationship with Jacob, of His faithful witness to His word.  He points out Jacobs unfaithful actions, his half hearted efforts and ignoring God, sound familiar.  In understanding God's undying love for us, He is fully committed, we on the other hand become like a god and turn our back on Him.  That does not eliminate the covenant for what God commits to, He doesn't stop.  Prayer is a big part of our relationship with God.  You only get to know someone when you sit and visit.  God is always at the ready for you are His, a little conversation goes a long way.

What is God saying to me: Conversation opens up dialogue, dialogue reveals the heart, Love conquers all.  Be obedient to My voice.

Dear Father, I am thankful for our conversation, in Your word Your heart is being revealed.  My wayward ways are being revealed and together we are continuing to develop and grow.  It is I that is developing and growing, You are perfect, You are God.  Prayers for those who struggle with You Father, who like Jacob and Israel wandered away.  You are always there with open arms ready to receive Your children.  Bless this day Father, prayers for a friend that carries anger in his heart, release his pain that holds him back.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Isaiah 42:10-25 Heed His voice.

"I will lead the blind on a way they do not know; by paths they do not know I will guide them. I will turn darkness into light before them, and make crooked ways straight. These are my promises: I made them, I will not forsake them."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭42:16‬

Isaiah 42:10-25  Heed His voice.  "My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me."  ‭‭John‬ ‭10:27‬  We always want to know the details, who what how where and when, then we are ready to act.  God doesn't operate that way, I look back at a time in my life when I took a leap of faith.  I didn't know all the details but I knew that was the right step.  It was a big move for us as a family and it was God's plan for our lives.  Faith causes us to move and respond, I never know what God will give me each morning and each morning He speaks to my heart.  In a sense I am blind but that same instinct is there to know the right step.  I have learned in listening in the darkness, the picture is being painted.  I do not need to know the details just to hear the whisper and He waits for that trust that follows.  Prayer is the best part of my day and the first fruits that we are to give our Lord.  Happy Monday, God never sleeps.

What is God saying to me: Be patient, it takes a step of faith and I will respond with affirmation.  Watch a baby, that is how it learns to walk but first it takes a step of faith.

Dear Father, You lead me along paths or clear flowing water that refreshes my spirit each day.  I love our relationship as it develops each day.  Watch over us this week, give us an ear to Your whisper, a heart to respond and may Love always be our guide.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 42:1-9 The Servants Heart

"Who gives breath to its people and spirit to those who walk on it: I, the LORD, have called you for justice, I have grasped you by the hand; I formed you, and set you as a covenant for the people, a light for the nations, To open the eyes of the blind, to bring out prisoners from confinement, and from the dungeon, those who live in darkness. I am the LORD, LORD is my name; my glory I give to no other, nor my praise to idols."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭42:5c-8‬

Isaiah 42:1-9  The Servants Heart.  Greater is He that is me than he that is in the world.  1 John 4:4b.  God formed Adam and we were made in His image and likeness.  He gives us free will to choose His Spirit and we get to choose, do we believe in what God tells us.  Do we live in harmony with Him and choose life.  We are not promised tomorrow, I am nothing on my own just a spec of dust but with Jesus in my heart, I am the son of The King, brother to the Heir of the Throne.  It is He that teaches me, it is He that gives me strength, He is my hope and He lives within.  Without Him, we become lost, trapped in a world of nothingness which reveals itself over time.  Our hearts know the truth and seek it out.  Receive the Risen Lord, I do at every mass, the mystery of our Catholic Faith.

What is God saying to me: Faith, the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen.

Dear Father, there is joy in knowing You, In contemplating Your word and chewing on it in our spirit.  Thank You for Your friendship and our continued growth together, You do not overwhelm the spirit but give the proper amount.  Prayers for a family that lost a son, a grandson, a father, a brother, a cousin unexpectedly.  Be with them Lord and comfort the family in their hour of need.  Bless this day Father, thank You for the rest as we get ready for the week ahead, Amen.

Isaiah 41 - Draw Near

"But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, offspring of Abraham my friend— You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth and summoned from its far-off places, To whom I have said, You are my servant; I chose you, I have not rejected you— Do not fear: I am with you; do not be anxious: I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.  Isaiah‬ ‭41:8-10

Isaiah 41 - Draw Near.  You are chosen, have you realized that yet?  The drawing near to God is God calling out to you.  Your heart yearns for truth and God grants the desires of our heart.  There is purpose in all that is going on in your life for today you are listening, His words resonate in your spirit and you know that all is well.  Continue the journey, do not concern yourself with tomorrow, this is the day the Lord has given you, tomorrow will take care of itself.  You are chosen and you are responding, there is purpose in what is going on.

What is God saying to me:  Do not lean on your own understanding but upon every word from My mouth.  There is purpose that you are unaware of.

Dear Father, I see You at work, I feel You at work, I do not know what tomorrow holds but I know there is purpose in what You are doing now.  My heart is being drawn ever more to You, I see the attacks and I remain vigilant in my response.  I am Your servant Lord and I am trusting in where we are heading.  Thank You for the silence and the simplicity of the morning, it is a great place to begin each day.  Prayers for a young lady that is special but facing some big decisions, give her the grace to listen to Your voice, You have the words of eternal life and all need to hear them.  Bless this morning and this day as we continue moving forward.  In Jesus name, amen.

Isaiah 40:12-30 God Almighty - The Holy One

"Is mulberry wood the offering? A skilled artisan picks out a wood that will not rot, Seeks to set up for himself an idol that will not totter.

To whom can you liken me as an equal? says the Holy One."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭40:20, 25‬

Isaiah 40:12-31  God Almighty - The Holy One. Examine your heart, that is God's message this morning.  Some have this false understanding of what an idol is.  An idol is anything that we worship above God and, there isn't anything above God.  Do you know God's heart?  Do you sit before the King and visit?  Do you entrust Him with your plans, your day, your struggles, your Joy.  Is pride your idol, you know better for you are king of your little world not realizing it is leading you to destruction.  Many have gone before us and have tried all the schemes of the devil, it wasn't until they developed a relationship with their Father in Heaven did it all come into perspective.  Examine your heart and answer this question, is your relationship with the Creator of Universe growing day after day.

What is God saying to me:  I Am listening and so are you.  When you entrust your life to me I am like a good Father giving the best for His children.

Dear Father, there are many worshipping the false idol of this world, who have eaten the apple and are liken a god in their feeble way of thinking.  You know my plea Lord, You hear me asking for them to be set free from the bondage they have placed themselves in due to lack of understanding.  Awaken their spirits to the Joy only You can give.  Thank You Lord for the beauty of this day, thank You Father for making all things right when I place my trust in You.  You only give the best gifts and I am growing in that understanding.  Bless this day and bless Your servants with the desires of their hearts for it is the same as Yours.  Prayers for a friend experiencing loss, heal the loss that is being felt.  I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Isaiah 40:1-11 Our Reward

"Comfort, give comfort to my people, says your God.

The grass withers, the flower wilts, but the word of our God stands forever."

Here comes with power the Lord GOD, who rules by his strong arm; Here is his reward with him, his recompense before him."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭40:1, 8, 10‬

Isaiah 40:1-11  Our Reward.  It was the Word of God who gave Adam life.  "then the LORD God formed the man out of the dust of the ground and blew into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being." ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭2:7‬ ‭ For a brief period of time humanity lived with a glorified body but being made in the image and likeness of God and not understanding His will we entered into sin and this vale of tears.  Our reward is His perfect image of us.  Jesus revealed it after His resurrection but first He had to die, He had to live as we do and prepare the way.  What awaits us is a glorified body, our earthly bodies will return to dust but our glorified bodies will live forever.  The choices you make each day leads you through this vale of tears.  Keep your eye on the prize, recognize the attack and do not fall asleep and become captivated by the world.  "The grass withers, the flower wilts, but the word of our God stands forever." Go up onto a high mountain, Zion, herald of good news! Cry out at the top of your voice, Jerusalem, herald of good news! Cry out, do not fear! Say to the cities of Judah: Here is your God!"  Isaiah‬ ‭40:8-9‬

What is God saying to me:  I am with you, you are not alone, keep walking.

Dear Lord God, I am thankful for our friendship, for the quiet whisper and the understanding touch.  You have lived this life and have dealt with all of our situations, You give us strength in our times of need.  Thank You for the lesson that has been unfolding this week.  Prayers for a couple getting married today, may their sacramental vows being made in Your presence carry them on the journey.  Prayers for a friend in the valley, lift them up Lord and give them the beatified vision of Your glory.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 39 Plundered

"At that time Merodach-baladan, son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and gifts to Hezekiah, when he heard that he had been sick and had recovered. Hezekiah was pleased at their coming, and then showed the messengers his treasury, the silver and gold, the spices and perfumed oil, his whole armory, and everything in his storerooms; there was nothing in his house or in all his realm that Hezekiah did not show them.

He asked, "What did they see in your house?" Hezekiah answered, "They saw everything in my house. There is nothing in my storerooms that I did not show them." Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, "Hear the word of the LORD of hosts: The time is coming when all that is in your house, everything that your ancestors have stored up until this day, shall be carried off to Babylon; nothing shall be left, says the LORD."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭39:1-2, 4-6‬

Isaiah 39  Plundered.  You just received a new lease on life, everything is great and then you invite the enemy in and show him around.  This happens on a regular bases, we feel good, looking forward to the future and our guard is down.  The enemy knows when to attack and how, looks innocent enough bearing gifts.  The new life you have just been given is taken from you and you are not even aware of it happening.  Guard your house, have Jesus at the door and watching over you.  Daily prayer, spiritual reading, attending mass, inviting God into your decisions, this is how you guard against Spiritual attacks.  "A thief comes only to steal and slaughter and destroy; I came so that they might have life and have it more abundantly."  ‭‭John‬ ‭10:10‬  The Gospels are alive in each of our lives, live life in abundance with Jesus on the inside not on the outside trying to get back in again.

What is God saying to me:  I Am God, there is no other.

Dear Father, I thank You for keeping the key yo my store room, You are the keeper of my soul and I entrust my life to You.  You are God and You are doing mighty things in our midst, help us slow down and appreciate the goodness of life, the moments of conversation with friends to share what gives us joy.  Help us sow the Good seed that brings others new life and reveals Your covenant plan for each of us.  Prayers for Your Divine will to reign in our hearts and joy to be on our lips.  You are the Peace that I seek.  I ask this through Jesus Christ, Amen.

Isaiah 38:9-21 Breathe

"The living, the living give you thanks, as I do today. Parents declare to their children, O God, your faithfulness. The LORD is there to save us. We shall play our music In the house of the LORD all the days of our life."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭38:19-20‬

Isaiah 38:9-21  Breathe  Do you treasure life, the very breathe that goes into you and gives you life?  We can take life for granted, we can forget about the simple things and not recognize how God breathes life into our days.  King Hezekiah was to die in the noontime of life and was given new life.  Did his outlook change?  Did he slow down and feel the breathe going in and out of his lungs.  Did he appreciate a new day and was he thankful for what he had?  Do we have to face death to appreciate the gifts God gives us, the greatest of these is the breathe in our lungs.  Appreciate life, there are people dying today who will not see tomorrow, give thanks for the little or the lot.  Be grateful for joy or the burden, these are all opportunities to worship our Creator.

What is God saying to me: Know that I Am with you, you are not alone on this journey and each day is to be treasured, you are not promised tomorrow, live this day as if it were your last.

Dear Father God, I feel Your breathe wash over me and give me life.  I am thankful for this day and its opportunities that will bring You glory.  You have answered prayer in many wonderful ways, may I never take life for granted.  May I appreciate all that I face, even the challenges for it is in this that You are refining gold and silver.  Prayers for a young man going out in the noontime of his life, thank You Father for knowing who he is and watching him grow.  May You fulfill the will for his life and bring peace upon his family.   Bless this day Lord, help me witness the simplicity of life and appreciate every breathe that You give. Amen.

Isaiah 38:1-8 Turn back Time

"See, I will make the shadow cast by the sun on the stairway to the terrace of Ahaz go back the ten steps it has advanced. So the sun came back the ten steps it had advanced. Hezekiah's Hymn of Thanksgiving."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭38:8‬

Isaiah 38:1-8  Turn back Time.  How would you respond if you were told your death was near?  King Hezekiah prayed to God but did not plea for his life, he reminded God of their covenant relationship.  ""Ah, LORD, remember how faithfully and wholeheartedly I conducted myself in your presence, doing what was good in your sight!" And Hezekiah wept bitterly."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭38:3‬  God loves those who love Him.  It is our covenant relationship that turns back time, when we listen and respond to God with our lives, this is what prolongs our life.  "My son, do not forget my teaching, take to heart my commands; For many days, and years of life, and peace, will they bring you."  ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:1-2‬  We can easily forget the importance of loving God in our lives with prayer in action.  Hezekiah wasn't fearful, he wasn't worried because he knew God and loved him with his life.  It is never too late to begin, to sit and listen to God.  I guarantee life will come at you but it is not to be feared when you and God are one.  He wants what you want when you live together as one.  "Can any of you by worrying add a single moment to your life-span?"  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:27‬  God isn't worried why should you be, trust in Him!

What is God saying to me:  Covenant union is special, I Am always present, are you?

Dear Father, You call us to live holy lives, to share our joy and peace in our daily actions.  To always do Your will, not to prolong our lives but to give back what we have been given.  I thank You Father for the peace that You give when we trust in You.  Prayers for families seeking to add years to relationships, grant their prayers Lord, help them see the Joy of living with You and not blind to You.  Watch over us this day, keep us safe, may we never forget to give thanks for all the blessings that are available to us.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 37 The Power of Prayer

"Hezekiah prayed to the LORD: "LORD of hosts, God of Israel, enthroned on the cherubim! You alone are God over all the kingdoms of the earth. It is you who made the heavens and the earth. Incline your ear, LORD, and listen! open your eyes, LORD, and see! Hear all the words Sennacherib has sent to taunt the living God. Truly, O LORD, the kings of Assyria have laid waste the nations and their lands."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭37:15-18‬

Isaiah 37  The Power of Prayer.  Hezekiah knew what needed to be done in his time of need.  The reports were not good, the god's of the world were on the attack, there was fear and anguish on what to do.  Prayer is always the answer, leaning not on your own understanding but on God.   Those same god's are still on the attack, look at those who worship the god's of this world and the messages their are saying.  They work at blaspheming the Lord God Almighty and how He is insignificant in this time.  What is the answer?  Prayer is always the answer!  The accounts of on old are in our sight, we see them happening before our eyes, Altars are being removed, God is being denied and people are being told to trust in the world.  The answer lies in ancient scrolls, turn to the Lord and praise our Creator.

What is God saying to me:  Trust in Me, incline your ear to Me and I will renew the face of the earth.

Dear Father God, these times are not new, they are just a repeat of a similar event when your people turn their back on You.  Lord I know that You hear our prayers and I know that all is well.  Thank You for the victories in our lives when we turn to You and listen, when we make You the King that we follow.  My prayer Lord is that more and more people recognize the depth of Your love and the story that is repeating itself.  You will not lose one that turns to You.  I thank You Father for drawing Your family home, I thank You for this special day and for another child of God to receive the Sacrament of Baptism.  There is purpose in the gifts that You have given to the Church, we receive graces when we honor You.  May I honor You with my Life for nothing else is worthy of Your love, Amen

Isaiah 36 Stand Firm

"Then the commander stepped forward and cried out in a loud voice in the language of Judah, "Listen to the words of the great king, the king of Assyria. Thus says the king: Do not let Hezekiah deceive you, for he cannot rescue you. And do not let Hezekiah induce you to trust in the LORD, saying, 'The LORD will surely rescue us, and this city will not be handed over to the king of Assyria.'"  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭36:13-15‬

Isaiah 36  Stand Firm.  King Hezekiah was facing insurmountable odds, it looked physically impossible for him to defeat this attack.  The words of his enemy produced fear in his messengers, what did the king do?  He turned to God and stood firm.  Read 2 Kings 19:9-37 to see how it turned out.  We face insurmountable odds during life, how have we handled them?  Have we given into fear and acceptance or have we turned it over to God.  God will fight for you, He will listen and if you stand firm, you will see victory.  Heaven is the prize so always stand firm upon His word.  The accounts in the Bible are there for a purpose, to reveal truth to those that will listen.

What is God saying to me:

Dear Lord God, we build faith when we listen, stand firm and allow You to reveal the plans You have for us.  Help us stand firm Lord, to ignore our own human desire to be in control and know all the details.  You are Mighty God, You are Holy God, You are King and I belong to You, I am Your Son.  Thank You Father for making scripture come alive in my life, for allowing me to see.  Prayers for a young couple getting married today who faced the army and stood firm, today is their victory.  Bless their marriage with the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony for You are present.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 35 The Way

"The wilderness and the parched land will exult; the Arabah will rejoice and bloom; Like the crocus it shall bloom abundantly, and rejoice with joyful song. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the splendor of Carmel and Sharon; They will see the glory of the LORD, the splendor of our God. Strengthen hands that are feeble, make firm knees that are weak,".  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭35:1-3‬

Isaiah 35  The Way.  Have you reached the desert yet on The Way?  You will as you are being faithful to the call of our Father.  It is a dry and weary, parched land that will surround you.  You can see the other side yet with each step you face resistance, you face blowing sand and quenching sun.  Your heart draws you forward as you do the next thing that God asks of you.  The wilderness will come alive and see the glory of the Lord, it is your actions that the lifeless are needing to see.  It is that cup of water that you bring that encourages others to get up and move forward.  "A highway will be there, called the holy way; No one unclean may pass over it, but it will be for his people; no traveler, not even fools, shall go astray on it."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭35:8‬  Stop watching and get on The Way, read scripture with purpose.

What is God saying to me:  Rejoice and be glad, The Way comes alive when you are living it, the wind only blows for a little while.
Dear Heavenly Father, it is a vast waste land and I am but a spec of sand secured by Your love for a purpose.  You know my heart like no other and You know what drives me, it is not for vain glory but for ever lasting joy.  Burst forth in the desert Lord, quench the thirst of those who are weary, give hope to the hopeless, awaken the senses of those that are lost and stumbling around.  Thank You Father for answered prayers, for Your loving kindness to show.  Prayers for a friend dealing with a darkness that is disturbing his peace, You know what he needs.  Bless this day Lord and this morning as we continue to sit at Your feet, Amen.

Isaiah 34 Body and Spirit

"Come near, nations, and listen; be attentive, you peoples! Let the earth and what fills it listen, the world and all it produces. The LORD is angry with all the nations, enraged against all their host; He has placed them under the ban, given them up to slaughter. Their slain shall be cast out, their corpses shall send up a stench; the mountains shall run with their blood, All the host of heaven shall rot; the heavens shall be rolled up like a scroll. All their host shall wither away, as the leaf wilts on the vine, or as the fig withers on the tree.

It is he who casts the lot for them; his hand measures off their portions; They shall possess it forever, and dwell in it from generation to generation."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭34:1-4, 17‬

Isaiah 34  Body and Spirit.  We are made up of body and spirit, physically we are alive and spiritually we are _____________.  From God's viewpoint, He sees the stench rising up, and fruit of the vine wither because of their spiritual dying.  Isaiah spoke of the judgement against Edom because of their thwarting the way of the Israelites and bringing in their false religion.  God watched all that happen, Isaiah spoke of it and today God still watches that happen.  Yet there is hope,  for He sent His Son to pay the price of our transgressions.  Wake up and come alive dead bones, stop stinking the place up.   Recognize the gift that He has given you and live in His presence, fully alive.

What is God saying to me:  The purity of a child speaks volumes, become like a little child and see.

Dear Father God, I thank You for speaking with me this morning and responding when I asked for help.  There is simplicity in prayer when we are real with You.  Thank You Father for these challenges, I may not want them but You recognize I need them.  Prayers for a father being operated upon this morning, remove the tumor Lord and bring them the Joy their hearts desire.  Bless this day Lord, make our efforts fruitful as we are being fed by You, in Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 33 Holiness

"In Zion sinners are in dread, trembling grips the impious: "Who of us can live with consuming fire? who of us can live with everlasting flames?" Whoever walks righteously and speaks honestly, who spurns what is gained by oppression, Who waves off contact with a bribe, who stops his ears so as not to hear of bloodshed, who closes his eyes so as not to look on evil— That one shall dwell on the heights, with fortresses of rock for stronghold, food and drink in steady supply."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭33:14-16‬

Isaiah 33  Holiness.   We are each called to Holiness, to live our life's with one purpose and that is to get to Heaven.  We live in a waste land and all around us is emptiness yet our focus is on God.  Isaiah 33 speaks of the wayward child that develops a fear of the Lord, who only finds peace in the temple of God.

What is God saying to me:  I know the way, follow me.

Dear Lord God, I thank You for this day and for the knowledge of who You are what you are doing in my life.  I am not lost in this world unaware of my surroundings, You are my guiding light.  Prayers for those whose ears are being tickled, who are comfortable in the waste land.  Raise up holy men and women with stead fast focus and purpose to praise You with their lives.  Father, You know the way, help me be super sensitive to the promptings of Your Holy Spirit.   I ask this through Jesus Christ, our Redeemer, Amen.

Isaiah 32:8-24 Complacent

"Tremble, you who are so complacent! Shudder, you who are so confident! Strip yourselves bare, with only a loincloth for cover."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭32:11‬

Isaiah 32:8-24  Complacent.  As we move closer to God, what once was comfortable becomes uncomfortable for God is revealing areas of your life that needs addressed.  You are being stripped as His love grows within.  The fact that you are aware of the uncomfort is an indicator of God's love.  Our world has been shaken and it seeks comfort, this comfort that we seek can lull us to sleep and we go back to where we were before.   Recognize God in your life, seek the uncomfortable, challenge yourself to grow and allow God to reveal His truth to you.  Do not accept the beast of burden but receive new life with Christ each day He gives you.

What is God saying to me:  You will navigate it

Dear Lord God, these days are challenging with all the changes but in these moments You reveal areas of our life that are in need of repair.  You sound Your bell so that our senses may be awakened to the reality of a life with You.  Prayers for a mother with a sick child, set her heart at ease as she reaches for you.  Thank You Father for another day to do Your will, I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 32:1-7 God’s Kingship

"See, a king will reign justly and princes will rule rightly. Each of them will be like a shelter from the wind, a refuge from the rain. They will be like streams of water in a dry country, like the shade of a great rock in a parched land. The eyes of those who see will not be closed; the ears of those who hear will be attentive."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭32:1-3‬

Isaiah 32:1-7  God's Kingship.   Who is your King?  Looking back in time and there are many kingdoms, mankind has been built upon kingdoms.  But in God's word there is but One True King.  When we recognize who is our King, we become rightful Aires to the throne.  Your life becomes less complicated and you are no longer living for self but the Master of the Vineyard being obedient to Him.  Learn to recognize His voice, for if we don't, just like in today's Gospel reading God tells us: "Therefore, I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people that will produce its fruit."  Matthew‬ ‭21:43‬  Be obedient to God's will and build His Kingdom and not yours.

What is God saying to me:

Dear Father, I hear You speaking to my heart, I see the fruit that is being produced and I am willingly following, You are my King, I want no other.  You have the words to eternal life and we are growing together.  There are many doors in Your Kingdom Lord, if we are obedient to Your will, there awaits many graces as we listen.  Prayers for family and friends listening, increase our faith and produce the fruit that brings about the sweetness of eternal life.  I ask this in Jesus's name, Amen.

Isaiah 31 - The Spirit of Truth

"Like hovering birds, so the LORD of hosts shall shield Jerusalem, To shield and deliver, to spare and rescue. Return, O Israelites, to him whom you have utterly deserted."  Isaiah‬ ‭31:5-6‬

Isaiah 31 - The Spirit of Truth.  We like to be able to touch and see, to know in a human sense.  God on the other hand doesn't operate that way.  "He said in reply, "It is written: 'One does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God.' ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭4:4‬  When we place our trust outside of God, the thing or person we place our trust in will fail us.  God speaks truth to us in His word.  He is my shield, He will deliver me.  I am to take the gifts and talents that are given by Him and trust in Him.  "for we walk by faith, not by sight."
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:7‬  That is the charge each of us has to put aside the THINGS that bring us peace and turn to God.  It is a spiritual walk, one day at a time, you can do it.

What is God saying to me:  I do this to help you learn, not by sight but by faith are you to live.

Dear Lord, You know how You stir my heart, it is like I am blind but yet I see.  Continue to build trust within my steps, it is You that satisfies my soul and brings peace into my spirit.  Thank You for great memories, for the counsel of friends and family that You speak through at times.  Thank You for reaching the lost and opening up doors for a deeper relationship.  Father, watch over us this day, guide our steps and protect us from evil, You have the words of everlasting life that we all desire.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 30:27-33 The fury of God

"See, the name of the LORD is coming from afar, burning with anger, heavy with threat, His lips filled with fury, tongue like a consuming fire, Breath like an overflowing torrent that reaches up to the neck! He will winnow the nations with a destructive winnowing and bridle the jaws of the peoples to send them astray. For you, there will be singing as on a night when a feast is observed, And joy of heart as when one marches along with a flute Going to the mountain of the LORD, to the Rock of Israel."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭30:27-29‬

Isaiah 30:27-33  The fury of God.  How do you reconcile the anger of God when you walk with Him each day, when you know Him and love Him.  Yet He tells us that He will come burning with anger.  The spiritual battle will end one day when God will say enough.  Those who choose life will be filled with joy and those who choose death will be consumed with death.  Why would someone choose that darkness, that I can not comprehend.   When God is your rock, you are on top and if God is a fable or fictional, you will be under it.  Either way we will all know the reality of God.  Choose life, this is God's heart.

What is God saying to me:

Dear Father, it is hard to understand how our own free will get lead us away from truth.  Yet in Your word, there is example after example of what happens when we turn our back on You.  I enjoy marching to the Rock of Israel, it brings peace and joy.  Prayers for this day and what You have prepared for us.  Prayers for those walking in darkness, may the heat make them turn around.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 30:18-26 Living the Word of God

"Yes, people of Zion, dwelling in Jerusalem, you shall no longer weep; He will be most gracious to you when you cry out; as soon as he hears he will answer you. The Lord will give you bread in adversity and water in affliction. No longer will your Teacher hide himself, but with your own eyes you shall see your Teacher, And your ears shall hear a word behind you: "This is the way; walk in it," when you would turn to the right or the left."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭30:19-21‬

Isaiah 30:17-24  Living the Word of God.  You have to experience something to truly understand it.  When we read God's word it is sharper than any two edged sword and He speaks to you.  I recall crying out, I recall crawling and walking in His truth.  When we attune ourselves to listening, your life comes alive.  There is peace and the way is bright, You trust in His guidance and He takes care of all your needs.  Have you cried out?  The view from the other side is amazing, the life that you live is amazing.  Just like Jesus, you will face adversity, you will face challenges but in that daily walk with God and living in the moment, God lights the way and over time you learn to trust.  Be blessed today and cry out if you haven't already done so.

What is God saying to me: My way is much better isn't it, now you can see how I work in your life when you let me.

Dear Father, I love Your vision, I do not see the picture You are painting all at once but over time it comes together.  Thank you Father for feeding me the Bread of Life daily and most especially at Mass.  when we live Your life it is a life worth living.  Prayers for plans to come together, to not get over anxious and get beyond Your voice.  Thank You Father for responding when I called, just like Your Word, You are true to it.  Prayers for those that have not called out or have not spent time with you daily and are not listening.  Prayers for a friend in need, answer his prayer Father as he walks in faith. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever, Amen.
