Week 5 - The Kingdom of Christ, The Word became flesh Day 7

Week 5 - The Kingdom of Christ, The Word became flesh Day 6

"MORNING FACE TO FACE WITH GOD:

Begin with Prayer to the Holy Spirit APPLICATION OF THE SENSES: #121-126

Read the Reflection; then apply your senses to those points in the two repetitions where you experienced consolation or desolation, or greater spiritual appreciation. Ask for an intimate knowledge of our Lord, who has become man for me, that I may love Him more and follow Him more closely (#104)

#121 tells us that this method of prayer "will consist in applying the five senses to the matter" at hand.

#122 asks you to see in imagination the persons, contemplating in detail their circumstances and then drawing some fruit from what has been seen.

#123 asks you to hear what they are saying or might say, and by reflecting on oneself to draw some profit.

#124 asks you to smell the infinite fragrance, and taste the infinite sweetness of the divinity present in the mystery being contemplated.

#125 asks you to apply the sense of touch, for example, by embracing and kissing the place where the persons stand or are seated.

#126 asks you to end with a colloquy."  Taken from Mold Me as Your Disciple, Lord by Michael Fonseca

I spent time this morning with our Blessed Mother, in her pondering of the events that were unfolding around her.  I also spent time with Jesus during His birth and seeing the battle that He was entering.  Seeing the sin that was being conquered because of His sacrifice.  I watched as Jesus played and laughed as a little boy as Mary was sweeping and seeing family life and the joy it brings.  I also, once again spent time at the crucifixion of Christ and witnessed the strength of Christ within Mary.  There is a connection there between the two, they both understood what is at stake.  The Divinity at His birth was fully prepared for what lay ahead, even to this day and tomorrow.  There was a joy of knowing He was entering the world and there was a sadness in knowing not everyone would come to chose to understand.

What is God saying to you?  I see the battle and we know the outcome.  Your time is best spent in the details of the day.  Pondering upon tomorrow or others choices only slow you down.  Take each moment as a gift and when asked to respond do what you know to do.  Jesus lived in each moment, being thankful and allowing all He met to make their own choices even though He grieved deeply when the choice was sin.

Dear Father, You give us an amazing world full of mystery and joy, each day is a gift from You.  I thank You God for this life, I thank You for spending time with life and death of Your Son, I know there is no resurrection without pain.  You know my unspoken prayers this morning and what we desire, You are God and only You can reach those wandering in the desert.  Thank You Father for Mana from Heaven that feeds us, may all come to know Truth.  Prayers for a friend who is watching a family member pass from this world into the next, like Jesus, may Mother Mary be by his side to comfort Him.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Mother of Hope, Pray for us.
St Joesph, Most Strong, Pray for us.
