Week 46 - The Journey with Mary Magadalene

Week 46 - The Journey with Mary Magadalene

"Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary of Magdala. When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, "Woman, behold, your son." Then he said to the disciple, "Behold, your mother." And from that hour the disciple took her into his home."  ‭‭John‬ ‭19:25-27‬

Committed.  The Son of God, the Messiah, has taken His last breath.  There is a thickness to the air and an eeriness to what has transpired.  A complete sense of loneliness takes over, almost a darkness.  The man who had cast out seven demons from Mary, is no more.  Her life had taken on new meaning with a purpose now the purpose appears to be gone.   She looks at John, the beloved and Mary, she feels their pain, their complete loss.

Grief is a bitter pill, everything changes and we are left wondering, now what.  Little did Mary realize that in three days, her joy would return.  Her life would continue and she would have purpose again.  We all experience these emotions and in time, we recognize that God hasn't left us, He hasn't abandoned us, He has transformed us thru the pain that we experience.

Each day becomes better, the journey is never easy but we are given blessings when we focus on the One who saves.  Hang in there and trust in Jesus who died so we may live.

What is God saying to me?  I will never abandon you even in the pain.  Trust in My Divine will.

Dear Father, I sit in the darkness feeling nothing yet knowing You are there.  Each day we are given is a blessing, an opportunity to live for You and to accomplish Your will.  In our moments of grief, in our suffering, may we not forget that You gave Him to us so we might live.  Prayers for a friend struggling with a life that is feeling the pain of loss, help them through their moment of darkness and bring about new life that heals.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Week 45 - The Journey with Deacon Philip

Week 45 - The Journey with Deacon Philip

"Now those who had been scattered went about preaching the word. Thus Philip went down to [the] city of Samaria and proclaimed the Messiah to them. With one accord, the crowds paid attention to what was said by Philip when they heard it and saw the signs he was doing. For unclean spirits, crying out in a loud voice, came out of many possessed people, and many paralyzed and crippled people were cured. There was great joy in that city. Simon the Magician."  Acts‬ ‭8:4-8‬

A life of service.   Philip was given a gift one that changed his life, he is committed to the Messiah.  Committed to the point of death, you see, Philip was one of the seven deacons (Acts 6:5) in the early church.  Stephen, was killed for his preaching by Saul yet Philip knew the power of God in his own life.

His words had meaning for he had lived the life of the people he was preaching too.  His heart was filled with Joy and he was called to go and preach the good news.

When Jesus enters in, He cleans house.  All Jesus has is words but let's not forget words have power.  Power to build up and transforms lives.  "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."  ‭‭John‬ ‭1:1‬   We see the power of Jesus through Philips word, Jesus is cleaning house.  If we are living a life of sin, do we hear God knock through the words of another   ‭"The law entered in so that transgression might increase but, where sin increased, grace overflowed all the more,". ‭‭Romans‬ ‭5:20‬.  Be transformed by the Word of God.  Be scattered.

What is God saying to me?  I will show you more today but you do not go alone.  My voice is not always recognized, like Samuel some do not always recognize when I call.  But like you, I see the truth within a soul and I see the Joy that will come with time.

Dear Father, once again You take me on a journey and reveal what lies within.  I see the scourging at the pillar and it is not easy to watch as You take a beating for sin.  It is this sin that You gave Your life for, I will go where You take me.  Prayers for someone caught in the vice of drugs, blinded to the beauty of life.  He is in your hands Lord and You are always victorious.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Week 45 - The Journey with Zacchaeus

Week 45 - The Journey with Zacchaeus

"But Zacchaeus stood there and said to the Lord, "Behold, half of my possessions, Lord, I shall give to the poor, and if I have extorted anything from anyone I shall repay it four times over." And Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house because this man too is a descendant of Abraham. For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save what was lost." ‭‭Luke‬ ‭19:8-10‬

Lost.  Zacchaeus was a pariah amongst his own people.  He had taken the job of being a tax collector.  The pay was great, he didn't see any problems with doing it and it was his desire to have importance.  In the life that he chose, he didn't think about the people he would step on, the ones he would hurt, the ones who couldn't afford the tax.  But the Roman's didn't care, it was his job to do.

A restless heart helps us see the truth.  Zacchaeus had been hearing about Jesus and wanted to know what others had been talking about.  He was lost in a world he didn't belong too.  He wasn't accepted as a Roman, he wasn't accepted as a Jew.  So he seeks out Jesus, the one who saves.

Jesus welcomes him with open arms.  Calls him down from his lofty place and gives him what he has been longing for.  "As the deer longs for streams of water, so my soul longs for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, the living God. When can I enter and see the face of God?"  Psalms‬ ‭42:2-3‬.  Zacchaeus has been longing for what satisfies the heart, today he has found it and willing gives it to Jesus.  The journey of life takes us on a trip, the destination is God.  Have you figured that out yet?

What is God saying to me?

Dear Father, I see what You see, at times not clearly and at other times very clearly.  I thank You Father for the journey we are on, in the morning in the quiet of the dark, You speak and I respond.  You know my prayers and my thoughts, like Zacchaeus, I offer myself to You and am a willing participant on this journey.  Use me Lord these coming days as a faithful servant.  Bless this day and encourage the lost and lonely to seek Your Son Jesus out.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Week 45 - The Journey with the Centurion.

Week 45 - The Journey with the Centurion.

"And Jesus went with them, but when he was only a short distance from the house, the centurion sent friends to tell him, "Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you enter under my roof. Therefore, I did not consider myself worthy to come to you; but say the word and let my servant be healed. For I too am a person subject to authority, with soldiers subject to me. And I say to one, 'Go,' and he goes; and to another, 'Come here,' and he comes; and to my slave, 'Do this,' and he does it." When Jesus heard this he was amazed at him and, turning, said to the crowd following him, "I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such faith." When the messengers returned to the house, they found the slave in good health."  ‭‭Luke‬ ‭7:6-10‬

The power of God.  Jesus is amazed at his faith, in the words the centurion sends to Jesus is a full story.  In calling Jesus "Lord", he is submitting himself to Jesus.  A centurion was loyal to Caesar and no one else, in this one word he tells all.  The centurion is concerned for his slave, he has compassion on the people he is meant to rule, in fact he has become friends with the Jewish elders.  He gives them authority to act on his behalf not something a centurion would do especially to send them to Jesus.  Jesus is his Lord.

"I too am subject to authority", the power of God has impacted this man's life.  His mission has changed where now he is doing the will of God.  And Jesus is the answer not Caesar.   Do we see the power of God at work.  Do we submit ourselves to God and trust He will respond.  This is the faith Jesus speaks about.  In all our circumstances, it is God that makes all things right.  We can learn from a humble man asking for help and witnessing the outcome.  Have a blessed day.

What is God saying to me?  Give it time.

Dear Lord, I see a lot of sick people under the rule of Caesar only in different ways.  Your Son is the answer that needs to be heard.  Help us humble ourselves like the Centurion and become the difference that changes lives through Your power.  Watch over us this day, prayers for a friend in need of healing, I humbly place them in Your hands.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Week 45 - The Journey Anna the prophetess.

Week 45 - The Journey Anna the prophetess.

"There was also a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years, having lived seven years with her husband after her marriage, and then as a widow until she was eighty-four. She never left the temple, but worshiped night and day with fasting and prayer. And coming forward at that very time, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were awaiting the redemption of Jerusalem."  ‭‭Luke‬ ‭2:36-38‬

The Inner Temple.   I sit with Anna in the temple, surrounded by the presence of God.  I see a woman who lives for God and with God.  She is kept within this inner sanctuary in complete contentment.  Her days are filled with what God provides.  The Holy Family enters in and her joy explodes within.  Her greatest gift has come in the flesh to be praised in person.  They gaze upon each other, her and the child Jesus, her prayers are being answered.

The temple shuts out the distractions, the life within it, is perfect.  "Do you not know that your body is a temple of the holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been purchased at a price. Therefore glorify God in your body."  1 Corinthians‬ ‭6:19-20‬.  The temple I speak of is found within, we can live there as Ana did, in complete peace, filled with joy as the world rushes by.   The door to the temple is entered through in prayer with scripture and the key is time.   Have a blessed day!

What God said:"it will all work out, trust in Me and come out of the cold."

Dear Father, I experienced Anna's heart this morning, her place where she lives.  You amaze me in the simplest of ways.  I have lots of prayers Lord and every one of them, You are making them right.  I thank You Father for the inner Sanctuary, if it is ok with You, I will stay within Your walls today but I will need Your help for I am weak.  Happy Feast of the Annunciation Father, the moment in time when You revealed Truth within Mary with her Yes.  Bless this day, in Jesus name, Amen.

Week 44 - The Journey with Nicodemus

Week 44 - The Journey with Nicodemus

"Nicodemus, the one who had first come to him at night, also came bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes weighing about one hundred pounds. They took the body of Jesus and bound it with burial cloths along with the spices, according to the Jewish burial custom. Now in the place where he had been crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb, in which no one had yet been buried. So they laid Jesus there because of the Jewish preparation day; for the tomb was close by."  ‭‭John‬ ‭19:39-42‬

Reborn.  Jesus has been crucified, hanging on the cross, condemned to death for our sins.  Nicodemus had been secretly meeting with Jesus who was unjustly punished and killed because He stood in the way of power and threatened the evil that had control of them.

We have witnessed the journey of Nicodemus, a closet disciple of Jesus.  Meeting with Him in the dark of night for fear of being seen.  Fear of being called a disciple of Jesus, one of His followers.  As Nicodemus looks upon the cross he hears the words Jesus spoke to him.  "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life."  ‭‭John‬ ‭3:16‬

Is this how the Son of God is to be treated?  NO.  Nicodemus and Joesph of Armathea move out of the safety of the darkness and proclaim who is King.  They give Jesus a proper burial, one fit for a King.   Nicodemus is living his faith in full view and willing accepts his fate, knowing this is the life he is suppose to live.  He is reborn, his actions speak to that.

Are you a closet disciple?  Is Jesus still hanging on the cross for fear of being found out?  God clearly tells us to live in the light, be the light that lives within.   Time is passing by, our decisions not only impact us but they impact others.

What is Gid saying to me?

Dear Father, it is a new day with new insights.  Each day we live with You we are reborn to the joy of life.  Each day is a new day for we are new again.  Under the tutelage of the Holy Spirit, it is You that transforms us.  It is You that gives us the words of everlasting life.  Thank You Father for this day, for living in the light of Christ.  Prayers for a friend being healed from cancer, help us trust in You as we walk with You.  I ask this in the name of the King of Glory, Pray for us.

Week 44 - The Journey with Nicodemus

Week 44 - The Journey with Nicodemus

"So the guards went to the chief priests and Pharisees, who asked them, "Why did you not bring him?" The guards answered, "Never before has anyone spoken like this one." So the Pharisees answered them, "Have you also been deceived? Have any of the authorities or the Pharisees believed in him? But this crowd, which does not know the law, is accursed." Nicodemus, one of their members who had come to him earlier, said to them, "Does our law condemn a person before it first hears him and finds out what he is doing?" They answered and said to him, "You are not from Galilee also, are you? Look and see that no prophet arises from Galilee.""  ‭‭John‬ ‭7:45-52‬

Committed.  Nicodemus could no longer sit and listen to these lies, he takes a stance knowing that he stands in opposition to the consensus of the group.   Nicodemus knows Jesus, he has experienced the living God and has taken the time to know Him.  Some within the group feel as Nicodemus does but go along to get along.    The guards as well have felt the power of God in their lives, they can not act upon their orders.

"You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor."  ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭20:16‬.  The Sanhedrin speaks falsehood against Jesus for He challenges their power and has become a threat to their world view.  Nicodemus comes to Jesus defense, taking a stance for truth, this is what he knows and what he believes.

Take the time to get to know the Living God, the same person Nicodemus spent time with.  Each of us in our life times will be asked to take a stance.  Will we be like Nicodemus and put our faith on the line.  Will we commit to being a follower of Jesus openly in a world opposed to His teachings.

What is God saying to me?

Dear Father, You strengthened Nicodemus to take a stance, to speak up to the injustices placed upon Your Son, our Lord.  Each day we are given the opportunity to know Him and to speak up.  You also give us strength to commit.  You tell us to let Your light shine; "Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father."  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:16‬.  May we not miss these opportunities this day.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Week 44 - The Journey with Nicodemus

Week 44 - The Journey with Nicodemus.

"Whoever believes in him will not be condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the verdict, that the light came into the world, but people preferred darkness to light, because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come toward the light, so that his works might not be exposed. But whoever lives the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be clearly seen as done in God."  ‭‭John‬ ‭3:18-21‬

Freedom.  Nicodemus was drawn to Jesus in the comfort of the night as he searched out truth.  Jesus had done nothing to receive the condemnation of the Sanhedrin and Nicodemus knew this.  Jesus knows Truth will penetrate darkness just as the light of Christ will.  He gently encourages Nicodemus with divine insights and allows Nicodemus to be brought into covenant relationship not by force or coerced but by his own free will.

Within each of us is the desire for happiness and, to come and know the Lord Jesus.  In our journey in life God gives us the freedom to chose just as he did Nicodemus.  The words of Jesus penetrate our hearts and we too, sit and reflect upon their meaning to us.  In the light there is true freedom for nothing is hidden from God even if it is done in the dark of night.

"A slave does not remain in a household forever, but a son always remains. So if a son frees you, then you will truly be free."
‭‭John‬ ‭8:35-36‬.  True freedom is found in Jesus by following His example, by sitting at His feet and listening.   Nicodemus chose his freedom in Christ and left the dark of night to shine like the stars as a saint.  We are each saints in the making but it is nothing that we can do but only Christ can do through us.  It is called grace.

What is God saying to me?  The burning bush is available to all, I call everyone out of Egypt, out of the slavery of sin.

Dear Father, there is joy in listening to You within scripture, in the spoken word so You may take root within our hearts.  Nicodemus learned this in the dark of night when life didn't quite make sense until You entered the picture.   Bless this day and all is has offered and what is yet to be revealed.  Watch over us this coming weeks and continue to prepare our hearts for victory in Christ.   I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Week 44 - The Journey with Nicodemus

Week 44 - The Journey with Nicodemus.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him."  ‭‭John‬ ‭3:16-17‬

The Living Word. It is a cool dark evening and we are sitting with Jesus as He conveys the depths of His Fathers love.  Our hearts are burning as He speaks, for from within it is speaking truth to our souls.  Is this the Messiah, how am I to respond to what He is saying.  I ponder these words once again after we leave.  This man is having a profound effect upon me, is He the Messiah?

John 3:16 is a well known scripture, many can repeat it from memory.  How often do I sit with it in the first person and relish  the words Jesus speaks directly to me?  Nicodemus left changed but still did not quite get the depth of this conversation until he looked upon the cross on Good Friday.  Now the words become  life, now he fully comprehended their meaning and his false way of life would change.

The heart had become activated, the burning within continued as he knew that with all his being what his next step would need to be.  The Son of God was no criminal and He deserved a proper burial, would He prove out the rest of the Gospel by rising from the dead, time will tell.  Somehow He knew Jesus would rise from the dead, He would live forever.

Nicodemus put it all on the line and left his former self behind.  The way he was on was only the beginning, if Jesus could suffer for His beliefs then so could he.  We do not adapt the scripture to us, the scripture transforms us into the body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus through it.

What is God saying to me?  Did you feel the breeze as we spoke?  Did you feel your heart burning as My message penetrated the soul.  This is prayer in it truest form, when you go beyond yourself.

Dear Father, it is a blessed day, they are only words but somehow I can feel them.  You see the man and know what he needs to hear to transform the heart.  These moments are real.  Thank You for the gift of this day and the reality you are preparing each of us for.   Prayers for a world determined to kill the Son of God and drown out Your voice.  Help us see what we can not see.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Week 44 - The Journey with Nicodemus

Week 44 - The Journey with Nicodemus

"No one has gone up to heaven except the one who has come down from heaven, the Son of Man. And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.""  ‭‭John‬ ‭3:13-15‬

Seeds of faith.  This is one of my favorite bible verses as the Living Word revealed Himself and He still does.  Nicodemus listened to Jesus intently not fully realizing what He was revealing to him.  He pondered these words as he went about his days trying to grasp their meaning then he encounters Jesus on the cross and eureka.   Truth speaks louder in actions and Jesus reveals Himself to Nicodemus knowing the seeds would take root.

When we sit with the Living Word, Jesus implants within us a thought or a word that we are to ponder.  He has divine purpose in it knowing that in time the truth will be revealed.  Jesus speaks of His divinity with Nicodemus, His full understanding of His nature.  Yes, He is Son of Man and yes, He is God.

The journey is in beginning, in trusting that God will reveal Truth to you.  Whether we understand or not, it is the Living Word of God that penetrates the heart and then eureka.  These moments make an indelible mark within and you are off.  Nicodemus lived out his faith, no longer in the dark, now he was in the light, in full view for all to see.  Eureka!

What is God saying to me?  A little at a time, ponder these words that My truth may grow stronger.

Dear Father, in the stillness You speak louder, the distractions go away and it is just You and I sitting outside of time.  These moments build upon each other for a purpose, You see the seeds growing and rooting within the soul.  Thank You for the eureka moments that continue.  Prayers for all on the Journey, those that are on the Way with a Divine purpose.  Bless this day and all it has to offer.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Week 44 - The Journey with Nicodemus

Week 44 - The Journey with Nicodemus

"Jesus answered and said to him, "Amen, amen, I say to you, no one can see the kingdom of God without being born from above." Nicodemus said to him, "How can a person once grown old be born again? Surely he cannot reenter his mother's womb and be born again, can he?" Jesus answered, "Amen, amen, I say to you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit. What is born of flesh is flesh and what is born of spirit is spirit. Do not be amazed that I told you, 'You must be born from above.'  ‭‭John‬ ‭3:3-7‬

Drawn.  Nicodemus was a learned man, well educated in his understanding of God with head knowledge.  He watches as the group that he belongs too, is persecuting Jesus.  This defies all that he knows for he knows God.  As I sit with them in their conversation, Nicodemus is reconciling his heart with God.  He is in God's presence and he knows it.

Head knowledge serves nothing if we do not have heart knowledge.  Nicodemus is being drawn into his relationship with God, the head is full, the heart is only beginning.   Jesus sees a man filled with desire, one that questions his existence and what he thinks he knows.  Now it is time to teach him, to satisfy the hunger that is within.

Jesus has the words of everlasting life.  Nicodemus sits with the second person of the Trinity.  We as well are offered this opportunity to sit with Jesus.  To reflect upon what is being said and view scripture in life, life that is given from above.  Not everyone is drawn but everyone is called.  Within the heart lies the secret to listening.  Happy St Patricks day, he as well learned to listen to God in the silence of his heart.   ☘️ ☘️ ☘️

What is God saying to me?

Dear Father, there are many blessings that surround us each day to see the gifts of life.  Watch over us this day and draw us closer to you.  Help us un know what hinders us from moving forward.  Thank you for the gift of sitting with You and Nicodemus as y'all sat.  In these moments beyond time You reveal truth that brings about new life.  Bless this day Lord, prayers for family near and far.  Prayers for a friend's father who is experiencing partial paralysis, heal his body.   I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Week 44 - The Journey

Week 44 - The Journey

"After this, Joseph of Arimathea, secretly a disciple of Jesus for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate if he could remove the body of Jesus. And Pilate permitted it. So he came and took his body. Nicodemus, the one who had first come to him at night, also came bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes weighing about one hundred pounds. They took the body of Jesus and bound it with burial cloths along with the spices, according to the Jewish burial custom. So they laid Jesus there because of the Jewish preparation day; for the tomb was close by."  ‭‭John‬ ‭19:38-40, 42‬

From on high.  I witness Joesph of Arimathea and Nicodemus live out their encounter with God.  They recognize that all the gifts they have received were of God.  They were not disputing Jesus, their faith in the coming Messiah had been revealed.  Their was an easy one and the outcome, like their lives, were in God's hands.

To follow Jesus is not a life filled with comfort and an easy way.  We will face hardships. persecutions and clear choices.  God allows us the freedom to listen and respond.  The Way of s revealed each day we are alive, our commitment to Jesus grows to the point where we are ready to forsake all for the Son of God.

Trust in where you are at, listen intently and accept the choices of the past and the ones of this day.  In our relationship with Jesus it is a covenant relationship, He is always committed and like these two saints, we grow into it.  Have a blessed day in the presence of God with the life you are living.

What is God saying to me?  Enjoy the view, from your vantage point you can see the day, from My vantage point, I see beyond tomorrow, with Me all is well.

Dear Father, it is good that we are here, like Saint Peter, I want to stay here but You remind us within Your word, there is more to be done.  Watch over this day. Give us the wisdom, the insight, the courage to respond as You would respond.  Prayers for families that are under persecution around the world for following Jesus.  Help them see their reward is in Heaven and not in the world.

Week 43 - The Journey Apostle Paul

Week 43 - The Journey Apostle Paul

"So they arranged a day with him and came to his lodgings in great numbers. From early morning until evening, he expounded his position to them, bearing witness to the kingdom of God and trying to convince them about Jesus from the law of Moses and the prophets. Some were convinced by what he had said, while others did not believe. Without reaching any agreement among themselves they began to leave; then Paul made one final statement. "Well did the holy Spirit speak to your ancestors through the prophet Isaiah, saying: Gross is the heart of this people; they will not hear with their ears; they have closed their eyes, so they may not see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and be converted, and I heal them.' Let it be known to you that this salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles; they will listen."  ‭‭Acts‬ ‭28:23-25, 27-28‬

Held Captive.  The freedom of Christ and the captivity of a hardened heart.  I sit with Paul in his freedom as he is held captive during his time in Rome.  The circumstances of his life are beyond his control for this is where God has him.  Yet in this physical captivity Paul is completely free.  Those that come to visit him are given the choice of freedom thru Christ or to continue in their self imposed prison of a hardened heart.

"If, then, we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him."  ‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:8‬. "As to his death, he died to sin once and for all; as to his life, he lives for God."
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:10‬.  Paul's freedom is found in Christ, his life is Christ's life.  The situations of his everyday life are all gifts from God as he is living in the righteousness of Jesus.  We as well can learn from Paul's captivity.  "No longer I, but Christ lives in me." Galatians 2:20.  Paul lives out his faith and it is his example that gives us strength.  Be held captive by Jesus Christ.

What is God saying to me?  You are learning even in the circumstances.

Dear Father, I am blessed to be hear, to be able to sit at Your feet with Paul and look at truth in action.  You are the Keeper of my soul and it is You that I lean upon for understanding.  Thank You Father for the gifts of this day and the grace that is found within prayer.   May my own commitment to Jesus be wholehearted and generous as St Paul's was.  Prayers for the gifts of the Holy Spirit to those that are seeking them.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Week 43 - The Journey Apostle Paul

Week 43 - The Journey Apostle Paul

""After I had returned to Jerusalem and while I was praying in the temple, I fell into a trance and saw the Lord saying to me, 'Hurry, leave Jerusalem at once, because they will not accept your testimony about me.' But I replied, 'Lord, they themselves know that from synagogue to synagogue I used to imprison and beat those who believed in you. And when the blood of your witness Stephen was being shed, I myself stood by giving my approval and keeping guard over the cloaks of his murderers.' Then he said to me, 'Go, I shall send you far away to the Gentiles.'"   They listened to him until he said this, but then they raised their voices and shouted, "Take such a one as this away from the earth. It is not right that he should live.""  ‭‭Acts‬ ‭22:17-22‬

Witness.  Paul gives witness to his life with Christ.  The relationship is real as they converse together, each looking out for the other.  We spend time focusing upon the results neglecting to see the power of one's witness.

Paul within this group was going no where, God revealed this to him.  Yet Paul's witness to the person of Jesus would and is changing lives.  Is there enough evidence to convict you of being a follower of Jesus on the Way?

Paul wasn't concerned about the results just of doing the will of God.  This is a lesson for all of us.

What is God saying to me?

Dear Lord, the day comes over the horizon bringing about opportunity to serve You in love.  Help me see that each day is a gift from You, each day is filled with hope and joy.  You are the Keeper of my soul and it is You I seek in this valley.  Bless those seeking Your will, help them see that their lives are the witness to Your reality.  Prayers for a world seeking to destroy itself, even in this You are at work.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Week 43 - The Journey Apostle Paul

Week 43 - The Journey Apostle Paul

"He entered the synagogue, and for three months debated boldly with persuasive arguments about the kingdom of God. But when some in their obstinacy and disbelief disparaged the Way before the assembly, he withdrew and took his disciples with him and began to hold daily discussions in the lecture hall of Tyrannus. This continued for two years with the result that all the inhabitants of the province of Asia heard the word of the Lord, Jews and Greeks alike. So extraordinary were the mighty deeds God accomplished at the hands of Paul that when face cloths or aprons that touched his skin were applied to the sick, their diseases left them and the evil spirits came out of them."  ‭‭Acts‬ ‭19:8-12‬

Holiness.  "Knowledge  without implementation is useless", "Applied knowledge is power."  We witness as Paul, by the grace of God takes up his tasks each day.  We can be one of the members in the audience listening to the words of God, enjoying listening, going home and soaking in it but doing nothing with it.  We can be one of the members of the audience listening to the words of God, enjoy listening and then, as Paul shows us, going into the world doing what God puts in front of us.

Holiness, in my opinion, is achieved by listening, learning, obeying and applying God's grace.  In this way Paul transformed his world ensuring everyone has the opportunity to encounter Jesus.  What they do is up to them.  Belief takes time to transform the mind but there comes a point in time it becomes action.

Generations were transformed because of Paul's holiness applied in his daily life, one soul at a time.

What is God saying to me?  Moments like these can not be relived, prayer isn't always done in silence but I Am always there in the moment.

Dear Father God, when we sit and listen you speak through the circumstances of our life.   Paul repeated his circumstances in the written word and we get to relive them.  Thank You Father for the grace of Your Holy Spirit moving within us.  Help us to witness to Your grace throughout the day that is given.  Prayers for others around the world under attack, bring about peace in our world in all things.  Bless this day and all it has to offer.  Amen.

Week 43 - The Journey Apostle Paul

Week 43 - The Journey Apostle Paul

"But some from the party of the Pharisees who had become believers stood up and said, "It is necessary to circumcise them and direct them to observe the Mosaic law." The apostles and the presbyters met together to see about this matter. After much debate had taken place, Peter got up and said to them, "My brothers, you are well aware that from early days God made his choice among you that through my mouth the Gentiles would hear the word of the gospel and believe. And God, who knows the heart, bore witness by granting them the holy Spirit just as he did us. He made no distinction between us and them, for by faith he purified their hearts. Why, then, are you now putting God to the test by placing on the shoulders of the disciples a yoke that neither our ancestors nor we have been able to bear? On the contrary, we believe that we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, in the same way as they." The whole assembly fell silent, and they listened while Paul and Barnabas described the signs and wonders God had worked among the Gentiles through them. James on Dietary Law. After they had fallen silent, James responded, "My brothers, listen to me. It is my judgment, therefore, that we ought to stop troubling the Gentiles who turn to God, but tell them by letter to avoid pollution from idols, unlawful marriage, the meat of strangled animals, and blood."  Acts‬ ‭15:5-13, 19-20‬

Authority.  The Council of Jerusalem, aprox A.D. 50.  As you listen to the discussion within the room, it is the authority that God has placed within the room that speaks the loudest yet in a small still voice.  We all have insights and perceptions but it must be judged against the authority of the Church that Jesus established.   A man without a rudder will be blown around by the wind.

You can see the conflict between the Mosaic law and the Eternal covenant that Jesus established on the cross.  Is it works that we are saved by or is it by grace.  Yet you can see grace at work.  If we are guided by a set of laws and do not have love then we are just a sounding gong that no one listens.  In the end Love triumphs thru God's authority for when He speaks we have a choice to respond with love which is grace in action or hold onto our flawed viewpoint.

What is God saying to me?  Do you hear My call, that small still voice that repeats the message of love, over and over again.  Not all have the understanding for it is in the stillness that I Am heard.

Dear Father, there is beauty in the silence and the stillness, the perception of You by my side.  Your Son walked this way and never alone, it is all part of the journey.  Thank You Father for changing hearts and instilling the grace that changes the world.  Thank You for the authority of the Church, we must all learn to recognize its strength.   Bless this day and all it has to offer, prayers for a friend that is experiencing loneliness.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Week 43 - The Journey Apostle Paul

Week 43 - The Journey Apostle Paul

"Now there were at Antioch, in the church that was there, prophets and teachers: Barnabas, and Simeon who was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. While they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, "Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them." Then, when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them, they sent them away."  ‭‭Acts‬ ‭13:1-3‬

There is power in prayer especially during this season of lent.  Fasting, prayer and almsgiving is what the disciples were being asked to do by the Holy Spirit.  Listening to the Spirit of God and then applying it to your daily life is the great journey.   Being set apart by His tutelage is also part of the great journey.

Listen to the wisdom of God, be set apart from a world that has "I" in the center.  "I" is the middle letter in the word sin.  "I" can do nothing without God for whatever "I" accomplishes without God isn't worth having.  Saul learned this lesson as did Manaen.   Herod the tetrarch ordered the killing of James the apostle.  The path that Manean was on was leading to destruction as was Saul's.

"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect."  Romans‬ ‭12:2‬.  Listen to the word of God and believe in the Gospel.

What is God saying to me?

Dear Father, prayers for "I" that fall into the trap of the evil one.  May "I" repent and believe in the Gospels in action as Paul demonstrates with his life.  Bless this day and our actions.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Week 42 - The Journey Apostle Paul

Week 42 - The Journey Apostle Paul

"For you heard of my former way of life in Judaism, how I persecuted the church of God beyond measure and tried to destroy it, and progressed in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries among my race, since I was even more a zealot for my ancestral traditions. But when [God], who from my mother's womb had set me apart and called me through his grace, was pleased to reveal his Son to me, so that I might proclaim him to the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult flesh and blood, nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; rather, I went into Arabia and then returned to Damascus."  ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭1:13-17‬

Formation.  Life is the great teacher, I witness Paul with head knowledge go into the world persecuting those that are not on his way.  These days even though painful would have purpose in Pauls formation.  Christ the King makes His presence known to Paul with all his formal training.  Now God would put Paul to build the kingdom.

Paul's training came at the hands of the Holy Spirit.  This training would use the head knowledge but transform it into heart knowledge.  Life experiences when reflected upon with God brings about their purpose.  Paul's training came at the hands of God.

When we slow down and with purpose invite God in, He reveals truth within us so we too can become instruments of Peace.  Too many times we do not take the time and humble ourselves before God.  Saul didn't need God, he was a type of god but Paul on the other hand became clay in the Potters hands.  Your life has purpose, all of it, give it to God and watch what he does with your formation.

What is God saying to me?  In the heart I reveal Myself, in the head you reveal self.  Trust in My Divine wisdom, it goes beyond understanding.

Dear Father God, there is much going on, yet I perceive You at work.  I see the challenges of life, I see the softness of You at work and Your gentleness is what comes thru when we put ourselves within Your care.  Thank You Father for eyes of faith to see what is at the heart of the way.  Prayers for good life lessons in Your hands.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Week 42 - The Journey Apostle Paul

Week 42 - The Journey Apostle Paul

"More than that, I even consider everything as a loss because of the supreme good of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have accepted the loss of all things and I consider them so much rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having any righteousness of my own based on the law but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God, depending on faith to know him and the power of his resurrection and [the] sharing of his sufferings by being conformed to his death, if somehow I may attain the resurrection from the dead.  ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3:8-11‬

Rebirth.  Each day when we awake we are born into the day.  The past is behind us, the future awaits but this is the day the Lord has made.  Paul's past was leading him to destruction, in his awakening with his encounter with Jesus, he was born into new life, everlasting life.

The apostles journeyed with Christ for three years, Paul journeys with the Trinity each day.  Each day is a gift living in the presence of God.  Each day builds upon the foundation of God when we walk with Him.  Paul came to understand all was for nought if God is not the Supreme Source.

"In the morning let me hear of your mercy, for in you I trust. Show me the path I should walk, for I entrust my life to you."  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭143:8‬.  Pride falls away and faith grows when we walk the way where God directs us.  Each day is a gift, renew your mind with God and trust in where He is taking you.

What is God saying to me?  Live now, live each moment with Me, it is a taste of Heaven.

Dear Father, each day with You, builds upon a strong foundation.  The joy one feels knowing how we are loved surpasses all understanding.  Prayers for lots of moments with You.  Thank You for the Body of Christ that operates with in us, I see it at work and I see it suffering as well.  Prayers for the suffering, in our pain lift us up to You with the knowledge that all is well.  Only through You can we get there.  Bless this day with each breath that we take.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Week 42 - The Journey Apostle Paul

Week 42 - The Journey Apostle Paul

"And he put all things beneath his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of the one who fills all things in every way."  ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭1:22-23‬

Resurrection.  Sin, the One who bore all of our sins, is the head, we are the body.  Considered the scourging at the pillar as Jesus is being whipped for our sin.  Each and every sin He bore.  Do we recognize that the sins we commit inflict pain upon the mystical body of Christ?

In the journey with Christ, daily, we begin to understand how sin impacts our lives, how it causes chaos in our world, how the pain of it hurts and we realize that it is Jesus who willingly died for them.  Paul persecuted the Church until he seen the Church as Jesus, each and everyone of them.

In the Risen Christ, the pain is gone, there is new life, there is joy and there is peace.  You with Jesus, have overcome and are becoming, well you are, He is already there waiting upon us to join Him.

What is God saying to me?  A little at a time.

Dear Father, Thank You, for witnessing the resurrection of Your body.  There are many saints who walk amongst us who have bore the pain and are now living as a disciple sharing the joy of Your Risen Body.   Help us see how we are healed by Your stripes, the ones we inflict upon ourselves.  I thank You with the heart full of gratitude.   Prayers for a friend with an severe ear ache, by Your stripes we are healed.  Bless this day Lord, in Jesus name, Amen.

Week 42 - The Journey Apostle Paul

Week 42 - The Journey Apostle Paul

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavens, as he chose us in him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and without blemish before him. In love he destined us for adoption to himself through Jesus Christ, in accord with the favor of his will, for the praise of the glory of his grace that he granted us in the beloved….In him you also, who have heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and have believed in him, were sealed with the promised holy Spirit, which is the first installment of our inheritance toward redemption as God's possession, to the praise of his glory. The Church as Christ's Body."  Ephesians‬ ‭1:3-6, 13-14‬

Listen.  As you listen to Paul preach, he speaks with a wisdom that comes from deep within.  God has become his inner most being, He is his all in all.  The journey of his life has brought him to this point and the gift that he has been given, the first installment of salvation, the Holy Spirit, he wishes others to receive.

God loved us that much that His Son came so we might have life within Him.  This is the life that Paul is living.  As you ponder your own life do you see how God the Father is bringing you closer to this relationship.  One where you and him are in an intimate relationship?   Paul's words convey this message over and over again, our challenge is to quiet the mind so we can listen.   God always speaks but do we always hear Him in the circumstances of our life.

What is God saying to me?  You are not alone, the words will come from within, it is I your Father in Heaven.  Don't concern yourself if others don't understand, Paul experienced some of the same reactions.

Dear Father God, I know You are with me, I know I am one of Your sons and I have received the first installment of my salvation.  Thank You for the gift of this day, thank You for changing hearts and bringing about changes within homes that will change future generations.  Help us see how our own participants has a direct impact on the souls of others.  Bless this day, watch over us and may we be a pleasing offering in Your site.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Week 42 - The Journey Apostle Paul

Week 42 - The Journey Apostle Paul

"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. For it was the Father's good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven."  ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1:15-20

Grace.  It was the transformation of Paul that got my attention this morning.  A man that got up each day living out his faith under the tutelage of the Holy Spirit.  Listening to the words he wrote given to him by God as they had and were transforming him so we as well can be transformed.

"having made peace through the blood of His cross", peace was his strength.  The place that we all seek and Paul clearly tells us how to receive it.  The words can become overwhelming but the man is not.  The life of one who has walked in our footsteps speaks louder when we just sit with him, not in the words but through the words.

Grace is a gift from God, there is nothing any of us can do to receive it or force it.  Yet the Father fills the heart with His grace, transforms the person with grace.  Be at peace in the blood of the Lamb, all things are for the glory of God.

What is God saying to me?  Words are not necessary, it is by My grace and your faithfulness that the heart is transformed to communicate My love for you.

Dear Lord God, You see the battle and You give us hope to overcome the battle.  Bless this day, strengthen the hearts of many so Your world can be transformed.  Prayers for those fighting on the front lines in the Ukraine and here at home against evil forces.  You are the Great Victor.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Week 42 - The Journey Apostle Paul

Week 42 - The Journey Apostle Paul.

"For I handed on to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures; that he was buried; that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the scriptures;". ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:3-4‬

The Living Word of God.  Read 1 Corinthians 15:1-10 as a member of the audience with the knowledge of Paul's background.

I sat and listened to Paul preach this morning and pondered the Mystical Presence of God.  Paul persecuted the followers of Jesus who were on the way.  They were not following the law and his(Paul) human intellect was enraged.  Now he is speaking with the Corinthians who can not understand life after death.  Paul is living life after death.  He is speaking from experience to his audience with the scales removed.

He has been transformed by Jesus, His blood courses thru his veins and he also wants them to understand the teachings of scripture.  The ones that he had gotten so wrong for he was living in the world.

The scriptures built the foundation and now it is his experiences that is bringing about the light of Christ in empty hearts.  Paul speaks of scriptures before the NT was written.  His words are the Living Word of God.  God must be experienced in us for Him to come alive.  I speak with conviction on this for I to have experienced Him and am witnessing others live with the mystical body.

Live out your faith, live with God within and be amazed.

What is God saying to me?

Dear Father, the Way is an incredible journey that can only be experienced.  Paul lived out his life in scripture, the scripture of his life.  Most don't understand for they have yet to experience your Living Presence.  Each day is a joy when it begins in prayer, watch over this day and continue to knock on hearts who sit on the sideline with unbelief in their hearts.  Prayers for a friend experiencing heart issues, You are in control in all situations.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Week 42 - The Journey Ash Wednesday

Week 42 - The Journey Ash Wednesday.

"Is this the manner of fasting I would choose, a day to afflict oneself? To bow one's head like a reed, and lie upon sackcloth and ashes? Is this what you call a fast, a day acceptable to the Lord?"  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭58:5‬

The beginning of lent, a 40 day journey as a remembrance of the One who died for my sins when He didn't have to.  We begin this journey in the Church by acknowledging our faith in Him by the outward symbol of His love, the crucifixion.

My question, what about our inward symbol of our love for God.  This year is different than others in that we are at war, not with countries but with the evil that exists in the world.  Isaiah says it best as one day will not conquer this evil in our lives but each day living within the body of Christ, sharing the love of God with others and allowing His blood to flow thru us brings us to a deeper understanding and we become other Christs.

Fast and Pray for a world that is in need of Jesus, show the crucifixion on your forehead with ashes and live with Jesus everyday outwardly whether He is seen or not on the outside.

"For to me life is Christ, and death is gain."  ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭1:21‬

What is God saying to me?  You believe, your faith demonstrates this belief in My Son Jesus, whether the sign can be seen on your forehead or not.

Dear Father, I pray for a world in need of salvation, I pray for a world united as one within the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Son Jesus.  Prayers for our brothers and sisters under attack around the world, receive our sacrifices this day as an offering to bring about peace within souls.   I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Week 41 - The Journey

Week 41 - The Journey

"Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is begotten by God, and everyone who loves the father loves [also] the one begotten by him. In this way we know that we love the children of God when we love God and obey his commandments."  ‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:1-2‬

Begotten.   Do you consider yourself begotten?  If you believe Jesus is the Christ then you are begotten by the Father.  What does begotten mean?  To bring about, brought forth.  You have come to understand that Jesus is the Christ, not made or created but brought forth by God for the salvation of mankind.

Whoever loves the Father loves the one begotten by Him.  Belief and love cross paths and we must reconcile ourselves.  In a sense, I am being pruned for the knowledge I have was brought about by God, I am a willing participant but it is by the hands of God.

It is a journey and the destination isn't grasped at until eternity is achieved.  That is my hope for within there is more to be done.   Everyone is on their own path.  There is a peace in knowing that God is with us til the end, it is not by my own accord but by the power of God.  I will continue to listen and trust.

What is God saying to me?  Trust, Jesus trusted along the path for He knew Me and you totally. Trust

Dear Father God, you see the day that lies ahead, in our journey together give me the wisdom and understanding to navigate it as your begotten son.  Prayers for a world that fails to listen to the beauty of life including me.  Thank You for this coming weekend as You and Mother Mary prepare the faithful.  Those that have yet to make a decision bring them forth into Your world.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
