Week 43 - The Journey Apostle Paul
"Now there were at Antioch, in the church that was there, prophets and teachers: Barnabas, and Simeon who was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. While they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, "Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them." Then, when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them, they sent them away." Acts 13:1-3
There is power in prayer especially during this season of lent. Fasting, prayer and almsgiving is what the disciples were being asked to do by the Holy Spirit. Listening to the Spirit of God and then applying it to your daily life is the great journey. Being set apart by His tutelage is also part of the great journey.
Listen to the wisdom of God, be set apart from a world that has "I" in the center. "I" is the middle letter in the word sin. "I" can do nothing without God for whatever "I" accomplishes without God isn't worth having. Saul learned this lesson as did Manaen. Herod the tetrarch ordered the killing of James the apostle. The path that Manean was on was leading to destruction as was Saul's.
"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect." Romans 12:2. Listen to the word of God and believe in the Gospel.
What is God saying to me?
Dear Father, prayers for "I" that fall into the trap of the evil one. May "I" repent and believe in the Gospels in action as Paul demonstrates with his life. Bless this day and our actions. In Jesus name, Amen.
