Daily Thoughts - We are an Easter People.
"This is my commandment: love one another as I love you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. I no longer call you slaves, because a slave does not know what his master is doing. I have called you friends, because I have told you everything I have heard from my Father. It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you." John 15:12-16
"For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him." John 3:17
A friend will not condemn you, he will guide you to all righteousness. Is Jesus a friend? Do you listen to Him?
Dear Father, it has been a blessed day, filled with lots of moments. I witnessed Your pain and suffering, as a friend I will do what You ask. For in that friendship we experience both the joys of life and the sorrows of life. Thank You for breathing life into my day, for the joy of a faithful priest to teach from a wealth of knowledge. Prayers for a friend in the last stages of life, may he have experienced Your friendship and know that he is chosen by You. I ask this in Your most holy name, Jesus Christ, Amen.
