"They rose up, drove him out of the town, and led him to the brow of the hill on which their town had been built, to hurl him down headlong."
You ever notice how at times anger can get the better of you. It clouds your thoughts and closes your ears. We need to realize what is going on and count to ten. In our moments of anger we can make rash decision that impact our future.
Just think, the people of Nazareth we're going to kill Jesus and He was there to save them. Remember who made you the next time you get upset and take a deep breath. Jesus has come to conquer your anger, let Him in, open the door.
Lord God, I thank you for the week that lays ahead. May I realize the opportunities You have given me to spread Your word. May I be patient and calm when under stress and may I be a pleasing offering in Your site. In your most holy name, Jesus.

Daily Thoughts 2-28-2016 Luke 13:8-9
Luke 13:8-9
"He said to him in reply, 'Sir, leave it for this year also, and I shall cultivate the ground around it and fertilize it; it may bear fruit in the future. If not you can cut it down.'""
Are you cultivating the ground around any fig trees. We never know if we are an answer to someones prayer. God hears their pleas and sends us into the vineyard.
Our lives cross paths for a reason. Be prepared and have the right tools with you. A smile on your face, the hope in your heart and the spirit in your voice. God will do the rest, just like Moses, He will give you the words. You just need to be willing.
Lord God, You prepared Moses for the journey, You gave him what he needed. Help us see how You have prepared us for our mission in life. I thank you for this day and look forward with joy when I can receive you today. In the name of Jesus, amen.

"but the Pharisees and scribes began to complain, saying, "This man welcomes sinners and eats with them." So to them he addressed this parable."
You ever notice someone encamped in church. They go each week, maybe even during the week. So set in their ways and happy of who they are and their position. The Pharisees took pride in their position, they were doing God's work.
Jesus paints a picture with the prodigal son parable. We can go into the world and bring sinners home or we can be like the brother, all bent out of shape because we aren't being celebrated. Be willing to let Jesus shine, God loves a cheerful giver.
Holy God, you are almighty, may we bless you with your gifts and talents. May we see past our insecurities and trust in you. May we celebrate change and growth in your church. May we pray for each other and may we go into the world and eat with sinners. In Jesus name, Amen.

Matthew 21:43
"Therefore, I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people that will produce its fruit."
Our journey with Christ leads us to a closeness to our Heavenly Father. In the beginning the focus is on ourselves, what our spirit needs. Jesus is healing the vineyard.
Then as maturity comes, we realize our purpose with Christ. It is to give Him away, to help those in need. Allow Christ to help you realize your gifts, He will produce fruit if you let Him. Jesus gives the gift freely, we must receive freely. Otherwise you wither on the vine.
Father God, you are the creator of the heavens. Thank you for your blessings that rain down on us each day. Thank you for your words and the fruit it produces. May we each realize Your purpose for us in the vineyard. And may our efforts yield an abundant harvest. Jesus, I trust in you.

"And he cried out, 'Father Abraham, have pity on me. Send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am suffering torment in these flames.'"
We have all heard the story of Lazarus and the rich man. Are you that rich man in your llife? Do you see what is going on around you or does the world revolve around you?
Our time to prepare for Heaven is while we are on earth. What benefit is it to gain the world yet lose your soul in the process. Do not become the rich man suffering torment. God sees your efforts or lack of effort
Dear Lord God, there are so many that are lost. Help us see past our riches to be able to help those in need. It maybe a coworker or friend. I thank you for this day you have prepared for us, and may we go out into the world to quench the thirsty. In your most holy name, Jesus.

Jesus is God, in Jesus there is no darkness. He is the perfect one yet God walked amongst us showing us how to fight darkness. Simple everyday decisions to follow Jesus shines through the darkness.
Put Jesus at the center of your life, Jesus first. Ask Him for help, seek His counsel. It can be found in your bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John is a good place to start. Is your life a living example of the light of Christ or are you just pretending?
Lord God, we live in strange times, come and radiate our hearts. Help your people to see the light and follow you. Protect us today from evil and may we be a blessing to your Kingdom, one person at a time. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Ezekiel 18:31
"Cast away from you all the crimes you have committed, and make for yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. Why should you die, house of Israel?"
Starting over isn't easy but sometimes it is our only option. We can't hit the rewind button but we can change the coarse of our lives. God does step in every now and then and makes His presence known.
The power of prayer and turning to God, this is the first step in starting over. The next step is asking God for His help and thanking Him for all that you have. Then repeat both steps the rest of your life. Life is so much more enjoyable with a clean heart and a clean spirit.
Dear Heavenly Father, you are the Mighty One, send your spirit out and change lives. Help us see the power of prayer. Help us realize that there is a spiritual fight going on for our souls. Teach us to pray to you and seek your protection in our lives. I ask this in the name of Jesus.

"Do not lord it over those assigned to you, but be examples to the flock."
Who is assigned to you? We all have someone assigned to us. It starts at home, with your spouse and your children, your family. In fact it starts with you, you are to be the example to those closest to you.
Those at work they are assigned to you as well. Do they see and hear Jesus on your lips? Jesus only spoke truth not something that is always found at work. Truth is truth, be the living example people so desperately need.
Lord God as we start our day, please guide our steps, send your legion of angels to protect us. May I be a living example and when I slip up, may I turn to you for forgiveness. In your most holy name, Jesus. Amen.

"He took him outside and said: Look up at the sky and count the stars, if you can. Just so, he added, will your descendants be."
We have the luxury of time since God took Abram outside. We can not see into the future but can see what is going on around us. God has a plan and you are a part of His plan.
Your life has purpose, you are being called into service. The sky is still not bright enough with stars. Do not be a spectator, stand up and be counted. There is no such thing as a coincidence, that is why you are here!
Dear Lord God, my heart burst with Joy knowing you are one step closer. Thank you for healing, Thank you for your soldiers, Thank you for peace in our lives. May we see what we are to do, to live life's of dedicated love. In your most holy name, amen.

I am truly amazed at the generosity of Jesus. He waits patiently for us to come to Him. To be still and just pour our hearts out.
If we would just slow down and spend time sitting in His presence. All our pains, all our troubles, and all our desires will be replaced with His love.
May God almighty bless you with peace. May you crave His word and His presence with all your heart. It is He that saves and gives us eternal life. Be who God intended you to be. In Jesus name, Amen!

Our hope is lost if placed on anything other than the Lord. Our jobs, our fortune, our fame will all deceive us, sooner or later there will be a crisis.
Only in Jesus is there hope, only Jesus will never let you down. Only Jesus can redeem you. Life has away of driving us to our knees if Jesus isn't first. And with Jesus first we want to hit our knees.
Lord God, you are all knowing, you see everything. You guide our steps each day allowing us to choose. Help us see what is important and may it always be for your glory. In Jesus name, amen!

"but he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness." I will rather boast most gladly of my weaknesses, in order that the power of Christ may dwell with me."
Surrender, this is what we are to do, we think we have to have it all figured out. We place expectations on ourselves and on others that is of our own will. Surrender your will to God, ask Him to take over, to be your guiding light.
Surrender, power is made perfect in weakness. God is the only perfect one, He uses our weaknesses and failures for His glory to help others know Him. Ask your Heavenly Father for help and He will pour His grace upon you. Surrender.

This is what we all seek in our journey with Jesus. To stay the course and ride the waves. To sleep and be at peace all the time. So you could say that we seek the mind of Jesus.

"I sought the LORD, and he answered me, delivered me from all my fears.
Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it."
Seeking direction from God isn't always easy especially if you are in fear. I learned this the hard way but I did learn. God's ways are peaceful and lead to life.
The devil creates division, always trying to divide. In your situation slow down and find the peaceful resolution. Jesus was peaceful when under attack, He pursued the peaceful answer. To God be the glory!
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for another day to reach out. Please help me find the proper response today in all things. Help us see what is going on around us and may your loving embrace be our answer. Jesus I trust in you, Amen.

You are His, why do you act against His will. His commandants are meant to be followed. Holy is a choice, your human self wants to do the opposite but your spirit knows different.
Being holy leads to life, Jesus is holy, He showed us the way. He acted with kindness and compassion, with firmness and integrity. Our lives are meant to follow God, choose life.
Lord God, guide my life today, watch over our steps. Help us change the patterns of sin and help us be more like your Son, Jesus. You are deserving of all our love, in Jesus name, Amen.

Life is a series of choices, no different than Jesus going into the desert. We too face the same devil that He did. Do you give into your temptations? That would appear to be the easy way.
Sin is all around us and the devil is still trying to take control. When faced with a choice you know is against God, know that Jesus faced the same thing. He relied upon the Word of God to carry him through. Pray for each other that no one falls prey to the devil's lies.
Dear Heavenly Father, I ask for your intervention in our lives. Help us see what sin is doing in the world and to each of us. Send the Holy Spirit to renew our minds and be ever at our side protecting Your people. I ask these things in Jesus name amen.

Some days can be a real challenge, as I reflect upon my week, I did some things right and I sure did something's wrong. I am glad that God sent His Son to show us the way.
I begin anew today, can't go back only forward. Hopefully today I will make some progress but I also realize I will slip up. Knowing you are a sinner is a good start.
Lord God help us see the progress in our lives. Help us realize we need you. Help us see we are sinners, I pray for those that are blinded by their righteousness. Please touch their hearts and give them peace. Come Holy Spirit and breath life into us. In your Sons name, Amen.

Isaiah 58:6
"Is this not, rather, the fast that I choose: releasing those bound unjustly, untying the thongs of the yoke; Setting free the oppressed, breaking off every yoke?"
This is the year of mercy, what are you doing to make a difference. Yes we are to fast to honor God but we are also to reach out and help those in need. Help the oppressed by their conditions.
It doesn't take much, show that you care. Be attentive to ways that you can help. Speaking about your faith and how the yoke has been removed from you. Speak life during the day and let God shine.

This is the year of mercy, what are you doing to make a difference. Yes we are to fast to honor God but we are also to reach out and help those in need. Help the oppressed by their conditions.
It doesn't take much, show that you care. Be attentive to ways that you can help. Speaking about your faith and how the yoke has been removed from you. Speak life during the day and let God shine.

Daily Thoughts 2-11-2016 Deuteronomy 30:17
Deuteronomy 30:17
"If, however, your heart turns away and you do not obey, but are led astray and bow down to other gods and serve them. I tell you today that you will certainly perish; you will not have a long life on the land which you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess."
We have started the journey with Christ towards His death and resurrection. Where is your heart at? Are you washing your hands because that is the letter of the law?
During this Lenten season, feed your heart. Do something that draws you closer to Jesus and His passion. It doesn't take much, God asks us to be obedient. He knows your heart, what is it telling you to do?
Lord God, help us grow closer to you this Lenten season. Open our hearts to your passion. Help us see how we can act each day to those around us. I thank you for walking with me, especially today. In Jesus name, amen.

Daily Thoughts 2-10-2016 2 Corinthians 5:20
2 Corinthians 5:20
"So we are ambassadors for Christ, as if God were appealing through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God."
Are you Jesus? I read today's reading and this scripture speaks to me. God is appealing through us. In our normal everyday lives we are ambassadors of Christ. A simple good morning, stopping and helping a stranger. Make someone feel special today.
When we are reconciled to God, He can use us for His mission. Do we get it right all the time, no but that is ok. God only gives us what we can handle. If you think about the events in your days you can see Jesus in action. And all you were doing was just living life.
Lord Jesus, keep me on the watch for sacrifices to offer to You for the salvation of souls. I surrender my will to You. For without You, I can do nothing of value. To help me in taking up this charge, give me a good confessor to guide me. - The diary of Sister Faustina.

""Is God indeed to dwell on earth? If the heavens and the highest heavens cannot contain you, how much less this house which I have built!"
Tomorrow is the beginning of lent, how are you planing on preparing for the resurrection of Jesus? Is it giving up chocolate or TV or alcohol? Have you considered preparing your heart?
There are 40 days in lent, spend time each day preparing for His resurrection. Make a decision to develop a daily habit, read a book, read the daily readings. The house that Jesus dwells in on earth is your heart, as long as you make room for Him.
Lord God, you know what I need this coming Lenten season, help me prepare room for you in my daily actions. Give me the courage to let my guard down and be vulnerable to You, in Jesus name, Amen.

Mark 6:56
"Whatever villages or towns or countryside he entered, they laid the sick in the marketplaces and begged him that they might touch only the tassel on his cloak; and as many as touched it were healed."
Jesus is the cure, we go about life amassing wealth or things only to find out it doesn't satisfy. Jesus is the cure, we struggle with our marriage or a family member, on our own trying to change the other person. Jesus is the cure, we deal with loneliness or depression, turning to drugs or some other vice. Jesus is the cure.
What ever situation we deal with, Jesus is the cure. There is peace in knowing God, there is joy in knowing God, there is plenty in knowing God. Jesus is the cure.

Daily Thoughts 2-7-2016 Luke 5:4
Luke 5:4
"After he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, "Put out into deep water and lower your nets for a catch.""
What does it mean to lower your nets? Are we to go around and preach all the time? We have those who are examples for us. They always have their nets out yet they aren't preaching at all.
They reach out and help those in need. They lend an ear and listen with compassion. They visit the sick, they feed the Hungary, they help the poor. I am speaking of Deacons. You do not have to be a deacon to lower your net. As Jesus said, "Put out into deep water and lower your nets for a catch."
Lord God, when we see those around us in need, may we lend a hand. When you ask us to serve may we say yes. May your kingdom grow abundantly with our daily actions. In your Sons name, Amen.

"In addition, I give you what you have not asked for: I give you such riches and glory that among kings there will be no one like you all your days."
Solomon, could of asked for anything but he asked for something that would benefit others. He wasn't thinking of himself when he asked.
God gives us more than what we expect. When we seek His kingdom and seek to benefit it, God will bless you with more. It may not be riches but it will be more.
Lord God, I do not understand why each day. I ask that I continue to seek your kingdom and be a blessing to others. Help me keep my eyes off myself, in Jesus name, amen.

"For he had called upon the Most High God, who gave strength to his right arm To defeat the skilled warrior and establish the might of his people."
We all face a giant at some point in our lives. David knew to call upon God to help defeat him. He didn't stand a chance on his own.
God wants to help you but you got to ask. Find a church, go in and just speak with Him. Then relax and know there is purpose in what you go thru.
Lord God, our decisions today impact our tomorrow. Help us and give us strength, be our guiding light in this crazy world. I Thank You for your blessings and for prayer being answered. In your Sons name, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 2-4-2016 1 Kings 2::4
1 Kings 2:4
"and that the LORD may fulfill the word he spoke concerning me: If your sons so conduct themselves that they walk before me in faithfulness with their whole heart and soul, there shall never be wanting someone of your line on the throne of Israel."
You ever find yourself slipping back into your old ways just to be one of the guys? This isn't God plan for you, we are to stand up and be a man and demonstrate a different way. Now that doesn't mean we have to stop being us.
We decide how to live everyday and our decisions impact our future. Our whole heart and soul need to be engaged together. To walk the way of the Lord, isn't easy but it is worth it.

"When the sabbath came he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were astonished. They said, "Where did this man get all this? What kind of wisdom has been given him? What mighty deeds are wrought by his hands!"
Did Jesus gain His wisdom and knowledge by effort or did it just come naturally? I suspect both, nothing worth having comes without effort. Do you spend time in learning God's teachings?
Our insight takes a combination of both, effort and an openness to receive. Understanding our faith requires time and listening to those that have wisdom. Once you have learned do you share what God gives you?
Dear Heavenly Father, you give us your Holy Spirit to guide us through life. Help us be open to His guidance, give us a desire to know you and your spirit. May we be willing to share you to all that we come in contact with. In Jesus name, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 2-2-2016 Malachi 3:3
Malachi 3:3
"He will sit refining and purifying silver, and he will purify the Levites, Refining them like gold or silver, that they may bring offerings to the LORD in righteousness."
Refining - to remove all impurities. You first have to melt the gold or silver and then remove the foreign material so it becomes pure. You ever thought what this means for us?
Our lives are a process of refining, if we allow it. If we are to present ourselves to God one day we must be pure. Now we need to try but in reality the only one who can help us is Jesus. He is the refiner making us pure and removing all impurities.
Holy God it is never easy being refined, we want to hold on. Help us let go and move forward, ever closer to you. Make us pure in our actions and thoughts as we live for you. In Jesus name, Amen.

"As he was getting into the boat, the man who had been possessed pleaded to remain with him. But he would not permit him but told him instead, "Go home to your family and announce to them all that the Lord in his pity has done for you.""
Jesus encourages the man to go and tell how he has been healed. There is safety in being in Jesus's presence but Jesus asks us to go forth. To move on and proclaim what He has done for us.
Our journey in life is similar, we have choices in how to respond. Do we do nothing and eventually go back where we came from. Or do we venture out and do the will of God. Growth comes from moving forward in faith.
Lord God, I thank you for another week to move forward. You are generous God, giving each of us what we need. Watch over us this week Lord and keep us out of harms way. In Jesus name, amen.
