Daily Thoughts 1-19-2017 1 Samuel 24:11, 13-14

"You see for yourself today that the LORD just now delivered you into my hand in the cave. I was told to kill you, but I took pity on you instead. I decided, 'I will not raise a hand against my master, for he is the LORD's anointed.'  May the LORD judge between me and you. May the LORD exact justice from you in my case. I shall not lay a hand on you. As the old proverb says, 'From the wicked comes wickedness.' Thus I will not lay a hand on you." ‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭24:11, 13-14‬

How many of us would attack someone who was pursuing us, if they were delivered to you on a silver platter as Saul was.  I think about the business situations I am placed in and I know there are times I pounce.  Is this really what Jesus would do?  Those times we think we win, we really loose, because we have exacted our own justice.  David took the higher road and recognizes that God will exact justice.    Stop and look at your own situations, where are you not sharing Jesus but actually doing the work of the devil.  Now what can you do differently.  I know the restraint isn't easy but neither was David's.

Dear Heavenly Father, I lay myself down at your feet and ask for mercy.  I do not respond as You do and I am sorry.  Give me strength and restraint during those times I am being challenged and tempted to respond.  I wanna be like You yet I recognize I am a long way away.  May I remember it is You who will exact justice.  It is You who takes care of our needs.  It is You who loves us unconditionally.  Bless this day Lord with Your presence.  Amen.

Mary, Mother of Love, pray for us.
