"Now a week later his disciples were again inside and Thomas was with them. Jesus came, although the doors were locked, and stood in their midst and said, "Peace be with you."" John 20:26
The mercy of God can not be held back by locked doors and when He enters He brings peace. Peace in situations that seem impossible, peace in your own heart when you are not in control, peace just to be an observer. Locked doors will not keep Jesus out, so what ever is holding you back, open the doors, receive Jesus into your heart and receive the peace He wants to give.
A little story of peace that occurred this week. A friend has an elderly brother who is in the last stages of life. He was in the ER struggling to live, his blood pressure was 40/40. The family prayed the Divine Mercy Chaplet in the room with him and all his vitals stabilized. He is still in the last stages of life but Jesus came through that locked door and brought peace in a desperate situation. The presence of Jesus entered that room and that man. There is peace in his heart, and he is ready all because his family prayed the Divine Mercy Chaplet. Don't be like Thomas and not believe. Miracles happen all around us if we would just believe, ain't that right Thomas!
Dear Lord God, I trust in You, I trust in Your mercy and Your salvation for a sinner like me. Open locked doors and bring peace into hearts that are unwilling to believe. Enter in and change lives, bring the joy that surpasses all understanding. Enliven spirits that need proof, that need to feel and see the healing power of God. You are my God and I believe, use me as You need. I will go where You tell me and I will stay where you need me. Bless those families that are preparing their loved ones for the infinite mercy of God. Jesus lives, Amen.
Mary, Mother of Mercy, pray for us.
Feast of Divine Mercy!
Jesus promises unfathomable graces on this day to souls that will go to confession beforehand and then receive Him worthily in Holy Communion on the Feast of Mercy (see Diary, 699.)
Our Lord spoke directly to St. Faustina about the significance of Divine Mercy Sunday:
Souls perish in spite of My bitter Passion. I am giving them the last hope of salvation; that is, the Feast of My Mercy. If they will not adore My mercy, they will perish for all eternity (Diary, 965).
Meditation:
When I told this to my confessor, I received this for a reply: "That refers to your soul." He told me, "Certainly, paint God's image in your soul." When I came out of the confessional, I again heard words such as these: My image already is in your soul. I desire that there be a Feast of Mercy. I want this image, which you will paint with a brush, to be solemnly blessed on the first Sunday after Easter; that Sunday is to be the Feast of Mercy (Diary, 49).
My Prayer Response:
Thank You, Jesus, that Your image as The Divine Mercy, radiating Your mercy and blessing us, has been painted and is available for our veneration. Thank You that the Feast of Mercy is now available to the whole Church as a special moment of grace. With deep trust in You, may I venerate Your image on the Feast of Mercy
