"You fool! What you sow is not brought to life unless it dies." 1 Corinthians 15:36
What dies if you are sowing the word of God within? Do you allow the seed time to germinate? The seed must sit in darkness and be fed by its environment. In my own life, I imagine God's word growing and developing as I sit and allow it to penetrate my being. Overtime it grows and chokes out the seed that the world strives to grow. God is the Sun in our spiritual lives, it is He that rains downs blessings upon our lives that produces the perseverance that is needed to produce the fruit that He and we desire. This only happens by giving of our time in quiet reflection, we die to self in order for Him to grow. It wasn't easy for Jesus either! "Who, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God something to be grasped. Rather, he emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, coming in human likeness; and found human in appearance, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, even death on a cross." Philippians 2:6-8
Dear Lord God, I reflect upon the past couple of days and see the word of God planted, and germinating in others. They are dying to the events of their lives and allowing You to take root in their spirit. Blessed are they who are poor in spirit for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. You are growing a mighty army in our midst may we give You our time so we are prepared for eternity. Praise be the name of Jesus, Amen.
Mary, Queen of Saints, pray for us.
Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. 1 John 4:4b
