"You shall command the Israelites to bring you clear oil of crushed olives, to be used for the light, so that you may keep lamps burning always. From evening to morning Aaron and his sons shall maintain them before the LORD in the tent of meeting, outside the veil which hangs in front of the covenant. This shall be a perpetual statute for the Israelites throughout their generations." Exodus 27:20-21
God establishes His Holy Church, He sets up its authority, defines the royal priesthood and provides a place of worship that is holy. The imagery God creates us is beautiful and at the center is God. The Church has been established since this time, He is the head and we are to honor what God commands of us. As you read His Word, do you read to understand, do you reflect upon what God is saying. He speaks to us through His Holy Word, this is the source of our foundation. As I enter Church today it has not changed, I see the authority, I see the royal priesthood, I see the perpetual statue that continues through the generations. It is unfortunate that some fall victim to the schemes of the devil. "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being My priest. Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children." Hosea 4:6. Honor God how He intended it, Perpetual never ends.
What is God saying to me: Listen to understand.
Dear Father God, You established Your Church a long long time ago. You had Moses write down what You had intended and over time we, as a people, have eaten the apple many times. You are very clear in how we are to worship, You go into detail on what Your temple looks like. Help us view our place of worship through these eyes of understanding and seek to listen so we can understand. Father God with You as the focus, we will always be guided by the Holy Spirit. May I listen today to understand and not listen so I can respond. I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
Mary, Queen of the Holy Rosary, pray for us.
Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. 1 John 4:4b
