Deuteronomy 4 - Our Mission

"but you, who held fast to the LORD, your God, are all alive today. See, I am teaching you the statutes and ordinances as the LORD, my God, has commanded me, that you may observe them in the land you are entering to possess. Observe them carefully, for this is your wisdom and discernment in the sight of the peoples, who will hear of all these statutes and say, "This great nation is truly a wise and discerning people."

However, be on your guard and be very careful not to forget the things your own eyes have seen, nor let them slip from your heart as long as you live, but make them known to your children and to your children's children, Deuteronomy‬ ‭4:4-6, 9

Deuteronomy 4 - Our mission.  Moses is preparing his people to go forward into the promised land.  What was going thru his mind knowing he couldn't cross over?  He wanted the Israelites to safeguard what God had given them, to remember what God had done for them and to insure that what he had learned and what they had learned would be passed on to the next generations.  A new land filled with milk and honey, a land with another way of life, would they forget what they had learned.  In our own journeys we get allured by the newness, maybe trying something different and slowly over time walking away and not knowingly, unintended consequences, changing what God had intended.   You have a responsibility to pass on what God gave you, do it with love as Moses did, speak of your love for God and then pray to God, knowing He will shepherd His people.  We each must travel this journey, be a wise and discerning people.

What is God saying to me: Do not let your heart be troubled, I journey with them for they are entrusted to Me, have faith.

Dear Father, there are memories that come flooding back of a simpler time, where my faith of my youth was my parents, now it Is mine to pass on to the next generation.  I am entrusting them to You, You have passed on to this day what Moses spoke that day.  Awaken our senses to see what is real and what is true, give us an ear to know the path forward.  Thank You for Your faithful servants walking in faith, following Your voice and leading the way, may they be blessed with the same knowledge Moses had.  Prayers for a friend that had a medical scare, all is well.   Bless this day Father and may You sing to us today, Amen.

Mary, Queen of Heaven, pray for us.
