Psalms 86 - Awake my soul

"LORD, hear my prayer; listen to my cry for help.

Teach me, LORD, your way that I may walk in your truth, single-hearted and revering your name. I will praise you with all my heart, glorify your name forever, Lord my God. Your mercy to me is great; you have rescued me from the depths of Sheol."  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭86:6, 11-13‬

Psalms 86 - Awake my soul.  A cry for help, God hears and gives the answer.  We have been given two ears and one mouth for a reason, do we spend time listening?  The cry for help we have figured out but what about the listening.  Are we thankful in advance for the answer, knowing that the Giver of good gifts will always respond with what is needed.  He gives us His Holy Spirit, do we ask for His help?  "Come Holy Spirit".  Simple yet powerful little prayer.  Put God first in your life, spend time in prayer, praise God with thanksgiving and listen.  Once that is the norm, you have all you will ever need for it is no longer just you fighting the battle, the Advocate(Holy Spirit) is by your side.

What is God saying to me:  (silence)

Dear Lord, I know that you incline Your ear to us, I thank You for filling us with Your Holy Spirit, for breathing life into our souls.  You are the answer to all that ails us, give us ears to hear, eyes to see and a heart with singularity of purpose.  Thank You Father for the gifts of this weekend, the seeds have been planted, raise up the fruit that You desire.  Happy Birthday to the Church on this Pentecost Sunday, awake our souls Father to its beauty and the fullness of Your truth.  I ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Psalms 85 - The coming of the Lord

"Near indeed is his salvation for those who fear him; glory will dwell in our land.

Justice will march before him, and make a way for his footsteps."  Psalms‬ ‭85:10, 14‬

Psalms 85 - The coming of the Lord.  The psalmist wrote this in anticipation of the coming of Jesus, he knew that Jesus was going to free them from sin.  He knew that God would not abandon them.   Are you waiting in anticipation for the coming of the Lord.   Can you hear the footsteps as the psalmist did?  Glory did dwell in the heart of the psalmist, for He was near.  The same is true today, Glory does dwell in the land.  Spending time each day in the presence of God, listening to His voice is just what the Psalmist did, nothing difficult just simple little steps.

What is God saying to me:  Watch and learn, I Am here in your midst.

Dear Father, I do not understand all the Psalmist dealt with in his culture but I do know Who is strength is.  We also wait upon Your coming, preparing the way for Your footsteps.   Bless this day Lord, thank You for yesterday and the stories that were created.  Prayers for David that is coming home, You are orchestrating all of our lives and no one will be left behind unless they chose the opposite of You.  Help me listen, help me just be.   I ask this in the name of salvation, Jesus Christ, Amen.

Psalms 84 - Blessed are you!

"Blessed are those who dwell in your house! They never cease to praise you. Selah" Psalms‬ ‭84:5‬

Psalms 84 - Blessed are you.  It is a great time to be alive, have you counted your blessings today?  Are you breathing - yup(God loves me). Are you thinking good thoughts - yup(God fed me)  Do you have hope in your heart - yup(God within). Blessed are you! For you dwell in His house.  Now outside His house is a mess, there is pandemonium, there is fear, lack of direction, despair is the norm.  Let us not forget that the devil comes to steal and plunder, what you feed the spirit impacts the body and more importantly the soul.  Live in God's house all the time, rest assured that He has your back, life is a blessing from above, give Him praise and enjoy the day.

What is God saying to me: Put your feet on the floor, we have work to do and lots of it.

Dear Father, there is overwhelming joy in my spirit this morning, I am alive, You are within and I can see.  I am Your faithful servant, ready and willing for the day, the shield is on and I look forward to go into the day.  You are my blessing all the time, You are my source of joy, You are my shield.  I thank You for Your Holy Family that watches over us, bless this morning with hope, give us the words that build up and upon our return this evening, may there be stories to tell that praise You.  Prayers for a friend not knowing how but just knowing, You do not lead us into dead ends but it needs to be clearly thought out.  Thank You Father for another amazing day WITH YOU!  Amen.

Psalms 83 - The King of kings

"See how your enemies rage; your foes proudly raise their heads.

Cover their faces with shame, till they seek your name, LORD.

Let them know that your name is LORD, you alone are the Most High over all the earth."  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭83:3, 17, 19‬

Psalms 83 - The King of kings.   Do you let God fight your battles?  Those opposed to the Israelites wanted to wipe them out, the same for those opposed to Jesus.  Do the Israelites live in fear, do they wish evil upon the other?  No, they ask God to fight the battle, they hope for conversion that they may know who the Lord is.  Be in God's camp, do not be shamed with defeat.  Consult the Commander, seek His help and let Him lead.  There is a peace in knowing that God is in charge.

What is God saying to me:

Dear Father, May we be of one mind and heart when we sit at Your feet.  Fill us with the wisdom to listen, the knowledge to know when and the courage to act on Your behalf.  I thank You Father for being my confident, for giving the insight that You give in Your word.   Lord, I trust in You as we go into this day.  Give me ears to hear and a heart to respond with love that others will come to know You alone are the Most High over all the earth.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Psalms 82 - God or gods?

"A psalm of Asaph. God takes a stand in the divine council, gives judgment in the midst of the gods. "How long will you judge unjustly and favor the cause of the wicked? Selah".  Psalms‬ ‭82:1-2‬

Psalms 82 - God or gods?  In the stillness of the morning, God can hardly be heard, His voice is soft and barely a word.  He allows you the opportunity to contemplate what is being said and how.  Now for gods, are they quiet, do they wait patiently, no just the opposite, they demand service, they speak loudly.  ""Now, therefore, fear the LORD and serve him completely and sincerely. Cast out the gods your ancestors served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD."
‭‭Joshua‬ ‭24:14‬.  Without the stillness in your life, you don't realize how you are serving the gods.  God knocks, are you listening?

What is God saying to me:  I came to serve,  in the stillness I can be heard.  There are no clanging bells or loud outbursts only gentle reassurance that You are on the right path.  Trust in My divine judgement.

Dear Lord God, there is time to think in the stillness, to visit and listen for the path forward.  You are not a god of pressure or demands but the God of justice who sits and listens, gives sage counsel and reveals the mysteries of life.  I thank You for the gentle reminders to be still, to not rush into the day, to empty my thoughts upon You and just be.   Prayers for all those who have rushed into the day, following the gods into oblivion and being overwhelmed by life itself.  Sing Your song Lord into our hearts that we may catch our breath and perceive You in our midst.  Prayers for a family dealing with a medical issue, it will be ok.  Bless this day Father, we are prepared for what it brings.  Amen.

Psalms 81 - You satisfy the hungry heart.

"In distress you called and I rescued you; I answered you in secret with thunder; At the waters of Meribah I tested you: 'Listen, my people, I will testify against you Selah If only you will listen to me, Israel! There shall be no foreign god among you; you shall not bow down to an alien god. 'I am the LORD your God, who brought you up from the land of Egypt. Open wide your mouth that I may fill it.'

Those who hate the LORD will try flattering him, but their fate is fixed forever. But Israel I will feed with the finest wheat, I will satisfy them with honey from the rock."" Psalms‬ ‭81:8-11, 16-17‬

Psalms 81 - You satisfy the hungry heart.  Will God test you?  Yes.  Did God not test Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden.   In these testings, God is growing His roots within your heart.  A plant must grow deep roots if it is to be nourished.  The easy nutrients are only to get it started, in these trials where one has to strive for life giving nutrients, God is fertilizing a mighty oak.   God will remove His consolations to see if it is God you seek or if it is the gifts of God.  The source and summit of our human existence is to Love God with our whole heart and soul.  You will be tested, will you return to the One who gives the finest wheat?  To the One who gives honey from the firm foundation?

What is God saying to me?  Rest in My presence, there is much to do.

Dear Father, I thank You for the small trials that creates strength within.  I know this is a
process that we must all go through to fortify the walls.  I am listening.  Thank You Father for the good rains you have been giving.  I thank You for time spent with family and for what this week has to offer.  I thank You for the tests in my life that make me think.  Prayers for friends near and far that are facing challenges, fortify them Father and make them battle ready.  Bless this day and be ever at my side, Amen.

Psalms 79 - Call upon the Lord

"Help us, God our savior, on account of the glory of your name. Deliver us, pardon our sins for your name's sake."  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭79:9‬

Psalms 79 - Call upon the Lord.  We should always call upon the Lord but when things are going well we give ourselves credit.  In our troubles, when things are overwhelming and no place else to turn we call upon the Lord.  In these moments we recognize that only God can help, He is the only one that can deliver us.  God will give you the graces to deal with the situation and you learn to rely upon Him.  His name's sake, Jesus, is the one who paid for all your sins.   Glorify His name with your life, always call upon Him in good times and bad and trust in the guidance of His Holy Spirit and where He has you.

What is God saying to me: Listen for My voice, I Am never far away.

Dear Father, we struggled this morning with finding the words for today's reflection.  I am trusting in You it accomplishes what You desire.  I thank You for accomplished tasks and time coming with the grandkids, help us make great memories.  Prayers for a family feeling overwhelmed, may You bring peace into their life and thru these situations may You be glorified Father.  Bless this day and May peace reign in our hearts.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Psalms 78 - The constancy of God

"Again and again they tested God, provoked the Holy One of Israel. They did not remember his power, the day he redeemed them from the foe,

From tending ewes God brought him, to shepherd Jacob, his people, Israel, his heritage. He shepherded them with a pure heart; with skilled hands he guided them."  Psalms‬ ‭78:41-42, 71-72‬

Psalms 78 - The constancy of God.  There is a consistent message in God's word, He is constant.  How many times must we experience it before it sinks in, where it becomes part of who we are and we are constant.  We do not wander back and forth but reciprocate the love that Our Father consistently gives us.   These words our from of old but they are playing out before our eyes each day.   Look at the ways we test God, look at the ways that He satisfies us and yet we want more.  The message is simple and the answer is clear, a constant relationship with Jesus, our Savior.  God repeats Himself over and over again, but in reality, the message is the same, He loves you and is constant.  This relationship creates a pure heart, David learned this over his life.

What is God saying to me:  Be still, it is the simple things that bring joy.

Dear Father, I am thankful that You are constant in my life, You reveal Yourself in many ways and open up the living word to my eyes each day.  You will never forsake us and are always ready to give us a new beginning from our missteps.  I pray for that person or persons that needs to hear this message, how much that You love them and even in their failings, Your Son Jesus paid it all.  May You be a constant in their life and create a pure heart within them.  Bless this day Lord, may we return what You have given us, a firm foundation.  Amen.

Psalms 77 - Feeling abandoned.

"I conclude: "My sorrow is this, the right hand of the Most High has abandoned us."

Your way, God, is holy; what god is as great as our God?

You led your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron."  Psalms‬ ‭77:11, 14, 21‬

Psalms 77 - Feeling abandoned.  The new normal, I don't like it!  Looking out when lecturing at church and seeing masks.  Going to the grocery store and seeing the distance between people, plexiglass walls and the lack of human interaction, I feel what David felt.   I question God as to why we are going thru this, why are we being tested like this.  I ponder the plight of Jesus as He sees His world grow louder around Him and I recall the victory.  His ways are not our ways, as we walk with Christ, He will reveal Himself to us, He will give you comfort.  This life is just a passing blip in time before you know, it is over.  Ponder the word of God, see His mighty deeds, we are living in biblical times and God will lead His flock.  As a good friend of mine says: "Get in the boat" and "stay in the boat."   Have a blessed day as you walk with God, it is ok to ask Him why and speak about your frustrations with Him, be sure to listen for His response.

What is God saying to me:  My people perish for lack of knowledge, the world does not want you but I want You.

Dear Father, even in the questioning and my frustrations, You are with me walking by my side, lending an ear to my concerns.  Your word always reveals truth, it contains the answer to our questions thru the lives of others who have gone before us.  Give us wisdom and strength as we navigate these waters.  May we remain calm and not be tossed about by these times.  You are Mighty God and You love each of us, thank You Father for another day, may there always be joy in my heart as we go about.  Triune God be my all!  Triune God be my all! Triune God be my all!  Amen.

Psalms 76 - God is Love

"From the heavens you pronounced sentence; the earth was terrified and reduced to silence, When you arose, O God, for judgment to save the afflicted of the land. Selah". ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭76:9-10‬

Psalms 76 - God is Love.  If one was an outsider looking in, God is powerful and to be feared.  As an insider knowing who God is, He is Love.  There is security in knowing who God is, knowing that He gives us tremendous gifts so we may glorify Him.  Jesus is the greatest gift He could give us to demonstrate His love.  From the outside it seems terrifying for He can not be defeated.  From the inside -   "If you know me, then you will also know my Father. From now on you do know him and have seen him.""
‭‭John‬ ‭14:7‬.  As simple as that is, it is still a journey from the head to the heart, believe in the journey and sit with the Word of God in your hands.   There is nothing to fear about God if you are dining at His table.  He will sanctify you.

What is God saying to me:  live with My Holy fear and be loved by Me.

Dear Father, You are coming back and You are calling Your people into the temple.  Sanctify each of us in this journey, that we may know You and love You as You love us.  May we see the love that You have for us and with an open heart come to You, You will meet us where we are at and invite us in.  Thank You Father for loving me, a sinner and giving me Your Son Jesus.  May I carry this love in my heart out into the world that is on the outside seeking redemption.  Prayers for a friend feeling afflicted, bring him and his family home Father, he has been away for a long time and Is loved by You.  Bless this day Lord, bless my actions and may I bring peace into this day, in Jesus name, amen.

Psalms 75 - God’s Judgement

"But I will rejoice forever; I will sing praise to the God of Jacob, [Who has said:] "I will cut off all the horns of the wicked, but the horns of the righteous will be exalted.""  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭75:10-11‬

Psalms 75 - God's Judgement.  Who is wicked?  "But to the wicked God says: "Why do you recite my commandments and profess my covenant with your mouth? You hate discipline; you cast my words behind you!"  Psalms‬ ‭50:16-17‬.  Are we all not sinners, there is but One who can save us. "For our sake he made him to be sin who did not know sin, so that we might become the righteousness of God in him."  ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:21‬  Recognizing our own sinfulness and seeking the Christ, living as He did as best as we can. "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,". ‭‭Romans‬ ‭3:23‬.  We will rejoice forever and sing praise.

What is God saying to me:

Dear Father, I sit in the silence and just rest in Your presence, listening for Your word.  You have given us another day to go and do what you ask not out of blind allegiance but from the love that You instill within our hearts.  I pray for this day Father, I pray for my loving obedience to Your will.  I pray for right words at the right time.  Thank You for this hope that fills my spirit.  I thank You and will praise You this day, in Jesus name, Amen

Psalms 74 - God whispers

"Let not the oppressed turn back in shame; may the poor and needy praise your name. Arise, God, defend your cause; remember the constant jeering of the fools."  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭74:21-22‬

Psalms 74 - God whispers.  God's sanctuary has been attacked, it has been laid waste.  The people want a response but God is quiet.  What do good people do in these times of their life?  They wait upon the Lord and sing praise, God's reactions are not our reactions.   The attack upon the sanctuary has never stopped, it continues today, it is the constant jeering of the fools.  Learning to listen can be the hardest thing one can do but that is what God asks of us when He is quiet.

What is God saying to me: I see all

Dear Father, You know the story, the beginning and the end.  Help us sing praise when we are wanting a reaction but none appear to becoming.  You are Mighty God and in due time all will bow to You, even the fool.  I enjoy the quiet of the morning Father, I enjoy Your faithfulness and know that You are always there.  Prayers for our leaders Lord, may they be bound by Your love to honor You and Your covenant, give them strength Father.   Bless this day and may praise be always on our lips, Amen.

Psalms 72 - The beauty of Prayer

"May he be like rain coming down upon the fields, like showers watering the earth,"  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭72:6‬

Psalms 72 - The beauty of Prayer.  David writes some of the prettiest prayers, his life has grown and seeks only to glorify God.  Like rain that falls in the fields, prayer takes time to penetrate the heart.  It is in the daily sitting at the feet of Jesus that He is watering the field and producing the fruit that brings about life.  Prayer yields the fruit that God seeks for each of us.  How is your daily prayer life?  Are you listening to Him?

What is God saying to me:  David reveals his relationship with Me in the Psalms, you get to know the man and see him grow.

Dear Father, it is good that we are here, I thank You for giving us King David, a man after Your own heart.  We see his life in the Psalms and witness You watering the fields, seeing the fruits of Your labor.  May this wisdom and knowledge penetrate to the depths of our souls and may our lives sing of Your greatness, as Your son David did.  Bless this day Father, Thank You for sending rain into our fields and bringing about Your Kingdom here on earth.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Psalms 71 - A life of faith

"Yes, my tongue shall recount your justice day by day. For those who sought my ruin have been shamed and disgraced."  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭71:24‬

Psalms 71 - A life of faith.  David goes back in time with God and relives some of his trials.  He has lived a life of faith with God, God shows him that even in those trials he has survived and is with God.  In our own lives, closing your eyes and letting God show you memories of your past and how you have grown from them and how blessed you are for the way that they have turned out.  Living them at the time some were joyful, others were painful but they all served God's purpose.  Seeing God at work in your life when you didn't know God at the time gives you hope for tomorrow.  Recognize that God can only be experienced in the present, not in the past nor in the future.  Knowing He was there in the past gives you strength for the future.  Live in the presence of God and share His joys with others blind to Him, you have experienced a lot.

What is God saying to me: I Am in the presence, this is where you experience Me, time spent listening is time well spent.  Enjoy the view.

Dear Father, I enjoyed our walk this morning, to be guided by You in the events of my life.  Showing me how You we're present in that time and I did not recognize You being there.  May my days ahead always experience You in the presence and find comfort in knowing You are there.  Prayers for a Father grieving his son's decision, build him up Lord and bring glory to Your name thru this situation.  Bless this day Father, lets continue our walk, Amen.

Psalms 70 - God focused

"But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you, Those who long for your help always say, "God be glorified!"  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭70:5‬

Psalms 70 - God focused.  David's discipleship seeks the God of gifts, not the gifts of God, there is a difference.  In our own discipleship and life's journey our focus can be on self and not on God.  Maybe you find yourself in a tight spot like David, the outcome looks bleak or the pain is too great to bare.  David was in such a place but his focus wasn't on self, it is on God: "God be glorified."  This is acceptance of ones circumstances and trusting in the wisdom and guidance of our Heavenly Father.

"Let those who seek my life be confused and put to shame. Let those who desire my ruin turn back in disgrace."  Psalms‬ ‭70:3‬.  Those who sought the life of Jesus were disgraced, they were put to shame for on the third day He rose from the grave.  There is no resurrection without suffering, David has learned this and lives his life not for self but for God.  Be blessed today and seek Him, rejoice and be glad there is a purpose.

What is God saying to me:

Dear Father, there is purpose in everything that we experience, it prepares us for a better life.  We are being purified and are learning to take our eyes off of self and place them upon You.  This is a lesson that Your son David learned and accepted his circumstances of life and trusted in Your Divine will.  Prayers for those living with pain, may their focus be upon You Father and in their sufferings may they offer them up to You as David did.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Psalms 69 - David/Jesus

"Because zeal for your house has consumed me, I am scorned by those who scorn you."  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭69:10‬

Psalms 69 - David/Jesus.  David must of gone against the culture of his time, he must of been a contradiction to them.  His love for God shows in his words and the pain that he felt for his convictions shows as well.  The words were the words of Jesus's trial, conviction and crucifixion but David was living them many years earlier.  What about you, does your life stand as a contradiction to the popular culture of this day?  Has the love of God consumed you and you are facing various trials and persecutions.  ""I know your works; I know that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either cold or hot. So, because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth."
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭3:15-16‬.  David's life speaks of his passion for Christ therefore his name should read David/Jesus.

What is God saying to me: You face trials not to be tested but to be strengthened.  You will remember this lesson for future use.

Dear Father, it is a battlefield and unsuspecting suspects are engaged including myself.  I am sorry that you felt pain because of my actions, I trust in Your guidance Lord.  I know You hear us Lord, Your word speaks truth: "See, you lowly ones, and be glad; you who seek God, take heart! For the LORD hears the poor, and does not spurn those in bondage."  Psalms‬ ‭69:33-34‬.  I thank You for Your Holy Family and for them always being present in my life.  In our times of need may we remember to reach out.  Bless this day Father, there is much to learn.  I ask this in Your Sons name, Jesus Christ, Amen.

Psalms 68 - Blessed be God

"Confess the power of God, whose majesty protects Israel, whose power is in the sky. Awesome is God in his holy place, the God of Israel, who gives power and strength to his people. Blessed be God!"  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭68:35-36‬

Psalms 68 - Blessed be God.  We all face battles of various kinds, it is in Knowing where our true strength comes from.  David recalls the victories that God has had thru out history, in this he sees the strength, he see the story being written.  In our own daily lives we are called to reflect upon His word, use His judgement and make right decision in moving forward.  Blessed be God for he can not be defeated no matter the circumstance.

What is God saying to me:  Do you trust me?

Dear Father, I see David contemplating Your word and gleaming insight into the path forward.  He knows that life is better with You than without You.  Give us strength each day to lay down our lives and trust in Your Divine providence.  Give us the grace to look back in time and see the way forward.  Father, You know that I trust You for there is no place else to go, You have proven that in my life with my trials and wanderings.  Prayers for those on the battle field, give them strength Lord to endure the fight, help them see the future and help them focus on You.  I ask this in Jesus name, our Savior, Amen.

Psalms 67 - The coming Kingdom.  I planted a garden this year, the first garden we have had in a long time.  It has yielded some vegetables and it is a joy to watch.  How the plants grow, I do not know but they grow a little each day.  God's Kingdom is growing as well, King David is thankful for his crop and also thankful for the coming harvest.  In life, we need to learn to be thankful even when it does not look like anything is happening.  God is at work and He sees the fruits, He needs those that will plant, work the vineyards and when the time is right, we will all sing praise.  Are you praising God even if it isn't happening right now?

What is God saying to me:  My will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.

Dear Father, we are all made in Your image and likeness, with Your God given talents.  Let us not underestimate what You are capable of doing with our efforts.  You can do much with little as long as we have faith and do not focus on the now but upon the harvest.  Father, my prayer is for hope, for those who have been called and are struggling to understand that it takes time to grow roots, to get established.  You build the best foundation when we trust in You, and work like it depends upon us.  You will yield the harvest when the time is right.  In You I hope and trust in each day You give me breath.  Bless this day and the things You ask of each of us.  Amen.

Psalms 66 - Saved

"Come and hear, all you who fear God, while I recount what has been done for me. I called to him with my mouth; praise was upon my tongue. Had I cherished evil in my heart, the Lord would not have heard. But God did hear and listened to my voice in prayer. Blessed be God, who did not reject my prayer and refuse his mercy."  Psalms‬ ‭66:16-20‬

Psalms 66 - Saved.  The Bible is full of stories about people being rescued and being saved, David recounts these stories.  We have all heard the same stories but until we can recount what God has done for me, it becomes our own.  David was blessed by God all his life and in his wanderings strayed from His teachings, in these times we realize what is important and from a distance God calls out to us.  Being thankful for who made you, carrys you and leads you is the beginning of hope.  Like David, we can be rescued and fall back into the trap, begin each day with praise on your lips and live the holy life God calls you too.

What is God saying to me:  Pray for him.

Dear Father, I am blessed this morning to reflect upon the life of David, to see the parallels and realize the graces that You give us.   I thank You for this week and the blessings that wait to be discovered, may praise be always on my lips even when things may not be going my way, You will see us through it.  Prayers for a friend in a battle, like David, You will hear his voice.  Bless this day Father, may we enjoy the beauty it has to offer.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Psalms 65 - Chosen. Happy Mother’s Day.

"Blessed the one whom you will choose and bring to dwell in your courts. May we be filled with the good things of your house, your holy temple!"  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭65:5‬

Psalms 65 - Chosen.  Living a holy life is a choice, we are each chosen for this life and in turn we must chose how we are to live.   Will we let God fill us with streams of life, will we listen to Him and read His word.  These are dedicated actions, that with God's help we will achieve.  Simple daily choices to know God and to know who He is.  When we do choose to live this way, God fills His creation with good things.  Mary, the mother of Jesus, chose this life.  She is honored to have been brought to dwell in His courts.  I realize this is a stretch for some of you, there is a reason it is called faith.

What is God saying to me: In due time all things will be made known, until then choose abundant life.

Dear Father, we are blessed to have living examples of what a holy life looks like.  I thank You this morning for giving us Your holy family, may we imitate their actions in our daily lives.  May we worship You, avoid sin and the near occasion of sin and allow You to fill Your holy temple.  Father, Thank You for my earthly mother, she is a blessing and a faithful woman.  Thank You Father for the mother of my children, she is a dream and a blessing to grow old with, may we grow old together.  Thank You Father for the woman you choose to carry Your Son, my brother, may we call her blessed among woman as You Yourself do.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Happy Mother's Day, call your mother today and tell them you love them.  If she has passed from this world, call her in prayer, God will relay the message, for nothing is impossible for Him.

Psalms 64 - Balance

"They devise wicked schemes, conceal the schemes they devise; the designs of their hearts are hidden. God shoots an arrow at them; in a moment they are struck down.

The righteous rejoices and takes refuge in the LORD; all the upright give praise."  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭64:7-8, 11‬

Psalms 64 - Balance.  David is living a balanced life, he is in the world but not of the world.  He sees the schemes of the wicked and he knows that God sees as well.  He does not concern himself with these schemes for in his entire life God has struck them down.  David with one rock, seemingly impossibly odds, strikes Goliath and he falls to the ground.  His life of faith has taught him that God is the source and he trusts in God completely.  His life of prayer gives him vision, it produces balance so even though it seems insurmountable, God will see him through.  Maintain balance in your life, it begins with prayer for when you are on the side of God, in the blink of an eye it all changes.  Have a blessed day!

What is God saying to me:

Dear Father, It has been a blessed morning sitting at Your feet listening to Your word speak within my spirit.  You see the schemes and are allowing us to build our faith.  I thank You Father for all the blessings of this past week, lots of generous offerings, all balanced by prayer.  Prayers for all who are having their world upended, prayers for balance in their lives, prayers of hope, knowing You are in charge.  Continue singing the song Father, I am listening.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Psalms 63 - God’s Physical Presence.

"O God, you are my God— it is you I seek! For you my body yearns; for you my soul thirsts, In a land parched, lifeless, and without water. I look to you in the sanctuary to see your power and glory. For your love is better than life; my lips shall ever praise you!"  Psalms‬ ‭63:2-4‬

Psalms 63 - God's Physical Presence.  King David is before God in the holy of Holy's, he is physically in God's presence.  Moses was physically in God's presence.  The Apostles were physically in God's presence.  David's body pined for God, he wanted that more than life.  We have been physically kept from God's Church, can you relate to David's thirstiness?   We are each given these consolations in life that purifies our thoughts and desires.  God is calling out to those who are seeking Him.  In the stillness sit and listen, experience the love the Father has for you, it is better than life itself, it is almost Heaven.

What is God saying to me: I place those thoughts within you, My timing is always perfect, you will see for yourself.  Stay the course.

Dear Father God, I see Your Holy Family before me and my body pines for You.  I see the deception that parches the land and draws your faithful away.  I place myself at Your feet Father and just listen, I know You are working all things out for good.  Thank You for the gifts of the Holy Spirit this past week.  Thank You for keeping me in front of You and for not being drawn away.  Prayers of thanksgiving for answered prayers.  Prayers for a Deacon friend Father, You know how faithful he is.  Bless our time together this morning, we know You will be with us.    I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Psalms 62 - True Wealth

"My soul rests in God alone, from whom comes my salvation. God alone is my rock and salvation, my fortress; I shall never fall."  Psalms‬ ‭62:2-3‬

Psalms 62 - True Wealth.  Life's lessons can be hard to learn and life is a great teacher.  I recall a younger period in my life where I was the king of my world, I worked, I struggled, I failed(a lot).  I was not at peace within and God was a thought once a week, maybe.  Looking back with eyes of understanding I see my error, God, daily prayer, seeking His help, reading the Bible.  Put your trust in God, give Him your fears and doubts, your struggles and anxieties.  He will replace them with hope, a strong foundation, peace, joy and understanding.  Today I know that to my core, I wish I would have learned it sooner, my soul rests in God alone.

What is God saying to me: I will do what you ask.

Dear Father, I praise and honor You today, I place my hope and trust in You and I know all is well for You are my Father.  Lord, put prayer in our lips, give us a heart to study, make us wise beyond our years, send down Your Holy Spirit upon us.  Father I pray for a young family with a heavy load trusting in You, lift up their spirits with joyful news.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Psalms 61 - Vision

"May he reign before God forever; send your love and fidelity to preserve him— I will duly sing to your name forever, fulfill my vows day after day."  Psalms‬ ‭61:8-9‬

Psalms 61 - Vision.  What in David's life caused him to make a vow to God that transformed him to live beyond today?  David has made a commitment to God, one that he asks for strength from above, he knows his own human weaknesses and also knows the strength of God.  His vision isn't on tomorrow or the next day, it is on eternity.  Our hearts need hope in them, focused on the prize and relying upon God, nothing will interfere with the vow.  Do you have the vision David has?  Have you made your vows to God?

What is God saying to me: a little is giving each day and the picture is becoming brighter.  I Am here to help but you must stay the course.

Dear Father, I love seeing the heart of David, watching him change and grow within Your word, thank You for giving us the life of David, a man after Jesus's heart.  Send Your love and fidelity into our hearts Lord that we may live out the vision You have intended for each of us.  Thank You for transforming lives and filling them with hope, it is a joy to see, give them vision beyond tomorrow and fill them with hope.  Prayers for those living in fear, raise them up into a mighty army that seeks to glorify Your name.  Amen.  Triune God be my all!  Triune God be my all! Triune God be my all!

Psalms 60 - Endurance produces character.

"O God, you rejected us, broke our defenses; you were angry but now revive us.

In the sanctuary God promised: "I will exult, will apportion Shechem; the valley of Succoth I will measure out.

We will triumph with the help of God, who will trample down our foes."  Psalms‬ ‭60:3, 8, 14‬

Psalms 60 - Endurance produces character.  David suffers a loss in battle and speaks to God.  Notice how God speaks back, He gives David a memory which puts vigor back into his step.  Did David let his ego get in the way and forget his strength was from God.  Did God have to let David experience loss to remind Him of who was in charge.  God at times gets our attention out of love so we can hear His voice.  It is easy to be enticed by this world, it is a battle, God is playing for keeps and so is the devil.  Speak to God and listen, He will build hope.

What is God saying to me: You listened and observed

Dear Father, I am grateful to witness You and David having a conversation, in it we see the heart of a man who loves You and Your response.  Help us understand prayer and the prayers of others in the Bible.  Lord, You know this life isn't easy, I thank You for the character building in the losses, I thank You for the gift of hope as we go through the valley of tears, You are my strength and even though I fail at times, You are there to carry me forward.  Bless this day Father, Thank You for answered prayers and for lives that have been rejuvenated, ready to go back into battle with renewed strength.  Amen.

Psalms 59 - God is our strength

"They roam about as scavengers; if they are not filled, they howl. But I shall sing of your strength, extol your mercy at dawn, For you are my fortress, my refuge in time of trouble. My strength, your praise I will sing; you, God, are my fortress, my loving God."  Psalms‬ ‭59:16-18‬

Psalms 59 -  God is our strength.  As Christians are we sheltered from afflictions?  Was David sheltered?  What about Jesus?  What makes you think you Are different.  Learning to turn to Him and ask for help, ask for His strength.  David did this when Saul was hunting him down.  Jesus did this when the trap was being laid for Him.  As Christians we are shown that in our times of need God will speak into our spirits and give us strength, turn to him and take refuge.

What is God saying to me: I will provide

Dear Father, You are my strength and I awake the dawn at Your feet.  You are my guide, my confidant, my strength in my times of need.  Lord You have never failed anyone who has turned to You and I thank You for this strength.  You will see us through these situations, the victory is Yours.  Be our protection today Father, watch over us and keep us out of harms way.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Psalms 58 - God or gods?

"Suddenly, like brambles or thistles, have the whirlwind snatch them away."  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭58:10‬

Psalms 58 - God or gods?  Whom do you serve?  David looks out upon the world and sees the wicked and evil that goes on.  Sees the worshipping of false pagan gods, he knows there is only one true God.  And He is a God of mercy and a God of justice, David calls upon the God of justice.  God will judge justly when the time comes, today He asks whom do you serve?  Is it His voice you hear or the voice of false gods?  Come Holy Spirit and open the ears of Your faithful.

What is God saying to me:  In your time of need, you called upon Me and I answered.

Dear Father, I hear Your voice in the quiet of my heart leading me home.  I see the seduction of false gods seeking to lead us astray, be stronger within us God, protect us from the trappings of the evil one.  Prayers for a friend in the hospital may he be released soon and return to a normal life.  Prayers for those who fail to hear your voice and are being laid astray, bring them home Father.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Psalms 57 - Surrounded by Grace

"My heart is steadfast, God, my heart is steadfast. I will sing and chant praise." Psalms‬ ‭57:8‬

Psalms 57 - Surrounded by Grace.  David is at peace while his world around him is in disarray.  How is this possible?  I sat this morning and welcomed the day, listened to the birds chirp and the bees go about their activities.  I watched as God showed me the beauty that surrounds each of us and the strength that He provides when we welcome the day with God in your heart.  I also heard the noises the disrupt the peace and calm, the birds kept chirping, the bees kept working.  Taking time each day and reflecting upon God's word builds strength, you recognize where peace comes from.  David found this peace in the midst of what was going on around him, so can you.  Breathe, God has got this.

What is God saying to me: Be at rest, nothing can harm you, you are Mine.

Dear Lord God, such a pretty morning to witness to You that surrounds me.  Help me carry this the rest of the day.  Prayers for those with cancer, give them strength, blessings upon Your faithful servants.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Psalms 56 - Covenant Union.

"My foes turn back when I call on you. This I know: God is on my side. I praise the word of God, I praise the word of the LORD. In God I trust, I do not fear. What can man do to me?" ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭56:10-12‬

Psalms 56 - Covenant Union.  "I praise the word of God", David is in peril, he is under attack, every thing looks bleak from a worldly sense yet David is at peace.  He knows God's word, he knows God's promises, he knows God's heart and he is not filled with fear, he is at peace.  This is Covenant Union for he knows who he belongs too for he has worked on his relationship.  He has spent time with God, in His word, in His heart, in His actions.   Does life knock you down?  Maybe you need to know what God knows, praise His word and live in the Risen Christ.

What is God saying to me:  All is well

Dear Father, I sing praise this morning as we visit, Your words echo in my head and resonate within my heart, in You I trust.  Prayers for a friend fighting an illness, prayers for another who is recovering from an accident.  Prayers for an unspoken prayer that God's healing touch be revealed.  Thank you for this day Father, May we put Your word into action, Amen.
