Psalms 70 - God focused

"But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you, Those who long for your help always say, "God be glorified!"  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭70:5‬

Psalms 70 - God focused.  David's discipleship seeks the God of gifts, not the gifts of God, there is a difference.  In our own discipleship and life's journey our focus can be on self and not on God.  Maybe you find yourself in a tight spot like David, the outcome looks bleak or the pain is too great to bare.  David was in such a place but his focus wasn't on self, it is on God: "God be glorified."  This is acceptance of ones circumstances and trusting in the wisdom and guidance of our Heavenly Father.

"Let those who seek my life be confused and put to shame. Let those who desire my ruin turn back in disgrace."  Psalms‬ ‭70:3‬.  Those who sought the life of Jesus were disgraced, they were put to shame for on the third day He rose from the grave.  There is no resurrection without suffering, David has learned this and lives his life not for self but for God.  Be blessed today and seek Him, rejoice and be glad there is a purpose.

What is God saying to me:

Dear Father, there is purpose in everything that we experience, it prepares us for a better life.  We are being purified and are learning to take our eyes off of self and place them upon You.  This is a lesson that Your son David learned and accepted his circumstances of life and trusted in Your Divine will.  Prayers for those living with pain, may their focus be upon You Father and in their sufferings may they offer them up to You as David did.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
