ANIMA CHRISTI PRAYER:
"Soul of Christ, Sanctify me, Body of Christ, save me, Blood of Christ, inebriate me, Water from the side of Christ, wash me, Passion of Christ, Strengthen me, O Good Jesus hear me, Within Thy wounds, hide me, Permit me not to be separated from Thee, From the wicked foe defend me, At the Hour of my death, call me, And bid me come to Thee, That with Thy saints I may praise Thee, For ever and ever. Amen."
Pray the Prayer three times, slowly, pondering each petition:
Today is a new beginning with the exercises of St Ignatius of Loyola. It wasn't easy to sit this morning and quietly contemplate this prayer with Jesus. I seen a man not being judgmental, I seen a man not manipulating the outcome, I seen a man willing accepting Divine outcome then I seen myself as I struggle to be come more Christ like being all of the things Jesus wasn't. We have choices each day on how we respond to others, Christ's response was always done out of love, may this become my drum beat.
My thoughts will be real and sometimes raw, you can choose to follow along or not but I encourage you to sit in prayer with the Holy Spirit and contemplate this prayer in your own life. Over the next six months, God willing(He is) I will be doing St Ignatius's thirty day retreat. If you would like additional information on it, send an email or message and I will provide more details.
What is God saying to me: I see the struggle and this is all part of the journey. Jesus had frustrations but they were only shared with Me. He knew the impact sin has on the lives of others, He being sinless didn't face these challenges but you have choices each day to avoid the trappings of this world just like Jesus did. Do not cloud your vision with unrealistic expectations, My Divine Will, will conquer sin in your life.
Dear Father, I trust in You for the outcome of this day, help me live as Your Son Jesus did. I am thankful for this journey and this opportunity, I have begun well, give me the strength to finish well. Prayers for friends fighting Covid, give them peace in their families and the knowledge that You are God nothing happens without Your Divine will and our obedience. Watch over us this day and keep us save. In Jesus name, Amen.
