Week 2, Day 1 of Mold me.



Read #23 from The Spiritual Exercises first, ask for the grace to make it the foundation of your discipleship:

"(#23) First Principle and Foundation

Man is created to praise, reverence, and serve God our Lord, and by this means to save his soul.

The other things on the face of the earth are created for man to help him in attaining the end for which he is created.

Hence, man is to make use of them in as far as they help him in the attainment of his end, and he must rid himself of them in as far as they prove a hindrance to him.

Therefore, we must make ourselves indifferent to all created things, as far as we are allowed free choice and are not under any prohibition. Consequently, as far as we are concerned, we should not prefer health to sickness, riches to poverty, honor to dishonor, a long life to a short life. The same holds for all other things.

Our one desire and choice should be what is more conducive to the end for which we are created."  Louis J. Puhl, S.J.

What is God saying to me: The circumstances of your life are there for you to attain the desired result, Heaven.  This morning and this past week you are seeing how your reactions to situations beyond your control is interfering with this purpose.  Being indifferent to the outcome is not easy especially for someone who has been in a position of control in his life.  Take each of these situations and see where I Am at and where you are at.  We need to be in alignment and not in conflict, my response has always been gentle, learn this response with others.  

Dear Father, I ask for the grace of indifference neither healthy or sick, neither rich or poor, neither long life or short life.  You are the keeper of my soul and my desire is your desire to be together for ever.  I trust Your Divine judgement for my live and seek nothing but to please You.  I enter Your court with a willing heart and holy fear.  Thank You for all the situations of my life, each of them in their own way provides purification of my soul as long as I am attentive to Your will.  Prayers for the outcome You desire and the growth that will come along with that.  In Jesus name, Amen.
