Man is created to praise, reverence, and serve God our Lord, and by this means to save his soul.
The other things on the face of the earth are created for man to help him in attaining the end for which he is created.
Hence, man is to make use of them in as far as they help him in the attainment of his end, and he must rid himself of them in as far as they prove a hindrance to him.
Therefore, we must make ourselves indifferent to all created things, as far as we are allowed free choice and are not under any prohibition. Consequently, as far as we are concerned, we should not prefer health to sickness, riches to poverty, honor to dishonor, a long life to a short life. The same holds for all other things.

Spiritual Exercises can be confusing when first starting out, they were for me my first go around, I encourage you to stick to the process Today is a day of repetition, another opportunity for God's voice to reenforce His message. Trust God in what He is doing with in you, the truths that the Holy Spirit reveals in you will require time for you to get to the point of indifference.
What is God saying to me: Are you willing to face misgivings, humiliation and misunderstandings as I reveal truth to You This is counter to the culture and many do not understand, this inward journey, for they try to cover it up or hide it from sight. We have begun and I have started a good works in you, I will see it through to the end, trust in the process.
Dear Lord, this is a personal journey and at times is not easy to accept, I am thankful that You are on the inside helping me navigate these thoughts and showing me what needs to be seen. I trust in You and what You are doing. I ask for forgiveness in my judgements of others, it is I that I need to focus on. Prayers for a friend grieving the loss of his wife, prayers for his pain that he is feeling, watch over his family and bring him to his desire at the end of life. I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
