Week 14 - The Journey Day 1
"John testified further, saying, "I saw the Spirit come down like a dove from the sky and remain upon him. I did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, 'On whomever you see the Spirit come down and remain, he is the one who will baptize with the holy Spirit.'" John 1:32-33
Where to now? Where God asks me to go and low and behold the written word of God giving us an example of "what is God saying to me?" John the Baptist didn't operate on his own authority, He was obedient to the will of God. He found time away from the madness of the world and spent time with God.
Listening to God requires a trained ear, an obedient heart, trust and patience. In your heart you will hear Him speak, now your will must submit to His will and at times this will be difficult because He will stretch you beyond your comfort zone. God wants us to grow closer to Him and this requires trust along with faith. Patience in continuing forward even when doubt creeps in and nothing seems to be happening.
How many days did John have to wait for the Messiah? Each day brought more and more people but no. Messiah. And then what God told him became reality. It is Jesus who baptizes with the Holy Spirit and John has seen the light of day. Let's see what God is asking of each of us. What is God asking of me? (Write your answer down and trust in that small still quiet voice)
What is God asking of me? Stay the course, you are on the journey many have taken. Their stories are written for you to read. Today will be a good day for I am with you.
Dear Father, this day is new and for what ever reason foreign maybe because the plan is unknown. You know me better than I know myself. Thank You for revealing the next step even though it may only be a glimpse. Prayers for those that are sick and feeling alone, may they hear You speak the words "all will be well with you." Thank You Father for a great meeting, and another one that will happen today. Continue drawing in the picture. I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
Mary, Queen of Peace, Pray For us.
St Joesph, Most Strong, Pray for us.
Viva Cristo Rey
