Jesus is telling us what is required to be in the family of God. We listen each time we hear a homily but do we act. To follow Christ and be part of His family requires faith to act upon His word. To trust in the King of Glory and act upon His direction. Some can take this scripture out of context and miss its meaning, Jesus loved His mother. She was chosen before time to carry Him into this world. Do you act upon His word? "Then he said to the disciple, "Behold, your mother." And from that hour the disciple took her into his home." John 19:27. Do you honor the mother of Christ as Jesus did?
Dear Lord God, You invite us into Your covenant family, we are blessed to be able to call upon the Father, Son and Holy Ghost to guide us through the day. Thank You for showing us how to respect Mary, our spiritual mother. Your word is truth, You are love, teach me Your ways and build Your Kingdom upon earth. May I always act out my faith and belief as I go through this world. To God be the glory, Amen.
