Daily Thoughts 9-4-2017 Luke 4:21-22, 28-30

"He said to them, "Today this scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing." And all spoke highly of him and were amazed at the gracious words that came from his mouth. They also asked, "Isn't this the son of Joseph?"

When the people in the synagogue heard this, they were all filled with fury. They rose up, drove him out of the town, and led him to the brow of the hill on which their town had been built, to hurl him down headlong. But he passed through the midst of them and went away." ‭‭Luke‬ ‭4:21-22, 28-30‬

Jesus was preaching in the synagogue of His hometown, His audience were in disbelief, here was the son of Mary, a carpenter's son preaching.  They could not accept what Jesus was telling them.  They seen a man whom they watched growing up and now He was telling them that the prophecy of Isaiah was being fulfilled.   Their prejudice to His past had blinded them.  How many times do we feel rejected by those closest to us because of our past.   Like Jesus we are to keep walking on and not let their unbelief deter us from His purpose.

Dear Lord God, help me push through when I feel rejected.  Help me see beyond the current situation and look forward to tomorrow.  Bless these words to make a difference in someone's life.  Bring the Joy of Christ to all who believe, give us the grace of perseverance when trials and rejection comes.  I thank You for Your love.  May today be filled with Your hope.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Spouse of the Holy Spirit, pray for us.
