"There is a baptism with which I must be baptized, and how great is my anguish until it is accomplished!" Luke 12:50
Jesus saw His future coming, He seen the outcome of His work approaching, His life would be called for to hang on a cross and He would be baptized in His own blood. He did this for each of us and we were in His thoughts as He walked that walk. Would we accept new life in Him, will we carry the cross for Him. Will we proclaim His message and face the same persecution in our own lives, knowing what is right and just to enter into heaven and bring others with us. To whom much is given much is expected. We will not face the same anguish but we will face our own trials to prepare the way for the Lord.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for dying on a cross so I may live forever. My challenges in life are nothing like yours, help me see them as opportunities to know You deeper. May I reflect upon your trials and take joy in mine that in some small way they can be used to glorify You. Bless this day Lord and this coming weekend. Watch over Your family and protect them. Send Your Holy Spirit into our lives and deepen our relationship with You. I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
Mary, Queen of Confessors, pray for us.
