Daily Thoughts 10-29-2017 Matthew 22:37-38

"He said to him, "You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment." Matthew‬ ‭22:37-38‬

Seems like a simple commandment doesn't it, we are to honor the God of the Universe and our creator, with all our heart and all our soul and all our mind.  What do our actions really say about this bible verse?  Do we love God when our neighbor offends us and we lash out?  Do we love with all our heart when we choose to skip spending time with God?   Are We any different than the people of Jesus's time.  They flocked to Him to be healed and yet they yelled "Crucify Him, Crucify Him", when He really needed them.   God asks us to look at our lives and make a decision to be offended, take it on the chin, to speak with love, to walk with each other and help them see Christ in action.   Otherwise we are nothing but a sounding clang that our faith rings hollow, no different than the Pharisees.  Do you love your neighbor to the point you would die for them, Jesus loved us that much.

"if then my people, upon whom my name has been pronounced, humble themselves and pray, and seek my face and turn from their evil ways, I will hear them from heaven and pardon their sins and heal their land." ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭7:14‬  it is you that will heal our land by actions, loving actions that do not condemn.   Remember Christ has no hands but yours, no feet but yours, no eyes but yours, no ears but yours, no voice but yours, YOU are His body!

Dear Father God, I love You, I love You, I love You.  Give me the grace to respond in love like You did when I am being hurt.  Give me the grace to love my neighbor when I don't feel like it.  Pour out Your grace on each of us that we always will love You no matter what comes our way.  Help us carry our cross that You lovingly give us for only You know how to strengthen each of us for eternity.  Lord, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner, may I not fail You today and if I do may I accept Your forgiveness and move on.  Amen!

Mary, Mother of Love, pray for us.
