www.dailythoughts.com 3-21-2018 John 8:41-42

"You are doing the works of your father!" [So] they said to him, "We are not illegitimate. We have one Father, God." Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and am here; I did not come on my own, but he sent me." John‬ ‭8:41-42‬

I am reminded this morning of my sinful ways, each day presents a different set of challenges.  I can be no different than those who are claiming to be a rightful Aire and are illegitimate.  I am thankful that I am not a slave to sin, even though I fell under the weight of the cross.  I thought I could carry it by myself, but I get up with God's help and go again.  As a Catholic we have the stations of the cross each Friday during lent.  It isn't a recreation of Jesus's suffering to punish Him again, it is a reminder that we too walk the way of the cross each day, some days are good and some days aren't.  In our sufferings there is joy in knowing Christ freed us from sin, I get another day to go again.   The depth of knowledge we learn when we take the blinders off is a good thing and it is from God, for God is Love.  Are you condemning Christ as the Pharisees did?

Dear Lord God teach me Your ways and affirm my adoption into Your Kingdom.  Remove the blinders that I allow and You take the reigns.  Jesus, I trust in You.

O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee, and I detest all my sins because of Thy just punishments, but most of all because they offend Thee, my God, Who art all-good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy grace, to sin no more and to avoid the near occasions of sin.  Amen.

Mary, Mother of Love, pray for us.

Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.  1 John 4:4b
