Psalms 147 - Fire and Ice

"He disperses hail like crumbs. Who can withstand his cold?"  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭147:17‬

Psalms 147 - Fire and Ice.  Have you ever been so cold it burns, your body aches and you are just miserable?   This is the feeling we get when we remove God from our lives, our soul aches and we hurt.  Not really knowing it is God that we need, we turn to vices to help us feel better, there are a lot of vices, no need to give them words here.  At some point the soul recognizes the need for God, the need for His warmth and His love.  He warms the heart, He cures the sick, He removes the vices.  God isn't cold, the devil is, you may not believe in God but I know you have felt the cold without Him in your life to protect you.  Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.  1 John 4:4b

What is God saying to me:

Dear Father, I feel Your loving embrace, Your arms wrapped around me when we speak.  I thank You for listening and hearing my prayer.  I know You are working all things out and some of us our hard headed and the cold is what is needed to bring them back to the source of the fire, Your love.  Protect Your children Lord from the deception that is going on today, draw us closer to You so we are better prepared each day.  Prayers for a friend caught in a hail storm, may he see the cause of his dilemma.  Be louder in our lives Lord and cast away the devil from those he has a gripe upon.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Psalms 146 - Free will

The LORD sets prisoners free. Psalms‬ ‭146:7‬b

Psalms 146 - Free Will. Does your circumstances control your spirit?  We look to the Lord to solve our problems and it was us who put us there.  Can we experience freedom in the circumstances?  Yes.  Jesus was free as He carried His cross.  Saint Paul was free while he was being held captive.  Are the circumstances there to help you grow closer to God so you can be set free in the circumstances.  Freedom can be experienced in all situations if you are walking in faith and trusting God.  "Blessed the one whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD, his God,"  Psalms‬ ‭146:5‬

What is God saying to me:  The road less traveled isn't easy, when you follow Me you will be persecuted.  The prize awaits those willing to go.

Dear Father God, I thank You for this day, I thank You for the words of hope and faith.  I thank You for the companionship of Your Holy Spirit.  I thank You for prison doors removed and the experience of everlasting freedom.  You know the road ahead, I Am willing, You lead the way.  Prayers for a friend beginning a new career, protect him Lord from the jail keeper.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Psalms 145 - knowing

"The eyes of all look hopefully to you; you give them their food in due season. You open wide your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing."  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭145:15-16‬

Psalms 145 - knowing.   The eyes of the Lord are upon you, He gazes down and looks to see what you are doing.  In the stillness He waits to see if we will look back and seek Him out.  Will we wait patiently upon Him to respond or will we get frustrated.  Be a part of God's plan and just be, knowing that He is there satisfying the one desire we have and that is to be united with Him forever.

What is God saying to me:  I Am here, never faraway

Dear Lord, there is much going on, to sit still isn't easy but it brings about the desire of my heart.  I thank You for leading and teaching me, Your ways are always best and I trust in You.  Bless this day Father, You know all and we will wait for You.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Psalms 144 - Training

"Of David. Blessed be the LORD, my rock, who trains my hands for battle, my fingers for war;

May there be no breach in the walls, no exile, no outcry in our streets. Blessed the people so fortunate; blessed the people whose God is the LORD."  Psalms‬ ‭144:1, 14-15‬

Psalms 144 - Training.  The battlefield is the mind, the soul is the prize, the training happens in the quiet of your heart as you listen to God.  Jesus never fought fire with Fire, He fought it with the love of God, He fought it with the Word and this was His sword.  When we follow God into battle, we will surely win, when we run ahead of God, we will be defeated.  The Son of Man faced the greatest battle and never lifted a finger, remember this in your own battles.  Do as Jesus did and let God fight the battle.

What is God saying to me:

Dear Lord, it is a jungle out there and in here You have prepared hearts to defeat the evil that seeks the prize.  Be our peace in time of turmoil, be our strength in time of need, may we entrust ourselves to You and wait patiently upon Your word.  "For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example that you should follow in his footsteps."  ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭2:21‬   Bless this day Father, go before us as You speak to the heart.  Amen.

Psalms 143 - Sinfulness.

"For your name's sake, LORD, give me life; in your righteousness lead my soul out of distress. In your mercy put an end to my foes; all those who are oppressing my soul, for I am your servant."  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭143:11-12‬

Psalms 143 - Sinfulness.  I contemplate my own sinfulness this morning knowing there are sins that I Am not fully aware of, yet I know that there are no actions other than Loving my Father that will redeem me.  This awareness of our owns sins, the awareness of His love for us and our desire to love Him in return brings about hope in our actions.  In this relationship He reminds us of our own weaknesses and His strength, He is greater when we are together having a constant conversation.  When His voice is stronger, the foe is silenced, peace enters in and we are called into redemption.  You speak and I listen.

What is God saying to me: I feed those who seek Me out.

Dear Father, it is a beautiful morning to sit and visit, to watch You paint the sky and wake the day.  Help me us see the beauty that surrounds us and help us recognize the gift of life that You give us.  Thank You for the beauty of old age and the constant reminder that we are loved.  Prayers for friends traveling today, keep them safe.  Prayers for friends that are sick, give them comfort.  May we have a youthful exuberance in our actions, I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Psalms 142 - Freedom

"Lead my soul from prison, that I may give thanks to your name. Then the righteous shall gather around me because you have been good to me."  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭142:8‬

Psalms 142 - Freedom.  "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring glad tidings to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free,". ‭‭Luke‬ ‭4:18‬.  When we listen to Jesus we enter into a new world, We hear God and experience His loving kindness.  Like any prisoner that has been set free, it takes time to adapt to this new world.  We are thankful, very thankful for this new found freedom, you are no longer running from God but running to Him.  You see what He sees and you accept what He sees because you know you are loved by Him.  Call upon God, listen to Him and be free from the trappings of sin for you avoid what causes Him pain.

What is God saying to me:

Dear Father, I experience freedom with You Lord, I am the child of the King who lives with You.  I Am thankful to walk in Your presence and be free.  Help us see Father the beauty of Your creation, the joy of living in Your presence and the peace that comes with accepting Your love.  Thank You Father for answered prayers and continued acceptance of Your Word, it is a blessing to be part of it.  Prayers for others to grow in Your love and let Peace reign in our hearts.  To You be the glory, the honor and the praise, Amen.

Psalms 141 - Union

"A psalm of David. LORD, I call to you; hasten to me; listen to my plea when I call. Let my prayer be incense before you; my uplifted hands an evening offering. Set a guard, LORD, before my mouth, keep watch over the door of my lips."  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭141:1-3‬

Psalms 141 - Union.  The power of a prayer life, it changes how you look at things, it directs your path for the evil one does not have a grip on you.  Prayer is recognizing that you are a son or daughter of the King, you are not in exile from Him but are in union with Him.  What goes up to our Father in Heaven rains down upon us, it is knowing that you are dependent upon Him and He is there to help.  Your prayers are effective for God hears them and then puts His will into action.  It doesn't happen overnight but through this consistent communication with God, our eyes are opened, we see His plan and realize that we are heirs to the Throne.

What is God saying to me: You are not alone for where two or more are gathered in My name, I Am with you.  Listen and respond, My will is being done, if you look back you see the change.

Dear Father, I see the change, I see the hope and outcome of persistent prayer.   The power of our spoken word when united with You, releases Your divine power to go to work.  Bless our words this day Lord as we offer them up to You, there is much to do and we are to build up and not look down.  Prayers for a young couple celebrating their marriage today, continue to bless the union and give them the grace to deal with the life that awaits them.  Receive these prayers Father in Jesus's name, Amen.

Psalms 140 - look within

"Deliver me, LORD, from the wicked; preserve me from the violent, From those who plan evil in their hearts, who stir up conflicts every day,

Keep me, LORD, from the clutches of the wicked; preserve me from the violent, who plot to trip me up."  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭140:2-3, 5‬

Psalms 140 - Look within.  It is easy to look out and see the conflict that another is doing or has done, to point the finger of the wrong.  What about within, am I capable of such things?   Do my thoughts turn to causing harm upon another, do I respond emotionally when attacked.  Being conscious of God within, God is love, slows one down to respond, it causes one to look at the plank in our own eye.  This consciousness of self with God is deliverance and the actions of others aren't taken as personally.  You see the trap that we can easily be caught in or have been in and respond in ways that brings out Christ.  Hate the sin not the sinner, remember it is Christ within that we are calling upon for strength and deliverance.

What is God saying to me:

Dear Father, life is a Great Teacher when we are present to You, the parables play out in front of us.  Evil is all around us trying to ensnare us to join its cause, yet a life of prayer is the armor we need along with self examination to see the areas we need to amend.  Your counsel is timely God and always perfect, help us defuse the situations that come up in our day so the battle can be won within.  Prayer for a commitment to a deeper prayer life on a daily bases.  Prayer for safe travels and Your protection as we go into the day.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Psalms 139 - Intimacy

"You formed my inmost being; you knit me in my mother's womb. I praise you, because I am wonderfully made; wonderful are your works! My very self you know."  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭139:13-14‬

Psalms 139 - Intimacy.  God knows all, He knows are comings and goings, He knows the beginning and the end, He has intimate knowledge of us and who we are, the good and the bad.  Can you sit in His counsel and listen to Him?  Can you sit and fathom God and realize that He is so much more than we are capable of understanding.  Can you have an intimate relationship with God?  YES.  The one who made me, knows me inside and out and teaches us if we will sit still.  He speaks and knows the path, I want that intimacy with Him.  If we are to spend eternity together should we not get to know Him as best as we can?

What is God saying to me:  I love you, All of you and I speak.  You hear me in the quiet of your heart.  Enjoy the day, it is a good one, one where you will learn of my love for you.

Dear Lord, I love You Father, I thank You for helping me figure it out, I thank You for pointing out to the past to show the way forward and share Your teachings with me.  I thank You for being present to you and being able to listen.  Prayers for Your grace to fall upon us as we grow closer to You and realize how much You love each of.  We go together this day and I am listening, bless the day Father and teach us as we are all wonderfully made in Your image.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Psalms 138 - God is near

"The LORD is with me to the end. LORD, your mercy endures forever. Never forsake the work of your hands!"  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭138:8‬

Psalms 138 - God is near.   Where to begin, when you have been given a blank slate.  Maybe that is the message, we can get bogged down with all the events of yesterday and God is saying, let's begin anew today, I Am with you.

What is God saying to you?

Dear Father, I enjoyed the peace and quiet, nothing to solve, nothing to say, just Your gentle reminder that You are here with me.  I see but I don't, which is ok for it is You that I Am following.  Prayers for a productive day, thank You for the stillness.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Psalms 137 - Suffering

"Desolate Daughter Babylon, you shall be destroyed, blessed the one who pays you back what you have done us!"  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭137:8‬

Psalms 137 - Suffering.  We all face suffering, maybe it is the loss of a loved one, maybe it is financial hardships or loss of a job.  Do not fall into despair, raise your voice and praise God.  Jesus carries His cross to Calvary, He fell three times but His focus never left the prize.  We too are asked to carry crosses that are thrust on us unexpectedly, do we fall into despair and forget that we are not alone.  Jesus had Simon to help carry His cross, you have Jesus to help carry yours if you focus on Him and not the cross.  Keep your eyes focused on Him and all will be well for God is with you.

What is God saying to me:  Love wins.

Dear Father, we can easily fall into despair if You are not in our hearts, during the trials of life, You strengthen us to endure till the end.  You give us strength to see beyond the day and focus on the prize.  I pray for those who are suffering without hope, who have lost their way.  I pray Father that they reach out and take Your hand and renew their spirit.  Fill us with Your love and Your hope that all will be well.  Thank You Lord for a Spirit filled morning, it is going to be a good day.  Amen.

Psalms 136 - Walk by Faith

"The Lord remembered us in our low estate, for his mercy endures forever; Freed us from our foes, for his mercy endures forever; And gives bread to all flesh, for his mercy endures forever."  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭136:23-25‬

Psalms 136 - Walk by Faith.  Sitting at Your feet Father, I see all Your creations and I see a world confused with what is going on.  I see Your mighty hand at work, leading Your people thru its midst, giving strength to the weak, finding the lost and abandoned, breaking the strength of sin and giving hope to the hopeless.  Father, You are at work in the vineyard and are preparing the soil for a rich harvest, bring forth the crop you desire.  You are showing us the way to salvation when our sense of security is taken away other than following You.

What is God saying to me: You will see, overtime the picture will become clearer, walk by faith and trust in My loving mercy.

Dear Lord God, I thank You for this day and the joys it will bring, there is much to do and I am thankful for the opportunity to sit at Your feet and prepare.  Thank You Father for answered prayers, for friends getting cured.  Watch over us this day, keep us out of harms way as we walk by faith, You are at work.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Psalms 135 - God Providence

"For the LORD has chosen Jacob for himself, Israel as his treasured possession.

House of Israel, bless the LORD! House of Aaron, bless the LORD! House of Levi, bless the LORD! You who fear the LORD, bless the LORD!"  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭135:4, 19-20‬

Psalms 136 - God Providence.  "Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good! Sing to his name, for it brings joy!"  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭135:3‬   Yahweh is not a distant God, He is ever present, yet some see Him as a distant God for they are not present to Him.  God gives us signs and wonders to recognize Him yet some chose to ignore them.  The day is coming that we all will need to be prepared for and it is not far off.  Do not ignore the signs of the times, do not ignore God, continue to put oil in your lamp.   He chose you and in turn we are called to chose Him.  ""Now, therefore, fear the LORD and serve him completely and sincerely. Cast out the gods your ancestors served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD. If it is displeasing to you to serve the LORD, choose today whom you will serve, the gods your ancestors served beyond the River or the gods of the Amorites in whose country you are dwelling. As for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."" Joshua‬ ‭24:14-15‬

What is God saying to me:  Prepare ye the Way.

Dear Father, it is a blessing to by Your side, to listen to Your promptings and heed Your voice, You are not distant but very close.   You see all that is going on and are preparing Your faithful for a glorious day.  Father help me see the good and ignore the lies of the evil one, You are greater than all of our anxieties.   Thank You for Your gifts, Your thoughts, Your blessings, there is joy in being in Your presence along with a discontentment that others are missing out on Your wonderful gifts.  Lead us Lord this coming week, bring about Your intentions and help us be present to You.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Psalms 134 - Bless the Lord.

"A song of ascents. O come, bless the LORD, all you servants of the LORD You who stand in the house of the LORD throughout the nights. Lift up your hands toward the sanctuary, and bless the LORD."  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭134:1-2‬

Psalms 134 - Bless the Lord.  Faith, not knowing the outcome but trusting in God, raise your hands in praise and bless the Lord.  It is Holy Saturday night, it is dark no one knows the outcome but God is bringing about His plan.  We find ourselves in situations, not knowing what tomorrow brings and all we can do is raise our hands in praise and bless the Lord.  It is in this trusting of God, turning to Him and having faith in the outcome.  When we have gotten to this point in life, all will be well.  It is all part of the journey.

What is God saying to me:  Enjoy the day

Dear Father, I listen this morning and hear trusting voices and gentle kindness as little ones run around, their cares are simple and joy is real.  You have blessed us with many joys and are always there to take care of us, like a mother with a trusting child at her side.  May we be that trusting child at all times not always knowing but always trusting.  Prayers for a friend in the hospital, feeling a little anxious as he waits, all will be well.  Thank You Father for this day, may I bless You with it.  Amen.

Psalms 133 - God’s Anointing

"A song of ascents. Of David. How good and how pleasant it is, when brothers dwell together as one! Like fine oil on the head, running down upon the beard, Upon the beard of Aaron, upon the collar of his robe." Psalms‬ ‭133:1-2

Psalms 133 - God's Anointing.  What a blessing it is to be part of a community that gathers together to share God's Grace.  God created us with this desire for community, Adam wasn't satisfied until Eve was by his side.  They were happy being in Union with God as one, when sin entered the picture that all changed.  Recognize this desire within God's grace and be part of a larger community that is one with God, it is a blessed experience.  Also know the devil is aware of this innate desire and he uses it for his benefit.  May your community be anointed by God, especially in these times, we all need a little joy in our lives.  A group of men meeting as community is an anointing, if you only knew how good it is, you would seek it out,

What is God saying to me:  where two or three are gathered in My name, there I Am in their midst.

Dear Father, it is a blessing to be part of a band of brothers who are pulling in the same direction.  You have anointed each of us for a purpose and it us through Your grace that we are united.  Continue to bless these communities Father, increase the desire for others to join.  May we lay down our own selfish interests so Your will May be accomplished.  Thank You for this morning and the blessings of this day.  Prayers for a friend seeking, may he find the Joy of Christ in his life and be satisfied.   I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Psalms 132 - Resting place.

"I will give my eyes no sleep, my eyelids no rest, Till I find a place for the LORD, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob." Psalms‬ ‭132:4-5‬

Psalms 132 - Resting place.   David would not allow himself to rest until he found a dwelling for the Lord.  Have you found rest yet?  ""Arise, LORD, come to your resting place, you and your mighty ark."  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭132:8‬.  Where God is, there is rest, there is peace.  God doesn't come until He is invited, until He is welcomed in.  In David's searching he found the perfect place and David found his peace.  Knowing God is in His rightful place brings rest, for you are no longer searching, God is at home.  "Let us enter his dwelling; let us worship at his footstool."" ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭132:7‬.  That place is your heart, for you can close your eyes, enter His dwelling and just be.

What is God saying to me?  I Am at home, in My rightful place.

Dear Father, when I enter in, it seems like nothing is happening but You reveal Yourself in the stillness.  The clouds disappear and truth is revealed, I Am thankful for this place to be able to enter in and worship You.  I Am thankful for this day and the things that You are doing.  You are bringing order in this chaos.  Prayers for friends helping loved ones with cancer, may they find peace.  Thank You Father for bringing Peace into all these situations, there is nothing You can not do.  Bless this day Father and bless Your people, Amen.

Psalms 131 - At Rest

"A song of ascents. Of David. LORD, my heart is not proud; nor are my eyes haughty. I do not busy myself with great matters, with things too sublime for me. Rather, I have stilled my soul, Like a weaned child to its mother, weaned is my soul. Israel, hope in the LORD, now and forever."  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭131:1-3‬

Psalms 131 - At Rest.  God paints a wonderful image with His words that helps us understand our journey; a weaned child. A weaned child stays within reach of its mother yet it takes what it has learned and ventures out into its world.  Our soul needs that knowledge that God is near by and there is union with Him.  A child that goes beyond its mothers reach loses its sense of peace, becomes frightened and begins to loose control.  Knowing what is yours and what is Gods, stills the soul for it is God that will allow you to venture out, go too soon or too far and you will be unprepared.

What is God saying to me:  Is it the spiritual food you seek or is it I you seek, I Am always within reach when we are in communion and with this you always have peace.

Dear Lord, I trust in You, not always receiving but still within sight.  You know what is best and when the time is right, with this confidence, I will trust in You.  Like a weaned child, I grope about with the knowledge that You are right there, let's see what this day has to offer.  Prayers of thanksgiving for answered prayer, for Peace that resides within and for hope for tomorrow.  Keep Your watchful eye upon us and may we be a pleasing offering in Your sight, Amen.

Psalms 130 - Sin

"Lord, hear my cry! May your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy. If you, LORD, keep account of sins, Lord, who can stand? But with you is forgiveness and so you are revered."  Psalms‬ ‭130:2-4‬

Psalms 130 - Sin.  God keeps account of sins, He is fully aware of all of them.  The psalmist has an account of his sins, he is fully aware of his sins for he cry's out to God for mercy.  He has a holy fear of God, he has a reverence for the power and might of God and seeks His mercy.  I think of my sins from yesterday, God has an account and thankfully so do I.

Jesus paid the price for our sins but if we are not aware of them, or take this redemption for granted then that in itself is a sin.  It is a trap that some have fallen into and their own pride keeps them there for God is not revered.  They become comfortable in their sin and there is no cry for mercy.

What is God saying to me: My Word will accomplish what it is intended to do.  Live your faith and be fully aware of the ways that you sin and change your ways.

Dear Father, I am sorry for my sins yesterday, for the ways I did not express love.  Help me examine my own self and see the mortal sins I commit without my awareness.  I know some don't understand but that is ok, with You I will be an open book.  Prayers for cries of mercy, for awareness of the ways we sin against You and a holy reverence of how important our relationship with You is.   Continued prayers for those with Covid who are fearful, give them peace Father that surpasses all understanding.   I ask this through Jesus Christ, Amen.

Psalms 129 - Love Prevails.

"Viciously have they attacked me from my youth, yet they have not prevailed against me. Upon my back the plowers plowed, as they traced their long furrows. But the just LORD cut me free from the ropes of the wicked."  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭129:2-4‬

Psalms 129 - Love Prevails.  What consumes you?  I see this image from the Passion of Christ, the soldier scourging Jesus, he is consumed with hatred and evil as he uses the whip.  He didn't intend to strike that hard but his passions took over.  Look into the world and see the same passions take hold of people as they lash out yet this struggle hasn't changed and the outcome will be the same, Love prevails.  Examine yourself, is love at the core of your response, if this is the case there is compassion for others.

What is God saying to me:  My Love conquers all evil, I understood why he striked so hard and I forgave him.

Lord, You know my prayers and thoughts this morning, overcome the passions in our lives, free us from the wickedness that holds us captive, for in the end, You prevail.  Amen.

Prayer of St Francis

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.

O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen

Psalms 128 - Fruitful

"A song of ascents. Blessed are all who fear the LORD, and who walk in his ways. What your hands provide you will enjoy; you will be blessed and prosper:"  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭128:1-2‬

Psalms 128 - Fruitful.  Walking in His ways, I think of Jesus this morning, it was Him that is the perfect example of how to.  Preparing ourselves to receive God's Grace in prayer takes practice and earnest effort.  If we are to walk in His ways we first must sit and prepare to receive.  Then we apply what God gives us in our daily lives, the result being a blessing and we prosper.  The prosper we receive is not necessarily financial prosperity, we can prosper in many different ways.  Peace is a great prosperity as is contentment, joy, spiritual satisfaction.

What is God saying to me:

Dear Father, there are many distractions this morning that try's to interfere with our face to face, but even in this You are teaching.   I thank You for preparing my thoughts and actions for what You are desiring.  We learn from doing well as well as making mistakes. "We know that all things work for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose."  ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:28‬.  Prayers for all those dealing with this disease, may we each find comfort in knowing You are God and are working all things out.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Psalms 127 - God First

"A song of ascents. Of Solomon. Unless the LORD build the house, they labor in vain who build. Unless the LORD guard the city, in vain does the guard keep watch. It is vain for you to rise early and put off your rest at night, To eat bread earned by hard toil— all this God gives to his beloved in sleep."  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭127:1-2‬

Psalms 127 - God First.  Vain, what does it mean?  Empty!  How many vain attempts did I make in my lifetime? Lots of them for God wasn't in His rightful place.  Did I build, yes, did it satisfy, no.  It was my own vain efforts producing an empty result.  When God is first and you have Him in His rightful place, your heart, there is joy, there is peace, there is contentment, it is God producing the results for it is your efforts and His results.   God first, He guards the heart, once again that brings about joy, peace, contentment.  You first and we all know what that brings, a hunger that can never be satisfied.  Prayer is the beginning of understanding, put God first in your life, pray to Him, ask for His help and guidance.

What is God saying to me: Enjoy the stillness, the insight, this is where you gain vision and contentment for your life for it is I that is directing it and not you, a vain effort.

Dear Lord, Thank You for giving us Your Holy Spirit, He is always teaching and giving us insights for our lives.  I have seen You at work these past days providing the food that feeds my soul and spirit.  I thank You for ears to listen, a heart that is open and a spirit that is willing.  Continue to build Father, continue to bless Father and bring us the fruits of everlasting life.  Prayers for a friend celebrating his anniversary today Lord, bless him Father with Your gifts.  Prayers for another recovering from Covid, bless him Father with Your gifts.  Thank You for the peace when we are walking in union.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Psalms 125 - Stand Firm

"A song of ascents. Those trusting in the LORD are like Mount Zion, unshakable, forever enduring."  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭125:1‬

Psalms 125 - Stand Firm.  Child like faith, watch a child and see the trust that they have, in you, in what you tell them.  This is the foundation that God wants us to have in our lives.  There is a blessing when we live this way, when we listen to God and do not try and overthink things on our own.   What things are influencing your actions, your thoughts?  Jesus faced these same influences but never lost His peace or child like faith.  Take a recap of your day tonight  and see where you were unequally yoked to God and where child like faith and trust prevailed.

What is God saying to me: waiting upon Me to respond was the answer this morning, I can not be rushed and in that you are learning.

Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I thank you for your gracious companionship. I praise you for being my Creator, Savior, and Lord.  May I take your blessing to my day and may your presence envelop and permeate all my thoughts and actions through Crust our Lord, Amen.   Triune God be my all, Triune God be my All, Triune God be my all.  (Prayer to the Holy Trinity - God's Embrace)

Psalms 124 - Awareness

"Had not the LORD been with us, let Israel say,"  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭124:1‬

Psalms 124 - Awareness.  What would happen if God wasn't with you?  What did happen or could of happened when I didn't acknowledge God in my life?  Darkness, sin, pain, sorrow, trapped.  The prodigal son fell into this trap, he lived large until he was fully aware he wasn't with God.  The pain became greater than the sin.  God was with him, even in the pain, it was the Lord that brought him back.  Being aware that God is always with you and acknowledging Him brings peace into your life, gives you strength in knowing you are not alone, no matter the circumstance.  Be conscious to God in your life 24/7, stay out of the darkness.

What is God saying to me:  you are never alone, there is always a way out.  Remember to do it with love for I Am love.

Dear Father, we always need reminders of those times in our lives we did not walk together, You were always present even though I wasn't.  I ask for help this day to live with love, to respond with love and to always walk with You.  Make us think Father, may we use our ability to think and be aware to Your guidance.  Prayers of thanksgiving for great examples of people living their life in faith and being fully aware to You.  Bless this day Lord, keep us safe and thank You Lord for another day to understand, Amen.

Psalms 123 - Thy Will be done

"A song of ascents. To you I raise my eyes, to you enthroned in heaven. Yes, like the eyes of servants on the hand of their masters, Like the eyes of a maid on the hand of her mistress, So our eyes are on the LORD our God, till we are shown favor. Show us favor, LORD, show us favor, for we have our fill of contempt."  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭123:1-3‬

Psalms 123 - Thy Will be done.  I look upon the Masters hand this morning, expecting a response, to make all of this nonsense go away.  His response is "thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven."  My response back, "this isn't heaven, it is more like hell."  His response back "Jesus made a difference in His world, He had the same contempt."  Finding favor with God is done by doing His will.  We may not like these circumstances, where up is down and right is wrong but our response to the world is to be love.  Jesus loved the sinner but hated the sin.  Look beyond the sin and see what Jesus sees.

What is God saying to me: He who has begun a good work in you will see it thru til the end.

Dear Father, this purgation isn't easy, I guard my steps and my response.  You have given me a desire for Your heart and this is the goal.  I see the conflict within and strive each day only to fall short.  So I look to Your favor for Your strength and not my own.  I love You with all my heart and You see the battle, I don't ask why, I just ask when.  Prayers for a friend in a battle, I pray that You give Him favor for he is deserving of so much more.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Psalms 122 - Enter in.

"For the sake of my brothers and friends I say, "Peace be with you." For the sake of the house of the LORD, our God, I pray for your good."  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭122:8-9‬

Psalms 122 - Enter in.  "Peace be with you."  One of Jesus favorite phrases.  Jesus as man lives in peace knowing His Father in Heaven is praying for His good.  "I rejoiced when they said to me, "Let us go to the house of the LORD." Psalms‬ ‭122:1‬.  How many times before did Jesus enter Jerusalem, excited to be there, to be going to His Fathers house.  Nothing good keep Him away from it even death.   This relationship that Jesus has with His Father and His house is one that Jesus wants for each of us.  That desire for ones heart to be doing the will of the Father.  The strength that we gain and the peace that we receive is real.

What is God saying to me: Where you go, I go with you, around you and before you.  Jesus has this confidence where ever He went, He was not alone.

Dear Father, You are with me flooding my senses with thoughts and sounds this morning of a bustling city and a Man walking in Peace and with Peace.  Your words breath life into our spirits, may I live them this day and know that You are within living out our salvation plan.  Prayers for a friend in search of a new beginning, may he know that his past is part of his future, a brighter tomorrow when he walks with You.  Thank You Father for using my senses this morning and for Your Peace that resides in my heart.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Psalms 121 - Relationship

"I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; From where shall my help come?  My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth."  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭121:1-2‬

Psalms 121 - Relationship.  I recall climbing Croak Patrick, a holy mountain in Ireland.  From the bottom looking up, it seemed easy enough but as I moved up it became a climb.  I questioned if I should continue or turn back, I continued and prayed along the way.  It was these prayers and God's help that helped me move up the mountain.  I look at the mountain in front of us these days and I am reminded again, it is prayer and having that conversation(relationship) with God that will carry each of us forward.  Spending time and having holy moments with our Creator gives us the strength to push forward.

What is God saying to me:

Dear Father, You always find a way to speak truth into my heart, You know what I need to hear.  I thank You for a great week with family spending time making memories that will last a lifetime.  Father when we look back in several years, may we see the distance we have climbed and in our moments of uncertainty may we remember to turn to You in prayer.  Prayers for a good nights sleep, prayers for sweet dreams and may peace reside in our hearts as we spend time with You!  Amen.

Psalms 120 - Freedom

"Alas, I am a foreigner in Meshech, I live among the tents of Kedar! Too long do I live among those who hate peace. When I speak of peace, they are for war."  Psalms‬ ‭120:5-7

Psalms 120 - Freedom  A foreigner in His own land.  I picture Jesus this morning as He moved closer to His resurrection, I see Him using with these words.  The land that He grew up in as become a foreign land for He isn't  destined for here but destined for Heaven.  As we journey into the heart of God, our own lands become foreign for your vision has changed, your focus is different, you are not living for the now but are seeing the reality of tomorrow.  This is foreign to those who have yet to encounter the Christ, your speech is different.  I see a world quickly changing before our eyes, it too is becoming foreign.  The let freedom ring is keeping most captive in their homes.  Yet in the stillness of the morning there is peace knowing freedom is found in the journey into the heart of God.  Happy 4th of July.  Find freedom and you will find Peace.

What is God saying to me:

Dear Father, it is a beautiful morning watching the birds feed in a land given by You.  We have been given so much may we not forget where we came from and be thankful for everything that we have been given.  We all face injustices in life, it is part of life and learning how to live in peace.   Prayers for a country wiping out its history and its heritage.  Bless this day Father, bless our family and bless this country as it was based upon Judeo Christian beliefs.  I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Psalms 119 - The Way

"Had your law not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction. I will never forget your precepts; through them you give me life. I am yours; save me, for I cherish your precepts.

I have wandered like a lost sheep; seek out your servant, for I do not forget your commandments."  Psalms‬ ‭119:92-94, 176‬

Psalms 119 - The Way.  "Teach me, show me, free me, give me", all part of a conversation with God.  It is not a one way conversation, your salvation is a team effort and one that can't be gained unless you are seeking it.  It is a free gift but is not without effort, you can not go through life blindly and expect to end up in paradise.  The good thief on the cross knew who Jesus was, he was being drawn to him and His teachings.  It is so much more than meets the eye and like any good relationship, it is continually growing.  In the quiet moments God gives only what the heart sees.  It is a journey with Him.

What is God saying to me:  I know your heart, I see your desires and I Am helping.  We are doing it together, in ways that you do not realize, I Am always faithful and each day you are being faithful to My word.  You are seeing what others hope to see but you have learned it comes with time and dedicated actions along with calling upon My Holy Spirit to teach, to show and to give.
Dear Father, it is always a blessed morning when we spend time together, You speak and I listen.  Thank You for the gift of imagination, the gift of desire, the gift of commitment, the gift of faith.  Prayers for a world that has lost its way, that denies Your existence and only seeks to serve itself.  Continue to speak into the darkness and draw the lost and lonely to You and to the way to true freedom.  I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Psalms 118 - Prepared

"You are my God, I give you thanks; my God, I offer you praise. Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, his mercy endures forever."  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭118:28-29‬

Psalms 118 - Prepared.  "Then, after singing a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives."  ‭‭Mark‬ ‭14:26‬  Psalms 118 is the last Psalm sang at the Passover meal(Last Supper). Jesus sang this knowing what was coming, knowing what the words meant to Him and to humanity.   Before the dawn of time God prepared man for what was coming, if we are obedient to His will we will recognize His voice and find strength for what lies ahead.  Be attentive and listen.

What is God saying to me:

Dear Father, You always lead the way when we listen, there are subtle hints given that lead us on the path towards the outcome best for our lives.  Thank You Father for ears that hear and recognize You speaking.  Bless this day Father and keep us pointing East, Amen.

Psalms 117 - Rock Solid

"Praise the LORD, all you nations! Extol him, all you peoples! His mercy for us is strong; the faithfulness of the LORD is forever. Hallelujah!"  Psalms‬ ‭117:1-2‬

Psalms 117 - Rock Solid.  Psalms 117 is the shortest chapter in the Bible, as I sat down to pray this morning, I was looking forward to reading only to find two verses and the shortest chapter.  God so desires our faithfulness, He sees the distractions, hears the chaos that surrounds us and is yet faithful to us forever.  He is always there to help us find peace in the midst of everything going on.  One of these days, we will all praise the Lord, we will all extol Him for He has been the strong One, the One who will reside in our hearts forever.  That place is called Heaven and we can find a little piece of it when we sit sill and listen to His persistent call.

What is God saying to me:  The challenge is real and so is My faithfulness, always ready to give to those who call upon My name, a little piece of Heaven.

Dear Father, Your will is my will, I look forward to the day that we are all singing You praise with one accord.  Until then we can steal away and find You resting in the boat giving us strength to fight the good fight.  Prayers for a world living without You, lost amongst all the noice, even there You can be found in a quiet whisper being faithful to Your covenant with each of us.  Thank You Father for being "Praise the LORD, all you nations! Extol him, all you peoples! His mercy for us is strong; the faithfulness of the LORD is forever. Hallelujah!"  Psalms‬ ‭117:1-2‬
