Psalms 129 - Love Prevails.

"Viciously have they attacked me from my youth, yet they have not prevailed against me. Upon my back the plowers plowed, as they traced their long furrows. But the just LORD cut me free from the ropes of the wicked."  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭129:2-4‬

Psalms 129 - Love Prevails.  What consumes you?  I see this image from the Passion of Christ, the soldier scourging Jesus, he is consumed with hatred and evil as he uses the whip.  He didn't intend to strike that hard but his passions took over.  Look into the world and see the same passions take hold of people as they lash out yet this struggle hasn't changed and the outcome will be the same, Love prevails.  Examine yourself, is love at the core of your response, if this is the case there is compassion for others.

What is God saying to me:  My Love conquers all evil, I understood why he striked so hard and I forgave him.

Lord, You know my prayers and thoughts this morning, overcome the passions in our lives, free us from the wickedness that holds us captive, for in the end, You prevail.  Amen.

Prayer of St Francis

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.

O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen
