WEEK TWENTY TWO: LIFE IN THE RESURRECTION - DAY 6

WEEK TWENTY TWO: LIFE IN THE RESURRECTION - DAY 6

MORNING FACE TO FACE WITH GOD:
Begin with Prayer to the Holy Spirit

REPETITION OF DAYS FOUR AND FIVE:
Ask for the grace to be glad and rejoice intensely because of the great joy and the glory of Christ our Lord (#221)

Today, you are doing a repetition of Days Four and Five of this week. In a repetition St. Ignatius says that "we should pay attention to and dwell upon those points in which we have experienced greater consolation or desolation or greater spiritual appreciation." (# 62) If you wish, you can do a triple colloquy: refer to #63 of the Third Exercise of the First Week.

Day 4 - Acts 3: 6-8: Cure of a Cripple and Peter's Discourse "Peter said, "I have neither silver nor gold, but what I do have I give you: in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean, [rise and] walk." Then Peter took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles grew strong. He leaped up, stood, and walked around, and went into the temple with them, walking and jumping and praising God." [Please read Acts 3: 1 - 4: 31 for a better appreciation of the passage].

Day 5 - Prayer on Acts 10: 44-48: The Baptism of Cornelius: "While Peter was still speaking these things, the holy Spirit fell upon all who were listening to the word. The circumcised believers who had accompanied Peter were astounded that the gift of the holy Spirit should have been poured out on the Gentiles also, for they could hear them speaking in tongues and glorifying God. Then Peter responded, "Can anyone withhold the water for baptizing these people, who have received the holy Spirit even as we have?" He ordered them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ." [Please read Acts 10: 1-49 for a better appreciation of the passage].

Transforming lives one at a time once Truth has been revealed to them.  Their lives take on a purpose that their souls were designed for, to glorify God.  Peter no longer lives in denial but lives in truth, the cripple no longer is denied entrance into the temple.  The gentiles are no longer denied the fullness of God.  God works all this out through His Holy Spirit along with our willing spirits.  "But as it is written: "What eye has not seen, and ear has not heard, and what has not entered the human heart, what God has prepared for those who love him,"". ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭2:9‬ ‭ Walk into your future with God leading.

What is God saying to you?

Dear Father, I thank You for the wonder and amazement of life, for the glories of Your mystical body.  Not everything has a logical conclusion that can be explained away.  Faith has purpose in life, it is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.  You have given us an intellect, help us use it to glorify you with lives of dedicated service.  Prayers for a friend in hospice, help him and his family see the glory of You in action.   I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Mary, Queen of Peace, Pray for us.
St Joesph, Hope of the Sick, Pray for us.
